Spent a year at the MSUM in Moorhead. Pro's: The Sociology program is fantastic. Dr. Vigilant is very knowledgeable and willing to really explain the 'nitty gritty' of what you are learning. Most of the other teachers are very nice and willing to help. Nice campus, the advisers are friendly and mostly available. Con's: The administration is horrible. Worse than horrible. I have been out of school for over 5 years and they still find ways to screw me over whenever I have to deal with them. From key administrative aids being out of the office for weeks, to the purposeful and never ending runaround you get from every single person from billing, to academics, to student aid, to the school board. They impose random holds on your account and never take them off, even after bringing in at least 3 people to resolve the issue. Its the poster-child for bureaucracy. Never trust anyone when they say they will "leave a message" and "I'm sure it's fine."Michael Wojciechowski

Good school. Excellent film, theatre, and education programs. A decent price for the full university experience without having to walk a mile to you next class. Knocked a star off because of the numerous classes cut and horrible decisions made by the last president. The dorms, and other campus facilities are undergoing numerous needed renovations. I would recommend this place to prospective students. Kise Commons on the other hand, best to avoid eating there for every meal. Trust me, you won't go #2 for days. Advice for new students… watch out for the squirrels. Seriously! Watch out for the squirrels! They'll ruin your day! I’m a mature student in the 3rd year of my undergraduate studies at Middlesex Uni, London, UK. Just had an excellent experience from one of the professors from the university who took time to politely respond to my information request regarding one of his excellent and renowned web published articles. Much of the SCSU campus is beautiful & worth a long walk or bike ride. Lovely historic old buildings & newer buildings show fascinating architecture. Plenty of gardens, benches & green space. Perfect for a decent environment on campus. Nice planning by SCSU leadership! Congrats! Unfortunately…. the city of St Cloud didn't have the same insight & planning skills. Some of the surrounding college neighborhood buildings are owned by cheap, incompetent, opportunistic landlords. Many rental houses & apartments are Ugly eye sores….and this reflects poorly on SCSU!! WHY THE HELL did the city of St Cloud not have stronger building, housing rental codes & regulations? For many years the City Council & other city leadership groups failed SCSU. The nearby older historic homes (on lovely tree lined streets) were once very nice….yet were allowed to seriously deteriorate & become a drawback. This has hurt SCSU regarding new perspective students, home buyers, businesses & visitors. Shameful….for years there must have been Very poor, weak, inept leadership in the city of St Cloud!!! I realize there have been some recent efforts to turn this neighborhood mess around. But the pitiful planning & damage was done over many decades….and the city is facing a very uphill battle. And sadly… SCSU has been left holding the proverbial bag.Richard Quigley

St Clous State isn’t too bad if you don’t care or aren’t paying out of your own pocket. The quality education is low. Lack of resource for students to succeed. Decent professors. Cleaning staffs and financial administration are great. Lacks student diversity and safety. Dorm security needs to be more secure, especially in Sherburn Hall. SCSU get most of their money from international Napel students. Student population is 80% Napel. Highly discourage anyone to attend. First semester/year, you’ll wish you never wasted time and money on SCSU. That’s why their graduation rate is so low (below 50%), students transfer out after attending the first semester/year. Academic Advisors are burnt out, and 1 per program with over 100 students. They don’t know what they’re talking about most of the time. Double check your transfer credits with the head professor of the actual department.Asia Love

Homecoming was fun but not very many participants. The school originally pushing it into October didn't help and then canceling it all together for a large part of a decade. The alumni and students kind of either don't remember or are apathetic towards the concept. The city and the school need to work together with the alumni, student organizations (especially the greeks who have a vested interest in their alumni) to make people interested in coming back every year. Downtown was dead too. School and City should benefit from each other.Jim F.

In the spring of my senior year of high school, I did a self guided 10 minute tour of Macalester with my mom (after applying to Mac on a whim). I saw a guy in overalls with crazy socks and crocs walking around campus and told my mom "I think I should go here." Macalester was not part of the plan, but I am so happy and grateful it became my home. Some of the best people on the planet are found here and they will challenge you and help you grow. Beautiful campus – especially in the fall! I love being able to go on runs by the Mississippi River and go to concerts in the Twin Cities. The people are also some of the most dedicated and engaged individuals I've ever met. My first year floormates remain some of my closest friends to this day. I also still keep in touch with professors. They are so accessible and really want to see you succeed! During my time at Mac, I had multiple professors invite me to their homes and take time to get to know me outside of the classroom. So forever grateful I was able to spend 4 amazing years at this school. I am not sure what the other people reviewing recently are talking about, as I felt the community at this campus is very welcoming and friendly. It is a catholic school so they do teach and emphasize catholic studies, however there are many classes that center around other beliefs. I never felt like my beliefs were being stomped on, and I am not catholic. Also, if you are worried about your social life and getting the college experience, don't be! You can definitely still have the college experience and attend St. Kate's. The campus always has activities going on, and there are many schools in the area. First I want to say my advisor was amazing she was super helpful through all this mess. I was supposed to start this month but they said they were missing things so I couldn’t get in until the next semester when they had everything. but we had already sent them everything we had sent to every other college we applied to. They were the only ones we had this problem with. They then today told me that we weren’t gonna be accepted due to the fact that they don’t accept the accredited bodies that my school was accredited by due to varying standards idk what that means. This school is way too expensive for an OTA degree. You can also get the same online degree at less expensive colleges. I do not recommend St. Kate’s to anyone. Unless you have the extra money to waste. Plus, their requirements are ridiculous. After spending 4 1/2 years at UNW my thoughts and experience would take a book to finish. But I'll try to be short. Pros. I loved most of my professors. I had professors who actually cared for my success and are willing to go out of their ways to help. Many of my professors knew me personally and I wasnt just a number in their schedule. Which I can't say my other friends from other colleges can say. UNW pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me realize what my passions are; through realizing how much I disagreed with the institution, but nevertheless I matured. The friends I've made. True and great friends who all felt the same. lol Cons: granted not every student is and thinks the same, but there's enough consensus to make me believe the school does way too little to better itself. Too much of the school thinks they're past racism. Whenever we reach a topic on anything related to culture or race we would have less than 2 days to talk about it while other topics used a week easily. Professors uncomfortability trumps the need to discuss out issues. Teachers have openly say diversity is the issue. 100% of school advertisement would showcase vast variety of diversity and multiculturalism, yet students of color makes less than 5% of the entire body. And 95% of the students in the advertisements don't even go to Northwestern. I know this because I know most of those students and they've graduated years ago. Academically it was subpar for the price of admission. Tuition jumped $10,000 within the time I was there. The school preaches love yet it's hard to find any. As a student of color, for years i felt so out of place. We were referred as a horde of animals, we were unvalued, and were expected to fit into that sameness the school holds on to. I've heard and seen many use their gospel to reject our presence. They're friendly on the outside but could care less about who you are. There's more I can say, but my verdict is this: if you like monoculture, ethnocentrism, expensive decent academics, and want to go back to your tiny town, then Northwestern is great for you. If you're a student of color who wants a supportive community, a student body that strives for cultural acceptance, understanding, and REAL gospel love equaled with high academic quality, go somewhere else. Save yourself A LOT of money.whatcha howsya

This school needs to adapt to the supply and demand of skills in the market workplace. There are more students than there are jobs demanding the skills that this college and colleges in general is teaching. For example, the MIS program focuses heavily on programming and not enough in other IT skills such as business intelligence, data analytics, business/systems analysis, and quality assurance. Sure, this program and its current state of heavy programming courses has worked well for most alumni's to get roles in both programming and non-programming jobs but that is not the case for some students that do not have that high of a GPA. These students will have a TOUGHER time finding a job in a IT role that they want because they were not given the ability to choose more courses relevant to their career choices as opposed to a student that is more technical savvy and understand technology in general better. Not saying that these students with lower GPAs won't find a job but just that it will be 2-3 times as tougher. Companies are looking for more than just programmers but yet UNW and colleges in general continues to push a lot irrelevant coding courses on them that they will never use. I have been out of this school for a while and not once have I have had the need to use java, xml, and visual basis nor did the roles I have interviewed for (from the IT topics I listed above) have asked for it. A lot of companies are hiring for business/systems analysis, business intelligence, data analytics, and quality assurance but programming is the main focus for this program. This program is still stuck in the 80s-90s. This school needs to start adapting to the supply and demand of the workplace market.James Smith

I loved parts of my time on at Northwestern. I was in choir, played on the men's soccer team, and participated in various student clubs. But let's be real, Northwestern is only a friendly place if you are a white evangelical who is cool with patriarchy and spiritualized ethnocentrism. Do not attend if you are a person of color. They are institutionally racist and theologically conservative. I majored in education ( I now teach in South Bronx) and was not trained well to educate a diverse classroom. I even had professors deny racism was a real issue … In education, are you serious? (Can you say school to prison pipeline ?) The biblical studies department act like the Jesus police, and do not appreciate any perspective outside of selective biblical literalism. There are a few shining stars on staff who think outside the box, but they are literally apart of the underground and cannot speak openly in fear they will be excommunicated and fired. One saving grace is that Ron Ginn got me a placement teaching in North Minneapolis where I found great mentors. Such a sweet and loving man. This is a wonderful place if you are straight, conservative, classist, theologically conservative, white and plan to never interact with anyone outside of white evangelicalism. Be prepared to have loving people shame you with the bible if you think differently or look differently. To all the high school freshman posting reviews and rating AMDA 5 stars stop. You do not go there. Do not give it a bigger head than it already has. Attended in 2013-2014 would have been one star if it weren't for some (a few) wonderful teachers. (Stacy Lee, Kathy, Jeff, Tim,and Ray thank you) I am posting this review because they just posted an instagram post about 13 reasons why. They said check this out help is available. Would have been nice if that was ACTUALLY TRUE. However, if you have any sort of mental health problems you are told to grow up! (By teachers AND THE DAMN COUNSELOR) you are told stories of how the show must go on fake it til you make it. If you cannot stop crying you are weak, and theater is just a hobby for you. The teachers name drop and make you feel bad about yourself for not being Jason Derulo.The only person who helped me get help was my acting teacher (god bless him), who sent me to the counselor who told me I was acting like a child and that I need to prioritize. "If this isn't for you you don't have to be here" I told him this is the most depressed I've ever been. No offer to find therapy near me. No weekly meetings. No follow up visit. He suggested I find a new dream. So I did but now I'm 25,000 dollars in debt after 9 of the worst months of my life. Like others have said AMDA is what you make it but if you have any sort of mental health issues don't count on getting any help. PS. The dorms have a large scary roach problem, pretty sure it used to be a mental hospital (how fitting) PPS. I can acknowledge that I learned a good deal in my acting and VPS classes. I joined AMDA NYC back in 2021 Fall. This school has changed my life. Incredible staffing who are all working professionals within the acting world and all are incredibly motivated, fun and inspiring. My time at this school has been nothing but positive thus far and, the school continues to get better and better. I have done my own reading into reviews and the bad reviews have definitely changed. I have seen things change here, I have seen things become progressively better for the students here at AMDA. AMDA has become much more of a supporting and safe environment for not just me but for everybody who needs it. You certainly learn a lot here, develop great connections with your teachers and get plenty of opportunities out here. I myself, am certainly glad that I chose this school. My daughter just graduated in Sept 2017 from NYC in dance. She had a very positive experience from start to finish! Starting with Elliott Kerr, Assistant Director of Admissions. Elliott did a nice job of answering all our questions and helping get all our paperwork completed. Our daughter loved all her teachers and has said through out her program, "this is the right school for me." They want everyone to attend classes on campus. Come on. They proudly and loudly proclaim "Saint Paul College – We're Back this Fall". There are multiple new COVID variants out now with record hospitalizations in MN but Saint Paul college wants us all on campus. My wife and I are both working from home. Our employees cared enough about our safety to let us do this, but Saint Paul college wants us all on campus. My wife is taking classes at a private college and they told her all classes will be online, at least for now. No need to risk your health and come in, but Saint Paul college wants us all on campus. Thankfully I did my research by talking to them and decided against going here. Spending a little more so that I can stay at home and take my Lit classes online. Don't bother with this place. If you can, spend a little extra and have the peace of mind that you won't end up in the ICU with a tube down your throat. There, I did my research so you don't have to. Feel free to call them. I havnt attended this school, & along with my experience so far & reading the reviews I may not. I have a degree; however, I work as a nursing assistant. I love my job, but I often see aids being treated pretty poorly. So, as I get older, I thought maybe I could look into being an LP . In this role, I could work fairly with the aides around me…blah, blah, blah. So I requested more information. I recieved no call back, only an email saying I had to put an application in. Eh, no. I want information from you, to see if this is a good fit, so I can decide if I want to put an application in….I guess, maybe within the bigger picture, I did get the information I needed.Jane Hallett

I ate at the City View Cafe at St. Paul College. This is the cafe that is operated by the students in the culinary program. I recently enjoyed the Valentines Tasting menu and it was fantastic. The only criticism I had for the meal was the shell on the dessert was a bit thick (I cannot believe I am complaining about dessert). It was hard to gracefully eat but it was so worth it. The combination of flavors was divine. If this meal was any indication of the talent these students have, we are going to have sone great chefs (hopefully in the Twin Cities area) in the future.Sharon Moen

Great facilities. Everything else was lacking. I experienced little or no guidance when selecting a major or finding a career. Really disappointed with the instruction, the curriculums, it’s really hard to get the classes you want. safety is not great, I had a laptop stolen, was almost run over in the parking lot by a drunk driver and security did nothing both times. The culture at the school is very clique-ish, It’s not the most welcoming environment, it doesn’t help that most students are introverts and that this is the Midwest and everyone is passive aggressive. This all leads to a toxic environment that’s palpable at times. Students are wound so tight because classes are long, the attendance is strict and everyone is tired from pulling all-nighters all the time because the competitive pressure is huge, That wouldn’t be so bad but Campus life is non-existent there is no meal plan, the cafeteria hours aren’t great. Finally students are held to a higher standard than the faculty and staff, an example: it’s annoying to lose a letter grade if you miss two classes, but then have a teacher that’s late and under prepared everyday is irritating. There is no excuse for late work yet grades are never updated in a timely fashion. The school likes to have this polished image for its donors and when the school throws events students are treated like second class citizens. And for many of the instructors this just seems like a job for them to pad their resume, that’s why there is such a large turnover with instructors at MCAD.Jeffrey Tuura

Having been in the workforce now for almost 7 years, I can say my education at MCAD has shown to be exceptionally better than a state university. The practical experience I received at MCAD made me stand out at the beginning of my career. Now I see how I’m more open to new ideas, I’m more creative, have a lot more patience, and I’m much more team oriented than my peers. I would suggest the BSc program at MCAD to anyone looking at going into marketing or advertising as a career. No college is perfect. MCAD professors can be hit or miss. The counseling side when I was there was non-existent. The college itself markets itself as being prestigious, when a majority of students are giant geeks who just love making art. Which to me is what makes the school fun and interesting. But at the end of the day, if I could do it all over again, I’d still pick MCAD. Best decision I ever made.Jenna Ballinger

I attended the Pre-College Summer Session in 2017 here at MCAD and I love every minute of it. The campus is perfect for all of our needs. The Art Cellar here is top notch and have everything from paints to pens to paper. Anything an art student would need at an affordable price. The Service Bearau here is also very good. The people there are super helpful in assisting me with my final project. The College Center here has a ping pong table as well a pool table & arcade machine. The campus is also very close to Nicollet Ave. so there is easy access to a bunch of restaurants and cafes.Angela Zhang

Bethany Lutheran Church, worshipping virtually (Zoom), physically distancing, but keeping our ties is now conducting the Sunday at 10 am Worship Services from the beautiful Gundale Chapel on Augsburg Campus. At this time limited to only worship leaders on site we are looking forward to when we can safely gather in person. Augsburg University and especially Leif Anderson has been wonderful to work with as Bethany moves out into the community and into a public church in passing on its physical building to Augsburg. Augsburg's support of spiritual and faith growth of its students and community within different religions is a joy to see and Bethany is glad to be a part of that.Lorraine Wookey

The cafeteria is subpar, not only in food quality, but in sanitary means. There is low variety and Augsburg encourages food waste by requiring that students' meals fit certain criteria, because they are paid to do so. As for cleanliness, the floors are sticky, and it is common to find a crushed banana or two on the floor. The tables and floors are not cleaned regularly, if at all, resulting in an unhealthy eating environment, full of bacteria. Not to mention, this school encourages unhealthful habits such as food waste and cleaning habits. This cafeteria should not remain in service.Ansel Erol (Sir. Anselot)

My mother, sister, and I are all proud alumnus of Augsburg (Class of 97', 08' & '16). The professors are great – they are always willing to help a student. Every year, at the beginning of the Fall Semester, students go out and volunteer around the community. They invite well-known speakers (i.e. Bill Nye, Steve Wozniak, and Jimmy Carter) to campus; both the public and students are invited to attend. They are open to all regions, not just Lutherans. I would recommend this school to anyone, but consider going to Community College then transferring, it helps with the cost.Tiffiney Biorn

Having graduated from NCU with a degree in Media Communication, I can confidently say that attending college there was one of the best decisions I have made! Great school to work on personal development. However, their general education classes are abismal and I would say there have been about 8-10 classes that hold substantial value. Their systems are very bad. I've been here three years and every semester I need to look over all my bills and classes and spend hours meeting with people in different offices to fix my billing and class rosters. I was 2013 graduate from here. I came here because my entire tuition was paid for by scholarship. Loved the setting. Loved the dining options. But I had to really advocate for myself in the science department. I did not understand why one professor placed all my classmates in internships except for me. She said the requirements did not apply to me as the rest so I could choose where I wanted to intern, only to be told later when I found my own location that the same requirements were still to apply at wherever I interned. Another professor refused to brainstorm or clarify for me what he was looking for in a theory question yet he would not accept mine.. so I could not complete his class and had drop it because the rest of semester was going to revolve around the whole theory. Most disappointing of all, my advisor's only advice was for me to drop out or to transfer. While grateful for any kind of experience, I felt there were no resources or support.Kablia Vang

As a former student it's a great college. The campus is very homely feeling and is catered to the undergrad experience. There is always events and speakers to attend. The music recitals are also a lot of fun. The classes outside freshmen year were normally no larger then about 20 people. The professors and staff in general were always very accommodating. The gym and pool are really nice if you go here. The dinning hall has good food, but can be a bit expensive even with meal plans.Bear Oldcastle

Having transferred to Concordia from a larger university in the region, I can safely say that what this school offers is a unique experience and a great education. A member of the Class of 2006, I still think back on the tremendous influence of Minnehaha on my life. Though MA is an academically rigorous college prep school, teachers see students beyond their academic ability. They are equally devoted to helping students grow as whole people as they model critical thinking, compassion and humility. 15 years after graduating, many of my former teachers are still working at Minnehaha. In a field with so much burnout, it's worth noting that teachers at MA stay for the long haul. This speaks to their passion, their devotion to students and to the MA community at-large. When I went to college, I was able to test out of a handful or required college courses due to the various AP options available to me at MA. I've always been thankful for that. Academics aside, the best part about Minnehaha is that it is a community that helped bring my faith to life. We have always felt to blessed to have the privilege of attending such an excellent school where the Christian values are taught as truth, and the teachers and all the faculty have a genuine heart for Christ. And, at the same time, differences of opinions and beliefs are not judged. My children thrived and are thriving in the nurturing environment. The challenging academic environment sufficiently prepares my children for college. Steppingstone produces high-quality, professional shows with amazingly talented and hard-working actors. The amount of work and time put in to each rehearsal process is incredible. I like how the Core Company members check in with each of the actors to see how they are doing with the show and balancing schoolwork, to see if there is anything they can do to help. It is a supportive, inclusive, educational, but extremely fun environment. The staff are very collaborative with the actors, but definitely know what they are doing and have a lot of prior theatre experience. The costume and set designs are awesome too!Hannah Buss

Amazing theater! The kids did amazing we saw beauty and the beast. The seats were nice and the isles were wide. Wider than normal theaters. The stage was large and had nice sets. The two story ceiling was very cool. They projected lights on the dome and it had a very cool effect! The front of the house was decorated nicely for the show and we'll maintained! WHAT A FANTASTIC THEATRE! My family and I attended "Aladdin Jr." at the Stepping Stone Theater. That was our first visit to the theater. My husband and I were beyond impressed with the stage production, special effects and diversity not only on stage, but in the audience as well. The young actors and actresses were fantastic! Our children (ages 3 and 7) also really enjoyed the production. We have since been back to see other productions and overall love this theatre!E J P

Confetti is the true definition of a circus. I was in awe the entire time. Seeing the circus played throughout its history and evolution through time travel was the best. Clowns are my favorite part of the circus and I fell in love with Circus Juventas' interpretation of clowns. The makeup, costumes, props (that horse!), music and lightning were exceptional. The performers brought it all together so skillfully. I also give major props to the staff who helped resolve our ticket mixup with grace, speed and professionalism. Only 4 stars coz the pretzels didn't come with cheese but don't let that stop you from catching a show.Gretchen Younger

I kept thinking it was done… and then it kept going. 3 hour show, including 25 minute intermission. So will more than get your money's worth. The tent felt nicely cooled but I was boiling hot and sweaty by the time we left. I was either rubbing thighs and arms with the large woman next to me, or scooted forward in my seat to avoid contact with her. The seats are pretty small.S M

First and foremost, amazing. Just an incredible production of what the human body can do. That being said, A three hour program is just too long. Every other aspect was incredible, and the entire show was awe inspiring, but maybe it's my ADHD, but three hours is just too much. I still have to give it 5/5, because it's truly an amazing experience, and all of the supporting pieces (parking, snacks, staff, ect.) is top notch.Joseph Sebast

Plan ahead notes: go early! We went half an hour before the show started and we were glad we did because parking in Lyn Lake is never simple. The theatre has a small lot, but it fills up quickly, so plan on meter/street parking. Also note that they currently request proof of vaccination. Review: very fun! We went to see Star Trek: the Next Improvisation and had a great time! The setting is small and casual (the theatre holds about 100) and the casts are very on point and funny. They have a small bar in the back of the house where you can get 1 drink for about $5, but I didn’t see any non-alcoholic choices, so something to note if you can’t have alcohol. HUGE is one of my favorite spots in Minneapolis. It's a small theater with a huge variety of improv available, and the tickets are reasonably priced (cheap, even – in other words, excellent value)! Classes are excellent, too, and you can rent the theater as a practice space. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. There are decent NA options in the lobby and a bar in the theater if you'd like a beverage while you watch. Check out multiple shows on Fridays and Saturdays, sometimes-experimental improv on Sundays, or a variety show on Wednesdays. Or watch/join an improv jam on Thursday night.Amanda Helling

HUGE Theater is more than just shows–it is a community treasure. Each performance is "the actors' and directors' own interpretation of how to solve the puzzle of long form improv." If you have a bad experience, talk to the staff (or some random improviser in the audience) about what shows they would recommend. If you have a good experience, share it with others. And if you are one of those people sitting in the crowd thinking "I could this," then do it. Take a class, check out a jam, immerse yourself in a community that strives to live up to the motto of "Yes, and…."Amy Burge

I love that every seat feels so close to the stage! I recommend wearing good shoes to walk in though. I forgot about that and ended up wearing shoes that were not very comfortable and the old seats are rough on my back, so it was not a nice experience for my body, but after stretching and standing through the intermission, the show was worth it. I'm sure others don't struggle as much with chronic pain so it's not a common review for a theater with such vintage charm. It would sure be nice though to have some updated seating and easier, more noticeable signs to follow to locate the escalator and our seats.Sarah

What a top notch performance! Saw EMMA…the cast was unbelievably talented. We had 2nd row seats but looking around-there really is no "bad" seat. Well worth the money!!! The infinity overlook of the city was fantastic. Explore the 9th floor too if you get a chance-a 360 view of the surrounding city. Masks still required at all times. Helpful staff. Only drawback was no ability to buy refreshments at intermission. BRAVO! (If you get there early enough-park on the street because it's cheaper and easier to beat the rush post performance.)Beth Powers

EMMA WAS SOOOOO GOOD! They had a amazing staff team, actors, writer, director with some great 4th wall breaks. Even though we had bad seating we still were engaged and laughed so much at the end. I wanted some gruel! I thought I wouldn't like it but I was pleasantly surprised. I hope to come back this Christmas and see what show you have then or just to hang out in the lobby if it is open. Providence Academy is a school like no other! When we chose to send our daughter there for kindergarten, we knew it was a special place. Now that we are almost at the end of the school year, it is hard to put into words just how special it is! The love, faith, virtues, and knowledge that are poured into the children sets Providence apart. Our daughter has learned so much academically, and even more importantly, she has learned to go to Jesus first and has felt loved and supported by her teachers every day. She genuinely loves going to school, and even in light of distance learning this year, she continues to thrive and smiles every time she "sees" her teacher and classmates in their daily meetings. I wish I would have received the education my children are getting at Providence Academy. The teachers at Providence love the kids. My children come back from college and run to the school to see their former teachers, now friends. The 3 that have graduated from PA have gone on to very different Universities but they have all been successful. My oldest daughter attended Harvard and she was often asked by teachers where she attended high school because she had an amazing understanding of the Dignity of the Human Person and she could communicate and defend her beliefs. My four kids have been here since kindergarten. They are now in 5th-9th grade. The teachers are top notch– most especially in the lower school. The education is second to none. The facilities are beautiful and it's a peaceful place during the school day. There is order and structure, which kids crave, but it's also a place that encourages critical thinking and creativity. I could not imagine our 3 children attending any other school than New Life Academy. 5 years ago we were welcomed with open arms to a school we knew little about other than their desire to provide a solid Christian education and to encourage the students to be more like Jesus. Every person at this school is a sinner but what I have witnessed from the administration, faculty, student body and fellow families is forgiveness and inclusion. As a mother, I often tell my children how fortunate they are to have a school that breaths life and truth into them in this fallen dark world. I have seen firsthand difficulties in my children that are promptly addressed with love and direction towards Godly character. That will not happen in other schools and that is why we continue to support our school in every which way. New Life is a second home to the entire family and anyone who walks through their doors will feel and understand that.Lindsey Hudson

I have been at this school since kindergarten and all of the cliques and favoritism have been kind of overwhelming. the rules are getting more strict each year and the chapel services/ community groups are repetitive and most people I know don't look forward to them. in most of my classes the teachers don't really relate to the students, they just tell you to take notes and assign you homework. Setting this aside I have had some very encouraging, amazing teachers that really want to teach and make students want to learn. These teachers have really helped and I wish the school would hire more people like this. New Life Academy is a phenomenal school that simply didn't have the resources to hire another nurse for this diabetic child due to the fact that they don't get money from the state. Diabetic children and other children with health problems have done very well here. This school is extremely accepting and many of the reviews I have read to not reflect the love and kindness that my children and many others have experienced here. No one at this school is perfect and everyone is loved. They do a phenominal job at reflecting the love of Christ and seeing all of these negative reviews from people who have no experience here makes me sick.Teagen Johnson

We had an amazing night! My mother wanted a nice night out for her birthday, so my sister & BIL, my mother herself, and my wife and two sons came out! They were performing pieces from Fantasia while the movie played and it was fun! As the conductor said, "the 80 year old movie is timeless!", and she was right! The drinks are great, plus you can pre-order during happy hour for intermission at the happy hour rates! The bathrooms are clean, as is everything else! Parking is easy to get to, was easy to get out as well! This was a fun night out and we will be happily coming back for another show in the future!Joe Baratta

Absolutely fantastic as always. Acoustics even for a high school that were truly quite remarkarble and honestly? Surprising at such incredible talent. One would think such solos or small band ensembles with such power wouldn't quite exist yet and lemme tell you. I was so wrong and SO humbled in sheer awe. Way to go Southwest Lakers! I went for an Indigo Girls concert with the Minnesota Symphony. Orchestra Hall is visually amazing! Such interesting shapes and great ever-changing lighting. It feels so grand! Not 5 star because a common comment during intermission was that people could not actually hear the words of the songs. I think the orchestral music overwhelmed the voices. Still, it was a great night and the crowd was the best.Mandolinman58

One of Minneapolis' best kept secrets – Dudley Riggs is the oldest satirical comedy club in the country, having been around for 60 years! Their shows are usually two part sketch comedies with minimal props and costumes. There is a short (15 minute) improv segment after the show too, which is included in your show ticket (or you can pay $5 to see just the improv)! Shows are hit or miss but generally very funny, and quite offensive. Not for the faint of heart! They also serve signature, humorously named cocktails to drink during the show and intermission.Shard Milne

I took classes here and I was very disappointed. In Improv when someone does or says something,your response should be, "yes, and…". The instructor screamed NO! at me and another guy in class and it completely destroyed my confidence from that moment on. I felt like a scared kid being screamed at. I couldn't recover from it and I was unable to perform after that. I don't recommend taking classes here.Nancy Schultz

This place is just awesome! My husband and I have been to 6 shows, and there's a reason we keep returning! A very energetic and talented cast, topical themes.
