When I graduated high school I never really planned to go to a 4 year college because I wasn’t the sitting in the classroom type. Then I started kinda looking into something more hands on and then when I found Latrice and I started my journey I was definitely nervous but being around everyone there and being in such a great environment you will never be nervous again. We're now in our second year of happy partnership with Complete Home Care of America. We moved my elderly parents down to Greenville from NC back in September 2018 and had originally contracted with another local company for non-medical home care. Things went just fine for some time, but eventually they began to shy away from the increasing levels of things like memory care and bathing assistance that my parents needed. They actually suggested to me that mom and dad really "belonged" in a nursing home. Noooo! That was the very reason they were brought in to begin with- to help me keep my parents at home. For lack of a nicer way of putting it- they just called up and quit on us. Now what were we to do? Then we were blessed (by God, I believe) to discover Tom Haas and his team at Complete Home Care of America here in Greenville. It is my understanding that Tom's father actually started the business years ago in order to help keep his parents at home. So they get it! And these folks have since proven to be exactly who we needed. And it IS a partnership. In fact, we couldn't do this without them. They have been wonderful to work with and have helped me keep both my parents at home- healthy even through Covid-19 and away from nursing facilities. They employ friendly workers who are warm, conscientious and reliable- fine, dependable people you'll enjoy having in your home. Tom, along with his scheduling assistants Katie and Victoria can be relied upon to address any special requests or concerns I have in a very timely manner. We currently employ Complete Home Care of America to provide daily assistance for my 99 year old mom who lives with us. We moved Mom into our home in November from an independent living retirement center. She had become a fall risk, was sleeping most of the time and seemed to have lost interest in things she used to enjoy. Since bringing in our caregiver, we have seen incredible improvements in her cognitive skills, mobility and quality of life. With the individual attention and encouragement she is receiving from Carla Bowman , her caregiver, her overall health is much improved and she is doing things for herself that she was no longer able to do on her own. This morning she got up, dressed herself, put on some makeup and was sitting in her chair asking to go out for breakfast. Totally amazing from where she was 2 months ago. I took this course to get more hands on experience with patients as a CNA for PA school. Mrs studstill is a great teacher she is very firm but she knows what she is doing. With years of prior knowledge in the medical field Mrs.Studstill helped me pass her class, and state testing my first time. By being 17, the youngest in her class, and still going to high school proves that this class was not a waste of time and was well worth it! First Light began helping my mother around June of 2015 and their Caregivers helped my mom until she passed in October 2020. My mom lived in an Independent Living Senior Residence and was able to take care of everything herself for 10 years. When she started having some trouble getting dressed and up to breakfast on time, First Light Caregivers started coming to help with that. Through the next 5 years, the caregivers did more and more things to help my mom keep her independence and not have to move to Assisted Living. Besides helping my mom, First Light helped me as primary caregiver by making me feel confident that my mom’s needs were being taken care of whether I was there or not. The caregivers were so kind and helpful to my mom. She called the caregivers”Her Girls”. She loved them and it didn’t take long to see that they loved my mom as a person and not just a client.My mom ended up having the same caregivers the last few years and they truly became family to my mom and our whole family. There are not enough words to list all the things the caregivers did for my mom( and in turn, for me) for the last 5 years of her life. First Light was with my mom , even after Hospice had to be called in. My mom had dementia for her last few years and may have forgotten the names of some of her caregivers, but I could always see the recognition and trust in her eyes when she saw them. Their love and support was amazing and so appreciated.. My mom’s longest caregiver drove almost 200 miles to our hometown to attend my mom’s funeral. I was surprised to see her there at first, but in my heart I knew she would be with my mom until the very end. I ( and my whole family) have so much love and gratitude for First Light and my mom’s caregivers. They truly were a Godsend to us all, but especially to my mom. Do not use this company. I just got off the phone with Jim and was appalled at the way he spoke to me. I am and have been a customer with them for my mother. I can not say enough good things about Michelle but will not use their services again or recommend them. They did not honor the follow up that Jenny and I discussed as far as monitoring my mothers medicine machine. I have called them and stated that I was not getting notifications when the machine was not dispensing. I was told they would look into it. I have never received a follow up call from them. I contacted them because my mother's machine had not dispensed her medicine for at least 7 days. This I was informed when I contacted Philips directly. No one from First Light contacted me but they were faxed notifications from Philips. Jim was extremely rude to me. I have never been spoken to by anyone like he did me. I had not established the account with him but he was telling me what they do not do, even though Jenny and I had made arrangements. When I asked him if he was copping an attitude with me he responded with, "Are you copping an attitude with me?" Is that how you speak with a customer who is clearly upset because her mother was not receiving her medicine? I recommend contacting Philips yourself and ordering from them.CJ McAuley
In April 2014 it became evident that my aging parents were going to need assistance if they were going to be able to remain in their home. I reached out to Jim at FirstLight to discuss our situation. Within a couple of days Jim and Jenny were meeting with my parents and me to ascertain their needs and develop a care plan. I have been very pleased with the caregivers that they have provided. The caregivers showed a great deal of care and attention to my mother as she progressed through the stages of dementia. For over two years they provided great care through the time my mother passed. Since then FirstLight has continued to provide caregiver services to my dad. They are truly involved with the patient with follow up in home visits by management and provided updates to me and to my siblings. It was the only option that made sense so why not? When I started my classes I soon came to realize that it wasn't just a school, it was a community. It was strangers that became friends, and teachers that truly believed in me and wanted me to succeed. Going through a struggling stage in my life I came to realize that I had made the right decision furthering my education with a group of teachers and classmates that truly wanted me to THRIVE. They aren't a school that just "wants you to pass" they build you up, cheer you on and support you. Not only did I pass but I moved on to thrive in the dental field. The knowledge I was taught stayed with me for years after. It allowed me to land some great jobs working for the best Dentist and Orthodontist. If you are thinking about going to Capstone to obtain your education, this is your sign to GO! You will not regret it. When you get that first job opportunity you will know your work paid off, you will be thankful for all the time spent studying, you will want to hug every single teachers neck and thank them! I’m currently attending Capstone for dental assisting. Unfortunately my class seems to have way too many students for the amount of teachers during clinic. Lecture is great but there is a lot of waiting around in clinic due to there being too many students. This program would be excellent if instructors could be more focused on a smaller group of students. I also feel like the teachers are too easy on us. I think we should really be questioned and put on the spot so we are confident in what we are doing and learn from the things we did wrong.Garden Goddess

I have given blood three times at The Grove Road location. The first two times were pleasant enough, the experience was okay. This last time when she inserted the needle it hurt like hell. My mom was admitted to ProMedica Rehab on Sulphur Springs Rd. in SC on December 13, 2021 and have been neglected since day two. 1. The facility on December 14th rescheduled an appointment to the Cancer Center without notifying the family. We found out she had the appointment after a family member called to see how mom's day was. We were informed the appointment was made the morning of and no one thought to call the family so someone would be their to support mom. 2. December 21, 2021 at 5:53 pm. A daughter walked into mom's room and a staff member was changing mom and her bed linen and notice mom's body language and face was that of fear. Mom was trembling, the staff member did not say anything to reassure the daughter that mom was okay. 3.December 24,21, a resident of the facility wondered into mom's room early in the morning. The resident was staggering around the room and fell on the floor. He was bleeding and left blood on the empty bed in the room. Mom stated that she was yelling for the staff and trying to find her call button. The call button was pinned on the curtain out of her reach. No one came to check on the situation and the man wonder back into the hallway. When I came into mom's room at 9 am the bloody bed linen was still on mom's bed. I stripped the bed and the cleaning staff put the linen in a plastic bag. 4. December 25,21, mom fell out of her bed. Mom stated she fell when it was dark outside and they found her when it was light outside. She stated she yelled and opened and closed the drawer on the night stand table to get the attention of the staff. She was found and put back into her bed. Her left knee was bruised and skinned. The staff called us with no concerned or urgency. My family and I asked questions with no answers. I was told no incident report would be made and that the fall would be discussed in the morning meeting, 5.December 26th 5 pm another daughter found my mom in destress. Mom had tears running down her face and her nose was running. My sibling got the impression my mom had been crying. The nurse was in the room and she kept stating mom had been changed and it was rough on her. Mom did not agree or deny the statement. Mom has been left in her waste for hours and now has sores on her buttock. The skin is so bad that she is bleeding. Mom is not washed and changed daily. My siblings and I have had to ask the staff to change mom's clothing and briefs. We also have come in mom's room and changed her brief and clothing. These staff members have not been helpful to our family. Tonya the nurse Supervisor on the 100 hall. She has been very rude, confrontational, ignoring my mom's call light/button, she will not give information to the Nurse Practitioners when we ask her too and she has made my family feel we have not right to ask for anything for mom. Tonya did not want to give my mom a breathing treatment the was ordered by the Nurse Practitioner. I did asked to speak to the Meisha the DON or Chris Patrie the Administrator and never was contacted by them to date, 12/29/21. I was given the opportunity to speak to Jodi Clack, Social Services my concerns. At first Jodi did not believe our concerns until I gave her the dates and times along with the incidents.. Today 12/29/21 I was told mom has Covid, we so uncomfortable with mom being in the facility with family contact. I would advise anyone that is looking at this facility as a place for your care or your family member …PLEASE RECONSIDER!!!!Judy Wardlaw
Hi my loved one was just admitted and it’s not easy placing a loved one in a facility! My nerves was shot but the compassion and welcoming Nikki gave me was awesome she explained to me that this does not have to be his forever home however she could still see I was un easy about it so she told me her mother and sister was there before and how much they loved it and that the therapy department is amazing and even took the time to walk me on a tour of the facility. She was absolutely amazing she apologized because I noticed she had a tattoo on her arm and when I noticed I said something however I assume she thought maybe I was gonna say something negative but I was not I was actually admiring the work and this is just a example of the way the world is evolving she may have tattoos and had a hoodie on with the sleeves rolled up instead of in a pair of scrubs but she was more professional and compassionate and loving then any one else that I have come into contact with there and I just want this noted that she is simply amazing and I hope y’all recognize this because this young lady made a big difference in whether or not my loved one was staying or going if it wasn’t for her I would have took my loved one home right then!Williams Kieosha
They try to correct issues with my mother’s placement but then got it very wrong by sending her to an assisted living center when she required skilled nursing. And now that she’s out of there, it’s not their problem. They sent her to Reid House and now Reid House has kicked her out because they don’t have what she needs for care. My mother will be homeless soon if someone doesn’t help. Calling me back to tell me you’re gonna help and then shuffling her off to the wrong place is NOT help! You told Reid House that she is walking with a walker and can transfer and self toilet when she most certainly cannot. This is sad and frustrating. She fell during her brief two hours at Reid House and is now back in the hospital waiting on placement- again!Pamela Aaralyn

I had just recently moved to South Carolina and was looking to continue my education and get myself working a job that I loved, but it was hard balancing school and having a baby. PMTC made it possible! I love that their classes are two days a week and that they have flexible times for if I needed days or nights. It made it so much easier going to school knowing I wouldn’t be spending too much time away from my family. I took my CNA and had the best experience, I learned so much and got one on one when I needed it and never felt rushed or left behind. I also love how they have different companies come in and talk to the students..because of this I left at the end of my class with a job already!! It was perfect. Not to mention they are so affordable and they help you all the way up until you take your state exams and even after by offering job fairs! I am actually going back to get my phlebotomy! I am a current phlebotomy student at PMTC and I absolutely love the program. My teacher is Ms. Fitch she has been great. She makes learning easy; breaking down the information so that we understand what we are learning. She is passionate about the field and it shows through her desire to teach both the course information and clinical. The United Ministries Learning Center helps people who want to be helped. Working with people who are motivated to learn is a joy. Being able to help someone overcome the perceived barriers they may have faced in their past educational experiences, and help them realize their potential, is priceless. As a volunteer, I believe I get more from the volunteer tutoring experience than the students get. PLEASE READ REVIEW ITS LONG BUT WORTH IT! Where can I begin ? I started off with the admissions counselor Kathy, I told her I was interested in the LPN, RN or Medical Assistant program . She followed up in the beginning which was great. I came and took my TEAS test for LPN then I took English and math for medical assistant. I could barely make a decision because it’s like she is trained like a salesman to quickly make you make a decision instead of following up with her . I quickly decided medical assistant . I went over the details with my parents like I told her and the next day she was leaving multiple voice messages and calling me from different numbers about financial aid . Long story short I explained to her that I was getting frustrated after a WEEK having 10 VOICEMAILS AND 20 missed calls from her about my FINANCIAL AID . I put that in bold because they are seriously only about the money . After I told her my parents and I were still looking over it she threatens to cancel my application and I wasn’t ready for school and HANGS UP the phone on me . I called her back multiple times and she did not answer then started ignoring it after the first ring straight to voicemail. The director of admissions Michael Baker called me back and claimed it was an “internet issue” and she “tried” to call me back . Funny all of a sudden I didn’t receive not one voicemail or multiple calls like how Kathy called about the money . He was very rude and unprofessional about the issue . Mr. Baker made it seem as if Kathy did not do anything wrong and it was a “internet issue” . I am beyond frustrated I would NOT RECOMMEND this school to anyone . And I have told my coworkers that I work with at the hospital and they will definitely NOT attend this school after what happened . The University itself is awesome, the instructors go out of their way to help you meet your goals in order to graduate and be successful. However once you graduate the career recruiter is suppose to help you get into a career of your major. Needless to say I graduated a year in half ago, and yet still unemployed. The career recruiter does absolutely nothing to help you get a job; most of the time doesn’t even return your calls. Once you go over their head to get results the career recruiter will email you a few job links but other than that, that’s about it. I completely understand the economy isn’t in the best conditions but most of the people who are receiving jobs it’s because they know someone directly or have a connection on the inside. I don’t feel the career recruiter is really helping by emailing a few job links. This only allows you to get lost in the flooded resume pile that the companies are already receiving. The whole point of having a recruiter is to basically cut out the middle man, and help you get noticed. That kind of service hasn’t been provided to me or any other students I graduated with. Some of my former classmates are working now (because of the jobs they found own their own), but was forced to take any job that could get. Unfortunately most are making the same or even less than what they was earning before they even received their degrees. When considering going back to college make sure you do your research on EVERYTHING, and not just the academics program. The academics are great, but once you’re finished your own your own, which is sad because the university got paid well for my education. Overall I rate the university at a 4. I loved the university as well as the instructors but the after experience not so well.M. Freeman
My husband graduated from ECPI in December of 2017 and was allowed to walk in the graduation ceremony in June 2018. They've yet to give him his degree certificate and it's been 2 years now since he's walked. He's a veteran and used the GI Bill to pay for his schooling at ECPI. The money was only exchanged from the hands of the VA to ECPI; therefore, we never received a penny of it. We're now getting phone calls from collection agencies stating that he owes for part of his schooling which wouldn't be correct because he 1. Graduated full and 2. Was allowed to walk in the ceremony which they don't allow if certain criteria isn't met just like most colleges/universitys. With this being said, we've contacted the financial advisors at the Greenville location and even contacted the President of the college and have received zero help from them. This is making me feel like this is an ITT Tech situation to where they take their students money and never give them an actual valid degree. But oh boy, did ECPI make sure that they contacted every local news site to share my husbands story of supporting her through college while he went into the army instead. ECPI had them show up to the graduation ceremony and made sure to get their name out in the local newspapers/tv stations. We feel as though they're used him for marketing purposes and now haven't fulfilled their end of the deal by just sending him his degree which he earned. I wouldn't recommend this institution to any veteran for the chance they may do the same to you because he's not the only one from his graduating class this has happened to.Kayla Hill

so far I'm not impressed. I arrived at noon…..I have only seen 3 workers since I've arrived despite having rung the bell at 9:30 pm and my issue wasn't addressed even at 1:41 am. I have two bandages that must be replaced by a nurse …she told me she was going to another hallway to get the bandage and never returned despite me calling and reminding them **edit** after a long evening a nurse came in and changed everything….bandage was changed, meds were given, but most importantly she returned and she communicated what the problem was. This morning Larissa asked me what occured and COMMUNICATED with me where issues were. I am going to see how this goes with fresh eyes and a new day.Tanya Houtz
WARNING! Do not take your loved one to this home! The head of Physical Therapy ensured my sister and me that my mother could walk 30 feet, but when I picked her up Oct. 2021, she could not stand by herself! When I spoke to the Nursing Assistants who were present they said that there was NOTHING they could do because she had already been discharged and wished me the best of luck! Now they keep billing me although my mother passed last December 1st and I told them that. They wanted my mother gone because she didn't have private insurance. It is so sad that a person can work their entire life and all the nursing homes care about is money! CHECK THEIR REVIEWS, 1 or 2 out of 5!!!Sandra Boykin
After reading some of these views I disagree. The staff are great people. They were very helpful and showed a tremendous amount of sympathy and empathy towards my aunt and my family. My aunt was there 2 months ago and they gave her great care. My aunt never complained and in fact always bragged about the great care that she received from the staff. In fact she always talked about how great an understanding the staff was to her. The Admissions team did a great job with transitioning her from the hospital to the facility. If my family or my aunt ever had to choose a facility for her to return to it would definitely bewould Greenville Post Acute.Jenn F.

I have no idea how anyone could have had a 5 star experience at this facility. Dirty and outdated. I could overlook that if at least the staff was nice and caring. Very rude. Not knowledgeable. Did not respond in a timely manner. Defensive when asking questions or raising concerns. Management I dealt with made excuses for rude and unprofessional staff and told me she would be back with answers that the nurse refused to answer. After waiting for almost 2 hours, I asked was she coming back was told that she left. 😳 If visitors get this kind of treatment, I can only imagine the care the patients get. This place is AWFUL. My papa went in with a good bit of clothes and it got down to only a few pieces of clothing, Money of my papas was stolen, I went in on a Sunday to visit him and there was money in his night stand (I made sure to check), that same day he passed away and I came to get his stuff the very next day and his money was gone, no where to be found. This is NOT the first time that has happened. He was also left in dirty diapers which gave him bed sores that got infected. This place needs to be shut down!! If you have a problem at NHC you can start at the bottom with a nurse and go all the way to the Administrator and still get no satisfaction. The administrator basically puts it back in the hands of the nurse manager to handle and it never gets handled. Knowing he is going to do nothing, you just give up and don't bother to complain to him again. Director of nursing does the same thing. There are nurses who allow mean patients to physically hurt other patients regularly and don't do anything to avoid it happening again. They separate the patients today and put them right back together again tomorrow. If you have a patient who mistreats other patients, you should be sure to seat that patient away from other innocent people. When you complain about it, the nurse manager tells you they cant do that, everyone gets to sit anywhere they want to at any given time. What are you going to do when someone gets really hurt? Say it was an accident? It isn't an accident if you know it has happened numerous times and you keep parking the same violent person with the same people. The nurse managers we have dealt with on 2 different units are not leadership material. They seem to care more about gossiping about the residents families, telling their employees personal business and problems to other employees and being friends with their staff than managing their staff. The CNAs can sit at the nurses desk with their backs to their hall (that they are responsible for) and the nurse manager sits right there with them while call lights are on up and down the hall (I have pics). The CNAs we deal with are lazy and have really bad attitudes. We have spoken to the nurse manager and director of nursing but nothing gets done. If a patient calls for help it is 10-15 minutes before they show up in the room and then there is an attitude. Patients who cannot take care of themselves, sit in their own spoiled clothes or bed while the CNAs stand around the nurses station eating and talking. Patients who require feeding get fed without the CNA trying to talk to them with them at all. Instead they get on their cell phones and stick food in their mouth every few minutes. This would be a perfect time to interact. Some patients who can feed themselves might have a bad day and not touch their food and no one notices because no one is watching or interacting. They come and take the trays away and do not care or make anyone aware that the patient didn't touch their food. My family has witnessed numerous times, patients who have memory problems try to make conversation with the CNAs or nurses and they look at them and look away not responding at all. I feel that if you are in this line of work, you should go out of your way to try to make your patients last days as enjoyable as possible. I watched a resident ask for more tea a few days ago, the CNA said "you don't need no more." The resident asked again a few minutes later and the CNA said "you're done eating I'm going to put you to bed." They start putting residents to bed as soon as they get done eating and sometimes before, forcing them to eat in bed when they usually socialize with their friends for dinner. Let these people enjoys their last days and if that is too much for you, find another job. If NHC would get their nurses, nurse managers and CNAs in check they could have a wonderful place. The social workers and activity directors are fabulous and go out of their way to make the patients smile. On one particular morning, as soon as one social worker walked away from speaking to a patient the CNA rolled her eyes at the other CNA who then laughed and they start talking about her needing to "stop acting like she something." This is said so that residents and families visiting can hear. If a social worker or activity director goes out of her way to stop and speak to a particular resident in the hallway, call her by name and chat with her for a minute, a CNA or nurse should not judge because that is what YOU should be doing yourself.Johnnie Davidson
Everything was great except for our experience with 1 tall, rude, blonde-haired nurse , but it was so awful I have to give the whole facility a low score because they allow her to work there. On the morning of my mother’s discharge day, she was having a stroke and kept telling this nurse she felt like she was falling, felt weak, back was hurting, felt like she had no control over her limbs. The nurse was rude and asked if she wanted to go to the hospital. My mom said “no” because she felt as if she was burdening this nurse. I was on the phone with my mom, in route to pick her up. She was telling me how she felt. When I saw her they were dressing a “limp noodle” and asking her “can you lift this arm to put in your blouse?” Etc etc. I immediately knew something was different and alerted this tall, rude, blonde-haired nurse. She said she didn’t see any difference in my mom and has worked with her before and nothing is different. She also said “your mom doesn’t want to go to the hospital when I asked.” The CNA who was bathing her said something is definitely different. Just as I said I would call 9-1-1 myself, the nurse decided she would. My concern: Staff kept saying she was a good nurse….so why did she watch my mom have a stroke for an hour and behave rudely and not proactively call ER? She was so rude when I arrived it was unbelievable because she knew I disagreed with her assessment of my mom. She refused to speak to me on my way out and wouldn’t even LOOK at me. She gave my moms belongings to a nurse supervisor that I have never spoken to before. ER came in to assess my mother right outside her room and also said this looked like a stroke. My mother, in fact, WAS having a stroke and ended up in the hospital for a month with swallowing issues, loss of use of right hand and right leg. The nurse never apologized and behaved like a 15 year old. Others apologized FOR her. I often wonder if my mother would be in better shape had this nurse listened and used her expertise to help my mom, rather than being rude to a 75 year old in the midst of a life-changing stroke.LaSaundra Caldwell
I will start this off by stating ONE star is being generous. NHC is far from great. The tone of any facility is set by administration. Upon meeting individuals who are in charge at NHC one would assume they are tender hearted caring individuals. This simply is not the case. Management condones negligent behavior of the staff, simply categorizing it as an "off day." No one here is willing to accept responsibility for their actions or lack there of. There is most definitely no accountability. The administrator patronized my family and I stating that our emotional state was clouding the perception of events. This is laughable and beyond offensive. I walked into my grandmother unresponsive and unattended. Her situation was near fatal. I called an ambulance for her myself after asking the medical staff to do so–no verbal or physical action taken on the staff's part. Unacceptable? Absolutely. Unacceptable to administrators at NHC Greenville? Of course not! The nurse was just having "an off day!" "Off days" are not allowed when lives are at stake! NHC Greenville: hold yourself and your staff to a higher standard. If you are unwilling to hold individuals accountable, you should re-evaluate your own position as management. Anyone reading this: If YOU are considering NHC Greenville for a loved one, ask yourself if you are willing to be fooled by the facade of the administration and the aesthetics of the building in sacrifice of your loved one's mental, physical and possible entire being–meaning DEATH at the staff's ill trained, unresponsive hands! NHC's incompetence and negligence nearly killed my grandmother. Don't let what happened to our family happen to yours or anyone else's.T Ford
