Had a wonderful time! Excellent production for a community theatre. I saw Night of the Living Dead, and the SPECIALFX were great! So much fun for a night out… only problem was that parking was hard to find, as there were no instructions after purchasing tickets online, nor was there any helpful signage. Nevertheless, we called the theatre and were cheerfully given simple and accurate directions to their parking lot.There were also no ushers the night we went, and the concessions were quite pricey, $2for a bag of economy popcorn, and the stand workers seemed very rushed and stressed. However I will definitely be a returning patron, and recommend this theatre for a fun outing…Sierra “Zola” Christian

Went to see Blithe Spirit and loved it! Every cast member was fabulous and kept me laughing nonstop throughout the show's entire runtime! The set was for the show was also great and I loved the effects towards the end when the pictures on the wall started moving. A beautiful old-fashioned theater that was restored and refurbished with its ornately designed interior. The exterior is the familiar clock tower with "Fox" theater on the front. It's a historic landmark, the design is an architectural signature that's fairly uncommon now. Glad to see that it's been repaired and restored to its former beauty and stature. The main auditorium isn't large, but it's more than enough for current performances and shows.Charlotte C.

Love coming here. Saw Clint Black for my second time. What a great show. He jammed on the guitar and was engaging and funny. His wife and daughter were also here and they sang beautifully as well. A great concert from Jeremy Camp on a stage that seemed too small but they made it work to appear to be much larger than it actually is. We attended a wedding reception for my son Michael and Mayra wedding night. Outstanding facility for wedding reception. The decor is wonderful, friendly staff, beautiful building, modern clean restrooms, nice bar area, very good dinner. We had over a hundred guests, zero complaints. On this visit we were blessed with the music of Mandy Harvey. A beautiful night of music from both of the artist. We love the casualness of being there and making new friends and of course seeing old ones. It's always a good time. And if you haven't seen it you should definitely check it out. This is a really cool place to see a concert. Kyle Carter did an incredible job renovating this place and turning it into an outstanding venue and recording studio. If you live in Bakersfield you have no excuse for not checking this place out. This place is a throw back. I recently went to Chuck E Cheese and they don't do physical tickets anymore! Hide N Seek still has tickets and tokens which are way more fun for my little ones. Well, me too. There's nothing more exciting than watching a machine spit out a hundred tickets! The play area is great and huge. The place looks small but has multiple levels. The kids on the playground side are younger so I feel comfortable with my three-year-olds being there. Parents are allowed in with the kids which is nice if you like to helicopter.Christina Blouir

So I've been here twice once about a year ago and refused to come back cause the experience was awful rude employees and not a lot of fun. However this time was great the employee named Tanner was there by himself and still went out of his way to make our experience great from letting us climb the rock wall to helping my 2 year old play on the trampolines. My daughters both had their birthday parties at hid and seek. I loved the fact that it's child oriented, they put it together wirh children in mind. It's everything a kid wants to do or see is there, it's all fun and games all day long. The staff really are kid friendly, they observe and watch our kids even if they dome how slip away from you and believe me kids find away to slip away. Well where do I begin?! I'll start by saying you better have VERY deep pockets if you want to have your child compete with American Kids?! We didn't have any plans to have our son compete but when he started he progressed pretty quickly?! Of course, me being naive thought my son was excelling but we quickly realized it was a money pit! When we were asked the 1st time to move up to a team lvl "Rockets" we weren't told about the Jump program at all?! I had to go and ask what the additional charges were about? I figured the monthly would go up (oh and boy did it $200+) but there's also something called Jump that I was told was $10 a month and then I would have to fund raise to cover costs for competitions etc. (even though lvl 3 Rockets do not compete) I was told they start parents in Jump even though lvl 3 Rockets don't compete to get parents used to Jump and fund raising?! So I bought the mandatory uniform and water bottle and we moved up. My son LOVED it and the coach Demetri is FANTASTIC…honestly, EVERYONE is nice… it's not a bad place! I'm just frustrated with the lack of communication?! We are NOT a rich family and we have to plan our bills because we live paycheck to paycheck! So when we were asked if my son was ready to move up again I immediately went to the front desk and asked about the cost (twice)?! I was told it was going to be $395 a month and NO mention of an increase in Jump fees? I swallowed hard and went home to BEG my husband…he finally agreed and we went to 1 class before I got a credit card charge for an additional $175 for JUMP?! I was in shock? I again went straight to the front desk where I was directed to talk to Sheryl?! She said the same thing she said the 1st time I confronted her about Jump "nobody told you"? I explained I was NOT told that JUMP went from $10 a month to $175?! So that means to have my son in lvl 4 boys team it's $570 a month plus???? I understand it costs money to have a child in gymnastics but it's important to let the payee know what $$$$ they will be expected to pay monthly?! We are NOT a family that has bottomless pockets?! That's why I specifically asked what the cost would be in advance?! I still don't understand why it goes from $10 to $175 but I'll never know because we had to walk away! My son cried the whole way home and then he cried himself to sleep?! I feel like a horrible mom but we just can't afford it and if I knew the total in advance I would have NEVER moved forward?! Again… coach Demetri is AMAZING…all the staff was wonderful! I hope that this review will help those that are unaware of how it works so you don't find out the hard way like we did?! The amount of fees and payments that is necessary for my child to join any program here is absolutely ridiculous. The fees are never ending they will charge you for absolutely everything. Whatever program and price they're offering, always add another $300-400 on top of that. Parents going into credit card debt just so their child can be a part of something, it's sad they need to drop some of the fees that they charge. $60 just to try out for a cheer team, monthly tuition, $50 just to register your child to compete, separate fees for the uniform and shoes, "sponsorship obligation" of $200, it's just never ending. Fees fees and more FEES!! All the money they're making off these kids they should at least provide a decent venue for when they perform here in town and not parents sitting on the floor at their Southwest location!P W

Wonderful establishment to say the least. I grew up in this gym when it was American Acadamy of Gymnastics and I am proud to send my children here now. Mike and Sherri Williams are wonderful and their staff are top notch! They offer SO MANY great classes and many other services besides Gymnastics, swim, dance & ninja. You're children will get a 5 star experience and learn so much more than expected. I am so glad Bakersfield has this amazing establishment so we can build strong and healthy kiddos!Dianna King

This community theater may be small, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in talented actors, a dedicated crew, and a fabulous director. I just saw Shakespeare's "As You Like It" there, and I was amazed by how well it was performed. Watched performance of Shakespeare's Two Gentlemen of Verona. Loved the modern updated version with everyday clothes and vintage backdrops like the Coca Cola sign. This rating is mainly for the meal, not the show. The food is pretty average, some of the dishes are really nothing to write home about. If you are looking for a gourmet meal, this is not the place, but as an experience to have dinner before a live show, it's good. Natalie is a well experienced piano and vocal instructor that has the utmost patience to teach beginners. I was an adult beginner that knew nothing of music. She does an awesome job in explaining the material. Additionally, she provides honest feedback, by pointing out students strengths and weaknesses. I would like to share that the main gate entrance is on south union on the northbound lane. And there are no other gate entrances. Not even on Welch Avenue. My Google maps gps turn by turn directions gave me instructions to turn right on Welch. Just to find out that there is no entrances on Welch or on the backside or on the next following block. So I can only make a u turn on Welch so I can turn right on union then make another right to the main entrance of the preschool. without making a u turn on Welch having to go around only be able to turn right on union then make another uturn to go southbound on union to make another u turn to go northbound on union to be able to turn right into the preschool. Thanks google maps for the terrible guidance. After checking my settings i confirmed that I did have it set to avoid toll booths and such. Went for a school assignment to do observation on the children, the director and owner very pleasant and easy to talk to, I started taking my child here after I noticed how caring and polite the staff is, and the toys are just one advantage for my child's motor skills and learning. To whom this may concern , I’m honestly disappointed with the instruction and materials provided by HDMC. A lot goes on campus and not much is done by administration. Each student in the UT program invest a big amount of money to this school yet we don’t have the sufficient equipment to practice our hands on training. To start off instructors teach a module they’re not specialized in and teach it when they have no clue what they’re instructing us when it comes to the hands on training. Our ultrasound machines are very out dated , old and broken. Ut is the the biggest program at this school yet theres more Ut students then ultrasound machines to scan on . Certain instructor has very poor work ethic always talking bad about her students to the other instructor when other students can hear her. As a student I don’t feel comfortable to approach my instructor if help is needed when she talks bad about us among other instructors. Another unethical habit certain instructor does is put her students on the spot with personal information when it was told to her confidential.From the looks of it HDMC overall has been focused on expanding by opening more campuses. When they’re losing main focusing on providing proper instructors to teach material, have proper maintenance done on campus and having enough equipments for the number of students.Lizzerte Maldonado

It amazes me how many complaints I am reading. My boyfriend attended this school. I saw a lot of students who didn't put ANY effort into their work let alone apply themselves. Most of the students in that place complained about EVERYTHING, or didn't show up. There were more failures than graduates. High Desert MAKES you do the work and cuts people no slack. If they're treating you like a child, it is probably because you're acting like one. This is college, not high school. My boyfriend graduated with a 98%, High Desert treated my boyfriend like a KING. The student loan process was easier than getting a car loan. My boyfriend plans on going back to further himself in the medical field. I wouldn't want him going anywhere else. The teachers and staff really care about their students and make sure no one is left out of the loop. They assisted my boyfriend in landing a job and an awesome internship.Laura Apodaca

Don’t waste your time or money in this school. The staff are very unprofessional. they are more concern on what you are wearing, instead of actually educationing the students. the ultrasound program is the largest and the most expensive, yet the machines they trained on don’t work or outdated. The instructors never last because the school sucks! And they have these meeting every so often and they have you sitting on floor while the director who is annoying as hell with her “Woo hoo”, speaks and they give out these awards for showing up to class everyday. I thought it was a “college” not 3rd grade. If you are going to spend 37,000$ on this school, you might as well buy a car with the money and get the hell out of BakersfieldGeorge Foreal

This school could use some updates. I applied to one of the graduate programs. I received an email indicating to fill out a printed version of the application to the program. Everything has to be printed on paper. I also had to make an order money check to pay for the application and other payments. I believe there should be options do to it online. I had to pay overnight shipping for I did not what my private information to be lost. There was a worker that has helped me a lot of the questions, but still made me uneasy about the program. I did not receive any notification when my application was received. The only way I knew it was received was because a worker called me to ask me a few questions about my application. Months went by. I called April and admissions did not know anything about my status on my application. I had to call someone in the program. (Same worker that was helping me). She said by mid April the school should know who they are accepting. Mid April pass now it is towards the end of May. I still have not received anything from the school. I called to ask again and the same worker told me end of May. There are only four days left for the end of May. Fall semester usually starts in August. No notification at all from the school. No rejection notification, nor waitlisted, nor acceptance. A friend even jokingly said “Does this school even exist?”. So disappointing. I cannot even plan my education without knowing if I got accepted or not. Maybe I should have applied to other schools.nvstar

Amazing experience. CSU Bakersfield doing Covid vaccines for anyone that wants one. All thats needed is photo ID. Very professional, very friendly, and very quick staff. The entire time from parking in the abundant parking spaces to walking to the facility, waiting in line, getting the show, waiting the 15 minutes, and leaving was less than an hour. Thank you to everyone the set up, ran, and administered the vaccines. Your staff are the real heros. The participants even were on point by following the guidelines to make the experience enjoyable.Kevin Butler

This is a good college, with many great professors, especially in the psychology department. This area has far fewer people, so it's easier to go to school here than some of the other more crowded universities down below. It's not a great place to live, not so much because it's a bad town, but because of the air-quality. But you're much more likely to pay lower rent, and find it easier to go to college here, if you're considering going to a CSU. I'm grateful for my time there.Brian Dillard

I went here off an on for a.few years however I moved out of state for 2 yrs when I returned I went on to order transcripts and saw I had a bill In further review I saw there were classes added to my acct but the format they use now canvas and such isnt something I've used. It's been years since I've taken classes. Well the classes were never dropped and never paid for but they are charging me for them. Classes that are way off of anything I've ever taken. Well no one will help me they keep saying I added them etc etc. Rediculous. I was a pre nursing major and the classes are like wildlife law stuff. Idek what to do. I've heard that it's a good place to start at, that's it. Trying to get ahold of ANYONE in charge there is a lost cause. Trying to report baseballs hitting our cars in the neighborhood from their baseball practice, reporting student cars parked in front of my driveway, and now trying to get anything done about the excessively loud music played while their baseball practice is going on….no one responds. The neighbors and I can hear the music from six houses down across the street….and from inside our homes!!! Inconsiderate college. They have courses listed for students to sign up only for them to get cancelled shortly after. They claim "low enrollment" but the classes that are available are filled to capacity. There are 100 students in one of classes with no online option! They do not care of the risk COVID. Professors don't even answer their emails when you ask them about available classes they are teaching. Go to CSUB and stop wasting your time with these chumps!M C

Me and my best friend, Sahil Sidhu, gained a lot through this school. When we started, I was a level 3 mage knight in Dragon Realm and Sahil was a level 4 elven warrior. By the time we graduated, through many battles against the hobgoblin tribes of the crystal caves, I am now a level 48 mage knight with full enchanted armor and fire bow, and Sahil is level 39 elven warrior, and he now leads a clan of battle dwarves. READ THE WHOLE REVIEW IT'S WORTH IT I'M TELLING YOU I moved here 2 years ago and never expected to like this school, but I was wrong. We have an open campus so that juniors and seniors can go to nearby restaurants during lunch. Plus there is a HUGE, diverse student body – about 3000 students. Fun fact: that's nearly enough man (and woman) power to run a Nimitz class aircraft carrier. BHS used to be a college, and before that, a hospital. The stadium and auditorium? Definitely haunted. BHS students were drafted into WWI And WWII. Hopefully not WWIII. We don't wanna go to war with Russia, right? We even have a graduate that went to North Korea hoping for a "better life" and got international media attention, as well as 6 years of hard labor. No kidding, it's real. Look him up – Matthew Miller. He has a Wikipedia. We have great teams in most sports, but I'm not really a sports player. The Acadec team was always #1 in the county, but not anymore. The Virtual Business team is #1 in the COUNTRY, but that's because virtual business is a college prep class (in other words, not for AP and Honors students) and the people who are in virtual business are (surprisingly) AP and Honors students. The food is alright. Never really ate lunch here, but they give free food to students after school. And it's not just some cheap pretzels you can get on a 2 hour Delta flight from Los Angeles to San Diego. They give us chicken burgers and little pizzas. If you're into ROTC: It's pretty cool and tight knit. We have guest speakers from all branches, uniform days on Wednesdays, and PT on Thursdays. I'm gonna say this though: PT doesn't stand for physical training here… it stands for playtime. Forreal. We play games that you would expect to find in an elementary school recess. Now onto the artsy stuff: It's pretty great. Our drama productions are good. Our art classes learn a lot (except Photography, my brother says otherwise). We have a great marching band and fantastic choir (going to Carnegie Hall in NYC this year). Our orchestra is one of the best in the county I'd say. I was a violin last year and it was alright, but there's one downside to it: it starts before school. 0 period. Speaking of 0 period, we have a bunch of classes that start before 1st period. Calculus BC, PE… yeah that's pretty much it. I was kidding when I said "a bunch of classes" Despite having no walls and gates in some parts, we have real tight security here. Just kidding. We have ONE police officer. We have a couple of unarmed security guards though, and they love to drive around in those little golf carts. I'm kinda annoyed that they could use those. Students can't use bikes and scooters but they could use GOLF CARTS?! Quick story: I was almost hit by one of them. Reckless drivers. Smh. As a result of this semi-poor defense system, there are some little problems that happen on campus. Sometimes there are kids that smoke weed in the bathrooms, and there are fist fights here and there. But these aren't even the worst problems. If BHS were twitter, and pulling the fire alarm was a hashtag, it would be #1 on trending. There always happens to be some dumb kids sneaking out of class and pulling fire alarms, often multiple times a day. You can't have a fire alarm and expect it to be the only one. They come in bundles. They even decide to pull it at the worst times. I had a lab in chemistry and the fire alarm was pulled. They pulled it so often that our dean (who is one of the nicest blokes ever) said on the loudspeaker: "Whoever is pulling the fire alarm, you guys are idiots" Or something along these lines. Once there was a kid that wasn't even from BHS and came on campus just to pull the fire alarm… it seems like we have started a new tradition, along with our water tower one. The sad thing is that when the trash cans and bathrooms were lit on fire, nobody pulled the alarm. I don't even think we have fire drills anymore. I'm running out of space. I live hours away from this school, and I am expected to enroll at this school. I've just graduated from Tevis Jr.High today, 6/1/17, and I have recieved a response from the district that my transfer to Stockdale has been declined. Sadly, I don't want to go to a school that is about an hour away. Not only do I live five minutes away from my desired school, but the fact that 3 of my transfer requests were declined doesn't help. My parents talked to the district personally, and they seemed to understand, however today, my father has recieved a phonecall regarding our request, and the district has informed that our response has been rejected. Yes, the school has buses, but first of all, the buses are super slow and waste my time. I'm going to be in GATE classes next year, and riding in a bus for two hours is just a complete waste of my time. I already have loads of homework to do now. The thoughts of this are stressful and depressing. Second, I have no expierence with buses, and I'm foreign to the stops. Not only do the stops worry me, but the slowness of the bus does to. Although riding in a bus might seem convinent, walking is faster. Sorry BHS, nothing against you, in fact my own father graduated from BHS, however, It seems like a complete misspend to me to have to use a bus to a highschool hours away, when I could easily walk to a preferable school, convieniently 5 minutes away. Both of my boys went to BHS.And I know that is the best school in Bakersfield. They both played football and they weren't sitting on the bench. The first year Goalla was there my youngest son was a senior and they won valley. I am sorry about his last name, I am not sure how it is spelled. My beautiful daughter is going to BHS now and she loves it. They have produced some of the best athletes to have come out of Bakersfield. Pretty great school, awesome teachers and no, no one has gotten shot. The school is not "ghetto". The career center and the library are the best places to be. The only thing I am not fond of is the animal gate that comes down before lunch. The hallways are suppose to be open so students can study in classrooms and use computers for research, how are we suppose to get smarter if the learning facilities are closed down when we have a break from class? Smaller venue than I expected but it has an intimate feel when you see a band perform. The reason for my low rating is because of the organization of the venue. They were very good with security, making sure everyone was safe. But the space to buy merchandise, food, and scan tickets was very small and tight. Was here for condors game, is a nice place to watch some hockey. Good selection of food and beer. Nice merchandise booth. Staff was all very friendly. Only complaint would be that the seats are a little on the small side, im a big person, 6 '3 and 330 pounds, not much leg room and the seat was a tight fit. Other than that was a great time.Jeff Allen
