We were working on our project (Our Green Hope) today where we used 3000 reusable bags to make the largest mosaic. The worker at the campus were friendly and supportive. After finishing the project, all the 3K bags were given for FREE at Kroger to encourage people to start using reusable bags instead of plastic grocery bags. A majority of the positive reviews on this site are biased and are from the staff. Please, heed the warnings that you see here. Some of these positive comments come as a result of the staff coercing someone to post a positive review. Please, do not believe the positive reviews – for the sake of your wallet and academic progress. Coming to this college was nothing but a huge waste of time and money. By far the worst college ON THE PLANET. Please, go anywhere else but here. A lot of the credits do not transfer, the staff is rude and doesn't care about you, and a professor at Sinclair told me that they consider these classes to be sub-standard. Don't waste your time or money. The only thing they care about is your money. I understand that you may want to attend a community college because it's cheaper, but do keep in mind that you only get what you pay for and at clark state that isn't much! Low tuition fees = low quality institution. The professors are not here because they want to ensure the success of their students. They're here to collect a paycheck and enhance the appearance of their resumes.John S

It is so incredibly difficult and annoying trying to contact ANYONE at Clark State. Trying to speak with anyone at all via phone during normal business hours during the day on a normal weekday is just a string of voicemail after voicemail and no one ever calls back. The only way to accomplish anything, even having a simple question answered, is to physically go to the school and deal with someone directly. And even then, probably 90% of the staff are not helpful and talk to you like you are incompetent. I am finally finishing up my 2 years at Clark State in order to get the classes that I need to transfer into a 4 year school. It has been a constant battle to get anything done at this school. The teaching staff HAS been very helpful, but the staff that work in the offices (testing center, records & registration, cashier's office) are so condescending it is unbelievable. After spending thousands of dollars every semester to attend classes here, you would think the staff would be just only SLIGHTLY more respectful.Alisha Scott

My daughter has been trying to reach out to Clark to attend this Fall and NOBODY has returned her messages or calls. So I decided to check into the ratings on this community college. After reading some of the reviews with low ratings I’m understanding why Clark will not return my daughters calls or messages. I’m willing to try one more time in the hopes of getting an explanation. However, if I cannot get a hold of anyone, then I will take it that this is my sign that Clark is obviously NOT the college for my daughter. I would rather look for another college for her to attend with a much better education. if Clark cannot get their stuff together to return messages and called to students that are wanting to attend a hen how can they have their stuff together to teach students. I am an alumni. B.S. Chemical Engineering 2008, M.S. Biomedical Engineering 2012. I chose CSU as my undergrad school over Case Western because Case is ridiculously expensive and I received a full scholarship to CSU. My mother told me I could choose whatever school I wanted but if I passed the scholarship up for 40k+ a year in debt she would kill me. Thanks mom, you were right as always! The Chemical and Biomedical Engineering departments are outstanding. Great faculty, small class sizes, professors that legitimately care about the students but also won't put up with BS from students that aren't taking their own (or their classmates') education seriously. The head of the BME department at the time had a major impact on my life. He personally took interest in helping me get a full scholarship during the second year of my M.S. (Choose Ohio First scholarship), helped me land a Teaching Assistant position AND a fantastic internship. THANK YOU! CSU is not perfect though. I had some bad professors (and also excellent ones) in the math and physics departments. That is hard to avoid at any school. Many of the school departments are much, much bigger than mine so you may lose some of the personal interest from professors when your graduating undergrad class is more than 12 like mine. I tried to make use of the career center multiple times but they were not helpful in job searching. Also the Fenn College of Engineering (now the Washkewicz College of Engineering) building is woefully old and dated. It's so bad that in my second year in 2006 a metal fence had to be put about 10 – 15 feet in front of the building facade so no one would be injured by the crumbling concrete. I wish I was joking. The engineering labs were also filled with old equipment, the classrooms were missing technology that is standard in other schools like projectors. Note that this was all before the very generous donation from Mr. Washkewicz so I hope things have improved. The only other complaint I have is that my graduation requirements changed a couple times during my B.S. and I had a VERY difficult time finding out if I was on track for graduation. In fact I wasn't sure that I was going to graduate until I got confirmation about a month before graduation! Even with these complaints I had a great experience at CSU, which is why I went back for my M.S. after briefly considering Ohio State University. It was my professors and department that made the decision easy, they had a great positive effect on my life and I owe a lot to them.Jim

I'm a business student currently in my third year at CSU (transferred from Kent State) and have nothing but good things to say about this school. The campus is beautiful and right in the center of Downtown, giving you easy access to tons of interesting things to do in Cleveland. The general vibe of the campus is very laid back and friendly, and despite what other reviews seem to say, this is a very liberal/progressive and diverse school with many students of all walks of life. I feel I have received a perfectly adequate education at CSU, as someone who cares mainly about getting ready for a career and moving into the business world. There are good professors and bad ones, but the majority of them have been very likeable and knowledgeable. Many of my business professors have lots of real world experience and many years working in their field. I cannot comment on the other departments, but the business school is excellent and has many career services available to students. As a commuter student I love the RTA pass they provide, so I don't have to worry about driving and parking downtown (yes, their parking situation is pretty terrible here). Finally I'd like to say shame on the idiots who are giving my school 1-star reviews because of a faux pas made by the administration. The first amendment comment was misinformed, but it's far from supporting the offensive poster. Anyone trying to paint CSU as anti-LGBTQ because of that poster debacle is ignorant.Steven Barnes

I love Cleveland State. I am a biology pre-med major and the department is great. However, if you live in the dorms, don't plan on getting your mail anytime soon. It takes at least 10 days added on to the normal mail time to receive any type of letter or package. I ended up just getting a P.O. box at a local post office. The education and clubs are great. There are so many great opportunities here to take advantage of. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to live in the city and get a great education.Madison Chapanar

To all the high school freshman posting reviews and rating AMDA 5 stars stop. You do not go there. Do not give it a bigger head than it already has. Attended in 2013-2014 would have been one star if it weren't for some (a few) wonderful teachers. (Stacy Lee, Kathy, Jeff, Tim,and Ray thank you) I am posting this review because they just posted an instagram post about 13 reasons why. They said check this out help is available. Would have been nice if that was ACTUALLY TRUE. However, if you have any sort of mental health problems you are told to grow up! (By teachers AND THE DAMN COUNSELOR) you are told stories of how the show must go on fake it til you make it. If you cannot stop crying you are weak, and theater is just a hobby for you. The teachers name drop and make you feel bad about yourself for not being Jason Derulo.The only person who helped me get help was my acting teacher (god bless him), who sent me to the counselor who told me I was acting like a child and that I need to prioritize. "If this isn't for you you don't have to be here" I told him this is the most depressed I've ever been. No offer to find therapy near me. No weekly meetings. No follow up visit. He suggested I find a new dream. So I did but now I'm 25,000 dollars in debt after 9 of the worst months of my life. Like others have said AMDA is what you make it but if you have any sort of mental health issues don't count on getting any help. PS. The dorms have a large scary roach problem, pretty sure it used to be a mental hospital (how fitting) PPS. I can acknowledge that I learned a good deal in my acting and VPS classes. I joined AMDA NYC back in 2021 Fall. This school has changed my life. Incredible staffing who are all working professionals within the acting world and all are incredibly motivated, fun and inspiring. My time at this school has been nothing but positive thus far and, the school continues to get better and better. I have done my own reading into reviews and the bad reviews have definitely changed. I have seen things change here, I have seen things become progressively better for the students here at AMDA. AMDA has become much more of a supporting and safe environment for not just me but for everybody who needs it. You certainly learn a lot here, develop great connections with your teachers and get plenty of opportunities out here. I myself, am certainly glad that I chose this school. My daughter just graduated in Sept 2017 from NYC in dance. She had a very positive experience from start to finish! Starting with Elliott Kerr, Assistant Director of Admissions. Elliott did a nice job of answering all our questions and helping get all our paperwork completed. Our daughter loved all her teachers and has said through out her program, "this is the right school for me." My daughter is a student, she and other students in her major, Grahpic Design, are having problems. The issue is that the registrar/academic services messed up the audit sheets the students receive when they enroll into their courses for their major. The ProPractice course is actually offered both Fall and Spring semester but because the sheet doesn’t say that, and only says it’s offered in the Spring, all the juniors that are required to take the course sign up in the Spring. This causes more students than there are seats. All because the registrar/academic services made a mistake on the papers. They have classes in a variety of subjects and plenty of equipment. The vending machine food is better than average and they sometimes show movies. You don't have to be enrolled as a full or part time student to take classes. There are some classes available for high school students.Naima Omar

Denison is one of the top schools anyone looking for a liberal arts education could attend. The faculty and staff as well as fellow classmates provide a sense of belonging to anyone and everyone who visits or attends the school. During my four years attending the college on the hill, I made some of the best and most rewarding relationships with classmates, faculty, and staff. I continue to enjoy visiting the campus and love bringing my daughter to show her the great school that I attended. Besides my personal feelings about Denison, they are always doing their best to stay current with the times. This year, Denison has added many new additions to their curriculum. A new major in global commerce, a data analytics major, a concentration in financial economics and a new major in Health, Exercise, and Sport Studies (one that I am jealous they are offering since I graduated with an BA in Athletic Training). In addition to the new majors they have also added a new concentration in Narrative Nonfiction Writing.Amanda Ghiloni

We love Denison, and Grandville, too, such an amazing place, and we're thrilled that our son chose and was chosen by Denison. He's getting a fantastic liberal arts education, participating in very progressive, positive groups, activities, tasks, work, life experiences. The environment there is so forward leaning, led by a fantastic faculty and staff, with an amazing University President at the helm, Mr. Adam Weinberg! They've implemented, enforced, and succeeded with strong and smart COVID policies to give the students and staff as much of the true Denison experience as possible. Update, 8/30/2022: As we move our son back on to campus for his senior year, we're planning to spend more time visiting this wonderfully quaint village. BW provides a well rounded education. With that being said, your program of study will most likely consist of general education courses. BW degree programs usually do not provide a focused study on your major. Instead, the focus is liberal arts. I attended BW for a short time and majored in Criminal Justice. During that time I discovered that most of the classes for my major had little to nothing to do with Criminal Justice. They were mostly liberal arts courses. This is true of many other degree programs. No matter what your major, you will only take a few classes that are actually relevant to your major. In summary, if you enjoy a small campus atmosphere, if you are satisfied with a degree that does not provide a focused study on your major, if you want some prestige on your degree, and if you are willing to spend $900 per credit, then Baldwin Wallace is certainly the place for you.Tracer Films

It's a good school and the campus is really nice. Best thing is probably the professors. I loved 95% of my professors. Worst part of the school is the surrounding area. My daughter went to BW and we couldn't have asked for a better college. You are not just a number, the staff is very helpful and caring. Extremely rude staff and teachers. They wanted me for a teaching job and the day of the interview, the lady had to cancel. They rescheduled and I called their office the following day to make sure they really wanted to do it. The office acted like it was a chore for them when I asked them if the interview was still on. They told me that the interview was cancelled again. This time it was when I was in my car and halfway to the interview site. BTW, during the whole process they tried to hide their name the whole time by saying that they were hiring for a "private school in Parma." Now I know why they tried so hard to be anonymous. Send your kids to a public school, there are many better schools such as Shaker, Mayfield, Orange, Solon. All of those are free and are rated much higher than this horrid school.John Domingo

I left a 5 star rating in 2015 when our oldest was a junior. In 2017, I am back to offer comment that Padua is worth it. The education, support, and college prep training allowed her to earn full tuition to the college of her choice. Our youngest is attending Padua now. We can see him on the same path. Learn from the best. When I was 19 years old, I was accepted to the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. It was the highlight of my life at the time. The great teachers back then were Harv Dean and David Gideon. I went to school here part time for 9 months to learn acting at its very basic. If you can afford going to the school and want to learn acting from the aspect of the instrument, then I highly recommend going here. The most important thing I learned from this school, is that even if you attend the classes and do your scene work, you need to be out pounding the pavement and looking for work in the industry, an agent and possibly a manager. I would not call the school glamorous but it does show great pride and respect for people who walks through their doors. If you are serious about acting and show business, this is the place to be. Although I am old enough to be the GRANDmother of most of the students, I had the honor to chat with Lee Strasberg himself, one morning, years ago. He spent nearly a half hour on the phone with me – a total stranger. I had acting aspirations back then (I am a freelance writer today). And I have never forgotten his generosity, wisdom, and graciousness to me – someone he would never meet in person. I love stopping by whenever I can, to donate theatre books, costume pieces, and just sniff around who's doing what. From the outside Ignatius appears to be a prestigious school, everything about it is well kept and the students and teachers are amazing. So here’s my recommendation for you combine with some of ignatius’ own students and me translating in a more gentle way their opinions . Do not waste your time in the Walton center off the the right of the library unless you want to have time wasted and nothing completed, instead i recommend a school counselor, teacher, or fellow peer. Because in the nicest way possible the Walton center is entirely a waste of resources and funding. One of those things that is gleaming on paper but seriously a waste of god given talent. Mr. Mackey is a great guy who’s talent shouldn’t be used attempting to help students on high school work he doesn’t even understand. I expect so much better from a Name like Saint Ignatius, and i’m sorry it’s been pushed to this point but someone has to speak on behalf of the students, the children.Joseph carlsonne

This place is a joke, almost the entire college yards are torn up and blocked off and caution tape everywhere. They've torn down trees they've uprooted everything on the college some pipes they are putting in for steam heat. It's very hard to walk on the sidewalks. It's very difficult to drive through the town. Most of the stores are not open until noon. I go all the way around the city, it's a few miles out of the way but it takes less time.Joann Drost

The student housing is – deplorable- the cost is astronomical and the service and quality not very good . 60k tuition per year for (mostly) degrees with terrible returns on your investment. If you are an average student, unless you are paying with family money, good luck paying back your student loans. So, I am giving it 5 stars for the performance, not the overall vibe. The actors, and shows, are tremendous and very entertaining. But, why is it necessary to serve alcohol at a youth theater show? Is that really the example we want to send to our kids? Seems a little ridiculous, and kind of disappointing. Also, can we not go an hour without looking at our phones? That's what intermission is for. It's distracting, and more than a handful of people around us whipped out their phones during the performance. The kids work so hard, the least we can do it give them are full attention. Very rude and quite selfish. These were middle age adults that should know better, not kids, by the way. With all that said, The Beck Center rules and is a treasure to the area. My daughter and I have seen probably a dozen shows over the years and enjoyed every one. Highly recommended, and please support our local arts, on every level, so places like this will continue to thrive.M L

Super Saturday was an awesome way to spend the morning! We brought our six-month-old baby to be around other kids and it was packed!! Lots of dancing, instruments to see and hear, art making, and even instruments to play. I cannot wait to go back as she gets older. We went to see Shrek the musical at the Beck Center. Very nice place. About the size of a large movie theater. The show was good, the seats were comfortable. We had a good experience. My only complaint is that there aren't any hand rails on the wall. I have a son with a disability and getting up and down the steps without have rails was difficultMike Jackson

The school is absolutely amazing if your son is very high functioning and loves academics. If your son loves English, debate, math, robotics , or science and needs college level expertise they will bring in professors for those students. This school allows very bright children to stay with their age and social group while getting college level classes. Ive never seen a better designed curriculum and the PhD level professors give 100% to teaching and molding these boys. My son is challenged and valued as a member of the community. HOwever, there are some things one should know before applying here; there is a lot of homework and stress at this high school ( if your child has high executive functioning, likes to study and is very organized it won't be a problem, otherwise they will work with your son to get him where he needs to be) Don't expect it to be a school where parents are welcoming and a place for parents to make friends. . This school is not for the parents–its for the children, which is how it should be! The school is a well run machine; the boys don't have a lot of upheaval or surpises in their day . U.S. is a calm predicatable environment. The one issue we had in the past is that some of the newer professors like to give last minute tests which stresses the boys out. The younger professors don't seem to understand that all the other classes run on a strict syllabus and them adding last mintues tests is ridiculous. They need to stick to a predictable learning environment. .. The older professors seem to lock the younger teachers on eventually and get them in line. Ive noticed the last year some of this nonsense has stopped. Lastly, 70% of the graduates go on to the top schools. Every single year they list where their students go to college. In another post I read they don't go to the top schools and that person is either lying or didn't really go to U.S. Sure some of the kids that are more into the arts than academics go to nice state schools ( there is nothing wrong with that) but many go to Ivy league schools. We have two boys who transferred from public schools to University School several years ago, and couldn't be happier! The faculty/administration state that it is a place where "every boy is known and loved," and really do make every effort to achieve that dynamic. The class sizes are small. Teachers and students eat family-style together every day. Both faculty and boys are divided into "houses" a la Harry Potter for their entire tenure there, and compete all year in fun, athletic, artistic and academic competitions. All of these dynamics and shared experiences contribute to the building of a unique bond between the students and their teachers, and as a result, the boys are so much more engaged in the learning process. Our kids always say that University School is "life changing," and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We love it!Anonymous

I entrusted U.S. with my thenc11 yo son to this "prestigious school" as a straight A student with no history of academic, behavioral, or disciplinary issues. After 2 years of bullying, that he endured because of the quality of the education, he was finally assaulted by 3 boys 2 years older than him on school premises. They were given one day suspension….. As a fighter, my brave boy is slowly coming back after suffering horrible PTSD, but please hear my plea to not subject your sons to the abuse my son sustained. I thought he was safe in these "hallowed walls" and he was not. This school supports bullying, ignores ugliness, and hides the truth. Beware…and take note that the only other negative review on this post is inaccessible, consistent with their policy (and not consistent with their mission statement).Laura Gillespie

Amazing mansion, grounds, gardens and greenhouse. A gem for the city and the state. The staff and tour guide were incredibly helpful, insightful and knowledgeable. You should visit this site often. This will satisfy the fans of architecture and the history buff. This place is literally a time capsule, with over 90% of the contents from the original family. We will visit again. This has our highest recommendation. We would recommend studying the various tour options because you could easily spend all day at the estate. We spent two hours with a tour guide and saw less than half of the rooms! We will also return in the warmer months so we can get more appreciation of the numerous gardens. Keep strolling to find former tennis courts, ponds and a view of the valley below.Brian Mercer

This was our first time at the mansions and gardens. Everyone was very knowledgeable and friendly. We did the self guided tour and it had a nice flow to it. There were plenty of volunteers to interact with and ask questions. We learned a lot and also enjoyed the beauty of the estate and grounds. The butterfly house was a nice surprise towards the end of our tour. They stop selling tickets at 4pm, but don’t close until 5pm. We were there for about 2.5 hours, but could have longer. Visited on

This is a beautiful mansion/castle. I did the self-guided tour. If you want to go up the tower you have to do the Crannies and Cook tour. It took me 2 hours to tour the entire place. The museum is kid friendly. My kids completed a scavenger hunt during the tour and received a free prize at the end (it’s free). You can’t carry in a backpack even it is a purse. There are a lot of antiques so they’ll make you leave your bag somewhere I’m not sure. Visited on

My honest review after taking my 9 year old is to not waste your money. We’ve been to Pittsburgh’s science center several times and it’s much larger and for a similar ticket price. We did not rush through and looked at all the exhibits and activities and made it back to the parking garage within 3 hours. I child did enjoy himself, but I personally feel it wasn’t the best use of money for a day out. There are 3 floors but each floor is rather small. There’s also a nice sized section inside and outside that is reserved for 7 years and younger and that’s the section my 9 year old was most excited for, based on photos we saw before our visit – such a bummer for him. Per usual, the gift shop was over priced so we did not purchase anything. We had a stroller so we had to use the elevator but had to go through the education center to access it. The parking garage is rather expensive at $13 but we received a validation ticket reducing the cost to $9 when we purchased our tickets. If you are concerned about germs or potentially safe air, this is not the place for you. There was a few hand sanitizing units on the wall, a few sinks in the open space, but the one sink I tried didnt work. Our family visited the restrooms often to wash our hands as everyone was constantly touching things (it’s 100% a hands on interactive establishment). I saw there was even a sign in the car building section that said these parts are clean but never saw one person cleaning anything in the 3 hours we were there. I wanted to use the nursing room they offer, and was pleasantly surprised they even offered a quite space for nursing moms, but at some point there must have been a leak in the ceiling of that room because of the bulging ceiling tile when you enter the room and the musty/dirty/old smell in the room. Needless to say, I immediately left the room as I suspect there had to be some mold growth somewhere. When I left, I saw two men working on the bathroom across the hall and saw some gross black stuff all over the bathroom wall and that grossed me out even more and convinced me it was time to leave. Me and my family had a blast there. I was surprised to see so many visiting people without masks. A bit disappointing really. The staff walking by were friendly and helpful. Lost my daughter's Elsa and Ana dolls in the music area though … went back and they were gone. She's still asking where they are! Visited on

I visited this museum with my husband and children sponsored by a school field trip. I recommend that you visit, there is a lot of learning, fun and discovery in this museum. It is an amazing and wonderful experience! Each corridor and level is full of adventure and teaches to discover. Don't wait for them to tell you, go to the museum and enjoy it… Visited on

This was a planned event with several members from my church. The theater is somewhat old but it was clean. The theater staff and cast members in the play were professional and courteous. The Cast members came out greeted, took pictures and held conversations with the audience. I took several pictures with them. We enjoyed every second of the event.denise joyner

Last year at Christmas, my entire family, including 3 little grand kids went to the Christmas show. It was very well organized and so much fun. The performers were entertaining and funny. They engaged the entire audience with sing alongs. At the end of the show, the kids got to go onstage and get a photo with Santa. After that, we were treated to cake and juice. Before covid closure, saw Young Frankstein (or is it Frankensteen?) which I did not know was a musical after seeing Gene Wilder's finest film. It was even better this way, if that's possible. I really enjoyed the musical “The Bat Boy” they put on. It was a first for being there and We got stage side tickets. I will say they were great seats but for this performance we were looking at a lot of back ends. Next time, and there will be a next time, we’ll get tickets for more the front of the stage. The place is old but well kept up. I really like the history of it. The actors/singers did a really great job of this musical which before these tickets I had never known or heard about. I personally experienced a few productions through the years. But…. I took my grandson to his first theater experience at Casa Manana when he was 18 months old to see The Three Little Pigs. We have had season tickets several years since. COVID threw a wrench in it but we have atttended at least a couple plays a year since. My grandson is now 9 and attended his first theater camp. My family and I ended our first production here and we were so impressed. From the cleanliness of the theater, to the kindness of the staff, the entire experience was spot on. Moving to Ft. Just attended a packed theater for the play " Flowers for Phyllis " … the lead ( Kenyatta Hardisson ) was outstanding … the management staff and volunteers of the Arena Theater have done an excellent job of maintaining history in the heart of Baltimore … if you can and however you can … support the oldest continously operating Black Theater in the country … if we don't it will not be done !Howard Roberts

I was at this venue assisting with a outreach project hosted by local celeb Ms. Maybelle and Teeshirt Brian. It was a great event. The venue has parking all around. It's close to one of the more urban areas of Baltimore so you should be more watchful especially in the evening however I've never had an issue. I can't believe living in Baltimore all my life, this was my very 1st. time attending a play here. The staff was so warm & friendly. If I could give this place a Zero star I would. Arrived here for Grease for opening night for tickets we bought the day they went on sale. My friend and I had seats A 19 and 20 where the male usher confirmed we were in the correct seats. After, this mean rude, blonde, fat worker bullied us into moving seats and said we were in the wrong seats, which indeed we were not. This was my first and last time here. I will gladly drive to Cleveland in order not to be treated poorly and rudely, and to sit in the seats in which I paid for. Worst experience at a playhouse ever.Jenni Marie

The performers are excellent and extremely talented! The seats need to be replaced. They are cushioned, but they are so old that a hard chair would probably be more comfortable. My family and I went to see Wicked. It was almost like listening to the sound track, they were so good. You could tell it was lower budget, but still made for a fantastic night!Jennifer

This is the oldest local live theater company in the US and they are my personal favorite, my grandparents took me as a young man and I've continued to go regularly with my grandmother since grandpa passed. It's truly a local gem and should be experienced by everyone in the local Youngstown area.Evan Brothers
