If you are looking for a small liberal arts college that is focused on the whole student, this is the place. With a goal of having 100% of the freshman class taking a semester abroad and a faculty mentor assigned before the start of the regular fall semester are some of what make this college more unique and a great choice. This is a 4:1:4 program where students have an opportunity to do research starting their freshman year. The atmosphere is relaxed and geared for learning and reflection. Lots of beautiful green spaces and beach area along the waterfront to congregate and study. All faculty and staff focus on hands-on and individual approach to student learning and development. With less than 1900 students, there is a sense of deeper relationships and community. As a mom of a prospective student, I was impressed by the high touch approach and the emphasis on developing the whole students into thriving adults. I also love that all classes are taught by professors not TAs or grad students. It helps knowing that facility is engaged and has an open door policy. I inquired with current students on this as well. They mentioned it was one of the things they love most. I have gone to both public and private school tours and it's clear to me the relationships of students with faculty are not the same when faculty "phone it in.." with their classes. FWIW P.S. I graduated in 2008 and only in recent years have begun to value the education I received. Eckerd did not teach me how to manage business, Eckerd taught me how to think. Eckerd looks like a ritzy boutique place for rich kids to get an education. I hope Eckerd can focus on education and have liberal arts be accessible. I would highly encourage you to go to Eckerd. I applied to one of their online Master’s program and got accepted for the 2022 Fall term. Filled out everything, paid the app fee, paid for all of my official transcripts (this would have been my 4th degree), got to the advising appointment only to be told that all of my questions I needed to “look into on my own”….. I work in higher education and these are thing the advisor should have been able to answer. Then she tells me the code to look at classes after the appointment, which was odd, only to find out the two classes I was going to register for were full and she wasn’t even looking at them at the time of the appointment. This is not how advising is supposed to work. Since I have an existing Master’s I wanted to see if any of my credits could transfer in with a maximum of 6 credit hours. If classes wouldn’t transfer due to program alignment, that would have been fine. However, the reasoning was “ Since you did earn the degree with those courses, he doesn't feel that we can also use them to complete the MA degree.” I’m sorry, what??? I thought this was a wonderful school, that is until Title IX (in my opinion) trumped up charges against me using REDICULOUSLY IRRELEVANT events to back up their claim. This University is not a safe place to send your child if you care about them and their safety. I spent two semesters living on campus, my freshman year and they were the worst months of my life; communal bathrooms are not clean, things are broken often and do not get fixed, and security cameras are few and far between. The campus itself is not in a good neighborhood, which is a common fear of most people. Administration has done nothing to make the campus safer, there are not any cameras in parking lots, the cameras in the municipal parking garage do not work, and people are able to walk on to campus even if they do not attend the school. Young children steal student's bikes in broad daylight and grown adults walk onto the campus as well. The cafeteria food is not good and the staff is 99.9% of the time very rude, and you may get a plate of food thrown at you even if you are polite. I have witnessed people be served raw chicken, romaine lettuce when there was an E. coli outbreak, and also contract E. coli. The Bursar's office constantly removed and added money to my account saying one day I owed X amount of dollars and then one day I owed Y amount of dollars, and whenever I asked why my balance fluctuated during the semester, they had no answer. Financial aid is not easy to deal with especially if your family makes a mid-range income. If you household income is low or very high, do not expect to pay a lot per year. The social environment is like high school: judgmental and everyone stays in their own "clique" The only reason I will give this "university" a 2-star review is because the professor's do care about you and your success. They will work with you, and help you when need be. Every professor I had only wanted their students to succeed, and nothing else (with the exception of a woman who just had graduated from college and did not know the subject which she was teaching).Ashlynne Donovan

This school is one of the best veteran friendly schools in the U.S. currently we are in the top 100, we even have our own USO sponsored lounge called the defenders den where we can be around fellow veterans. The classes here are incredible and the professors genuinely care and thrive off interaction. You will not become another gear in the chain at this university, also the campus even though small is absolutely gorgeous. The worst school ever! I did a year at JU and lived on campus! there is nothing to do! You will be bored out of your mind if you are from the north. The staff was unhelpful, and forget about getting any extra financial help. I come from a one parent house hold and my mom lost her job I went into the aid office to see if they can help me with any extra aid and all they could offer was goods from the food pantry. We actually don't visit the college but the bay that's right beside the college. We are from Illinois and every vacation we come to this area. I'm not sure what the name of the bay area is but it's always easy to locate because of nearness to the college. My grandkids love coming here and I feel they are safe because the water is pretty shallow till about 20 feet out which gives them opportunities to wade and look for sand crabs. The college itself reminds me of my hometown college. Not too big and well designed. I like the fact it's spread over the block area. I feel like this school is robbing my GI benefits by telling me I “need” a class, then the next semester they tell me I didn’t need the class. I have 49 credit hours but was just told that 16 of those were ones I didn’t need. How is that possible? Even the VA approved of the classes, but now all of a sudden they are classes I didn’t need. And now I have to take another semester at GCSC when this whole summer I thought I was graduating after fall semester 😭Nikki Head

This college was amazing before COVID. It was even amazing during COVID. But something has happened in the past year with administration causing this place to change for the worst leaving me frustrated. I was supposed to graduate in May 2021. I got to know the lady at the front desk during this time in January. She left and I got to know the other guy at the front desk. Then he left so I got to know the next lady. Then two weeks ago I was told she was gone. My adviser was helping me last fall. Then out of nowhere she left and I got another one. Then she left and I got another one. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and he helped get me ready for graduation. Then he left and I had to talk to another supervisor. She told me she was only a temporary supervisor and there would be another new one. I finally got connected to the lady in charge of graduation but guess what. She left right before graduation. So I got stuck taking another class I didn't need in the fall and delaying graduation by six months. I signed up for this class in April and found out the day before classes started that it was canceled! I called and talked to every person before finally hearing why, the teacher quit the day before classes started. What is wrong with this place that so many people are quitting and getting fired? Fix this now because this is hurting the students who pay from their pocket or waste their financial aid.Tyler Bobiler

Not the best school, but a good choice for many students. NWFSC is a very small school, so you shouldn't expect it to be amazing. That said, they do a good job with what they have, and they have been growing by leaps and bounds in the years that I've lived here. Generally, most students will like the school, but most intend to go to another college at some point. I particularly love the library. This is one area where being a small school is an advantage; the staff is very helpful, and will get to know you if you go there often. It has a great atmosphere and is the best place on campus to read, study, or get work done. One complaint that everyone has is the school's computer system, which is being "improved" very, very, slowly. It is not unusual for the websites to go down and for the email system to be uncooperative. Luckily, the staff has the same problems as the students, so professors are generally understanding if online work doesn't get turned in on time.Nick Zimmermann

So many negative reviews, so here is a positive one. We all know college is hard especially as an adult with work and medical problems. Recently i had a Spinal tap done and have been recovering for the last few days, i missed my biology class, which if you have to take biology use Dr McAurthur hes amazing, and now im missing my English course due to post op side effects. My professors are all very understanding and accommodating during this! registration was a breeze, book purchase process was a bit crazy, but even that was sorted out with ease. My advisor is amazing as is the entire admin staff at Raider Central. the bookstore and Cafe employees are doing their best to get things done in a timely manner with shortages, and illnesses everyone is amazing, i have yet to have a negative thing happen since starting my degree! To all the high school freshman posting reviews and rating AMDA 5 stars stop. You do not go there. Do not give it a bigger head than it already has. Attended in 2013-2014 would have been one star if it weren't for some (a few) wonderful teachers. (Stacy Lee, Kathy, Jeff, Tim,and Ray thank you) I am posting this review because they just posted an instagram post about 13 reasons why. They said check this out help is available. Would have been nice if that was ACTUALLY TRUE. However, if you have any sort of mental health problems you are told to grow up! (By teachers AND THE DAMN COUNSELOR) you are told stories of how the show must go on fake it til you make it. If you cannot stop crying you are weak, and theater is just a hobby for you. The teachers name drop and make you feel bad about yourself for not being Jason Derulo.The only person who helped me get help was my acting teacher (god bless him), who sent me to the counselor who told me I was acting like a child and that I need to prioritize. "If this isn't for you you don't have to be here" I told him this is the most depressed I've ever been. No offer to find therapy near me. No weekly meetings. No follow up visit. He suggested I find a new dream. So I did but now I'm 25,000 dollars in debt after 9 of the worst months of my life. Like others have said AMDA is what you make it but if you have any sort of mental health issues don't count on getting any help. PS. The dorms have a large scary roach problem, pretty sure it used to be a mental hospital (how fitting) PPS. I can acknowledge that I learned a good deal in my acting and VPS classes. I joined AMDA NYC back in 2021 Fall. This school has changed my life. Incredible staffing who are all working professionals within the acting world and all are incredibly motivated, fun and inspiring. My time at this school has been nothing but positive thus far and, the school continues to get better and better. I have done my own reading into reviews and the bad reviews have definitely changed. I have seen things change here, I have seen things become progressively better for the students here at AMDA. AMDA has become much more of a supporting and safe environment for not just me but for everybody who needs it. You certainly learn a lot here, develop great connections with your teachers and get plenty of opportunities out here. I myself, am certainly glad that I chose this school. My daughter just graduated in Sept 2017 from NYC in dance. She had a very positive experience from start to finish! Starting with Elliott Kerr, Assistant Director of Admissions. Elliott did a nice job of answering all our questions and helping get all our paperwork completed. Our daughter loved all her teachers and has said through out her program, "this is the right school for me." Currently attending and have been struck with how little people here care about their students’ education. I’ve called for advisors to help me with transfer papers and financial aid to ask about my scholarship money (they never refunded it back to me) and I’ve been hung up, transfered to other lines, and even worst… gotten a voicemail saying they’re not available even after calling 5 times during different days and hours. It’s as if the faculty here doesn’t work. The professors are mediocre, really lazy and most have an accent that is hard to understand. Never answer to emails either and don’t help their students pass. I’ve gotten all As and one B but that’s due to how much I tried and stressed myself since I didn’t get any help here. Currently working on my transfer out of state to get out of this school as soon as possible.Adriana Alva

Ever since the pandemic, it’s been difficult getting a hold of different departments and professors. When you sign up for a class, they usually cancel the class for the semester for various reasons. They don’t communicate changes in policy i.e. when you enroll for a class and your funding doesn’t come through, they no longer automatically drop you from the class so they expect you to pay for that class, even if you didn’t take it. Apparently they no longer automatically drop you for non-payment. It’s an unethical practice. Students should be notified of this policy change. The only bright side of this school has been the Access program. They’ve always answered calls and provided help.Kim Sanchez

Glitchy system that logs in when it feels like it, making me pay for classes I DID NOT TAKE and sent me to collections. Staff may lack 3rd grade education let alone college, the only thing they can direct you to is the bathroom. Appealing anything takes several tries and a firework display over Bayside spelling out "stop screwing me i.d. #000000000". Best thing I could've done for myself is not even bother with MDC. Take i.t./networking related classes through Netacad directly. Save the hundreds of dollars, time, and headaches.Javier C

I have had the misfortune of hiring now 9 girls from UT on a rotating schedule( when they have availability). I know a total of 12 girls that have either recently graduated, are in nursing programs, or 2 that are currently in masters programs, the 9 that worked/Ing for me are either recent grads, in their masters program, or a rising senior… So… now of these girls, even though they are nice have any queslificariona to work.. 6 out 9 which 3 of those 6 are or were in honors programs. Have no clue what they are going to do after school. Most complained about the treatment and the overall vibe of the campus. The 4 out of 12 girls that I know are graduated and with a Bachelors degree in Nursing or teaching can’t even find a job and are working in low level paying jobs… practically a step up from min. Wage. This university does not produce graduates that have a impact on the world. The quality of person who is going here 8 out of 10 is not the person you want working for you… This is a school for people who are good test takers but not ready or prepared to be in the real world at all… Go to bigger school that’s not private – private universities answer to know one which is not so good.. especially when it comes to the quality of graduates they are producing and putting out into the world. Which seems subpar at best. Save yourself the hassle, go to a public university. Like USF is bigger, better diversity, better teachers, bigger endowment, better statics with the type of person they produce back into the working world. Beautiful school in a great location, however, if you're looking for a good school with good academics DO NOT COME HERE. The nice look of the school and large dorm rooms is about all it has to offer. As a freshman I went through three advisors in one year without any notification of having mine switched, and I also told my current advisor that I am transferring several times; but I keep receiving emails from them telling me I still have to register for next semester. The advisors here are not really that helpful at all. When you contact any facilities they either take weeks to respond, or do not respond at all. The grading scale is also very odd, so take a look at that as well. My first semester I had all A's and one AB and that brought my GPA down to a 3.8, when in most colleges an A- will bring your GPA down to around 3.9. The wifi is almost nonexistent unless you're using a computer in the library. Please do not invest your money here and go to a more accredited and student friendly college, so you do not have to waste time and stress looking to transfer out of here like many freshman do.Morgan Lowe

This school is some sort of racket, I would recommend looking elsewhere to receive your degree. The school’s “academic advisors” are actually the program directors and professors, so they have a personal interest in what classes they put you in and won’t let you choose or advocate for yourself. Because of this, they are also not interested in solving problems you may face because then they’d have to take responsibility for them. The TAs barely know what they’re supposed to be instructing you in, and will get flustered if you have a question and do the work for you instead of actually teaching you to be self-sufficient. Additionally, the course descriptions are severely lacking and you will find that the instruction for nearly all classes feels very clandestine and disorganized. There is no transparency or way to make an informed decision at this “school”. For those living on campus in student housing, you may experience mold, insects, and furniture caked in animal hair. The school will not put effort into remedying this. The cafeteria food is abysmal after the first week of classes. There is a large foreign student population at this school, FIT may be relying on their newness to the States in order to maintain their poor standards. For those of us who value receiving a first-world and excellent education, I suggest NOT ATTENDING FLORIDA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY.K Washington

First. This place has its ups & downs. But one thing’s for sure, they provide quality education as good as Ivy leagues. 80% of Professors are great at teaching. Some will even be the reason youre passionate about you’re major. Downside to this place is the QS ranking(doesn’t exist on there). But they make up to that by being well known in the community & having connections with big engineering companies. I graduated may2020 with an Bsc in ME. & am now getting my masters at UCI in MAE. Let me tell you I study with students from berkely & UCSD & I am just as knowledgeable as they are or even better at times. One of the downsides is the extremely expensive university housing which you’re forced as an international student to stay in for 1 year. Wish FIT imvested a bit more on better parking lol. Best 4 years of my life. Even though Melbourne is extremely boring. Orlando & miami are 1 & 2:30 hours away. Don’t ever estimate the quality of education FIT is providing. I once did & now know better. Take up that panther 🐆 pride. One last thing. You’ll get to see rockets 🚀 taking off every couple weeks from campus. Florida Tech has been my home away from home. The energy the place and the people have is unique and would say that I am as happy as I can be here at Florida Tech. Ever since I started attending school here I felt like my education and wellness was more than covered. It has given me connections and friendships that will last forever and I will forever be grateful to have chosen Florida Tech. My professors have always been caring and helpful and I have never felt like I didn't belong here. I loved the community and how many different clubs and organizations they have, so socializing has been an easy part as well. My daughter played soccer for Saint Thomas University. It wasn’t the most organized, but she enjoyed her time playing. There was normal girl drama that I wish females didn’t have to deal with, but it is what it is. She walked on, and transferred in from Texas and was never really welcomed as a recruit, but she made the best of her situation and was a key starting player for her team. While attending the University they hired a new dean. I had some contact with him, and I understand he is trying to turn things around for the university. They need to hire better quality professors, and better quality staff. I had the pleasure of working with Alex Matolcsy | Financial Counselor/Collector in Office of Financial Affairs, and he was the one consistent person who always had the answers and replied to emails in a timely manner. I love STU. The classrooms are smaller than other universities so it’s easier to learn and get one on one with the professors. When it comes to student life, CAB has it covered. Students have a variety of activities to participate in as well as many extra curricular activities. The campus is also heavily guarded by campus security, 24/7 so it always feels safe.Nadya Hanna

We went on a college tour of New College of Florida. New College is a unique honors college that is part of the State University System of Florida. The tour was very informing about how New College focuses on academics, the arts, and a liberal arts college education. While New College is small, it has growth plans in place. The tour guide advised they have hired 15 new multidiscipline faculty members, with a goal to grow the college from about 800 to 1,200 students. Unique Observations: New College is located on Sarasota Bay, which makes for a beautiful and relaxing place to attend college, have special events, and participate in water sports. New College campus is split between the north and south side by Tamiami Trail, with a pedestrian walkover for students. New College is located very close to the Sarasota- Bradenton International Airport, which makes it very convenient to travel to and from the campus. Located in beautiful Sarasota, Florida, New College is closely connected with the local art, cultural, and outdoor recreation scene. The professors here are amazingly good! They are what's keeping me here. Most of the administration is terrible. When I got here I heard about it a lot from the senior students but I didn't realize how bad it is until I finished my first semester. Mold in your room? Too bad. Need your transcripts sent to another school? Too bad. Accidentally got billed twice for the meal plan? Too bad. Someone from another dorm in another building breaks something? Too bad, everyone gets billed. Want to live off campus? Too bad. So many students leave before they finish their first year and the administration is scratching their heads wondering why. It's a small yet personal school because the faculty are truly FOR the students. Everyone is involved in some way on campus, its not called an honors college for nothing. Everyone here TRIES to succeed. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of resources available to students including a study abroad program. My experience at the Barrow Group has truly helped me not to give up as an actor. After moving to NYC in 2009, my very talented friend recommended that I take classes at The Barrow Group. I trusted his recommendation because he was very knowledgable about the class options in the city. I am so thankful that I found the Barrow Group!! I really missed my theatre community from Graduate School and the Barrow Group became my NYC home base. I have taken four classes with Lee Brock and I have learned so much from her. She helped me go back to the beginning…back to those years before all of the training…Lee helped me go back to the 'Story.' She helped me to focus on what truly matters…telling the story! The teaching style of the Barrow Group is extremely accessible to actors. You can get a feel for the teachings style by reading Seth Barrish's book "An Actor's Companion: 99 Bit of Craft." I am starting my fourth class tomorrow. Obviously, I love this place. The teachers are friendly, down to earth, and REALLY know their stuff. It really is amazing, the learning curve, and how much you do learn during just one class, let alone three. I've attended one of their shows (so far), and it was really an inspiring experience, with just superb acting. I had studied for many years with some of the best and most highly regarded teachers in the acting community but it wasn't until I found the Barrow Group that I felt I became a good actor. Seth Barrish has created an astoundingly simple approach to the work that makes acting fun again. And truthful and real. He and his co-artistic director Lee Brock have created a wonderful home for some of the most passionate and talented artists I have ever had the privilege of working with. I took the 1-year online screenwriting course. In theory it sounded perfect for me, since I wasn't in a position to go to school full-time. I had high hopes. On the positive side, I did learn the basic principles of screenwriting. Also, I finished a first draft of a film script, which was pretty cool. The discipline of meeting weekly to report on my progress helped me achieve my goal. I wish my review could end there, on a positive note. But on the negative side, I found the instructor extremely rude to anyone who didn't agree with their opinions 100%. The person often ridiculed students and dismissed their contributions. The surly attitude shut down conversation more than once. I have a Masters degree, and have been a student in several schools as an adult – and I have encountered only a few instructors as abrasive as this person. (That's saying a lot, considering how arrogant many professors are!) Also, the instructor was late to class more than once. To be fair, the person did make it up, by extending the classroom time. Still, when you've arranged for child-care, it's a drag to sit and wait in front of your computer, while your instructor fumbles around, making half-baked excuses why they were late. I have kids at home who play the same tricks in an attempt to evade their responsibilities, I don't need my screenwriting instructor doing the same! Worse yet, the instructor once shared personal information about their family of origin that was unnecessary to the classroom context. (We paid a hefty tuition fee to learn screenwriting skills, not to hear sad facts about this person's childhood. Hey, we all have a few sad memories about childhood! Get over it! An online classroom is not the place for a paid instructor to share personal memories). I would have been more sympathetic to their plight if they had been a nice human being from the beginning. They weren't nice, so I'm not sympathetic. Finally, the instructor went back on a promise they had made to me during a classroom session. Another student hadn't come to the online class, and we were scheduled to read their script. So I volunteered to submit my rough draft – with the understanding that I could re-submit my script once it was finished, for another classroom review. The instructor agreed to those terms – but went back on their agreement a few weeks later. When I questioned the instructor about it, my concern was dismissed. So, I copied the transcribed conversation in which the instructor made the promise. They replied that they were way too busy to give each student individual attention! (Then why make the promise in the first place?). My poor rating is entirely based on the habitually unprofessional conduct of the instructor. The actual course content was very, very good. Had someone else – with a good work ethic, a sense of punctuality, and a commitment to personal and professional integrity – taught the course, then I would have given NYFA a perfect score. So, although I'm indebted to NYFA for helping me acquire basic screenwriting skills, and giving me the opportunity to complete a rough draft, I found the personal conduct of the instructor a very serious obstacle to the learning experience. My suggestion to anyone who wants to enroll in an online screenwriting course: – Make sure the educational institution has a professional code of conduct – Make sure the school holds their instructors to that code If you can't afford the cost of tuition: – Buy a good book on screenwriting. It will give you the exact same info about skills that this course provided, at a fraction of the cost – Enroll in a writing class at your local community center, where you can find like-minded people who will hold you accountable as you write your next project -Keep writing! Don't give up. After a number of years, I continue to uphold my opinion of the school.Robert Widdowson

The (limited) number of students that actually care is the only reason this school gets 2 stars. I attended the Masters Cinematography program in Los Angeles, and I am here to tell you that for that program- I can't speak to the others with as much in depth knowledge- the school is a joke, and serves to print money for itself. I was to attend for two accelerated semesters, and during the first, I found work doing what I was going to school to study and basically checked out mentally. When time came for my second semester, I had done very little for my classes, and went to our instructor to tell him I was leaving. The part that confused me was when he said that I was one of the best students in class, which made me laugh, as I had been working on set for the proceeding two months, hadn't attended class, or screened any projects for the class. I pointed out these facts to him, went to the bursers office with my story, and within 5 minutes I was holding a check for 40 thousand dollars: a complete refund of my tuition for both the previous semester, and the upcoming semester. My question is this: if they don't know they are scamming all their pupils, why were they so eager to hand over so much money and bid me farewell? Seems like an admission of guilt, and an effort (which admittedly worked) to prevent me from commenting on my experience. All you need to do is look at the top 5 most common jobs for degree holders from NYFA. The most common is elementary school teacher. The rate of alumni body working in thier field of study is a jawdropping .008%. Yea. Not worth it. Do yourself a favor, and watch all the films on AFI 100 greatest films list, then learn how blender and composition work, buy yourself a camera, and make a film.Nick Frazier

Did a filmmaking workshop. Loved some teachers and learned a lot, but the administration its just been awful. Since my first day. When I arrived due to a ridiculous covid protocol that I haven't been informed, I couldn't attend my first day of classes. I lost many hours and they just left me outside the door even though I crossed the world to get to nyc. And now, I finished the workshop four months ago and still haven't get my diploma. I keep writing to them but nothing gets done and it just keeps wasting my time. I paid around 5 thousand dollars to take that workshop and I just can't believe I don't have the proof of the classes I took.Pili Martínez

Just rating the theater and not the the performance,the theater upper seats are not made for men above 5"9 and above 6 feet or people with hip and knee replacement in the upper balcony especially in the "lodge" section I'm 6'2 and 240 and I thanks god that the person next to me in the lodge section on stage left wasnt there, I could angle my knees, it still was brutal or otherwiseI, probably would of left. when we got there the staff didnt say this way ladies and gentlemen, I did buy the cheap seats for 179$, they yelled not ask "ticket person holding tickets first then you toss your wallet and keys into a bin for metal decorator. Which I dont think it pick up my belt buckle, then someone scan your ticket and sent you on your way to wander and find your seats. if you want to get someone attention how about a light flicker instead of yelling thru your maskRobert Smith

I love this theater and all of the productions I have seen here over the years. I thought I knew all I needed to know about this building until the other night when I took the elevator to the Sky Lobby Bar on the 3rd floor. I discovered the top-floor Garret Room, a private space for performances, receptions and meetings. I am so glad this building built in 1906 was saved and preserved.Bella Fica

Great show. Food and drinks on both the top and bottom floors with a small stand in the middle. I definitely recommend reserving yourself a table during intermission. You can order your drinks and food ahead of time and they are ready at the start of intermission so you don’t have to wait in line. Great date night.Lee Pierce

When I initially came into this school I wanted to eventually go into their graduate program. The admissions advisor told me that I would have a higher change if I got my undergrad there as well. So I did. I graduated with a 3.4, the teachers were amazing and then I go to apply for my graduate program. Due to covid the interview was over the phone. The gentleman that interviewed me asked me why I wanted to go into mental health and I explained to him how in the past I had a substance abuse problem (I wanted to be as honest as I could) because I had been saved and I felt like my purpose was to be a vessel of god and help others. The minute I said that to him he answered “I AM SORRY BUT I DONT KNOW HOW I WILL BE ABLE TO PRESENT YOU IN FRONT OF THE COMMITTEE” “MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE SOME TIME OFF”. He did finish the interview but weeks later I received a letter saying that I was denied admission to the school. I was already in the school, so I called and no one understood why I wasn’t accepted. My advisor was confused, my teachers and myself. When I asked why I wasn’t accepted so that I can work on it and fix it no one knew. They said the committee looks at different things and decides. I had classmates with lower GPAs that were admitted, I had one friend who had failed a class and was admitted and I wasn’t admitted simply because I have a past with mental health. I asked to email someone so I may get an answer as to why this happened. They didn’t even send me the proper letter stating I wasn’t accepted into the program. No one ever got back to me and honestly it shattered me because here I am paying 3 times the amount of a state university to be discriminated by my past. I truly worked hard for my grades.Mari Molina

I personally did not like the college. I decided to leave after one semester because I didn’t feel the Christian culture as I should have. They don’t cater to commuter students. And the professors that I had didn’t care if you learned or not. The people in student services were rude to me and it showed me their true colors. They are nice when they want you to apply and mean after you apply. They lie and say they have scholarships to offer you and then in the end you have to take out loans. They chose my classes because I was a freshman and I didn’t like most of my teachers. They also put me in the wrong math class and when I transferred out it took so long that I already miss majority of the work and had to drop the class altogether. I wouldn’t recommend this college at all. They were expensive for no reason. I also didn’t like that they force you to do community service. When offering to the community it should be our choice because it will be in good will and our own choice. But when you force us we aren’t going it because we want to but because we have to so that we can graduate.Brittnay Baxter

I was a first year student at PBAU, and I can say whole-heartedly, the WORST school to be in, very uptight people and community. I got scammed by getting a 10k grant and got stuck with owing the school WAY more then was suppose to. The administration never gets back to you, and the new president gives all her work off and doesn’t try to reach out to the students- even when asked. Learn from the best. When I was 19 years old, I was accepted to the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. It was the highlight of my life at the time. The great teachers back then were Harv Dean and David Gideon. I went to school here part time for 9 months to learn acting at its very basic. If you can afford going to the school and want to learn acting from the aspect of the instrument, then I highly recommend going here. The most important thing I learned from this school, is that even if you attend the classes and do your scene work, you need to be out pounding the pavement and looking for work in the industry, an agent and possibly a manager. I would not call the school glamorous but it does show great pride and respect for people who walks through their doors. If you are serious about acting and show business, this is the place to be. Take a look at the names of the superstars that have graced these doors!.C H

Although I am old enough to be the GRANDmother of most of the students, I had the honor to chat with Lee Strasberg himself, one morning, years ago. He spent nearly a half hour on the phone with me – a total stranger. I had acting aspirations back then (I am a freelance writer today). And I have never forgotten his generosity, wisdom, and graciousness to me – someone he would never meet in person. I love stopping by whenever I can, to donate theatre books, costume pieces, and just sniff around who's doing what. A cool place, and a wonderful energy, carrying on the great Lee's tradition of realism, heart and acting from the soul!!!Cynthia Hawkins

Beautiful venue in an amazing location, plenty of restaurants and things to do within walking distance before and after the show. I went back to the kravis center for the first time in 10 years and it's as beautiful as ever. My only complaint is that the seat I had in the orchestra section felt cramped, I'm 6'2" though so It's a common problem for me. Floyd nation rocked, will definitely go see them again when they come back to the kravis.Sebastian

Had a stroke in Jan due to covid and it was my first time out to a big function and was worried as I had to use a wheelchair since I still can't walk long distances or stand long and the staff here was so kind and hospitable I felt extremely comfortable and had a wonderful night 🙂Liz Herchen

Beautiful theater! We went during the day as part of the star series. The attached parking garage made it easy to access the theater. There is good signage to help get you to the correct theater. The giraffes were beautiful. The tigers were beautiful when not pacing. The landscape is beautiful. Appreciate the flowers, the bamboo, can see the effort there. Otherwise, something sad, unfortunate, and dry was looming over the whole place in regards to the animals and empty exhibits. At least, we didn't see…No bald eagle, No turkeys, No wolf, No bear, No jaguar. Seems like so much was missing from past visits. No maps. In need of fresh paint & TLC in the exhibits, clean windows and doors. Saw more of what we thought were vultures than anything else and they were being sprayed to keep out of the flamingo exhibit when they were fighting as if they were waiting to scoop up the weak or dead ones. Just remember a different vibe when I was a kid here on field trips and visits with my children when they were little ones. They're adults now and they feel the difference too. Feels the animals need tire swings/toys or motivation to be happy. The animals that were there today are not giving off the vibe that they are happy.L B

I had solo blasting afternoon at the zoo to kill my time. I entered at 1.30 pm and I finished the trip at 5 pm on weekday and I covered most of it. Things to consider : —————————- – Book your tickets online in advance. They only accept cards every where no cash. – Get total experience ticket it’s worth every penny if you are visiting for the first time. It includes 1) feeding of – string rays , birds , Giraffe. 2) unlimited train rides. 3) 4D theatre experience. Along with Zoo entrance. – You are allowed get your own food ( better option I feel ) – Never miss 4D shows. Kids will love it . Go in advance if they say play is at 3 pm be there before 5 mins. —————————— I love the fact that gardens are really maintained well and with this crazy hot around I enjoyed walking in the afternoon too. I love the fact that volunteers are really very friendly. It’s above 5 star for their attitude and kind gesture. Overall it’s bit pricey but you will enjoy the trip with your total experience package.Asha Thakur

Visited on a Saturday. We love the layout of this zoo. It has been nearly 15 years since we visited JZ & G. We live near Columbus, Ohio, so we know what a top of the line metropolitan zoo looks like. We love how the parking is close to the entrance…and that there is no charge for parking. Getting tickets online before was very convenient and easy. The fact that we got to see three Sumatran Tigers made the price of admission worth it alone. The Asian section of the zoo is a definite highlight. We also like that they offer multiple viewing areas for animals. The sculpture art is top-notch, especially the dragon. A special highlight was the tree full of wood stork babies crying to be fed and their mothers all doing so. Staff was very friendly. The food was good. Only negative was that the women's restrooms need cleaned on a tighter rotation. Overall, a wonderful experience. Visited on
