4 Best Dental Assistant Programs In Colorado Springs, CO (2022 Updated)

I needed a same day appointment and had an extremely tight schedule; my regular dentist and their referral in the same building with Palmer Park Dentistry were not available, I called SO stressed (sorry to the kind woman tasked with scheduling my appointment which was when I was MOST tense.) I got an appointment the same day with Dr. Watson! From reception, to imaging, to the dentist, this experience was phenomenal! There was laughter in the halls! I took that as a good sign as my experience is generally not hearing “happiness” in a medical office. I let my husband know we would be making Palmer Park Dentistry our regular provider as soon as I got home from the pharmacy. I had a very bad teeth pain in my wisdom teeth. Fought pain all night. Got up and found This place. I told them what was going on. And they got me in that morning no question asked. Got me seen. They were honest with me did not sugar coat it. They checked my mouth and advise I should have them all removed. Which I did. Lord I would like to thank Nicole for helping keeping me calm. And Dr Alverson was amazing. The best dentist coach every. They differently showed me no matter how bad my mouth his they are here to help fix my issues. I have gone to many dentists in my life but I must say I truly appreciated my experience at Palmer park dentistry. The staff was friendly and the office was clean and organized . It has a very homey vibe. It never takes long to be seen or set an appointment. Normally I'm used to the dentist coming in and doing a quick check and then the hygienist doing it all but they are always so detailed with the exam and answer all my questions. she provided me with a wealth of knowledge when it comes to my concerns. I just recently switched over to Crossroads Family Dentistry and was glad that I did. I could not believe the advanced technology they had, along with the professional Dentist, Dr. Crystal Mendoza, DDS, and Registered Dental Hygienist, Chandra, that I was introduced to for my first check-up. Both were GREAT to let me know and understand procedures that would be necessary in the very near future in order to avoid major concerns and additional costs to me. One of these procedures, not mentioned in my past dental check-ups with previous dentist, was a couple of front cracked teeth, that if left alone, would eventually crack all of the way through, and most likely been a disaster since they would no longer be able to put a cap on them. I really appreciate that a lot and plan on getting that procedure done in the next month. Chandra gave me a teeth cleaning that I had never experienced with any of my past dentist visits with others. She let me know every step of the way what to expect and let me know everything that she was going to do prior to each step in order to make me feel comfortable. I thank Dr. Mendoza and Chandra as they both exceeded way beyond my expectations and I am so happy that I am now a patient at Crossroads Family Dentistry to say the least!!!!! I moved to Crossroads last year after going to a much smaller local practice for decades. The place is huge, able to accommodate many patients at once, and the equipment is the new and up to date. Each time I've been, Dr Tyng has been personable and patient, taking time to explain what he sees, options, next steps, and answer any questions. I love that the care plan for extra work includes all pricing so that you know what you're getting in to. Bonus points for a wonderfully diverse staff from the receptionist to the hygienists to the dentists!Christina Gillette

I came to crossroads because they were one of the few in the area that offered ICON treatment. I ended up doing the full whitening treatment with them as well, and I am so happy with my experience and results! They worked with my schedule to get me the new bright smile I wanted for my wedding. I am actually going to switch them to my main dentist after my experience! I saw Dr. DeLeon my first couple of visits, then Dr. Tyng for ICON. Both are great! I’m really disappointed with how this course turned out. There were several days where we would run out of material and would sit on our phones for hours waiting for the class time to be officially over. We worked on x-rays and identifying teeth for the majority of every class, which ended up being extremely repetitive. If you plan on being in ANY specialty other than general dentistry, I would not recommend wasting 10 Saturdays to attend this course. I honestly feel that this course is not worth the amount being charged. For being over $3,000, I would expect to be busy and learning new hands on things for many specialties for the entirety of every single class, not sitting on my phone waiting for 1:00 to roll around. One of the instructors was really rude. Unfortunately she was the one who graded our midterms based on spelling, and marked everyone down on one of the questions that SHE was spelling wrong. Our grades were not fixed, and when admin was alerted of the unfair nature of the grading and her attitude? we were met with “well it’s going to happen in the real world so they need to expect it.” I’m really disappointed in how this course was handled and even more upset that I lost $3,000 for it. One good thing about it is the other 2 instructors, Brittney and Alexis. They’re super nice and Alexis even helped me with how to move throughout the industry, giving me study materials, and giving super helpful information about the industry in general. I cannot say enough good things about this program! Natalie is the best instructor I have ever crossed paths with. She is so thorough in her teaching and truly cares about her students. The program is very hands on and in depth when it comes to the lessons. The reading material and homework assignments are so informative and really go hand-in-hand with the work you do in the lab. I received an internship about 3/4 of the way through this program, which turned into a full time job when I graduated. I have truly never felt more prepared for any job than when I graduated with my certificate's from this program. Natalie and her team really do give you all the tools you need to succeed in this field. "You know a lot more than my last assistant who completed a nine month program." If you’re thinking about going to school to be a dental assistant I definitely recommend this school, they’re so awesome, very supportive, and even after graduating they are still available to talk with you and help you with finding a job! Natalie is awesome with navigating you on how to find a job, giving pep talks and helping you stay confident before going to interviews! Justine is an absolutely amazing instructor and takes the time to make sure that you have all of the study tools you need to help you learn. Sarah was also a very awesome instructor and also took her time to go over everything we were learning in class! It was a really great program in the beginning but it became unorganized! We forgot a whole chapter to go over and just did open book test and still didn’t go over the chapter.. it’s 13 weeks program but they just Jam everything in… We had two teacher who were not on the same page and didn’t get along so when zoom meets happen they never got through it! I get it we have long nights but it not right for the teacher to snap on the students because she had a long day… would you rather take a 13 week program and still not have all your certification or a 9months- 2 year program and have all of you certification…Jaswane Sealey
