Beautiful theater. We're very lucky to have such a gem! We went and saw Clint Black there, every seat in the place feels like front row, there's not a bad seat in the whole theater The theater is just so pretty. Only downfall for me… The drinks were crazy expensive. Let's put it this way, my date went to grab me a vodka/sprite, he came back with my drink and 2 girls next to me and the funny lady talking really loud behind me all asked if what I had was a sippy cup, not joking- the cup was for a 4 year old and we paid $15 for a sippy cup. Unreal. Great Venue. Now only to get all guests to follow the rules!! Covid Card & ID, MASKS to be worn at all times are the rules, but, never had to show anything and few masks were worn. I guess this was the 1st show at the Fox in 18 months since Covid. We went to the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert, excellent by the way. Masks are required and they said proof of vaccination was required, but I wasn't asked for mine. This was my 1st visit to the Fox and the venue is gorgeous. Our family came to BC Dance six months ago in the middle of a dance season. The teachers, staff, and dancers welcomed my girls right away with warm and welcoming open arms and went out of their way to immediately include them in dances even though we joined late in the season. Mr. Cory and the other teachers have been a tremendous positive influence on my children in such a short amount of time! The improvements in my girls' dancing ability is far more than I could have ever expected! But more importantly, Mr. Cory and the staff's love, inspiration, dedication, and high expectations have ignited a spark in my two girls that melts my heart… my girls adore dancing more than they ever have before! Having come from another studio, this is truly the best dance studio in town not only for the high quality technique, but also for the immense love that Mr. Cory and the other staff provide. We've had an awesome experience over the last 4 years at BC Dance and with each year we continue to be impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of their staff and teachers. I would like to correct most of the lies stated below by the male owner of this drama kids camp after my husbands posting. The male owner, Robert, was beyond unprofessional and discriminatory towards my husband this morning after we addressed several concerns we had with one of his instructors. It started off peacefully, we introduced ourselves and stated our concerns and he immediately stated there are two sides to every story. We agreed and said we’d like to talk with this instructor to see what she had to say. Robert stated he had yet to speak with the instructor to get her side even though he informed us earlier that he knew about the events the day before. Then he proceeded to say if we wanted to wait we could speak with her. After we said ok and as my husband was walking towards the spot where Robert and I were already standing to hopefully talking with this instructor is when Robert called my husband a “bully” and stepped towards him. My husband started defending himself saying he is not a bully and Robert became belligerent and threatened to call the police if we didn’t get off the property. We told him to go ahead and call the police. It appears he forgot that we told him that we were audio taping the conversation when he stated “Who do you think the police are going to believe? Me or someone who looks like you?” as he was addressing my husband. The only lie the owner Robert did not tell was that he gave us a refund. Not once did he ask our 11 year old child what happened or how he felt which was the main reason we as parents went down to the camp to peacefully resolve our concerns. Furthermore, my son said the instructor was angry because the kids were not listening so everyone got punished and had to lie down with there hands crossed and faces down to the carpet. That situation with all the kids face in the carpet was not a theater game. If it was a game why was she vacuuming around the children why they remained quiet and still with faces to the ground? She was punishing them for not listening. I believe what our son told us as he was there and you (Robert) were not. He has no reason to lie or make things up as he was enjoying himself up to this day. Get your facts straight sir. You were not there supervising as you should have been. We cannot give best wishes to as person as horrible as you. Your display of character, lack of investigation and lies to save face for your business speaks volumes.Tiffanie Toms

My oldest is a HUGE fan of Harry Potter, so when we saw a wizard theme drama camp we had to sign her up. Susanne was great at helping us with the sign up. My daughter had a wonderful time at camp, and asked to sign up for more camps. She absolutely loved it! The performance at the end was fun. UPDATE: We signed both our daughters up for another Drama Kids session. They had the best time ever, and I was totally blown away that my 5 year old got up and performed fearlessly at the end of the program. Drama Kids is the best. Drama Kids has been so beneficial for my daughter in so many ways! My once shy child has really grown out of her shell and her socialization skills have improved immensely. She is learning more than just acting. She is learning important skills that she can carry with her throughout her life. The staff is amazing and always professional. Attended a play that was in The Scoundrel and Scamp Theatre, which is located in this historic building. What a GREAT setting for a theater! This beautifully maintained building screams history. Finding this particular theater is a bit of a mystery though- if you dont know to look behind southwestern portion of the building and go down the "alley" on the south side, you'll go right by it on 5th Avenue. But once you do- its lovely! Parking is limited, but street parking is available on University.Marcia Fanning

My son (now 7-years old) absolutely LOVES Kindermusik with Music Mary; in fact I'm not sure what we'll do without it since he's now preparing for his final session on the recorder. Not only has Kindermusik provided him with a social outlet, via music, but it has also motivated and prepared him for formal piano lessons. Through dances, musical stories, hands-on time with instruments, music fundamentals (ex. reading notes, experiencing rhythm), and organizational skill practice, Music Mary takes it to the top with her teaching elegance and pure kindness. As an ex-elementary teacher, I admire her teaching philosophy that encompasses a hands-on approach that is FUN. The baby/toddler/pre-k classes are AMAZING to say the least. To watch a 1-year old pick up a mallet and begin playing basic rhythm patterns on a drum is simply beautiful. This program is a great music supplement for homeschooling, as well. Each class comes with a CD and an instrument/sensory toy, which is an essential part of the experience. My son and I listen to the songs in the car, and whenever Music Mary starts a new song in class, his face lightens up because he knows it. My 3yo daughter Aubrey, who is now in school, had been going to Kindermusik with Music Mary since she was an infant. She loved every session singing and dancing and learning how to play different instruments. From about 15 months old she has been able to memorize and sing almost any song with the right pitches and rhythm and I know it's because of how Mary teaches and engages the children with pitch and melody and enthusiasm. Aubrey is lucky enough to have Mary as her music teacher at school once a week! She adores her and looks forward to Mary's arrival every week. Mary is excellent at what she does! We started when my daughter was 9 months old and nearly a year later we both still love it! The music is great and I love that the CD tracks have a variety of fast and slow as well as new and familiar songs. Most of all, I love that the songs are from all around the world. My daughter loves dancing, playing with new instruments, and having fun with friends in class. I enjoy it just as much! Mary graciously offered a military discount to our family which has been greatly appreciated. Mary is very caring and has a gift for working with children. Quaint location, wonderful people, and a friendly environment make this a great place to spend a Friday evening! The humor ranges from family friendly to a little risque. Everyone here volunteers to be apart of the magic and it's very genuine and quirky. I really enjoyed myself and had no idea a gem like this was even here! I really LOVE Unscrewed Theater! My hubby and I watch it virtually, which is so awesome! There's been a time or three 🤣 that we've even watched it in the car going home from wherever we were. We just didn't want to miss it! The comedians, actors and actresses really know how to perform and keep the audience entertained. As of 4/5/2022, this location still requires that patrons wear a mask while attending events. Didn't see this posted on their website prior to making the 30 minute drive to the theatre. We chose not to participate in the event after being asked to wear the mask. Wearing a mask removes all of the fun of live performances. around 4 years ago we had joined Cinemark movie club with Roadhouse cinema being a member, so we decided to try it as the food while watching a movie was very intriguing, the all you can eat caramel popcorn was an even nicer twist once we got there and had bought our tickets as the online ordering wasn't working at the time, so we got the very front row instead of some better seats higher up. I didn't take pictures or count seats but it was a smaller theater compared to the park place mall theaters with around 32 to 40 seats with 4 or 5 rows of seats, and an ordering system at your chair, with low lighting so one could see to order and eat. As a treat to ourselves we decided to go back tonight so we could get a two fer with a movie and dinner and not be out late as we were tired from the last week of working, as it had been very busy. Not knowing things had been significantly changed since our last visit we each got something to drink and went to our seats to order dinner while we waited for the movie to start. After around 15 to 20 minutes of previews and muted commercials the movie finally started with no sign of our food except the caramel sprinkled popcorn (not even caramel popcorn now, just caramel sprinkled on regular popcorn) but many other people in the large theater were being served. about 20 minutes into the movie our food was brought but there were no lights to see with to eat the food. there were some very little lights that were kinda bright at several of the chairs around the theater but the light next to me was mostly dead with no brightness control. I said something to the next server I saw and he said casually, so what do you want me to do about it like it was a normal thing. I said I'll find the manager and she basically said the same thing, (Tough luck for you), and didn't even offer to refund my food that I couldn't eat inside the very dark theater. It is certainly not a eat in the theater place anymore just a high priced bar that just so happens to have a movie theater inside it. I have told several people about what a great place it is over the years since I went last, but never again, I'll HIGHLY recommend they stay away.Mike Stephens

I love coming here. I often go alone. It should be noted that the seats are configured as love seats. You share 2 seats closely. I've had it a few times where I've purchased a ticket, seeing no one in the seat next to me, but when I arrive someone has purchased the seat next to me. I know I'm the weird one, but I just am not comfortable sitting that closely with a stranger. On the occasions where someone else has purchased the seat directly next to me, I've just left the theater. On Tuesdays the have cheaper tickets so now that's when I usually go so I can also purchase the seat directly next t me. It sucks to have to pay double but again I realize that I'm the weird one. I just don't feel comfortable sitting that closely to a stranger for 2 hours. It's weird, I have no problem doing this on an airplane. But in a movie theater? Not happening.Bob Bobberson

Took the whole family to Roadhouse! The kids all loved it. My wife and I loved the space so kids weren't sitting on top of us the whole movie. 😉We were worried it might be too dark to eat, but there is just enough light to eat safely! We don't drink so I can't comment on the bar, but the food was great. LOVED having food/drinks/snacks delivered right to our seats: instead of leaving and hoping the concession line will be short and that you won't be missing too much of the movie while you wait is fantastic!!! We will definitely be back! Edit to add: the only downside (and it is minor) is that the food is pricey. Let me honest though, this is a movie theater and who goes to a movie and thinks that won't spend a ton of money while you're there? Just don't know that we will do more than popcorn and drinks instead of a full meal.Tim Hardt

My Children attended the JCC for years and years, and it was absolutely lovely. Until it came time for us to cancel our membership. I have spent the last three months fighting simply to get my membership cancelled, being told different things, by different people, each time. We gave our 30 day notice, we paid for an enrollment we weren't there for, we paid for a month of services we weren't going to attend, and now at this juncture, I've paid for FOUR months of membership, that we haven't used. The first time I called, the woman assured me our cancellation was all set, and that I didn't need to take any further action. The next month I am charged. I call back and they say "Oh well that shouldn't have happened, you're all set now, have a nice day." I got charged a third time, and called again today, only to be told "Well you never e-mailed us, so there's no record, so we're not going to give you your money back, for the months you haven't even stepped foot in the door." The ECE is amazing, and the JCC is lovely, but really only until you decide to stop investing your money into them it would seem. Now all of the beautiful memories are going to be distorted by this bitter taste of a monetary argument that's lasted over a quarter of a year.Elijah Pierce

Our baby girl goes to daycare here, and we looooooove it. We tried a less expensive daycare that was fine, but we wanted a more upbeat environment that had more enrichment activities on a consistent basis. We even got a bit of a scholarship which made it not as much of a stretch to switch. The teachers in our room are kind, communicative, and really love the kids. They are good at following parent directions, but also are great at making observations and suggestions… a team effort! There is a low class ratio already, and then helping staff rotate in and out. The kids paint regularly, sing songs, go on buggy rides, have special gym time, and have done things like helping to plant seeds. So fun! We are so relieved to have a nurturing, enriching environment for our child!Sarah Pifer

I have gone as a guest with my friend a few times and it has always been a comfortable and safe feeling environment. My daughter loves the playroom and teacher and I love getting my 2 hours to workout. Its pretty far from me but I am getting my own membership for the new year and plan on using it as often as possible it’s definitely worth it. There are tons of amenities and GREAT equipment. I have been a season ticket holder for about ten years now. The venue is ultimately intimate in that the stage is just inches away from the audience. The play, "The Cripple of Inishmaan," was very well done. I have attended plays from the Family Theatre, the Mainstage Theatre, and the Etcetera Theatre. I have also introduced family and friends to this theatre as often as possible. I am also a yearly fundraiser contributor. This is a well-kept secret gem of the Tucson theatre district.Sherry Ellis

As a dad many children, we have had our share of dance and gymnastics studios. Hands down, Dance Force 1 has been our favorite. WHY? The staff. Just visiting to get my daughter moved in for her first year. Spent the day walking around the campus. It is a nice walk with a light rain. Not too hot today. Lots of students, lots of building. The student union is fast food central with all the popular eateries present. Communication with parents could use some improvement. We expected to attend some sessions with my daughter but once we arrived we were informed it was for students only. Closing out the evening watching the marching band in their first public performance. My daughter loves the campus and is looking forward to the start of classes next week.Stacey Brewer

Went to football game and had lots of fun. But I was surprised when I found out the hard way that the concession stands don't take cash. They only take cards. It made it hard because we took cash. Luckily it was a night game because we wouldn't have been able to sit in the sun without water. Also lots of people had to go back to their cars and leave their purses and bags. The Arizona Sands Club is so wonderful. The atmosphere is second to none and the food is phenomenal. Chef Hogg is a master of his trade. I've never had a bad meal here. I went for a class or two and it was a good experience. I still had 3 classes left of the package of classes I bought. Covid hit and I didn’t contact the studio for a while assuming that they were closed due to covid. Contacted Rebecca to see if they were opened about a year after I went to the classes, only to find out that the pieces I made were thrown out! And guess what? No refunds are given. I had only intended to come in to finish the pieces I started. I am very disappointed that I was not even contacted to see if I want my pieces thrown out. Tucson High is a great school. There is a wide array of AP and Honors classes, and many of the NON-honors and AP classes are extremely rigorous as well. Beyond the required courses, there are also many electives, and a full group of truly excellent teachers. It is large, but there are many clubs that your student can get involved in (this helps to make it less daunting) and an active PTA that you, as a parent, can be involved in (this helps to show you the ropes of being part of such a large school). We get a number of transfers from other TUSD schools that are more of a pressure cooker, and a number of students who qualify for those other schools who choose THMS because of its great diversity of students and school community. In terms of academics, this public high school may not be the best, or even good in any ways. However, its extracurricular facilities will definitely compensate for the mentioned drawbacks, and if you are willing to get a 4.0 without any effort whatsoever, this is the perfect school for you! The Gregory School has changed my kids lives. We transferred from a Montessori school and it has exceeded our expectations in every area. I am an alumni of PCC, and took theater graphics there! I wholeheartedly pay for the more expensive seating in the Proscenium (big) theater just to support my friends. I think the best show I saw was Dracula in 2017 in the Black Box. Nevertheless, Little Shop of Horrors, Mamma Mia, and SpongeBob were all a delight. I do commend the set designers on finally agreeing on using less videographics… as a set/scene design dabbling student, I found it would clash very much. Support your local theater and come watch shows for $15-$30 (tax included). They are physically distancing, and also require masks indoors. The cast always does a clap-off as you exit, which is very very fun! (costumes, makeup, mics and all– they're clapping for you, the audience, which is an odd but humbling event). Rogue Theater is an outstanding experience. The plays and actors are superb. The layout and size of the theater brings you right up close to the actors. Excellent value for the money. After going to one or two plays a year, we became season ticket holders and have loved every minute. That cast follows every showing with an intimate discussion with the audience. The musical accompaniment is uniquely tailored to each play and is just beautiful. The Staff, Directors, Actors,, and volunteers are wonderful like family. We really enjoyed the program. The cast was outstanding as they embodied several persons throughout the event. The subject was completely relevant to current events, and personal experience for four decades. I finally did revert to my original gender, at birth. But I was reliving much of the fear, hostilities, and caos that she had. Mine was at home as a child with abusive parents, brothers, and their friends. I know what it's like to run for your life. The passion she infused into the play…I see it every day at work. How one is able to sustain such passion in two such disparate areas, I have no idea. But she does that, unflinching.
