Review Summary
I am a 2020 high school graduate and this was the best decision I have ever made for my self. I decided instead of going to a big college and putting myself in major debt, I would start here by getting my CNA. This was a five week program and when it’s completed you not only receive your CNA but you receive for HHA as well. It has already opened the door to multiple job opportunities for me with competitive pay rates as a recent graduate! This school cares about you and they go above and beyond to help you not just with school but with anything you need. Our instructor was Marcia Jackson and she for sure was hands down the best you could ask for. She will go out of her way to help with anything you need (personal or educational). She gives tips and tricks to make these way easier and she becomes a friend that you can confide in if needed be. She cares about her students and the group of people I had in my class became a big family and we all have outstanding grades just by the way she teaches!! Thank you VERY much for the opportunity to go to this school, it is HIGHLY recommended in my bookTaylor Bristol
I don’t normally give reviews but I highly recommend BNA! I entered BNA with no knowledge of the medical Field or what I really wanted to do. Today, I passed my CNA state exam, something that I never thought id be doing. And I give thanks to my instructor Mrs Marcia Jackson. She is an amazing teacher, she took time to really explain medical information I didn’t understand as well show us how to be successful doing our skills. And she never got tired of answering my questions, she is my Angel! And like her, the rest of the staff are just amazing from the secretary (Stephanie) who convinced me that I could do the CNA program to Mrs Mardella who helped guide me through clinicals. Truly an amazing school who care and go over and beyond. Thank you Brevard Nursing Academy, I pray I can one day come back for the LPN program with Mrs Marcia hopefully as an LPN instructor! ☺️Trisha Annamarie Ruiz
I went to the CNA program and loved it, from the beginning to the end, was welcomed and treated nicely by the staff. They guided me through all the steps needed to enter the program and be successful. Ms. Marcia is simply amazing. I highly recommend her. Her passion for teaching and caring for others made this program a great experience. She made the class fun and tought us everything we needed to know to succeed in both, the tests and in the skills. Overall I had a great time and was given the skills and experience needed to go out there and feel confident in my ability to care for others. Thanks to the amazing people who work here, I was given the opportunity to help and care for others.Miguel Rivera

Review Summary
After reading many positive reviews I was thrilled to begin class last March with Horizon Healthcare Institute. Mrs. Dominque, who I believe is the head of the institute, is attentive and kind. However, I am saddened by the education our class received during our four weeks. Our instructor Mrs. Janice was lovely and very knowledgeable, but struggled to provide us with the material in the hours we were scheduled to be in class. Our class would ask when certain material would be coming up, unfortunately most of the time she did not know. The syllabus was not updated at the beginning of the course, I believe it has not been updated since Covid. This may have contributed to the confusion of our instructor, ultimately leaving us confused and off track. We were not taught all the practical skills in person and were only hands on 2 of the 4 days we were in class. The last day they dismissed us an hour early… I am happy they provide videos online for the practical skills, however with the cost of the class, it was ideal to be taught in person and for us to learn hands on with the limited time provided. Our final exam in class (not the state exam) consisted of information that was not in the textbook or taught over zoom meetings/in class. All four of us failed the first try, and the three others failed their 2nd attempt. I feel this result represents the teaching of the program. We were also told the exam would be administered to us the last day of class, but instead was given to us 2 weeks after the course was scheduled to finish. With the certificates we received for the class, such as Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens, and HIV/AIDS, it’s listed on the certificate that we received 4-6 contact hours as required by Florida Statue, however we only watched less than an hour long video for these subjects and took a quiz, that is all. CPR training consisted of a 40 minute video, a quiz, and in class teaching which was rushed through our last day and we did not do any hands on. With this, I feel ginormous corners were cut. After completing the course and applying for jobs, interviewers were very surprised to learn we completed 24 clinical hours in a very small 6 bed privately owned assisted living facility. There were three others in my class who felt the same with the teaching, lack of structure, and lack of hands on. I am thrilled to have passed the state exam, however I feel ill prepared for this career. It may have been an off month for the institute, but I feel inclined to leave this review as it was not only myself that felt this way about the course. I am saddened by this experience and very regretful to have chosen Horizon Healthcare Institute for the CNA program.Alex Bula
Horizon Health Care Institute- Melbourne. This institution offered me everything and more.. A knowledgeable and capable instructor, hands on learning, great curriculum and a positive community! The environment alone was something I enjoyed so much, its welcoming and uplifting and so positive.. They truly thrive off of their students success and happiness. Mrs. Dominique herself showed me so much grace and support through my time there.. she did everything possible to make sure that as long as I was committed and determined – that I would make it through my program successfully. Personally- I had a situation arise to where I was unable to get my number of sticks necessary to complete my Phlebotomy program.. she graciously allowed me back into another class to complete the physical part of the course. Without that opportunity I would not have completed my program successfully.. and of course this was not something she or the school owed me in any way. I am forever grateful for that opportunity.. So if you are trying to choose your campus/ institute to go for you certifications.. I 1000% recommend without a doubt Horizon Health Care !!Ashley Pichaj
I attended this school and EARNED my LPN license. You DO have to work for it, it will not just be handed to you, but such is the case with any nursing program. I had a scheduling conflict due to a death in the family and HHI worked with me to accommodate my schedule even when they were not obligated to do so. I had Mrs. Beverly as a teacher and she was awesome!!! She will do whatever it takes for you to understand the material. She even caters to each students individual learning style. I experienced a minor set back on one final exam due to the circumstances of life and the administration worked with me and I was all the better for it. The enrollment process was easy and you really do get one on one attention while attending this school. My teacher even called to check on me after I had graduated, passed the NCLEX and started working. The individualized approach is like none other. If you want it bad enough HHI will do whatever it takes to help get you there.!!!John Shaver
