I plan on transferring here to finish my MBA and so far the institute has been awesome, very helpful and informative. One of a few schools if you meet undergrad GPA requirements (3.4+) for their program you can skip the GMAT and gain entry into their program. Extremely fair cost of attendance @ roughly $570 per credit hour. Look forward to continuing this relationship! Oh and @ Nicole Marriott are you really leaving a poor review because you signed up for college and agreed to pay for it and are being held accountable for your debt? Seriously? If you sign up at any institute, private or public, once you sign the paper you are held accountable for the debt you enter. What is wrong with people these days? The professors are amazing. You really have a feeling that they want you to succeed. Once you graduate they really just drop you. I tried working with career services and they only met once then dropped you. Really disappointed in the behavior of no longer a check coming in we no longer care. I have an amazing work history with several degrees but this new degree is transferring over to something new. So I really wanted help in the job search and advice in moving into something different. I wonder what their actual job placement percentage is. I am just so disappointed because it really could be a great school and the professors really have a passion for teaching.Natalie Roe

I attended night classes to try and finish my degree as an adult. I am told that classes during the day are very different. My experience was incredibly frustrating. The professor of my computer class struggled to log in to her computer and often asked me to help answer questions for the class. I took a speech class and the professor did not grade students on an even scale. The highest grade in the class was the student that wrote her entire speech and then read it without ever looking up. That is only a couple. Almost every in seat class was poorly taught.Shanleyhan

I would not recommend this school. There wasn’t any heat in our classrooms the entire winter. Students had to bring their own heaters and we only could plug up 2 with out blowing out the circuit. (They also have a heating and cooling program ) There still isn’t any soap in the cafeteria. Some one put water in an old soap dispenser, and over 100 students share that. The ST (Surgical technician) instructor is rude and unprofessional. I have documents, videos and dates of her yelling at me, cursing, threatening me and no one did anything to her. Actually, when I tried to report her, it actually got worse. I’m not the only one from this school…. or other schools who said the same exact thing. The man from financial aide will call, email and text you several times a day when you have to make a payment. The reviews are fake/ from employees themselves. Abcott Institute is a great place to help you with a career in the medical field. Abcott also have other areas to advance your career. The instructors are Helpful and encouraging. The Surgical Tech. Program with Mrs.Miller is great, she a firm and knowledgeable instructor. Working in the medical field especially the OR is no game, you are dealing with people lives!! The course is tough, at one point I wasn't so sure if I could finish. I talk to my instructor, made sure I studied more and did what I had to do to improve myself. Just focus and get what you need to get out of there. It’s a lot of foolery going in this school program not accredited and make sure when you pay for you certification test and pass get your money back because they will not mention it if you don’t and it’s included in your tuition. My experience is only with this campus specifically. I've been trying to sign up for classes at OCC for almost 2 years now. The first year I had some personal issues which is not their fault. However since then I've been trying and every time i call the counseling department the staff is extremely rude. Once a lady asked me several times over the phone if i was a new student. I said yes and told her i had already taken the steps leading up to this and my next step was to meet with a councilor. she completely dismissed what i had said and told me to apply. I again told her I had already done so. She then proceeded to tell me that i would have to utilize walk in appointments because they were completely booked up. Which is okay but she made me feel stupid for even trying to make an appointment. its hard to convey how rude she sounded over the phone. it was super unprofessional. I've also been hung up on before by the counseling office. Other than the counseling office, placement testing and applying was easy and the facilities are very clean.Ashley Reed

Financial Aid Office is ineffective. They do not communicate in an acceptable and timely manner – it takes them two weeks to reply to an email and their reply was grossly incomplete. They will not afford you any critical information that could save headaches in the future. They have poor patience over the phone and they pass blame unto others. Oakland CC administration took weeks to post my grade that was requested of my Economics professor three times and myself once which was a time sensitive issue to have complete transcripts sent to another college. It was stressful and infuriating. Even the professor said these individuals in charge were incompetent. Wow! Oakland CC certainly does not appear to be devoted to one’s education or success. Hate to give such a negative review for such an affordable school but the staff here really need to step their game up. I've worked for a university and know how students should be treated – prospective and enrolled alike. It is such a hassle trying to enroll here if you're not in person. Staff will throw you all over the place from office to office for games of phone tag and may not even answer or call you back. My boyfriend, a veteran, initiated the process to get enrolled beginning at the end of last year, inquired for help several times, and still has not been able to enroll in classes. There was an office we called asking for help and we were met with condescending instructions and transferred to another office without warning, with which we were met with a voicemail and never received a call back. Two of the best professors I have ever encountered were at OCC. Physics and Art. Their ability to connect with the students, their knowledge base, and their positive teaching takes serious dedication and passion for a field that doesn’t pay much. There are online ways to check out teacher reviews. Do your homework and sign up right when classes open to grab the amazing ones! Every school has a range. I’ve had more than a decade of higher level education, and the personal attention you get in small class sizes, high end transfer rate to other Michigan schools, and tuition cost cannot be beat. OCC will screw you, PUT u through hell. THEY DON'T CARE DID IT TO ME After 3 years @ OCC. with 9 credits left for DEGREE I got screwed. i was accepted for student loan & financial aid but denied by OCC!!! Professors are 3rd rate, while they may know their material, they have a hard time conveying it to students.I have taken courses at a university and the teaching here is non existent. They basically expect you to teach yourself through the textbook with little in class instruction. You are treated as a18 year old student no matter what age you are, there is no sense of customer satisfaction. I brought this issue up to the Dean and chancellor and got canned responses. Fantastic music and theatre program that I aid with. It's also a pretty campus. Every time I go to the Take 5 Lounge, there's always a group or two of people who are making a ruckus. I know it's a difficult slope to tackle, I don't think it's appropriate hearing the n-word in normal dialogue while I'm trying to eat, and I say that as a black man. It's not just those groups though. Groups singing some musical or someone talking loudly on their phone is annoying to hear.Ramone W

I feel that I received an excellent education. The tuition is high, it's more than UofM Ann Arbor. However, you are getting excellent Professor's in smaller classrooms, which I really thought was beneficial for me. I like knowing nearly everyone in my cohort. Half of the professors here are either biased, unreasonable, rude, or all of the above. I'm not sure what I expected from a community college, but hey, I guess they all have their fair share of pretentious liberal arts idiots. I've been an all A student my whole life as well, but some of these classes are next to impossible to pass. This does not apply as much to the hard science classes (which are often times either fine, or just have poor formatting), but more so in random requirement courses (such as humanities, visual media, etc.) With those classes, it is more important to be able to understand how to use course related words in a piece that relates to the opinion of the professor, than to actually use course concepts in a way that makes sense for the assignment. Otherwise, the campus is beautiful. Each building is well organized and kept up, with new additional being added all of the time. The study rooms in L and F building especially provide a great place to work on projects and hang out with friends. Overall, the campus is great, meanwhile the classes themselves are essentially a coin toss on whether you get a great professor/class, or a terrible one.Random

I was granted an extension to complete an online class for Fall 2020. My access to Canvas, which is the program used to facilitate online learning, was turned off the day after the end of the semester and I have yet to receive access to finish my class. As it stands, the automated system has assigned me a failing grade for this class. It is the last class I need to complete my Associate's degree, and the last class I need to complete my Michigan Transfer Agreement before I apply to university. My extension was granted on December 21, and I am supposed to have until January 17 to finish my work, but I am at a loss for what I can do now to fix this, because the school and the Canvas support team are both telling me the teacher needs to fix this, but the teacher is, as far as I can tell based on the information from Canvas support, being less than truthful and far from helpful to get me going in the right direction. I'll provide a better review if my situation gets resolved. If this helps, the teacher is an adjunct instructor. I would recommend taking classes from non-contractual, non-part time instructors.Vicki R

As a graduate of this school in the 2010's, I must say that any body that attends here will never regret it. Everything from the atmosphere on campus to the actual instructors, it is a really wonderful place to attend. I ended up meeting a lot of cool people here, a lot that I talk to a lot. My favorite instructors were Donna Parkhurst, Rob Richardson, William Pilkey, and last but certainly not least Michelle German. I could easily write a 10 page paper on this place, so I'll just leave it at this: one of my favorite life experiences sprouted from this place. For the most part, SC4 is a decent school. However, I have not even finished my first semester here, and I have ran into many problems with the Michigan Transfer Agreement courses. My English course that I am taking is required for the transfer, and the teacher does not do anything. She does not teach anything, she does not grade anything, and it seems that she is a habitual liar. I am wasting my money on a school that does not do anything for their students. If you end up going here, do not go for the Michigan Transfer Agreement, because it is a waste of time and money.Caleb Redman

Definitely the best venue! Wonderful 40th Anniversary concert with Jessica Vosk of the Broadway Hit Wicked! If you haven’t seen a show at Wharton, you’ve got to experience it. Great acoustics. Friendly staff and volunteers. And performances that will leave you awestruck. They also have a great gift shop that will have you rolling! Always a beautiful place to go for a walk or run! Grounds are kept up well and lots of space to enjoy with nature to see. As an employee of this site for two years who interacts daily with our students, I love coming to work here every day. It’s separate from Marian University’s main campus and is in a building right by the Pyramids. Last year, we moved up a floor to the fourth floor into a freshly renovated space and it has been great to see our students learn here. It has two classrooms, two simulation labs, enhanced debriefing rooms, two exam rooms, a dedicated student break room, and a locker area. The new labs have state-of-the-art clinical equipment, hospital beds, and medical manikins — a great, safe, and realistic environment for students to practice interacting with live patients in the real world and gain confidence heading into clinicals. Overall, we couldn’t ask for a better place for our students to come for labs, take exams, and connect with their fellow nursing students and instructors.Trinity Firth

I'm enrolled in a Master's program of Architecture at UDM. The curriculum exactly fits my needs and considers all my previous education. Staff and students here are more like a family, that creates friendly environment especially for new students. Studios here are mixed of theoretical and practical approaches, which expands my experiences in both ways. The school shop has all kind of machines that help in doing models. The school has good ranking and reputation in the area. The dean is such a great person, also he is AIA Michigan president of year 2017. Since I got here, I have learned a lot and my skills increase especially in design and using computer softwares. The professors here are really nice and so helpful, they always have their doors opened for any questions or if you're seeking advise. I have been in contact with U of M when I was applying for a Master's program, I found them careless, kinda lost and unorganized, unlike UDM School of Architecture, they know exactly what're they doing and care about each single student in the school. School here gives students good chance to meet with professionals and big companies to help get them a co-op or and intern position once the student graduate.George Morkos

I do not recommend their clinical psychology masters program. The feedback from professors to students about being too “cheeky”, or “share more opinions” has nothing to do with the ability to practice clinically. The suggestion to share more thoughts/opinions in class if you want a letter of recommendation would not have gotten me a letter of recommendation! Apparently it was relevant if the professors liked you and your sense of humor rather than ones ability to provide therapy and conduct assessment. Overpriced for the value. There are plenty of places to get a degree from. I’ve found little from this program to be useful in clinical practice. The training I received following graduation was much more relevant to my practice than theories, having the DSM read in class, and learning to administer projective assessments. The level of diversity was appalling. The most diverse individual I can recall was a middle aged white male pursuing a second career. As a first time parent sending a child off to school I feel overwhelmed with the enrollment process. The staff is not very helpful. The first time we went in to meet with someone, no one would sit down with us and we were sent away with a checklist paper as our form of help. I could have printed the checklist out from home! I wouldn’t have taken time off work to go there. The checklist was helpful but not what we needed. There was trouble submitting our FAFSA and it took longer than we wanted to fix it, causing us to register for classes later than we ever planned to. The advising office recording prompts tell you they are open until 5pm and it’s drop-in only and you could “drop in over the phone”. You can’t make an appt. For some reason, they wouldn’t let me call on behalf of my 17 year old son so he called when he got out of work at 3:30 and they refused to help him. They closed in 1.5 hours and it was “too late.” They told him to call back between 8am-9am if he wanted to get help. So why does the recording say you can’t make appts and they are available until 5 for drop-ins? When in actuality you only have a 1 hour window to call each day! I felt like he must have misunderstood so I called them back and the woman snapped at me for calling and pointed at the fact that we were registering late. Then when I explained to her why this was nearly impossible for us, she made the exception that she would let him call as late as 12pm. He started getting nervous so he took an early lunch at work to make the call this morning and then they told him he would have to take time off work and finish registering in person (again conflicting with all other info we’ve seen). So I made another call to ask questions about this and they told me we could register online, but it was clear the woman on the phone was frustrated with me for having questions and taking her time. Nearly makes me want to throw in the towel and start at another school. We are intelligent people. The process shouldn’t be this hard. Maybe don’t work in admissions if you don’t want to help kids and their parents. Don’t expect parents to not be involved when enrolling their 17 year old kid for school! Have to do it that way? Fine. But expect me to have questions when my kid can’t relay every bit of information you told him in your conversation.Kelly Neal

There was a teacher that made discriminatory comments to my girlfriend over Blackboard while trying to fix an issue. After submitting an SC aware and receiving an initial response, we have heard nothing back from the administration. Very disappointing from not only a student’s perspective, but a former PAL and tutor who has worked closely with professors from this college in the past. These guys are very good at teaching people who never road a motorcycle to becoming a good rider and safe rider. When I took my class there I thought that there is no way some of my fellow classmates would learn how to ride ,let alone pass the class and by the end of the class they're pwas riding like they were doing it there whole life. Based on my short experience with LTU, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time applying for this school. I was looking for an online Master's program and came across LTU via one of my co-workers. After contacting LTU and describing to them what I was looking for, I was quickly contacted by their admissions center. I'll be honest, at this point everything seemed to be going quite well; I had a few pleasant conversations with my counselor, all information that I had asked for was quickly given, and the application process was very well explained and went smoothly. After that, is where things started going downhill for LTU. I was finally contacted by my counselor and told that I will not be accepted to the Master's program that I had applied for due to new "requirements." Now, I understand that I have been out of school for awhile at this point and things change, but LTU couldn't even explain what requirements I did not meet. All they told me is that I would be receiving a package explaining everything. Well guess what, I never actually received anything from them explaining the decision. Trying to gather more information as to why I wasn't accepted, as I was preparing to apply to other programs, I again tried contacting LTU and my counselor. After numerous attempts of trying to get a hold of someone, I never did receive a simple response either by email or by phone call. I cannot recommend a institution that does not make any kind of effort to keep applicants informed on decisions made, whether accepted or rejected. They are clearly just worried about making money and trying to boost their own rankings. They could honestly care less about potential students in my opinion unless its going to benefit them in some way. So disappointing.Sean Gage

After getting a Degree in their Computer Science, Software Development, Web Development Program and being actively a part of Phi Kappa Upsilon, expected to demonstrate confidence and professionalism in the field once completed everything. But instead demonstrated vindictiveness over time against other people in the same field from other schools all over the globe because of the lack of knowledge gained in the program to succeed, unlike others had. I laugh how half these reviews are not even students… these are all paid reviews 😂😂 International student (3.8gpa) : Yes. You will get a job if you attend. If you would like to work in Michigan that is… You will also have to pay for classes that force you to learn about the American gvt structure (absolutely pointless) as every elective is biased towards domestic students. There are random fees that are never discussed. Wi-Fi is horrible (somewhat decent after 8pm). Gym is always used by athletic teams with poor scheduling. Food on campus is a joke (student government has been fighting to switch provider for years already) There is no communication between the many departments, if you are architecture and want to work countless hours and nights in a row. Have fun balancing these other $$$ electives because "my class is the most important because it took me many years to be able to teach so if you show less emphasis in my class, I will show less compassion towards your grade" – example of professors logic. TL:dr LTU will get you a job, their curriculum needs improvement. Facilities are out dated. Recent events: 03/24/2020 This is by far the worst place to try to get information. When students call for information regarding their account it states to call student accounts. NO ONE answers the phone. Students are asked to leave a message. Students leaves several messages over a period of time and NO ONE returns calls. Students are to graduate and NEED information to help students. We go in person to speak with someone in students services. The people at the Downtown campus were nice. We called the number that was given (District Financial Aid) and the person (male) that answered the phone was no help and rude. He stated that he would pass the information along and when asked how long it will take? No answer. He was reminded that there is 34 days left for the semester. He was asked 30, 45 or 90 days? or 2 weeks or 3 days? Still no answers. Students call to get answers and students get sent from place to place. WCCCD Need to make an area for Students Accounts. Maybe if there's a section for them students can receive faster information. Disclaimer: Not all staff are HORRIBLE, those who are HORRIBLE make it harder for the ones who do ASSIST students. Lousy and unprofessional, even by community college standards. The few professors worth anything aren't worth dealing with the rest of them. The people giving this institution high ratings are likely very, very inexperienced with post-secondary education and think this is the standard. It's not. You, dear reader, deserve better than WCCCD will give you. I received my first failing grade *ever* because one of their professors is incompetent about running online courses, and then was churlishly rude in his response when I suggested a way to make everyone happy. Will the college do anything to help? Of course not. They've already gotten my money, and apparently don't realize that greed will cost them in the long run. Their staff is very unprofessional! They’re also liars as well, it’s hard to trust anything they say because they never get it done. I wanted to transfer to a university for the winter semester but they needed a letter of completion stating that I have met all their requirements. My transfer advisor said she’ll take an email instead. Do you think they did it? No! Lied to me saying they would. Don’t get me started on the struggle to ask the advisors to send it. Another lie was the official transcripts. They said January 14 was the date they would be ready. I called them and they told me they weren’t ready. Detailed review if you are thinking of being a student here! I am an international student from Myanmar (Burma) studying Information Assurance & Cyber Defense after I transfer from community college in California. I swear that my writing is made of 100% facts and truths. No scholarship for international students even if you meet GPA. Education: I had positive experience with most professors. They are really caring and understand your problems and special circumstances. Talk to them. They are also good at giving time to students who want to ask questions one on one in office hours. It is like getting a private tutor. However, there are professors I had bad experience with. I would not mention name in here but go to "rate my professors" and read recent reviews that starts with "//". The classes are mostly required to read textbook. But if the professors are good, they will explain everything you need in class. Otherwise, they will just tell you to read the book. Very bad refund policy compared to other colleges. Dual-enroll at WCC for GenEds to save money and worry free GPA. Campus: I don't feel safe even while walking on campus during the day time. So many crimes just outside of campus and a few on campus. The parking is so bad that you won't find a spot even tho you are paying same price as the parkings in SF Bay Area. Tickets are strictly enforced and sometimes even gave ticket mistakenly. Dorms: I stayed at "The Village EMU" on my first semester since it was Summer 2019. The drinking water fountain is only located in the Village office. It closes after 8pm or so. If you have late classes, don't expect to get water unless you go out of campus and buy at convenient store. Walls are thin so easy to hear someone even if you have hearing problems. Buildings are decaying so when someone heavy walks on above floor, you will not only hear it but also shaking sometimes. When I moved in, the bathroom was super dirty. I later learned that they won't be cleaned even tho it is supposed to every semester as long as there is other roommate sharing the bathroom keep living in the same room every semester without moving out. There are spots on carpet as if they are not properly deep cleaned. I had to took a video since I move in before opening the room door for the first time. Otherwise, it looks like you will be responsible for those damages. When I move out, the managing lady from Physical Plant came in and look at rooms and ordered what to do to janitors before new students move in for the next semester. Those janitors never did even tho the new student moved in. Portable heaters are not allowed in any residence except 2 apartment residences with written permission. This is a huge problem when the windows cannot properly seal the cold. Long story short, I had bullish roommate who is a student athletic for tracks. The Village director is hesitating to take actions even tho I had enough evidence like voice and video recordings of my roommate breaking many rules in ways that harm others like me. 18+ noises after midnight, restroom hygiene, opening AC even tho outside is 40°F, etc…The director told me to follow protocol which is to report RA->assistant director (student)->director before coming to him. I told him that I could not rely on any other students whom may or may not be friends of his. I am afraid of my life due to retaliation. The director told me that there is nothing he could do since he is a student athletic. There was also no more rooms to move him. He said he will review the evidence. I waited a few days but no actions. I told all about my problem to the head of International Student Program. She told me to send an email again this time saying that they are aware of the situation and watching how it is being handled. The director this time took action the next day by asking my roommate to move out of the room. Even then, he was helped by other student staff in moving his belongings as well as car transportation(given so much special privileges and treatments) when he clearly endangered the fellow roommates.HTOO AUNG WIN

I've had a great time as a student here. Most of my professors have been impactful and are proud to be at EMU and Ypsilanti. The scholarships keep getting better too and EMU shows commitment to making a college degree possible for everyone. The administration is not the greatest, but they rarely affect you since they aren't who you deal with daily. I love the program that I am in, and the professors and my advisor have always been supportive. Campus is great too as it's a good midsized campus, which gives the effect that campus is huge during your first year but by your third year it'll feel so small. It is also a midsized university which gives the big/small effect as well, since during the 15 minutes between the main class times, the hallways and sidewalks are jam packed, but if you're walking around during class time, the hallways and sidewalks are completely empty. EMU and it's campus have a chill laid back vibe. The main universal complaint about EMU is the parking, but it really is not that bad. At first, I did think parking was terrible, but you really just need to learn what lots are open at what times. All the small lots that are the closest will be filled after 8am. The Science Complex lot will be filled after 9am. The parking structure will be filled after 9:30am. If you're coming to campus after those times, you really just need to head to the Green lot. I think people dislike the Green lot just because it feels like a long walk, but you can get to most buildings in at least 10 minutes. The Green lot never fills up, so there will always be a spot for you to park on campus. Also, I don't get why everyone complains about the price. Of course I think it's ridicously that a public university makes you pay to park, parking should always be free. But, EMU has one of the lowest parking fees around. I'm pretty sure the cheapest parking you can get at Wayne State is still $50 more than at EMU. And speaking of cheap parking, there is also the option to park off campus, at the athletic campus, and then you ride a free shuttle that drops you off in the heart of main campus. I did this back when it was free, and now they charge you like $20 to park there for a semester, so I just buy an actual pass now, but if you really want to save money this is a fine option, I did it for two years, and it's not bad at all since the shuttle ride is only like 10 minutes. But yeah, overall I love EMU. I've met so many cool people here and made a lot of good memories. It's disappointing how many people have a negative view of EMU, but I think it's because EMU is a commuter college, and commuter students generally do not feel that connected with the college they go to. Eastern Michigan University is a great place to visit.  They also offer a wide variety of educational choices in the arena of higher education.  The campus is somewhat sprawling so it is hard to navigate for some by foot.  Their interior common areas are well kept up.  Their food cafeteria, at least the one I visited on Oakwood is well appointed.  The difficulty, however, is that during times when classes are not in session the only thing that is open is Starbucks.  That’s okay, however, it is expensive and offers a limited set of nutritional choices.  Not ideal for college students nor faculty and staff. The grounds are well kept up in general – for example the lake is attractive and contains a fountain.  The appearance, however, because of this ‘classic’ presentation from what appears to be the 1960’s is the general exclusion of wildlife with the exception of a permanent flock of Canada Geese which have apparently abandoned the practice of migration in exchange for ice free water and free food. When I was there last there was a large irrigation wheel left against a tree.  It appeared dangerous and was unsightly. The last criticism I have to offer is in regards to the parking fees.  They are excessive and frequent.  As public transportation to the area is sporadic and inefficient the major mode of transport is personal car.  The parking fees are just another expense that makes it clear that some higher learning will not be provided without higher prices.Alfred Brock

Wayne State is often overshadowed by U of M and Michigan State. That goes for athletics, academic prowess, and the fact that it is in the very center of Detroit, a city that is really trying to be that much better. And it is. The same can be said about Wayne State. Architecturally, this place is incredible, (a literal sandbox of the famed architect Minoru Yamasaki and worth the visit literally for his buildings and reflecting pool alone). The professors are overall great and push their students for excellence. Unfortunately it is also a place where educational inequality prevails, with a lot of students transferring out, mainly due to systemic inequality in high schools. It is getting better but it is a long road. The "4 year degree" hasn't been achieved by everyone due to having students often "catching up" with core classes. That is the reality. However, if you do make it through, it is worth it. I want to one day see Wayne State placed in conjunction with the big 2 schools in Michigan.Theodore Hynes

It’s a great! Division II school. However, NCAA Division Sports is not the end or beginning to an education. Contrary, Detroit seems to be summed up as oversimplified. The city and the people who go to Universities in Detroit, people of color generally speaking. People of color maybe depicted in a way- propaganda. The professors here are the best teachers I’ve ever had and they are some of the nicest people I’ve ever known! They are great educators, and they do their job, give them a raise! But they are not the reason for the low rating, the college administration, welcome center, and security here are terrible, for example the welcome center is very slow and unorganized, and they don’t do their job properly, not to mention that the college is overly expensive! All the administration cares about is making money, they don’t care about the students. Even the security here is honestly terrible random people can just walk into campus without anyone knowing who they are or what their business is at the college.Rushid Tahiri

Was in a 4 class CAD certificate program. After 2 classes a few people dropped. They canceled the rest of the classes because they then weren't going to make a profit. No refund & couldn't even reach the department head. So stupid! Business based decision that's bad business. Supposed to care about students AND be a business too. The counseling here is garbage. I have been told so many different things when it came to academic advising so I never knew what the truth was. I've been incorrectly advised about drop out dates and now I owe them money. Only had one good teacher here. Don't go here and don't waste your time.Marielle Cianfarani

The worst administrative building ever. I sent over all of my transcripts to them and they received all but one, (which was sent to the same address) so they lost it, didn’t notify me of that I needed to do anything else or that there was something suspicious. Finally I called to see if I was accepted or not after waiting 2 weeks. They wouldn’t help me speed the process up at all so I had to resend the transcript and then wait another two weeks until I found out I was accepted. I had my financial aid in to them in the beginning of June for the fall semester and all the documents needed for them to process it. As I’m writing this it’s the second to last day to pay for college before I get cut out of my classes and I’m still waiting on my financial aid to go through. I’ve called them almost every day asking if it’s gone through or if there is anything else I can do to to help it get processed faster. I’ve been told numerous times there’s nothing else I can do and I just have to wait for them to process. I’m going to be cut from my classes because they haven’t processed my financial aid that’s been in for months. I’ve had everything done with more than enough time for them to DO THEIR JOBS. My whole future is going to be altered for their mistakes and incompetence. I’ve been on the phone with multiple customer service representatives and only ONE has been friendly to me. The rest do not care about the students going there. Everything that could go wrong at this college has, and I’ve never had any problems before at a college. It was the worst mistake of my life to chose to go here.Brooke Riley

I am an alumni of OU. I have applied for a job there several times and will not even get an interview! I am experienced for the jobs posted as they were the ones who trained me. Plus there were other female classmates that were hired and I did not even get a single interview. How can they turn away their own especially since I graduated with honors? As for the school program, be cautious and really examine all of the program requirements.They neglect to tell you everything and give a lot of false hope and promises. Had I known then what I know now, I would have selected an entirely different program and a different school. Classmates and professors were not a problem, but the administration and their lack of information is little to be desired.Rocker Man

So glad i spent my undergrad years here. The campus is beautiful and improving. Dorms are dated but the student apartments are nice if you can get in. Student life is good. The athletics program continues to improve and had instilled alot of pride in students and alum. The food court has many options for all diets. The education is second to none. An excellent engineering and health science program in conjunction with Beaumont hospital. The business school is improving and an outstanding honors college.Soléil McCants

They have their staff write reviews for the program lol. I can't speak for the DG campus, BUT their Maywood ABSN program is an absolute JOKE. Orientation (which included the DG students for the 1st day) had no welcoming signs and you need an ID badge to get into the building, but as orientation students, we don't have that. So a group of us had to wait until a student came in and opened the door for us and from there, there were no signs indicating where orientation was, so we were wandering around the elevator and floors trying to look for the orientation room until we finally found it. *IMPORTANT* IF YOU ATTEND THE MAYWOOD ABSN PROGRAM there are NO study areas. The library that they have should not be called a library. It's one small area that's open (reminds me of a cafeteria) and they have I think 3 or 4 quiet study rooms. It's sad because we share the building with the med school students so you have all the nursing students AND med school students with no where to study. You have thousands of students with only 3 to 4 quiet study rooms????? You can go drive to the lakeshore campus to study (which is the main campus) if you want to pay an ADDITIONAL $300 to pay for their semester parking on top of already paying for the Maywood campus parking. But act fast! because the Lakeshore campus sells out on their $300 parking permits and if you don't buy one, then you're stuck with paying $7 A DAY to park your car because YOUR HEALTH SCIENCES "LIBRARY" DOESN'T HAVE ADEQUATE STUDY SPACES FOR THE THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS THAT ATTEND THIS CAMPUS. This place is a joke. And all the staff that you encounter while applying for this school leave/take on new jobs and you wonder why….. But at the same time, if you apply to this school then you automatically get accepted. You have to be really incompetent to not get in. Fair warning, it does come with major downfalls.David Perez

I only question the reason why their school do not use other transcript evaluation services. Maybe they get a percentage when prospective applicants use their recommended foreign transcript evaluator. Private schools are fond of these kinds of shady schemes to rip students off. And why do i say so? They use a transcript evaluator that is mediocre among the NACES members and even more expensive, while they refuse to accept any other evaluation. They even refuse WES transcript evaluation services that are the number 1 transcript evaluator in the country. In fact, NursingCAS (application portal for nursing admissions), PharmCAS, SOPHAS, GradCas,and med school application portals all accept ONLY WES evaluations because of the thoroughness and accuracy of their verification services (after all, WES is the founder of NACES- the body that has grown to include all the other evaluation services) while Loyala outrightly refuse WES and any other service. If you have a foreign degree that is WES evaluated, don't bother to apply as they will not be accepted. You will be required to redo another more expensive evaluation with their preferred vendor. Their program is expensive, they even run an "online" ABSN and that's added to it being in Chicago(an expensive and dangerous place). I would not recommend for Internationals who want a bang for their buck$.Daniel Stanley

This site looks like you walked into a Grey's Anatomy episode! It looks like any hospital you have walked into but with a small classroom environment feel. Their are hospital beds and everything you would normally see in a hospital room. There also chairs set up in the center for students to observe and discuss different topics. There are even small details like supply closets that are stocked with materials nurses use regularly. There are also big details like a Pyxis machine that hospitals use to monitor and dispense medication. This site is a safe environment that gives students a live environment feel to prepare them for the health industry.Payton Leach
