This school was perfect ! The hours worked perfectly for me and it offered everything I need. The instructors are nice and friendly, they prepare you for what to expect in the field. Everything is hands on and the material is easy to keep up with and understand. It is an accelerated program so be prepared to pay attention and keep up with the work. The test and quizzes are super easy and there is no way you can fail this course unless you do not try! The school also offers CPR for free! the CPR instructor Sean is amazing ! This class was very informative and clear to understand. I feel very confident in my skills after taking the CPR class. The instructor Lauren was very knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable asking questions. The environment was clean and they had a lot of equipment that was used during the course. This CNA Program was great! It was self-paced which gave me a lot of flexibility during my day. The online program was similar to a movie which made it go by fast. The in class clinical and lab was great! We went over all the CNA skills. The school is right off the Merritt parkway so it was very close for me. If you live in New haven it is right over the border. Highly recommend!Rob D

I’ve debated on weather or not to post but everyone asks me if I would recommend this school. The teachers there are amazing, they want to make sure you learn and know what you are doing. To be honest once you get to clinical they forget about you. I asked for help on multiple occasions because I was struggling with a protocol, I was told “we will put a schedule for you to come to the school with a teacher to learn more and you will go to the hospital one day a week” this was in addition to be already being at a clinic site 5 days a week. That never happened, I was told during one meeting when I asked to switch to vascular so I can have that experience on my resume that if the general site I was at now liked me I should stay because if I make a good impression they will let other students go to that site. I give credit to my teachers but that’s about the only good thing I can say about this school. I’ve had employers say they won’t hire if you go to this school because of the reputation. I know they’ve made changed and added staff since I graduated last summer but I would suggest making sure you do all your research on what accreditation’s the school actually has before making your choice on where to get your education. I thankfully was able to find a job on my own many months afterwards. Do your research and look up their accreditation’s before signing any contract with them.Lindsey Genovese

I recently graduated from AIHT, Cardiovascular Technology program. I did my clinical hours at Windham Hospital in Willimantic where I got hired right after. During covid, I realized how important the healthcare field was so I decided that I wanted to pursue my career in the medical field. After searching for and touring a few schools in my area I chose the AIHT ultrasound program. Lauren and Ravish were very helpful explaining all the steps and processes. As a single mother, AIHT’s flexible hybrid program enabled me to balance my personal life and school schedule really well. Upon completion of my clinical hours I felt really confident about my knowledge and felt comfortable taking the CCI board exam. I scored a 845 and officially became Registered Cardiac Sonographer. I'm very happy I found AIHT school which fit into my schedule and was close to my house. All the professors and administrators were good and helpful. I'm very THANKFUL for having KRISTEN & DONALD as ECHO scanning instructors because they really benefited me and made a great impact in my career. Mr.miles was a stellar teacher. Not only his versatile teaching style was very helpful in my learning the way he would work with students with language barriers was phenomenal. I went to Housatonic right out of high school. From fall 2012 to winter 2015, I attended. The professors were professional and helpful. I could email or call or see them during their office hours if I needed to speak (I prefer in person). All the professors I had were passionate and knowledgeable. I transferred from the science program to the fine arts program. The school and my advisor were helpful in this transition. (Personally, every process/interaction was quick and easy) It was a great choice for me. I found the fine arts department to be a great group of people. Very dedicated and all successful in their fields. They didn't just become teachers, they had/have careers and are extremely talented. A little quirky, but what artist isn't? They really helped me improve my art and gave me advice on selling my art. Aside from the actual classes, my favorite part was the fantastic cafeteria. Honestly, I still go back! I still wander around downtown sometimes – that's where HCC is. Its not idyllic but its not as tough as the streets of Manhattan. There's a few oddballs but in 2 years of night courses I never felt unsafe. There's good restaurants and a few shops, concerts in the summer. I graduated and transferred to an art college, almost all of my credits transferred. I'm at a smaller college now, to get my BA, and I miss the convenience of being in a downtown area, near a park and print shop, and really miss the cafe !Christine Jones

This place is the worst. I had the worst experience with an advisor who tried to advise me in the lobby of the building. She basically asked me why I was there…. Then tried to advise me to go to every other department so she would have to do the bare minimum??? Security guards at every door, not kind ones either they definitely don't make it a warm and friendly campus. Seems like they're trying to protect themselves from more that just Covid. The financial aid office is a mess, and the enrollment process was ugh…. They basically didn't know how to add my Transcript credit aside from them sort of losing my Transcripts which the head guy admitted, and looked at me asking if I had any unofficial ones on me…?. The 3 stars are for their professors, they were lovely. The school is trash though go to NCC instead especially if you value professionalism and can do advisement.E J

Housatonic community college Is one of the Best Colleges I have attended. Academically, and socially, this college is well rounded. HCC has Great teachers, that honestly want to see their students succeed.i can only tell you this because this was me, a student who was extremely stressed about the material and course work. Enrolling into HCC from a pervious college, I did not have the funds for school. when I applied for a HCC scholarship I was more than fortunate To have Received grant.YES from School. I have totally made the correct choice to attend HCC. I was nervous at first, but it’s the realization Of coming out of your comfort zone, to achieve your goals and aspirations. I am truly blessed and more than thankful to attend Housatonic community college. This is my go to Red Cross when I renew my CPR/First Aide/AED Credentials. The staff is excellent, professional, patient, and will stay an extra few minutes to work with you if you need a little more practice. They just need to turn the heat up, just a little bit in the winter months. I just dress in layers, because I'm STILL going back!Akisha C

I reccomend going to this place . You don't have to wait as much . The staff are friendly and attentive . I had athletes foot and they gave me my medicine . It healed me fairly quick . Went to renew my CPR/First Aid certification for my job. Class was fairly quick — about 2.5-3 hours online, then ~1.5 hours in-person. Our instructor, Steve, was great — very professional, patient, and knowledgeable. Overall, a great experience!Jules G.

Im amazed by the experience i received from this school. Aniceta Patroni was my EKG & Phlebotomy teacher. Im a mother of 3 and I'm currently pregnant with my 4th child i thought i wasn't going to be able to finish because i was struggling at first in my EkG class to the point where i cried and almost gave up Ms .Patroni encouraged me everyday not to give up and that i will pass i did just that . Called this school to inquire of its programs in Medical and Billing. A woman answered who says she was the owner was very rude to me and even yelled at me over the phone she then refused to give me information over the phone in regards to the courses and hung up. I pray the Department of Education Audits these type of schools and never ever give them any type of funding. It feels like I was discriminated against.Mr. Vic
