KD Conservatory is a fantastic, intensive, pro-active program that will teach you everything you need to know to confidently enter the world of entertainment on any level, be that live theatre, television, broadcast, film on ANY side of the camera (actors, writers, directors, producers, all forms of the crew, etc…), as well as build you a rock solid foundation of acting technique, acute physical awareness, and an entertainment business acumen on which to accurately and responsibly make choices about your work. Furthermore, KD Conservatory has not only aided my education and lead me to professional work in my industry, but the school has facilitated the same success to my circle of alumni (of no less than a dozen that I can recall off-hand) who all continue to make money doing what they love- acting, singing, dancing, music directing, directing, producing, and teaching. Advice: Don't EVER accept advice on acting from somebody who is not a successful working actor. Don't seek their counsel because they know nothing. People who say that this school is a scam are either not serious enough about their career to understand the training they really need. OR, they are already beyond the teaching they could potentially receive at KD and should, therefor, already be booking professional gigs. Lastly, BE ADSIVED, NOTHING WILL BE HANDED TO YOU. I have been training at KD Conservatory for 4 weeks now as a Musical Theatre major and let me tell you that this place is amazing. There are some amazing opportunities from training with Michael Serrechia and putting on Musical performances to learning Ballet technique to learning piano, increasing your acting abilities, jazz, tap, vocal performance and so much more!!! My experience was great! My daughter's teacher was amazing! Not to often you find a teacher who loves what they do and are good at it! I'd recommend this school to my family and friends! I have been acting professionally for a few years now and I must say I wish I had started this course sooner! Definitely one of the best acting training courses in the DFW area. TBell acting Studio classes are great for all acting levels. The price is well worth it plus, in my opinion it adds a bit more professionalism to the talent pool. Hands down great studio. When I first auditioned (one of the only studios in the area which you have to audition for. Welcome to the industry.) I just knew I nailed it and was honestly disappointed to hear I got placed in beginners class. After being coached by April Hartman, I later realized why I was not ready for intermediate classes. I did not know how to brake down a script, scene study, or even quickly memorize lines. Once I was well established with the steps and it was time for me, I then got moved to intermediate class by TBell. I was excited and nervous at the same time. This is the instructor for crying out loud lol. With TBell she doesn’t just allow you to give a little of yourself. She pushes you to commit to the character. I cannot stress how you will start to watch tv/film so differently. Oh and not to mention, when in network sessions the name comes top tier in DFW ;).Raven

I've been studying under Michelle Sherrill for a little over a year. I audited classes with other studios in the area but this studio felt like home immediately. Not only is Michelle a passionate instructor but she is amazingly intuitive. She has an other-worldly knack for asking you questions about your preparation and character that you never would have thought of yourself. This is really important when you are trying to bring characters to life! The studio focuses on the Meisner technique and Michelle offers great resources and book recommendations on the topic. Classes are once a week and very affordable. We practice audition technique (my favorite day!) memorized on and off camera scenes and then a "free" day where we can practice anything from sight reading and self-taping to the actual business of marketing yourself as an actor. This is an amazing school. All the instructors are of the highest caliber. My daughter takes piano and voice at DAMPA. She has been there a year and has improved beyond anything I could ever imagine. She is learning to read music and even compose a bit. Sarah, is her voice teacher, and she is such an amazing talent. She has really helped my daughter grow in confidence with her range. She is also very good at not only teaching voice but teaching the kids how to be an artist. She gives my daughter songs that compliment her old soul. Sarah, is the ultimate professional and truly loves her craft. That passion for music fuels the kids I believe. My daughter has so much respect for her and works hard, in between lessons, because she feels that is what is expected with Sarah. I love it. Paul, her piano teacher is also fabulous. He is a natural teacher. You can tell that he really loves what he does and has a real connection with the kids. He has a very impressive background. Many of his students have ended up on the "Voice". Paul, is a unique piano and voice teacher because he likes to move along at a bit of a faster pace, so the kids don't get bored by repeating the same songs. My daughter has advanced at an incredible rate. She can now download the sheet music of any song off the internet and play it. She is even composing her own songs now on the piano. I can't recommend this school enough. The staff is all really kind and encouraging and really on top of it. They have a lot of activities like Open Mic Nights, musicals and recitals through out the year. So your child will have a lot of opportunities to perform if they want that.julia briggs

No recommend at all. Not organized. I did sign up the class for my baby girl and I have scheduled to come in her class. When I got there and the teacher was said she dis not her has my baby class that day. So I went there of nothing. That is really mess up. Time is so important nowadays and when you take time to take your baby go class and when you show up, they said they can teach my baby one hour later. Not good place to recommend at all. If you sign up and just bring headache to you. Now I have to deal how to cancel and get refund. Really headache and wasting time. You should find somewhere else better than this one.Emma Ramon

My daughter started school here this year and she loves it. She attends the conservatory program which is online academic classes from 9-12 and performing arts classes from 12-4. I love the Playground Acting Program. I took The Professional Aspects of Acting class in Spring 2021 and am now taking Adult Scene Study in Fall 2021. The classes do a fabulous job of reinforcing various things I’ve learned in previous acting classes while teaching me several new things and new ways to approach a performance or audition. When I started Drama Kids I was a chubby 3rd grader who got teased a lot in school. However, over the 9 years I spent in the program I truly transformed. Drama Kids taught me how to be confident in myself and that I was more than the mean things kids would say to me on the playground. It gave me a place to fit in and make friends as I grew up. Drama Kids is a fantastic program! The kids have a blast. The teaching method that is used not only improves the kids’ acting abilities, but their public speaking skills as well. Drama Kids builds confidence in kids and prepares them for their futures. The skills they learn from this program will help them later in life wether it be for an audition, college speech course or a job interview. The Dallas franchise is currently #1 in the nation and even with all those kids, it is well organized and managed. The staff is helpful with questions/concerns and it is obvious that the teachers genuinely care for their classes. About a year ago, my husband and I decided to support our daughter’s request to begin acting lessons. Neither of us have any experience with acting let alone the industry so in our naivety, we heard an ad o the radio for a casting call for kids wanting to “make it” in the acting industry. We attended the seminar and thankfully very quickly realized that this organization was a potential scam. While the experience definitely made us extremely cautious our daughter still wanted to pursue her love of acting. After a few weeks of doing detailed research, we came across Dallas Young Actors Studio. After reading many reviews and doing an extensive background search, we auditioned for Linda. We’ve been amazed ever since! The weekly classes are not only fun for her to attend but offer relevant training that can be applied to acting in the tv/movie industry which is vastly different than theater performances. Our daughter also participated in two summer camps that gave her real-world experience in sitcom acting – there’s even a live taping! This past spring, she participated in the Hollywood Showcase in front of a top Hollywood children’s agency and Hollywood Casting Director. Her scene was carefully chosen and rehearsed for almost two months – this was extremely impressive and I knew that this showcase offered a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be seen by some of the top agents and casting directors in Hollywood. After the showcase, our daughter was invited to Hollywood to audition for the agency department heads and has since been auditioning for various roles, including some feature film voice over roles. This place is amazing!!! My daughter started at DYAS in the acting classes at 14yrs old. She has always done theater, but really wanted to do more in TV/Film. We found DYAS and it has been wonderful! This is a beautiful facility with a wide range of programming in a very unlikely place. you owe it to yourself to take a trip just passed the design district to check out this remarkable theater.when you do go, be sure to tell the parking attendants that you are attending the theater and they will send you right to the lot. I went to see Magic Mike in his family performance scheduled the first Saturday of every month. The show was entertaining, lively, and engaging for everybody in the audience no matter what the age. Being there let me see all the other remarkable improvisational comedy performances, classes, and other events that Stomping Ground has to offer. Had such a great time at the opening show for Stomping Ground! My cheeks hurt at the end of the night because I had such a smile on my face. Because it was such a fun night, I signed up for one of the Improv for Life classes. My mom and I were looking for ways to deal, or maybe a better choice of words is communicate, with my grandmother. So the caretakers for dementia patients class was perfect. I learned some skills that taught me that she needs to still feel validated. We saw Puffs. The show was amazing. The venue was ok. There were no paper towels in the bathrooms 30 minutes before showtime. The seats were incredibly uncomfortable. Blown away!! My son recently performed in the school play, and he did quite well. Then he asked to do another play so I started looking for theater opportunities for him. I found the North Texas Performing Arts and sent an email. Brought the info home and discussed it then signed him up for his first theater camp. He was excited every day of camp and came home every day with a smile. The show was brilliant, fun, and so worth it. Seeing these young people get so into their parts and bringing the story to life was amazing. I greatly enjoyed the shows I participated in at this theater, however as time went on they became more focused on who donated more, and began to cast based on that. There was a lot of favoritism shown by some directors for students who's parents volunteered and donated money, and those who's parents were busy were often cast as ensemble regardless of skill or experience. The administration there is rarely concerned with anyones opinions if they don't donate any money. Watching the shows is a fun experience.Hannah Firestar

This is an amazing facility and the number of shows and the quality is outstanding. My family and I drive from Irving to attend performances there and I am always blown away by the talent of the kids and adults. I booked the Gables for a 10hr conference event and it could not have been more perfect. Troy took care of us so incredibly well that our attendees thought he was a close friend of the speakers and a volunteer. We could not have asked for a better experience or a better price. No other venue this size has so much value, and rarely do venues ever care as much as Troy did for us. He even helped us when we were carrying our personal belongings to our cars, and went to the parking lot with us to say goodbye. I am so sad to have to write this review. We love RCT and were season tickets holders for years before moving out of the metroplex. We were looking forward to seeing NEWSIES this month but had a conflict with the date for tickets I purchased in April online. They will not change our date because we purchased tickets online. DO NOT purchase tickets online, ONLY purchase through the box office. I don't understand the policy and am disappointed that there isn't something they can do. Kemp High School students visit to RCT was a success. They are now ready to read the book Pride & Prejudice. Thank you Debra, they loved it! The students collectively enjoyed it. I think one of the main things that made it come to life for them (besides it being live) was that it was a small theatre house. We were so nicely informed that we lost our entire ticket sales due to the fact it was for the 2021 performance only upon calling them after getting the information for their newest performances, and should have been told that originally which we weren't. Our 7 and 4 year old have attended a semester worth of theater classes and have thoroughly enjoyed it! Miss Annie is always friendly with parents! She has a friendly yet firm tone when working with the kiddos and as a parent, I think we need more of that kind of direction instilled in our kiddos. My girls have had the opportunity to learn things like patience (waiting their turn), communication (speaking loudly so the audience can hear you) as well as discipline (when you start something, you have to finish. Even on the long nights or when you don't want to go.) We reside about 40 minutes away so we are currently debating on whether or not we'll do another semester. My daughter is on her 3rd play with Breitling Youth Theater. She has enjoyed her experiences with Ms Annie and her staff. Ms Annie is great with kids of all acting ability levels from beginners to more experienced. She finds a way for each kid who comes to have a part in her plays. I was very impressed with how the play came together from the beautiful costumes to how well the kids knew their lines! If you want to increase your child's confidence or let them use their dramatic personality in a positive way bring them to Ms Annie!Jennifer Wheat

We have been very happy with our decision to relocate to Texas from Kansas for our oldset to train pre professionally in all dance styles. All five of our children take class at TDC. Our youngest enjoy the recreational program while our 14 year old prepares for a career. I highly recommend The Dallas Conservatory for all your dance, acting, vocal and instrumental needs.Megan W

I'm not sure who runs the bookings email but they're not friendly and their customer service is horrible. They're also suppose to check the email twice a day (supposedly) yet it took days for me to get a reply. I will happily be working with Preston Hollow Dance instead.Q G

This is great place if you're just starting to play around with voice acting or if you're a seasoned vet. I take the group classes and they are super fun, you get time on the mic and classmates are usually super encouraging and enthusiastic! The staff here are all very knowledgeable and can help get you to where you want to be! Only drawback to group classes is they can be a bit long but that is usually no problem because time flies when you're having fun! 10/10 would reccommendVanessa Webb

Voices Carey started my voice acting career. I always had talent, but never really knew how to utilize it. Bruce has crafted a program that guides you through every element of the voice acting industry, including several hidden secrets. I've seen actors of all levels of experience come through the program and go on to have immense success. I cannot recommend Voices Carey enough.Brian Pappas
