A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. I say if you over 30 years like me this college is not for you. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. I took Acting & Gymnastics classes growing up as a kid @ KCC; along with taking other performing arts enrichment classes @ Brooklyn College also while growing up, although Brooklyn College wasn't affiliated with my high school like KCC was. KCC has a great campus for a CUNY two-year college (one of the nicest in the CUNY system being right on Manhattan Beach) and is also the partner CUNY institute with my High School alma mater, Edward R. Murrow whom it operates the CollegeNow! program with. I spent my Junior and Senior years at Murrow taking KCC college-level courses taught by both Murrow faculty, and visiting KCC faculty (at Murrow) as well as commuting to the KCC campus from Murrow for additional classes that could only be taught on-site @ the KCC campus. It was EXTREMELY academically enriching to be able to enjoy a college level curriculum whilst still being in High School; and that was due directly to KCC's collaboration with my high school. My GPA went up as a result of the CollegeNow! program during my last two years at Murrow as did my SAT scores. I have KCC to thank for that. 👍👏👏👏👏Ben Schaeffer

Kingsborough CC has a very nice entertainment program, well-run and well-sited, with both indoor and outdoor venues. This year's 4-part post-pandemic return to their July outdoor series has been a real winner for the 3 weeks of it so far, with decent weather enhancing the winning combination. Performers have commented on how well-received they are when they come to perform there, from an enthusiastic staff that really respects their art, to receptive audiences. That reputation has allowed audiences to see a number of top-notch acts more than once there, as the artists appreciate that respectful treatment. There have been other events there, all of which were interrupted by COVID since it came around, so there will be needed time to get those back on track. There are cautionary protocols in place even now: those attending must provide proof of vaccination, with masks optional. Not sure of masking will or will not be required once the indoor events resume, but it certainly appears that the staff has kept up-to-date with everything necessary.N H Tanner

edit, update: ended up coming to the conclusion that because all of this uncertanty and my bad living situation I am dropping out, I did all I could, was not met halfway by anone but professors unless I begged here. do not go here if you're poor. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. Do not waste your money. This school is a rip-off. My daughter took the EKG and Phlebotomy courses and throughout both courses only received one day of clinical in each area and they were not full days of practice since the school does not use manikins and the students had to practice the phlebotomy on each other and they could not stick each other but so many times…smh. Upon completion, my daughter received the run around trying to get an internship, and during the one internship interview that she went on the doctor told her that she really did not have anything for her as she was just asked to take another intern who was a relative of someone at the school, but she didn't what to tell my daughter no over the phone. She just had her waste her time and gas so she could experience an interview and tell her no in person…really? The school looked like a waste of time from the beginning and I should have gone with my instincts and gone to a reputable program.B. Manuel

I did my ultrasound course from here and my experience was great . Dr. Ayub and his lectures was awesome and he is always there for you in any guidance or questions even after completion of the course. The good thing is that they give hospital internships placement which actually enrich our skill and opportunities to learn varieties of cases and makes you confident. After the completion of the course they also help you for job opportunities which is really helpful as a beginner. I want to say that the Allen School of Health Sciences wasn’t my first choice. I only wanted to get more information about the school. My daughter recommended this school to me. I came and spoke to Ms. Hunter about enrolling in classes. I passed my entrance exam with flying colors and enrolled in their four-week course. I paid off my tuition before classes started. Something came over me before starting that kept saying “I’m going to be a failure” and that I shouldn’t bother to go. I called the school to cancel and spoke with Ms. Zabida. She was very strong and shocked about my statement and said she was going to have Ms Hunter call me. I spoke to my husband who told me that a quitter won’t win and a winner never quits. Soon after Joy gave me a call and said “Ms. Bucknor you can’t quit, you have to reach your goal.” I then spoke with one of the directors, Robert. Rob gave me some great advice and we ended the discussion with “Happy Holiday and I will be seeing you on campus next week.” It made me so happy to speak with them. The nervousness did not go away because it was a long time since I sat in a classroom chair. I even had difficulty sleeping. But, with the help of my classmates and my instructor Ms. July I succeeded and completed the program with an A average! I want to thank my teacher, classmates, and husband for all the support. Where do I even begin. My grandma was admitted into the Hospital before Christmas then into Calvary's Brooklyn Hospital Location. Shortly after, she was transferred into this Bronx Facility. It is difficult to describe the care that was given to my grandma because it was disgusting. Upon being admitted into the Bronx Calvary location, my mother began visiting every day for 3 weeks during their visitation hours. Prior to being admitted, my mother spoke with the nurses and doctors about my grandma's care. We were told that my grandma would be given nutritional milk to drink and be moved every 2 hours. These were some of the most basic "promises" given to us and none of them were ever seen. My mother was there 4 hours every day and the nurses never came in to move my grandma. The nurses never came in to even acknowledge my mother. They came in to ensure that they signed the time sheet to cover themselves. In one of the most shocking instances, my mother was wiping my grandmother and discovered an open wound that was already infected. The nurses and doctors did not even know about this wound and my mother had to tell them about it. My mom is there 4 hours PER day and she was able to discover a wound that this facility did not. My mother ultimately had to speak with social worker supervisors and nurse supervisors to receive the basic care that one assumes would be given in a hospital. Ultimately, my grandmother passed away. When we asked when she passed away or when they found out, the answer given to us was: I don't know. Moving a loved one into this facility is probably one of the worst moves that you could do for them. When issues are brought up, the nurses always say that a different nurse was supposed to take care of it. Stay awayNate Lam

I had two family members that used both in Hospital care and at home. I know of only 2 of the many staff members who actually showed that they cared. some could not follow basic direction from the past nurses. The staff in Hospital just don't care at all as well as the ones for at home. Would not put a dog in the trust of these people. I see that some people have nearly the same experience. One of my family members was recommended to have calvary at home but she really didn't need it. The caretaker that showed up wouldn't take a minute to understand the problem and how to properly do things that she needed. She passed within a week I believe she would have lived longer and been better if Calvary was never brought in. the other was about 2 years ago she was in Calvary for about 6 weeks. There was maybe 2 or 3 days that would be good but they would just be giving her more medication to put her out. Some of the nurses were very rough. Some of them were very rough. The day that she was going to pass away they knew she was going to but they had no intention of telling us it wasn't til we got there that day that they said She would. I would not recommend that anybody sends anybody that they actually care about to use any of the services that calvary uses.Carl Marx

My father was admitted a day before Christmas Eve. In the beginning everyone is nice and you think it was a clean facility. My father did not like that place. I never saw the doctor. I barely saw a nurse only to sign the sheet. I would have to clean my father, feed him. They never moved him at all. I tried speaking to the social worker it was impossible never saw her either. There were some nurses that were rude to him and very agresive when i would ask them to change him. My dad past away two weeks after being there. My entire experience at K&G was nothing short of amazing. I learned a lot. Met great and fun people. The staff is very nice and welcoming. My class schedule worked well with my job so I was able to do both and still be present and if I couldn’t I could leave early and would know what I would miss out on. My phlebotomy class was great and my teacher was great at guiding us on the ins and outs of phlebotomy, what to look out for, what never to do when it comes to patients, proper phlebotomy procedures, and how to get good samples of blood from different patients with different skin tones and vein visibility. At first you will be nervous and unsure if you can do it , but it’s all about pushing yourself and saying that you can. I would definitely recommend coming here if you want to get your foot in the door and really make a change on your life. Will definitely be coming back for more classes!Nia Callender

i had a great experience at LINC and i would recommend this course to anyone looking to become a CNA. I had a pretty full schedule with work so I really appreciated all the available class times to choose from. Our evening instructor Ms Cecilia and Ms Stephanie is more than great they are AWESOME They are very knowledgeable and makes the class enjoyable. Front staff Ms Angie was always very friendly and helpful every time I went to practice, someone was always in the office—and i practiced for the few weeks after finishing class to prepare for the state examination I felt that the training I received here helped me to successfully PASS my state exam on the first try!Natalie Green

My teacher Mrs. Staphane and my other instructor at Linc Health Training Center, were professional, knowledgeable and were there to answer all my questions if I didn’t understand anything during my CNA course. I was referred to this training center for the EKG and Phlebotomy program, I must say I have no regret. Excellent services provided by the front desk staffs and Instructor (Dr. Singh), also the programs are very affordable. The environment is very clean and well kept. Dr. Singh is by far the best instructor I’ve came across in my learning experiences, his was of teaching is very easy to comprehend and to pass the EKG and Phlebotomy courses that he teaches. He is very patient, understanding and genuinely passionate with students. This school is great, their teachers are beyond this world. I took some courses with Dr, L Singh and he was beyond wonderful. I also took some courses with Ms.Henderson on the weekends which taught us so many things that go beyond the practice. I loved my experience at this school since you can count that these amazing teachers will put on the effort and sacrifice to see you succeed not only on a professional level but also in life overall. Amazing teachers, especially imad, who brought me from an inexperienced student to a legitimate certified phlebotomist, and “dr.trisha” (dont know how to spell her last name) who equiped me with all the necessary knowledge for the medical world and phlebotomy. The teachers I had for my phlebotomy course were amazing. We had Dr. Abeer for our lectures and she always ensured everyone understood the curriculum. She prepped us for any quizzes and finals and always offered extra help. Kerlos was our lab instructor and I loved his teaching style. Before I signed up for the phlebotomy class I researched extensively all the options in NYC. This is the only one that will actually provide hands on experience and prepare you for real patients- no dummy arms. Both the lecturer (Dr. Abeer) and the lab instructor (Carlos) are amazing. Easily the best security school in the bronx, the staff are welcoming, considerate, caring and go above and beyond for students especially first timers and treat you like family. Will assist you with everything from getting the license to other certifications and everything else you need to know about the field. Classes are knowledgeable and worth it, prices are more than reasonable for the services plus the staff help.
