I love and loved South Coast College. The best thing about it was its staff. From its court reporting instructors to its paralegal program, everything is taught and intended to provide the student with the best opportunity to leave its halls with knowledge superlative to that of students from anywhere else. What are your chances of obtaining a position in the legal office as a court reporter, paralegal or legal assistant? That is probably what I should have asked myself prior to obtaining a "less-than-godly" student loan! I graduated mentally prepared – but financially not quite ready to work at the rate at which most legal firms hire those fresh out of school! Although I work in a field completely unrelated to that in which I was trained (I graduated from the paralegal program and am one of two people now running a surgical company.) At this time, the courts in Los Angeles and Orange County are hiring court reporters, while deposition agencies like Hahn and Bowersock, Regal Court Reporting, Barkley have all been hiring — keeping graduates busily engaged. I've been involved in the occupation for nearly 25 years. Yes, it has been challenged by electronic recording, but that comes and goes. Its what people make of their own choices in life. Today I am seeing this as a great opportunity for anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit who is willing to jump in and take advantage of the varied paths the skill of court reporting can provide including court and deposition reporting, as well as CART (steno-interpreting for the hearing-impaired) and captioning live television. I've been attending FCC since summer of 2016 and will graduate, god willing, this spring 2019. Full time, year round, no breaks. Although parking requires at least an hour grace period, I believe the over all experience is what you make it. I've come across rude people maybe having a bad day and I've had instructors I could not relate to. Its all very frustrating. Its sad to say the success rate at this college is 17%. But, then again this is an adult school. Nobodies going to call your house when your absent or hold a parent-teacher conference when your not doing your work. I am working on a Human Service degree and have enjoyed the ups and downs of my classes. The load was a little heavier in a few and I had to buckle down and utilize the tutorial, ETC, PASS, Computer lab and all other resources available. In all the those places I found the staff and student help extremely eager to be of service. The assistance was much appreciated. I am not speaking for this business itself, merely the college district's education quality. I have taken classes at Fresno, Clovis, and Reedley Community College, and I have had an absolutely deplorable time. I don't feel like I'm getting anything from the classes; I don't feel the staff is prepared to teach online, if at all. If you are going to teach college-level English, you should not make punctuation and grammatical errors consistently. If you are teaching a law class, you should not do it from inherent bias and perspective. If you are conducting an online course, you should not have to hold up a piece of paper because you don't know how to make a slide. It is said that Fresno City College is the first Community College in California. Registration to classes is simple and online, and they offer all kind of classes. My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. With his support and all of SJVC workers, instructors, and all around everyone, I was able to get threw this pandemic we are still having and graduate with a 4.0 and being on the deans list. Overall, an okay community college experience so far from 2019 to 2022 (I took some summers off). The registration process for me was a nightmare. OpenCC upon some of the other processes were buggy, nonfunctional, or unclear. Despite this, I have to give them slack as when I was applying they were revamping their websites significantly. There's a mixed bag of good and bad staff. Some professors will be insanely rude, not understanding, and sometimes not even lecture properly on the topic at hand. Other professors will be really kind, understanding, and actively willing to work with you. Always look up the professor on Rate My Professor!!! Eservices, Canvas, and Counseling are atrocious. Eservices has been buggy at times or down for multiple hours. Canvas is usually a decent online learning tool, but sometimes it can get buggy and is not always accessibility friendly (as seen by not having a dark mode for example). I recall a time when Canvas was down due to the host servers, which are owned by Amazon, were completely offline. Counseling is not always helpful in guiding you to where to go next, will sometimes not even answer calls nor emails, and can get really busy (even with the switch from the old building to the Welcome and Support Center). I suggest looking up some information yourself on ARCs website first before talking to counselors, such as course catalogs or what classes you might take for a specific associates degree. I wish that counseling would still give out PHYSICAL course catalogs, but it is what it is. Finance is usually okay for parking passes, but other services is like pulling teeth. Communication on what is going on campus varies from good to poor. An example of this is when the pandemic began around midterms and there was the report of two people being exposed to Covid on campus, which caused mass panic and multiple people just walking out of class. Parking can sometimes be an issue, so be prepared to walk a little bit. Also, you will need a parking pass from a kiosk or buy a parking pass permit for the semester. Bathrooms could use some work. I recall a time where after flushing the bathroom started to flood. Food choices were fairly solid. If you were going to Starbucks or Subway during lunch, lines would get long. Only food offered on campus now is either from the student store, the cafeteria, the Oak Cafe, or the few vending machines on campus. Off campus, there's quite a few food places around, such as Lis Mongolian BBQ, Chik Fil A, and In-N-Out. The bookstore has been unorganized in the past, but is relatively chilled back and clean nowadays. Be warned that some things will be overpriced, but that's normal for college. Also, don't be shocked if there's a hassle with ordered books or book returns for refunds.Emily “Emma Anne” Branecki

It's almost like 90% of the people who work here will be rude over the phone and tell you to do everything online. They have messed up most of my paperwork, resulting in me having to resubmit residency forms, application forms, proof of ID. Somehow they put me as out-of-state which includes a 900% markup per credit. I went from expecting a $150 bill for a single class and ended up with a $1200 bill. No one wants to help sort it out. No one wants to answer the phone. The website is difficult to navigate. Honestly, I have had a single positive experience with one person in Admissions, and everyone else has been pushy, rude, dismissive, and argumentative. I am considering switching to literally any other school in the district. My partner attends SCC and it's laughable how smoothly they handled his transition back to school, compared to mine. Edit: it should also be noted that I had applied to ARC 4 times since 2013 and never received a welcome letter. I had emailed asking why I applied and was not told anything, or emailed, called – nothing. I got no response. Called last month because I was at my wits end and I am told "I can't give you a student ID number because your application was DENIED." I asked why and she told me she couldnt tell me. I asked for a supervisor who immediately told me "we have the wrong SSN for you, so none of your applications were accepted because it didn't watch our records." My CORRECT SSN, was being rejected. In 8 YEARS NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THIS. Just like they didn't tell me I was listed as out of state, despite submitting residency information multiple times. This school is a JOKEI Illyria

The college is great..,.. the bookstore however is 1 star at best. The school district sub-contracted it out and the new facilitators understand that they have a built in market from people having to use their financial aid or other assorted vouchers from various Govt entities and as a result they practice poor customer service utilizing people that are quite adept at rapid fire litanies telling you why none of the delays or shortages are their concern or problem. In fact in my opinion 90% of their employees that deal with the public are nothing more than thugs and bully's. They take no responsibility for faulty instructions in how to use the new book site with vouchers and tell you that they are "saaaawrrrrry" when they tell you they can't locate your books and give you a date when they will be in. Once again, in my opinion, they are nothing more than petty tyrants and bullies that should have their contract terminated for lack of accountability on their part. The administration is not interested in offering equal access to education for parents who are looking to get one. The college is not interested in reestablishing the on-campus child care center. Also the administration knew the science building chemistry hoods were not functioning properly for years and never let students know. The professors are incredible but if you are a mother good luck because the college doesn't care that in order to access education, women with children (those who require an education for a chance to improve their children's future!) need some equitable student services. Don't take my word for it scroll through the reviews. Most reviewers are male even though majority of students who attend the college are women. Read into it what you will but the facts remain that the college has a child care center on campus but refuse to renovate it even though property taxpayers agreed to pay for it (measure g 2004).Melissa Martinez

The college incorrectly listed me as a non-California resident. When I attempted to fix this, I found that I could not get in touch with ANYONE from the business offices. Eventually, they started having a debt collector call me because I wanted to sort out the residency issue so that I would not be charged nearly $1000 for my classes. This has been going on for months now, I attempt to call their offices almost every week and no one answers me. I'm beginning to suspect that they are just trying to force me to pay the non-resident fee so that they can get some extra cash. All in all, I have had a horrible experience with the administrative services, and if I could get on the line with anyone, I would have been happy to have paid the appropriate tuition months ago.Laura Israel

Overall, the colleges is good. However, other colleges are doing much better. $ stars for the efforts in trying to become better. Recently they have started to work on the new Gymnasium building. Teachers and professors are good but they are very diverse. The teaching style of all the teachers differ and they might not be ok with everyone. So choose your class wisely. Overall the crowd is good but sometimes you might find some not so friendly people. I am not sure about the safety. I think financial aid is run by Dr.Seuss. It’s a literal circus. They barely answer the phone and Stacy is brutal. I think she wrestled in the WWE. I simply and politely asked about my financial aid app and she punch me in throat so hard I started singing Ave Maria. I didn’t even know I knew the song. This is a great university with students from all around the world, very beautiful buildings, gardens and sport facilities. It was a fantastic experience to study there for an year and enjoy such a nice atmosphere. Just be aware that you need a car to travel in weekends, for Riverside itself does not have many attractions, though it's a cozy city.Michael Rachid

Beautiful campus. So green. I love the Eucalyptus trees. It’s quiet in certain areas and social in others when students are around. A little something for everyone. Nice pathways for both walking and cycling. There are benches all around the campus to provide ample sitting areas to either just rest or to study with solar powered charging stations.Sajleen

If you are a Veteran and want to attend this school I recommend you don't. I personally have had multiple issues with communication with the school as well as obtaining an appointment with their one VA counselor. My appointment was made a month and a half out mainly because that specific date was the only day that would work for me. I was suppose to walk in at 4 pm to see the counselor. Mind you I called earlier that day to confirm my appointment, even received an email notification confirming my appointment. They told me they accidentally double booked, but to come in anyways and they will just squeeze me in. Came in at 350 PM checked in the front desk looked confused, I explained the situation and I didn't get seen until 5:45 PM I had a final for speech class at 6 PM. If you decide to take online classes be careful you could end up like me log in and check the course the first day of the semester in this case July 19th 2017 at 8:55 AM and see that there are no notifications or assignments post yet. Log in that Friday still having issues to find out you got dropped that Wednesday for not being active in the course. I logged in that Monday to do the Class work knowing that my other class kept me busy tues, wed, thurs. All just to find out that your email was jacked because of the conversion they did in spring, therefore getting locked from your account. I do not recommend this school or the school district it has only been a constant uphill battle for me and to many stressful occurrences. Attend a Cal State or Cal University.Cody

I have been trying to see a counselor, and so far I have come to the counseling department more than five times. Anytime I went there, they said that there are a lot of students so go come back tomorrow at 8:00 am. When I went there at 8:00 am the next day, they said oh we don't do walk ins, you can go today, but for tomorrow give us a call to confirm if there is any counselor available. I did call them the day before coming they said yes come around 8:00 am you will for sure see a counselor, I got there at 8:00 am, but unfortunately again they said that there are a lot of students and they only have one counselor. I don't know what game do they play with students, I missed going to work for 3 days, and it seems that I might not be able to take any classes this summer just because of not being able to see a counselor. I request the authorities of this nice college to pay attention to this problem, and find some possible ways of solution since the students need to have updated Educationan Plans.Tawfiq Sediqi

This college is a freaking mess and very unorganized!!!! Fist visit, they told me counseling was open until 4:30pm. Got there at 3:34pm and said they stop at 3pm. They told me to come back tomorrow and they will do counseling till 4pm. I got early from work the nex day, and when I get to the counseling office, they said they are not doing counseling today! They tell me to come back tomorrow. They couldn't take appointments because they were too busy that week. I come back the next day, my job let me get off early again, when I get to the counseling they tell me their system is down! They tell me to come back on Saturday for the event. They tell me counseling and student services will be open. I'm here at the counseling at 10am, they freaking tell me no counselors today, they are only taking picture for IDS !!!! This is the worse experience I had. Very unprofessional, not organized!!!! I'm very upset!!!!!Miriam Gal

I'd like to think that because of Covid, there is a lack of help from this college. I have been trying my very best for the last month to do everything myself without the help from any employees at this college. I have not been contacted regarding how to get enrolled, registered, what classes I need, financial aid, etc. I have been struggling since I have submitted my application to this college. You basically have to figure out everything on your own which isn't hard for me to do because I was walked through the steps from my previous college who actually took the time to help me out. While I understand quite a few things, there are some things that I don't understand and that I have questions about but getting into contact with anyone at this college is very difficult. Even through emails, no one responds. This college lacks the skill for helping their future students. I believe that I have done everything necessary in order to be a student but getting in touch with a counselor is the biggest problem. Making an appointment with a counselor via zoom, is quite a struggle and I have messaged quite a few employees at the college but yet, I still haven't received any responses. I am about to give up and just try somewhere else although this college is very convient for me, it's not worth the struggle and hassle at this point. 😔Mary McDonald

Great atmosphere. Their financial aid office needs help though. I started my fasfa around May and I'm trying to get in for the fall. I sat down with the students that help you with the fasfa form online so I don't do it wrong. I had to wait for them to approve it. They told me to bring my parents IRS info, even though I used the retrieval tool. I had to do a dependent verification form. Turned in copies of those. Then asked for my W-2. Then they asked for another verification form. Just constantly asking me for things I turned in. It sometimes takes them weeks to let you know what's next. So I learned the hard way the previous year that they ask for these forms every semester. They didn't tell me until I was applying for another semester. First year student trying to figure them out. I lived in El Cajon when they were asking for forms making this process extra annoying. Apparently they had to restart the process for the new semester. Don't ask me why but this is the most annoying part of school. I advise making multiple copies of whatever they ask for IRS FORMS, W-2, AND TAX INFO. They'll ask for it next semester and start it months before to avoid lines. I'm grateful there is a financial office though or school would be ROUGH! Thank you. EDIT: THEY MOVED TO A 270PERSONAL

City College is represented by the San Diego transit people, MTS, as City College Trolley Station, a cave, possibly Plato's, remarkable for grime and an expansive range of social behaviors not common in the quiet halls of ivy and higher education. The City College Trolley Station, is, of course, the gateway of San Diego's always expanding skidrow that could be seen as starting here and continuing to 25th and Commercial. San Diego and the real estate community promotes skidrow as being the East Village, but it's not really so much a village as it is a refugee camp. And it is getting bigger every day and will one day engulf all of downtown and possibly as far into the neighborhoods as Hillcrest and North Park. The instructors are great. The office staff and financial aid department is a joke. I have been a student for over 3 years and am almost ready to graduate, and I have been asked to fill out form after form every year, even though my household information has not changed. Even though a person fills out a FASFA, they will make you fill out more forms to "make sure the FASFA is correct". I filled it out and checked it, of course it's correct. I just think the financial aid office needs to find a way to keep their jobs. I went in first thing in the morning and still waited over 15 minutes for a financial aid lady to call me back. Why?, because they were to busy talking with each other about non-work related stuff. I could here their whole conversation. So while a person attending college (that secures their employment) waits to be helped, they just sit on their butts and talk. Terrible service. Then their books that are used for certain classes are printed with just the chapters needed for a particular class, printed on regular paper, have a 3 hole punch, and sold wrapped in plastic. The books are terribly expensive (another way for them to make tons of money). You are expected to pay for a 3 ring binder, and on top of it they won't buy it back at the end of the term. So you are stuck with an expensive stack of papers (that they call a book) and can't resell anywhere. The classes are expensive. Financial aid is put on a Higher One card (which is also a joke) and fees have to be paid to withdraw the money from the card, unless you go to the atm located at the college. Also, the atm at the college doesn't have 24 hour access. Their solution is for me to get a bank account to have it transferred, but then I have to pay bank fees because there isn't money going into the account every month. I have to tell you, do not waste your time attending Rogue Community College. I rent my books now from an outside source and have saved tons. I seriously am contemplating transferring to another college just so I don't have to deal with them anymore, and that way it drops their graduation rate and retention rate down even lower! Look at this college success rate, it speaks volumes!Christal McNair

I have been a student twice, once in 1991 for the Automotive Specialist Certificate and the second time in 2011 For the Web Development Degree. The early courses in 1991 were taught by very experienced people from their industry. The course was tailored with feedback from the local businesses. After graduation I actually won a national award from ASE for the highest composite score in the nation for a student. Yes, me a one year certificate holder from RCC scored higher than all the students from other trade schools and colleges that year taking their certificate test for the first time. It was very easy to find good work if you hustled a bit, because the course was not fancy, but laid a solid foundation to build off of. So when I was injured after many years I went back with high expectations. The second time in 2011 for the degree in web development was much less focused on what the industry needed and taught by people with little to no experience in the field. A lot of what we had to learn was not what would help get a job or pass any type of industry certification. It was more a transfer degree, that lacked any sort of basic focus. We learned a little about a lot, some several years out of date, without much focus on knowing the basics well. The program has since been scrapped. My guess is because almost no one I graduated with can find work with what they took away from RCC in that program. To top it off I even applied for several entry level positions with RCC when I could not find a job elsewhere and they do tend to look down on their own degrees, wanting 4 years or more. As far as some instructors go, they run their classes beautifully, but the school is a waste of time. They capitalize on the idea that they're the only continued education facility in the valley, which is true for the most part. The alternatives are online courses which may not suit everyone's needs. Trying to get financial aid for the first time was appalling, Just skip the TRiO office (where i was first directed to) as they waste your time with useless paperwork, give you no deadlines, and can be the reason you go an entire year without financial aid. The courses themselves are way too expensive for a community/junior college, again, capitalizing on having a monopoly on higher education. You often pay upwards of 360-400 for a 3 credit core class before books and supplies. The counseling department is useless, they tend to just repeat themselves, even if you ask on futher clarification. Their record keeping is flawed (i spent 3 hours waiting to talk to someone in the financial aid office about a payment and they have no record of it) They contradict themselves. For example, telling you if you miss any of the first two weeks of a course you WILL be dropped then turn around and charge you for a class you never attended stating that they don't always drop you. they fees are ridiculous the office is completely unwillng to help you and even if you play by their rules they still get their money by other means (like your tax returns or garnishing your wages) If you can find away around this establishment, i recommend it. If online school works for you i advise you go there instead, because this was the most frustrating 3 years of my life.Confused Beaver

Finally getting to go to college Cypress college is a perfect fit for one I know the area quite well and the ladies in the financial aid department were so helpful they were more than eager to find out any and all blocks that were happening that was preventing my semester to start and corrected it right away Cypress college has so many classes so many organizations that actually help people within the community whether it be for shelter food medical schooling clothing counseling and if they do not have what you're looking for they will get the information to get you to the proper place I witnesses good people at that college I'm proud to go thereJackie Ray Bass

I applied 7/23 and never received an email containing my student I’d. And yes I checked my junk mail. I emailed admissions per my acceptance email after not receiving my student id after 5 business days. Received an automated email saying someone would respond within 48 hours. NOTHING. Tried their “virtual drop in counseling’ and the page is not accessible. Called the college on a Thursday and get a beeping tone. Totally unprofessional. I’m guess the college is closed? Or they don’t have the tools to properly run a college? This is my WORST experience enrolling in a college ever!!!Brooke Bennett

I love Cypress College, I've almost finished my GE and I've only had one teacher that wasnt so great. The campus is safe and beautiful. The counselors are very nice and helpful. They have a financial aid office that is also very nice and helpful. I plan on transferring from Cypress College and go to Biola. So far, my experience has been great. Today, there was free lunch that was given out! I feel that Cypress College does it's best to serve their student thoroughly.Joy Hong

I transferred here because it offered a program I wanted to take. The first time, the class was canceled due to there being not enough sign ups. Fine. That was Spring and now we’re in the Fall semester. Once again, the class was canceled. It was canceled 1 week before the 2nd session was to start. I now only have 2 classes (a 3rd one was dropped because it overlapped the class that was eventually canceled). My teacher is cool so, no complaints. My online class…. it takes my teacher 2-3 weeks just to grade your work. I’ve done online classes at other schools and was graded within the week. I’m going back to my previous school. I chose this college because it was ranked as one of the top ten community colleges in California for online courses. Diversity is great, many certificates and degrees offered, and the counselors I’ve spoke with over the phone were polite and helpful. They wait until more than a month into the semester to process student loans – and the form should specify that it’s for the year. I filled it out thinking it was only for the semester. No return emails from financial aid in the matter. Overall I would recommend WLAC, but their admissions and financial aid offices need to work on responding to students.Jason G

The school was okay. The admission office is terrible. I enjoyed the professors they have great ones. Working here was bad there’s nepotism and favoritism allowed. The staff isn’t the nicest I think student should be respected a bit more and heard. As an employee here I know I tried to help as many students sincerely. The process needs to be more efficient. The school itself is very deceptive and nitpicks their students for arriving a few minutes late from a lunch or if you need to take a day off. Expect to be treated like a child and watched from their cameras. The school has no problem lying to students; our class went through hell trying to get the labs, site visits, the MRI simulator program they installed 2 weeks before our class was over they promised and we paid for. The recruiters will tell you about their "associate degree" but you try to hide that it’s an associate of applied science (AAS) degree which is a degree that takes 2 years but credits and not transferable and don’t count towards a bachelor’s degree. The administration staff is not on your side. Previous classes communicated to us how the school constantly drops the ball and they’ve been waiting 3 weeks for the school to pay the fee so they could take their ARMRIT tests and get their certification. Students who fall behind on their payments have been harassed despite paying what they could and being fully aware they can’t graduate without paying the balance. A teacher we had for a few months did not have a teaching skill set and was often rude and inappropriate to students that asked questions. The school had issues with this teacher in the past and had to re-teach all of physics to the previous MRI class as a result but the school brought him back not only for our class but again for the class that followed ours. We were amazed that after all we went through and the negative history they still brought him back. The school attempts to be fast paced and rush the studying but doesn’t supply good teachers, good books or good resources. The anatomy book for example is intended for massage therapists and physical therapists. At the time of our class there was only a single skeleton missing many pieces. There is no physical MRI simulator here, only a hospital bed and a construction laser line hanging from the roof (See Photo). You’re supposed to lay under it and have someone set up a scan by moving the bed. Our class was promised monthly site visits by the recruiters but only had two site visits. You'd think for the $2700 a month each student pays they could invest a little into the class room and curriculum. I have literally spent my personal time making presentations and tests for the class because that particular teacher was not computer literate. You start off in medical terminology with Caesar who is a great teacher and everything will seem well. After 2 or 3 months depending on if he teaches medicolegal they move you to a different teacher and the trouble will start. Eventually our class did get a good teacher but she quit on the last day of class tired of dealing with the schools BS. Complaints result in the teacher getting in the line of fire because they weren't able to handle it themselves or the school attempting to sweep it under the rug. One class for example had a known drug user who has passed out in class high but they allowed him to return, later in the week he was found overdosed in his car. This place is just one bad decision and one shortcut after another. I was personally shown the door because I had come to the school director with class-wide issues. The owner of the school David personally came to our class and basically told us it is what is and if you dont like it you can go. Which is easy for them to say because the MRI credits don't transfer to other schools so all your money, work and time goes to waste if you leave. If you try and file a formal complaint the owner David and his staff will hold a meeting which you are not permitted to record but Silvia the director will take notes on and leave out any pertinent information that makes the school look bad. If you have a class wide complaint, follow my advice and GO AS A CLASS. They are your judge and jury so you have no recourse besides sending a letter to the ACCSC or filing a class action lawsuit but at least they can’t argue with numbers.Jeremy Boggs

PLEASE READ! DO NOT GO HERE! If I could give this school a rating lower than One star I would. I am a current student here for phlebotomy and the communication with the staff has been absolutely horrible. The coordinator that is suppose to find you site, Brittany Wilson, does not do her due diligence to get the clinics that you are to be attending prepared for your arrival and you are walking into (in most cases) a facility that is not COVID regulated, practicing unethical methods of venipuncture, and requiring you to do administrative work more than the actual internship you are there for. My classmates and I have complained to the management staff as well as Brittany herself and have gotten no where. The school has externship sites that they are not renewing the contract with and do not have insurance covering us going to these sites due to an expired contract. The first site I was placed at was Spanish speaking only, the second was practicing starting IVs and drawing blood with no gloves on, and the third that I was placed I was told that this site was fully aware of me starting on 3/15 with their clinic and notified staff (Leslie Kong, Brittany Wilson, Sylvia Espin) that I have taken off those days per that information. I EVEN HAD THE CONVERSATION OVER THE PHONE!!! CONFIMRING. Yesterday I receive an email stating that the site decided not to take me and my classmate. After speaking with Brittany Wilson no less than two days ago. This is ridiculous. This school just wants to take your money, not give you the proper supplies for education, and is not a reputable business. Nor as an academic facility do they have a library. Im a graduate from NP College I completed the Medical Assistant course. The school was great and the staff memebers are very helpful and nice. My recruiter was Maria Razo she was great and very helpful throughout the whole course i was there. Any questions or concerns i had her or Jeovanni help me.the hours are felxable and The material for each course was well explained and instructed. After the terminology and anatomy comes the hands on which i felt i learned so much from and made it more comfortable when i went out in the field. My teacher explained and showed us each technique well and gave us confidence when we felt like we couldnt do things and when it came for our final my teacher help me prep for the test and passed the first time. Graduation was great also. Over all the school was great and when graduating the school helped me get a job at HealthCare Partners right away and ive been with them for 6years now thanks to them helping me get here. So yes i would recommend this school not just for there Medical Assistant course but there other courses as well so take the time and if your looking for a career go check them out finacial services will also help you to see your payment options.KaT G.

Two years ago I had the good insight of enrolling in Concorde's PTA program. The program is run by knowledgeable Physical Therapists invested in quality education (Mary, Sam, Laura, Kelly, Dennis). They provided me with the necessary tools to start a new career and enter the work force feeling competent with my skills. The school has a department dedicated to assist graduates find a job, Alvy has personally helped me with this, he even rendered a mock interview so that I would show up to a possible employer as a strong and coherent candidate. Because the program is so well organized (from prerequisites to clinical rotations and even when/how to signing up for your board test!) it is easier to have a balance school/personal life. My experience at Concorde has truly been astounding. I joined the Medical Assistant program and my teacher Ms Tameka was nothing short of a great instructor. She was very patient, compassionate and dedicated to ensuring that every student learned even if it meant staying late or adapting the way she presented materials.The Financial staff Eva and Peetee were very efficient in handling my paperwork so that I could dedicate my focus to studying and be successful. Upon completion my graduate employment specialist Rocky was a true rockstar. Signed the Enrollment paperwork the first time and the start dates were wrong. By the time they sent me the enrollment paperwork to sign that had the right dates I had decided to not go to school there for various reasons, mostly because CCI doesn't work with any bank for student loans, they expect you to take out personal loans and lie to the banks about what you will use the money for (highly illegal). Told the school I would not be attending there and continue to get emailed almost every single night at midnight to sign my enrollment paperwork. I told the front desk staff 2 times that I would not be attending and to stop sending me emails and they continue to email me for weeks. Additionally 3 YEARS LATER they decided to send me to collections for $80 claiming I didn't pay the enrollment fee when I know I did because I paid it the exact same time as another student and they didn't send that student to collections. And since I didn't keep a paper recipient from 3 YEARS AGO then I have to pay through collections. Keep in mind CCI clearly had my email and phone number to contact me over a 3 year period to pay the enrollment fee, for the school I did not attend by the way, but instead of doing that they would rather send you to collections and hurt your credit score, over $80. Not once was in contacted about owing any money to the school. Let's just say I am so happy that I ended up not attending CCI, blessing in disguise.Danica Johnson

This is the most unorganized, unprofessional, unethical school I’ve experienced. They treat their students like elementary children, lie about funds, and demean you like you know absolutely nothing. I had a 4.0 the whole time I attended, yet there was a problem every single day whether it be with the unorganized clinical instructor who contradicted herself daily, or from student services, even the DON. All they want is your money they could care less about helping you through nursing school, or making sure you have what you need. As long as they’re paid, they don’t care. 95% of the staff are rude. My class didn’t start clinicals until mid level 2, when it was advertised and told to us that we would start WEEK SIX OF LEVEL 1. They try to blame it on covid, or the clinical sites, when in fact here just unorganized. I went to school here for Medical Assistant in 2016, enrolling was super easy and the staff were helpful with fafsa when I had no clue how that worked. I loved that it was a short fast 9 month program , and in class I definitely liked that the first 2 hours was book work & the other 2 hours we did all the hands on work! I had a great experience here having Ms. J as a teacher she made sure we did everything the right way & that we understood everything . But I do wish they held graduation at a different location other than outside at the school .Evelyn Nunez

A a Veteran transitioning to civilian life choosing a field and school was not easy. Upon researching schools for Electrical and reading reviews I chose Intercoast College Riverside due to their accreditation from the State and VA and great reviews. For those who are fellow Veterans I recommend this school due to the following. Intercoast was very informative and is a certified school by the state and VA. When I first started in January Pre-COViD and attending school everything was at a nice pace, we did lecture one day and practiced the next day what we went over for our lecture. The school supplied us with everything we needed to my surprise not cheap tools or limits when using product such as wires or devices to make connections. The simulations they have are small scale meant to build confidence when you do enter the field. When we transferred over to online the school did not disappoint with the lessons and virtual labs. I personally love being hands on but they made do with what was given to them. The instructors I had were seasoned Masters of their field not inexperienced instructors you might see somewhere else. My current instructor for the main Electrical course Ricardo Barrow and Antonio Tristan who I want to say have 60+years of experience and the introduction to the field Jason Ashbaugh who I might say has 20+years in the field introduced us to the basics of Electricity and construction. They have really gone above and beyond in trying to prepare us and giving us the proper critiques and corrections in order to learn not in demeaning ways but as mentors. Mayra De Leon who is my student success partner has been instrumental in my success dealing with transferring to hybrid online and getting everything I needed to stay successful with reminders and checking in to make sure we are not having issues with the course. Andrew De Luna who is the Career service coordinator has been a great help, he has gone above and beyond making sure that I received certifications that I have completed, for this reading this you will get your OSHA 10/CPR, and Electrical Trainee Card during this course on top of other certifications that will make you a competitive applicant. Over all I look forward to finishing, but will leave with a bittersweet taste due to leaving such great people and support.Alejandro Montoya

If you are looking for a hands on, approachable and knowledgeable staff and an outright outstanding education ( I studied alcohol and drug counseling) you are making a wise choice in researching ICC for your future. I attended this place an i will say it was a complete scam. Paid 20k in student loans and took a year course in electrical. We literally bent conduit twice they basically just give you a couple of books and waste your time. Only reason I learned anything was because i read the book. Nothing hands on seems they where hesitant to buy anything for the students to work on. They have a hvac course and we didn’t have AC for months it was hell in those rooms it was boiling. I brought a personal fan but when its 90 in a room in southern California desert during summer it doesn’t do much. He was always into some trouble 🙁 Fact was probation forced him to attend some type of college yes he was a trouble maker. Well he did the Medical Assistant program and he had a few instructors. However his last instructor was Ms. Aundrea and let me tell you if you attend this college and program you want her. She truly cares about her students success and no matter what was there when needed she was there to help. She has a lot of patience and dedication to her students. She had many talks with my relative and really turned his view on life and college around, we all doubted him but now he works in Fallbrook and his whole life if changed. He is off the streets, has a great career in a busy clinic and can provide for his family. This meant so much to our family because when everyone doubted him including us as relatives Ms. Aundrea didn’t she never gave up on his education and for that she changed his life around. Uei college was VERY DISAPPOINTING, i am a veteran, i started the hvac program @ the school when it was uei san marcos, after a lengthy transitions to a new building, the issues continued from no air to no power to use certain equipment. The administration focuses more on things like BS ceremonies and attendance versus actual application and advancedment of its students. The class days were filled with goin over the same things because there was limited to what we could do or had access to during the school year. Then after graduation they thing students are graduating with all this experience and u leave with the same amount as if u never went there. After graduation they consistently call with bad leads and never actually helped me found employment had to do so on my own. Being a 20 year army disabled veteran I have extreme anxiety PTSD paranoia guilt and remorse…. The dentist chair takes me back to when I was Cas-evaced strapped to a stretcher in a Humvee driver hit every pothole and bump in the road and I would go flying in the back… The first visit I had with these great people I couldn’t make it through a simple cleaning and I had to reschedule and have my wife present the staff reassured me and I was able to get a portion of the treatment done but not all of it because it’s just too much for me.. My son is on the spectrum and his anxiety with visiting the dentist is through the roof. And I totally get it, because I have had some bad experiences with other dentists in the past. However, the entire Doc Dental Smiles staff was friendly, went out of their way to make him feel comfortable and cared for. They were so patient and gentle. He had quite a few cavities, but they didn’t shame or fuss at him, like some dental offices do. They just showed him the problem, and then offered a complete plan of action to solve the problem. Adult braces! It’s as cringe worthy as it sounds. But, that’s exactly what I had to get …braces as an adult. I had a horrible bite and aligners alone wouldn’t solve my issue. So in my search for a nice bite and a decent smile, I came across Dr. Gray’s office. I can’t express how wonderful my experience has been. ( Okay, having a mouth full of metal is not wonderful but hear me out.) From day one they were very honest. First, they made it clear that I would not get the results I wanted without braces. So I went ahead and put my smile in their hands (Literally) …However, after a year, I was able to transition to aligners. (Thank goodness!) I am so thankful for this.
