Please do not attend this school for it's transition to teaching graduate program. The professors did not prepare for their classes and provided low quality education to the point that I could not justify continuing with this program after paying in over $4,000. When attempting to get them to appeal the final $800 for the semester I left the program they simply refused to give any leeway or acknowledge and error on their part and sent me collections with an additional $350 fee. With no recourse beyond their own appeals process that unsurprisingly found no problem on their end, all I can do is complain on their review boards. On the plus side, the do have a beautiful campus and I can not in anyway speak to the quality of their undergraduate program.Daniel Gore

While well established as a great Franciscan university, Marian remains up-and-coming in terms of their MAT program for teachers. I had a wonderful experience in terms of the contacts made and networks formed while attending. However, much remains to be done to increase the rigor and requirements for that particular degree. Still, Marian University will soon open the second medical school in the State of Indiana. They are also adding a seemingly much finer tuned doctoral education leadership program.Tim Lankford

Here visiting for a campus tour with my daughter. So far what we have seen is amazing. Marian University is a great place. The buildings are contemporary except for a few historical sites that were preserved. Other than that, it appears to be a great place. The people were friendly as we visited as well. Extremely odd layout for lots compared to all other land-grant universities I’ve had the opportunity to visit. Parking lots are all across main public roads, which is inconvenient. Professors are decent, with a major inconvenience of not being allowed to write their own material for classes (especially the mathematics departments, they are all forced to use the same program and note guides for everything). This is paired with the university not wanting to have multiple exams, so they lump mathematics exams all together for a subject into the wee hours of the morning, before all other classes. Obviously this has a negative result on performance for all the classes, but they saved money not changing the numbers 5 times! Also, be warned that the advisors are not there to help you, but seemingly to lock you into paying for classes regardless of whether you want them or not. There are holds for the next semester that are automatically placed on your account after the withdraw with refund date for a semester has passed, so that if you want to drop a class later on, you need to get the hold removed (even though it’s for a later semester). I have yet to hear of an advisor that will do this without trying to insist that you meet with them during office hours, even if you clearly state that you know what you’re doing and you just need the hold removed. Just for comparison, the community college I earned my AA degree at had advisors that were available to assist you, but they did not place advising holds on your account, and you could add/drop classes on your own. The professors also got to write their own note guides and exams, which was highly beneficial to learning, largely because that meant you got to take exams during normal class times, and not 6:30 in the morning. The Brookings area also has a disappointing lack of attractions to keep you busy, the city owns the only liquor store, and the cost of living here is fairly high. All in all, if what you’re majoring in is only available here, then suffer through it, be aware of these traps that exist, and get out the other side. One of the better looking universities in the area, but recently it's gotten more expensive, the great professors have left or only teach 1-2 classes a year because of finding issues and out of classroom experience is tough. Honestly, I would only go here for an ag-degree. The others (art, comp sci, engineering, math, etc) fall short and nursing is very cutthroat (2 years of classes and you get one B means your not accepted). Engineering professors care, but experience outside the classroom is vital and its tough to get an internship or full time job outside Brookings without a connection. The only place to work is Daktranics but they aren't student friendly I've found year to year, classroom material differs, not covering necessary sections or professors hurry through concepts or examples to finish in time and expect you to fill in the gaps. Graduating in 4 years is tough, even 5 is hard with 16 credit semesters and summer classes. There also aren't enough quiet places to study. The library isn't big enough and don't have power outlets everywhere, voices echo in the dorms, classrooms are locked at night and weekends so you have to call campus police to let you in, coffee shops and the common areas don't have big enough tables to actually study; so good luck. Another thing is the lack of parking and car pooling into campus if you live off, the "required" dining plans the first two years where one meal costs $7-12 but you're only allotted $10 a day, the random closures at the gym, few jobs are available for students but tuition is high enough that you need 20-25 hours a week to afford next semester after government and school loans. Overall, it's decent looking school in the area, but there are some serious issues and I would have looked elsewhere if I knew these problemsBen Petersen

A terrible university, don't ever think of coming here, you will hate yourself. This university is like a trap once you enter you will be a hostage, they will tell you come we are affordable, and you think it is nice 4 year, it is NOT you will never graduate less the 7 year speaking of most degrees. I just completed the MSN FNP program, however, my diploma/degree conferral is being held until September. As a result, I cannot obtain a license to practice until, at least, September. Most likely, it’s going to be even longer than that. I had a job lined up but, now that I have no way to get certified for, at least, two months, that’s gone. Oh, and, yes, it does state that at the end of the end of a page, after encouraging me to take two different certification exams which run upwards of $300 each just to sit for the exam. There are review courses available but each one runs about $395 if you want a reputable one. So, in summation, I have completed an advanced degree, have incurred the cost of this degree, still have to work as an RN for two to three more months, lost my potential job, and my diploma is, in essence, being held for ransom. Dr. Sara Runge and Dr. Eileen Shanahan arranged a summer Camp for GRAD Cincinnati this week (June 13th-June15th). This is our 7th year working with Dr. Runge and as in previous years the program was very well planned. The students were able to experience the campus life by staying in the dorms and all of the colleges with hands on experiences. The students' presentations indicated they all learned a great deal. They all stated we had a great time. Even though the weather hit a record high, the staff from NKU worked very hard to make certain the students had a fulfill campus experience. NKU staff and professors did an outstanding job providing a 3 day college tour/retreat for our High School students. NKU staff offered our students opportunities to explore their academic interests, participate in hands on activities and visit a variety of labs, which in turn helped spark new ideas for career options and educational pursuits. Students were given opportunities to ask questions, interact with professors, department heads, other staff members, and a student panel which helped them to understand college on a deeper level. My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. With his support and all of SJVC workers, instructors, and all around everyone, I was able to get threw this pandemic we are still having and graduate with a 4.0 and being on the deans list. I'm in the midst of the program and just love it!! The teachers and staff are fantastic and it feels like they have become my extended family. They care and want you to succeed. It's hard to tell %100 for sure during this COVID-19 days but the times I went there, I saw a student population a lot more relaxed, focused and engaged in their reason for attending college, compared to some other places we visited prior to enrollment. Baylor is an amazing school. For a few reviews before me we are not all "rich kids wanting to blow daddy's money" or "rude". I personally have a bad background that would not match the first statement. I am not rich. I am blessed to be in this university thanks to scholarships and my hard working mother. Baylor itself is a blessing. Its a rigorous school BUT very well worth it. I love being part of the Baylor community. Its a beautiful campus filled with loving people. Its not "perfect" because nothing is. There will be a few issues like yes there are some kids who don't care and my be rude or blow things off but really if you are a part of it you will see the majority of the campus and the people here are more than amazing and loving. This is a fantastic university for the liberal arts. I have talked to people from other universities and to those that have come to visit me at college, and all of them see a difference in the student body. There is just a different atmosphere. All the people are kind and welcoming and always willing to help in times of need. The professors are nationally ranked and are not only outstanding in their fields of study, but wonderful people as well. Even if you're not looking to go to college, its a beautiful campus to just walk around in. It's almost like a park in some ways. Just give it a visit and I promise you'll be hooked! I loved my time as I attended Baylor for undergrad, and grad school (2008-2015). The campus has changed so much since i first step foot in 2008 (all for the better). Baylor (and Waco) is in a resurgence/growth period. Its an awesome time for Baylor and Waco. I loved my time there even though I'm not religious (agnostic/theist). Great people (students and especially faculty), and community. There was a reason why I came back to get my masters at Baylor. They helped me get through some rough times, and i am better for it now. This is not an honest university. They lie to students just to get their money and do not help students in any way. They even try shady tactics to steal your money like not allowing you to drop all your course within the drop/add period which is odd because that time frame should give you the authority to do so. They try to keep courses on your schedule so they can charge you for it. The financial aid department is rude and can never keep their information straight. You will always get a different answer with them. They are only nice to the students who get duped into giving them money, but if you ask them about your financial aid they get upset as if you are only supposed to be seen not heard. The staff are very unresponsive they do not pick up the phone, return phone calls and do not answer emails efficiently. An example if you ask them how much will it be for four courses and will it be costly. they will answer an answer like how many course do you plan to take. A lot of their answers either don't answer the question, don't make sense or are answering a question with a question. Plus, the cost per credit is very high for the type of school it is. Better schools have a lower cost per credit like schools on the east coast, south and west coast. The President ignores students and doesn't respond to them. Plus, a lot of the staff is lazy. A task that only takes a day or two to complete with take them three weeks. Upon admission they omit a lot of important information to lure you into their program. DO NOT ATTEND THIS UNIVERSITY! This is by far the worst run school I have ever seen. First, the front offices can’t tell if you’re coming or going. They tell you everything is in order but then come back to you after classes are starting and tell you they forgot to submit your paperwork. They also like to have you sign up for programs they have zero possibility of even having get off the ground. So once your registered they pull a bait and switch on you and drop you into a program until your desired program eventually starts. Hint: the program never starts so you owe them a lot of money and never even get the degree you originally desired. This place definitely treats you more as a dollar sign than a student and couldn’t care less about your goals or future. Only that you pay them on time. There is some serious shady business that takes place in this school. Especially in the business programs. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to find out that they will be under investigation for secretly operating as a “For profit institution”. Hint: they will be soon because they have been reported. Also, don’t expect them to offer you any form of apologies, even when they know they mess up. When three students in a program confront the administrators and program chairs about their desire to learn, and the lack of cooperation from instructors, the entire management team runs and buries their heads in the sand. Honestly, my best advice is to cross this school off your list if you value your future, or have any interest in a real education. I'm sure this would be a good school if I was able to actually login and do my work without a problem on a daily basis. But since I have to call the Help Desk everyday to get my password reset so I can get online and do my work, I can't tell. I have no problems logging into any other websites or accounts, and I have dozens of them. But try as I might to do something simple like put in a username and password and be able to get into the site and do my work seems to be a monumental challenge to this school. I've had two classes so far and my experience doing work here is traumatic. I absolutely dread coming to the computer to login because I know it's going to be an hour on the phone with the help desk and they're going to assume the problem is with my computer, like they always do. Someone needs to fix the schools' computer problem and stop blaming students for having login problems.Dino De Rosa

I hate this school but I did get a good education. The teachers care about their students (most of them anyway), but everyone else just cares about money! When I came for summer o I had already been accepted and was excited to attend largely because of the low tuition costs. Then I get to course advising they tell me that I’m required to take a 1 credit hour class and if I take more than 15 credit hours I have to pay an extra $ 700 for each credit hour over! Either that or I would have to take 13 credit hours and be off track for graduation. Then I decided college wasn’t for me but I was so close to getting my associates I decided I’d switch my major to that and take two summer classes. I applied for graduation a little month late butveas charged an extra $50 on my application and the semester ends tomorrow and they still haven’t approved me! I emailed them and they are dodging the question and not being helpful. If you live in Kentucky I’d recommend going here because it’s cheap for you but if you’re out if state go somewhere else.Kylie Liefer

Murray State University is a fantastic regional university that offers many great undergraduate and graduate programs. Murray State offers many great benefits compared to other universities across Kentucky and Tennessee, such as smaller class sizes, friendly faculty and staff, decreased tuition and expenses, and a diverse student population. I would not recommend this school, I am truly and whole heartedly regretful of choosing this school over all of the other options I had. Something about this school stood out to me, and the counselors here try really hard to get you in. I do not identify with Christian faith and I am not religious at all so I initially felt weird about going to this school, but they mention multiple times that they accept all faiths and backgrounds so I felt better. However, upon talking their forced “Christian Worldview” class, the teacher grades with an iron fist for a 101 class and is just awful. My GPA for sure was going to plummet due to this stupid 101 class that they force on you. Honestly it was so ridiculous that I felt the need to reach out to my advisor. I was trying to come up with a solution because I felt some type of way about this. I suggested them placing me with a different teacher, since this teacher has AWFUL reviews going back years yet they do nothing about it. However they pretty much told me I still had to take the class, I could not switch to another teacher (you cannot pick your own teachers by the way which is huge for me now). Their only solution was that “another teacher would review my work.” This turned me off so bad from the entire school that I ended up withdrawing due to principal which messed up my financial aid. They honestly did not care one bit and obviously know there is a problem but do nothing to address it. I was so turned off that I chose to mess up my financial aid and just pick another school, there was no way that I was finishing out my degree here after this. Go elsewhere !!Taylor

I am an Atheist. I chose this college because it had the focus I was looking for, the delivery method was fully online so I could continue to work, and the price was the best around. I did not feel like being of the Christian faith was a prerequisite. My instructors and professors were not pushy with religion, and for a master's program, I felt like I was able to learn what was necessary for the field I was in. I have a Master's degree and 2 focuses now from GCU and I couldn't be happier with my education and experience. Parking in Garage building#7 on 33rdAvewas the best for going into the areana. We had to checkin at theguard station, drive around it then enter the parking garage. Parking was allowed on the 2ndfloor and above. It was the AFHE homeschool senior graduation. The campuswas very green. The areana was building #38 there is a museum to JERRY COLANGELO here and a beautiful tripple cross monument. The restrooms are spacious and everything but the soap dispensers are automated. If you are a parent thinking of sending your kid here, or a student thinking about attending….DON’T!! Unless you are a parent that likes getting calls once a week that they just heard gunshots or someone they knew was robbed or had their car broken into. Or if you’re a student that doesn’t want to leave campus without wearing a bulletproof vest. They might as well pick this place up and drop it in the middle of Baghdad. Your kid would probably safer. Many of my professors didn’t take me seriously because I didn’t follow their beliefs. In one of their classes I failed because, “since you didn’t grow up in a catholic family you’ll never get it.” I was trying as hard as I could, SI’s, tutors, everything, but as soon as the professor knew I was atheist I felt extremely ostracized, not only from the student body but from the staff as well. Rockhurst has a beautiful campus in Kansas City. It is a smaller college campus and it is located close to the Plaza. Although I haven't personally taken classes, I have been told it is a good experience. They are partnering with St Luke's for the nursing program. The security officers that I've encountered have been super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend checking out this college.Kimber Mata

I went to this university to swim and get a great education in biology and psychology. The science facilities where labs were held hadn’t been updated in Lord knows how long. Every freshman has to take a “core” class and my second semester my professor was the catholic minister of the school who discriminated against me for my religious beliefs. That’s when I knew this school was a joke. I would say 75% of the freshman are promised tens of thousands in scholarships throughout their four years from the school which convinces a lot of them to choose Valpo then after their freshman year they take away almost everybody’s scholarships after their established at Valpo and half their credits won’t transfer. They pump their money into new dorms, new sorority housing, and adding to the already extravagant church while neglecting to update their outdated education facilities. The athletics spends all its money on its average basketball team. The swimming pool was literally a gas chamber and some of my teammates on the swim team who were juniors and seniors had developed asthma swimming in that pool so long. It’s an “engineering” school but the campus itself is poorly engineered so there’s always huge pools of water everywhere. You’ll have to move your car so there’s somewhere for them to put all the snow in the winter. The student population is pretty cool I made a ton of friends with a lot of great people but it’s mostly kids from mommy daddy money with everything handed to them. I got falsely accused of cheating by a student with a vendetta against me and had to go through a long, drawn out process with their “judicial board” just for them to tell me I didn’t cheat. I had a professor with a “Christian psychology” degree – must be a degree given by Valpo themselves because those are probably one of the only people still living in the nineteenth century incorporating religion with science. He was also clueless on most modern day psychology, so was the head of the psych department who looked like he was still alive from the nineteenth century. My current roommate graduated from Valpo and they did a horrendous job with his career placement and search before graduating because now he works for – believe it or not – a Lutheran organization and doesn’t make half of what I do without a college degree. I hear the engineering program is decent but definitely has nothing on Purdue’s which is a fraction of the cost. Long story short, Valparaiso university is a big fat waste of money and I would stay far away from this cold, desolate place. Engineering kids – save your parents some money and go to Purdue. The school tries so hard to be a big name like Purdue, Notre Dame, or IU. But they simply are not. This school makes it as inconvenient as possible if you are a commuter student. The school not only give commuters less parking than the staff, but the locations of the commuter parking lots are as far away from any building as possible. Not only this, you pay for parking separate from tuition. My parking fines (though arbitary in price) have cost me far less than aquiring a parking permit for this school. Despite the fact that a third of students attending this school are commuters, Valpo only seems to care about out of state or international students. This is simply my opinion but I believe the school cares less about commuters in order to draw in out of state students, in the hopes that their name spreads. Well I had never heard of this second rate school until moving to this area. I only attended this school because it was so close. To this day, I regret not pursuing a cheaper option such as Ivey Tech, or Purdue Northwest. The advice I give to anyone asking about this school is to attend a more affordable college that will more than likely give you a better education.Grant Arnold

I think as an international student I am the first one who graduated from Valpo with a JD degree from Taiwan in 1993. Valpo Law School has trained me to become a legal professional that benefits me so much in handling many legal problems in international business transactions, thanks to rich curriculum and faculty at Valpo Law School. Especially, contract law and intellectual property law and international business transaction as well. Presently I am a partner of a law firm and a consulting company, while teaching law at college. Also, I am serving as independent director for several listed companies in Taiwan Stock Market. I enjoy studying in Valparaiso even the study there was so demanding from 1990-1993 because English is my second language. My daughter was born in Valpo. The Campus is clean, and well maintained. The food isn't too bad. But aside from these constants, you will have a different experience depending on your worldview going in. The theology and philosophy courses you will be required to take will be authentically Catholic, which will either encourage or enrage you depending on if you are a practicing Catholic or not. Other general ed's will be standard, but sufficent. DeSales University is going to be a decidedly different experience depending on your major as well. If your major is in the arts and you are a practicing Catholic, you will have a tough time since most of the people in that major will be agnostic or atheist (and professors may be geared towards that). However-the actual theory and practical application of the discipline you are studying is going to be very good and useful. The people you meets will likely be very nice, and you won't have a tough time finding friends if you try. The faith life of campus is pretty good, with various to groups to encourage you. There's a small community of students who attend daily mass, which is always a help. The Mass itself however (Sunday and weekday), leaves a bit to be desired. The music especially will sound a bit 1970's, instead of having the timeless characteristic of a liturgically accurate mass. Gregorian Chant or Polyphony would sure help here, but the choir director is a protestant at the moment (for some reason) so that is unlikely. All in all, whether you are a practicing Catholic or an unabashed pagan you will have some issues with DeSales, but the academics themselves are good and you will likely be prepared for your field upon graduation.JP Kloess

It seems incredible that they are a university with "Christian principles" and today February 22, 2021, they announced a snow day and did not cancel classes or offer them online to students who commute to campus. My daughter is in college and she cannot come back to my home because it is snowing very hard and she drives a small car that cannot be driven in the snow because it may cause and or have an accident. You should be more empathetic with the students who commute. It seems that they are only interested in the money and not in the lives of the students. Enjoyed a few Basebal Games. Not a bad seat in the house. When One arrives at The Stadium Complex, there's an opportunity to watch Men's Baseball or Women's Softball. The fields are "SUPER" nice. They are well maintained and down right beautiful. Bring an umbrella for shade. It can get a bit hot. This is a "GREAT" Family Event. Unlike other places, there's NO COST to get in. Parking is free , however it can get a little tight w/ games going on at both fields simultaneously. This being said, If you're a Baseball Fan, it's an experience to be had. Visit soon….. I feel as if most of the reviews given do not do justice to the University itself and to the incoming freshman's coming straight from high school. I chose to go to this particular university because my family engraved this stigma against large universities. "Smaller classes" are better because you will get a more personable experience with your professor. Also, growing up in a Catholic household, this was the ideal school for me. I was also drawn into the University for many other reasons. 1. I was drawn to the nursing program because it stated that all "incoming freshman's with 3.5 GPA's will have automatic admittance into the nursing program". 2. The scholarship I received in the mail blew my mind. However, little did I know that it would still cost me an arm and a leg to pay for me staying there. 3. The location because it is in the most beautiful part of Houston. 4. The friendly faces and helpful staff. I will never forget any of the professor's I have taken because they really are the most kindest people you'll ever meet. (most of them at least). I spent one year at UST and I can honestly tell you that I have gained some and lost some. I have gained great communication skills, great study skills, few great friends, and student debt. On the other hand, I lost one year of college, thirty thousand dollars, and valuable knowledge I could have further expanded instead of taking philosophy and theology requirements. I enrolled to UST intending to graduate with a nursing degree. I thought I gained automatic admittance due to my 3.5+ GPA in highschool. However, that was not the case because you must apply to UST first as a student, then apply into the nursing school at the end of the year (which is really competitive because there are only 40 slots and 100-200 students applying?). If I were to have known that I would have just gone to UTA where they do live up to that statement of automatic admittance with a certain GPA requirement. So I basically spent a year paying for graduate school when all I needed were pre-reqs that I could have taken at HCC. I remember signing up for ONE summer statistics class and the price totaled to $4,000+. People at UH spend $4,000-5,000 in ONE SEMESTER with 12 credits. Also, to all the feminist's out there, they pay male professor's more than female professors (for doing the same job). And that does not undermine the fact that the professors make less than the average salary while the president of the university makes more than the average university president salary? hm. With the tuition exceeding $30,000+ a year, it comes to show where the money goes to since you cannot see it on the campus. The library is out dated, the buildings are outdated, however the church is beautiful. I guess a really good thing UST does is how they offer amazing scholarships to veterans and police officers who serve. Another disappointment is the lack of student/campus life. This school seems to be more fitting for older students, not younger incoming freshman. There are not many active clubs or events like you would see at UTSA, UH, or any public college. It somewhat makes you lose the "college experience". However, they do offer retreats and study abroad opportunities. It is really inclusive to Catholicism, however it comes to no surprise as this is a catholic university. If you are financially well off, with money to spare for 6 extra classes (18 credits total) and smaller class sizes then this is the place for you. If you get admitted for free due to financial aid, then even better. Do not attend this school if you are an incoming freshman looking to experience college to the max. This university won't give you the opportunity to explore what you want, instead it will decide for you. And smaller class sizes will not make you pass, it is up to you to take that initiative. No matter how big or small the university is, it is your initiative that makes you succeed. All in all, it is an average school, just isn't the one for me.delol mko

The Cameron School of Business is great for anyone looking for a good quality MBA program in Houston for working professionals. They are AACSB accredited, which was one of my deciding factors in going to school here. Less than 5% off all business schools in the world are AACSB accredited according to their website. The staff is friendly, some of the classrooms could use updating, and the computer labs need a bit of an upgrade. The campus is really nice and was designed by Philip Johnson the famous architect. Overall the programs are good especially for working professionals. However, some of the finance, accounting, and other quantitative courses should be more challenging and require more Calculus, Diff Eq. more advanced statistics, etc. to improve the quality of the overall program.Tom Dantario

CBU is pretty rad, and I want to respond to what I've seen in a couple reviews here. The first of which is people saying the location in Riverside sucks. I'll admit Riverside is not super tight, but there is the mission inn and a drive in movie theater and a few other things which are pretty cool within a few minutes of campus. The best part of Riverside is it's less than an hour from the beach, an hour from the mountains, and hour from LA and 45 minutes from a few theme parks. So if you have a car and aren't super lazy, your weekends should be fun. And there's always fun stuff going on campus too, (dive in movie nights at the pool, intramural and NCAA sports games, concerts, carnivals etc.) so if you have a good attitude you can have fun hanging out on campus. People are saying CBU wants your money. Of course they do, so does every other university that is in business. However CBU will really work with you to help you afford the school. Get good grades, maybe go out for a sports team or the music department and you'll get even more money. You have to work for it though, they don't give out serious amounts of money to anyone. If your parents are in ministry (pastor/missionary/work full time at a church) you're in luck too cuz they have scholarships for that too. It's a Christian school… Yep. I wouldn't say intolerant though. You will be taught what they believe to be Christian values and you can only expect that. There's like 7,000 students too so I'm sure there are rude intolerant ones there too. I think you will find rude/intolerant people no matter where you go but it most definitely is not the essence of the student body. CBU has a uniquely welcoming and loving community, and that's something I've heard from Christians and non-Christians alike at the school. Both are welcome to come but both also are required to go to chapel and follow the rules. I don't agree with all the rules but most of them are a pretty reasonable balance of trying to give freedom to students and adhere to Christian principles (coming from a non-conservative Christian background). That's part of making the decision to go to a Christian university, and realistically it's probably what's best for you anyways. If anyone has anything bad to say about the food I don't know what world famous chef you had cooking for you your entire life before here. The caf has killer variety, Chik-fil-a is freaking Chik-fil-a, Wandas has great breakfast and the best steak quesadillas, and El-Monte is as good as Chipotle. CBU does give real world experience. I know as a business major there are some awesome professors that are all about real world experience. Dr. Weniger and Alderson are a couple that come to mind. You get out what you put into your classes and almost every single professor at the school is very open to spending time with you helping you out with homework or just life. Academics are pretty top tier, but professors do come and go and though most are great, some are much better than others, so do a little time looking round rate my professor if you want the best ones. CBU is great. Sure there are other universities that are great too (not to many that compare that are in Southern California though) but CBU is a well rounded school academically, socially and spiritually. No school/student body is perfect, that's just life, but CBU is a solid choice to spend 4 years growing academically and spiritually into who you are going to be the rest of your life.Jake Roque

Okay, so I went to this school originally considering a nursing degree. It's hard to have many nice things to say about this school.. The school looks nice, but the neighborhood area is crap. You have to drive kinda far to see or do anything nice. It's hardly in Riverside, CA. Feel more like Norco, armpit of California. They put most of their students in cheap housing. Much of it was temporary when I was there. Other housing was old folks homes. Weird cheap, and kinda gross. The major feature of this school is this: They want your money. That's all. It's nothing spectacular in any way, and based on the price, it's a really bad deal. They "award" small scholarships to practically any student for any reason. They try to bring in a bunch of students through their music school. A music degree is NOT WORTH 100k- 150k of debt. And please remember folks, if everybody gets a scholarship, it's not actually a scholarship. THINK about it.. They just want your attention and your money. ALSO, Please be aware they will be raising the tuition on you every year, by lots of money! If you start at 30-35k, You will probably end at 40-45k annually. It's probably costing something around or over 40 or more thousand per year now. And YOU WILL pay more than you think by the end of the year. It's a Christian school, which is fine if you're a Christian. They are relatively intolerant conservatives though. Very serious/ oppressive Christian all over the place. Many of the students are sheltered, and having moved on to a regular university, I can tell you it doesn't represent the real world experience, or normal people, for the most part. Regarding this: Don't bother going here unless you're a rich serious sheltered Christian. If that's what you value, then maybe you'll like this place. Some of the people are fairly friendly, and the food in the cafeteria was good WHEN I was there. That more than a year ago. Some of the teachers were alright as well. I mostly took science classes, for reference. In summary, if you're not a young Christian who has no desire for real-world experience,then don't go here. The price is so not worth it! It's an institution for profit! Go to your local community college and earn entrance to a great University! Even Ivy league schools are looking to replace young dropouts with students that did well in their community colleges! It's just not worth it. I loved all 4 years at this school! As a freshman, I lived in the dorms and met my group of closest friends that I still hang out with to this day. I loved the food and had to be careful with dessert in the cafeteria otherwise I would have packed on the calories. The school does a great job of setting up events that target every student and gives great deals for other off-campus events like cheap Lakers tickets, cheap tickets to theme parks, and other giveaways. I am Mexican and I have never once felt like I was discriminated against at this school, if anything there are plenty of people at this school who make an effort to talk about racial injustices among students. As far as the incident in Ontario, I just want to say that you can find that level of ingorance at any university and even more so outside of that setting. Two girls made a stupid decision to throw a drink on a guy and they happened to be CBU students. If I’m being real here, CBU does not turn many people away when it comes to the application process, so any person who has higher than a 2.5 GPA will most likely get in. CBU does not necessarily focus on whether you are a Christian or not because they’d rather have you here at this school than at a school where the chance of hearing the gospel is much lower. Now back to the point, CBU is honestly such a great school and if you’ve ever visited, you notice right away that the atmosphere is one that you can’t find in many other places. People treat you with love, respect, understanding, and kindness. CBU is a school that truly looks to serve the students in any way possible and that’s the truth. Don’t let others who are are upset about what happened in Ontario tear down the idea of coming to this school because you will definitely see that the number of students who will treat you with love and respect far outweighs the ones who would pour a drink on you for sitting during the national anthem. I first came to Goodwin for a Manufacturing Career Fair on August 2014. My plan going in was to improve/expand my professional network but after introducing myself to the two ladies at the front door, I was escorted to the admissions office. During this impromptu meeting I learned of their range of Manufacturing programs ranging from a Collegiate Certificate to Bachelor's Degrees. The lady I met with was very nice so I decided to let her run through her whole pitch before refusing. After she finished running through her speech I was about to politely decline when my eyes fell upon a pamphlet detailing their Certificate in CNC Machining. My attitude switched from polite dismissal to serious consideration. By the time the holiday season was in force, I had officially enrolled. From the Spring 2015 – Fall 2016 semesters, I experienced the most fulfilling education of my life. Classes tailored to my major were taught by professors with real-life experience in the manufacturing field. Knowledge gained from operating machines in the school's shop helped me secure my first manufacturing based job (which at the time of this review, I have been at for over a year). Around two weeks ago I walked in the 2017 Commencement with my CNC Certificate AND Associate's Degree (Summa Cum Laude!!!). Making the choice to again become a student with Goodwin College is one I do not regret, in spite of my now increased loan debt. Looking for a quality education with real life application? I graduated in 2006 with a General Business Degree the Staff and Faculty were all very helpful and on top of their jobs. I signed back for classes in 2013 for my Bachelor's Degree in Business unfortunately the staff and faculty changed in a Very Negative way. I had Mr. Rotondo as my Advisor who had me taking classes that i had previously taken also the Black Board Online classes system kept going down I another class were i completed the work on time but their system did not register my work it had been idled for 36 or more hours and never registered my work causing me a NS for the class this caused a snowball affect to the downfall of me no longer attending classes. I talked with Professor Valeria he advised i write some sort of letter which i did explaining the double classes Mr. Rotondo had me take due to him not paying attention to my previous classes for He was my teacher in 2004-2006. I wrote the letter and i have not heard Anything back from Goodwin They just cost my family Time and Money.Callie Faison

So far I love the complex, the professor are really nice and helpful. They want you to pass the class for sure. The only thing I can complain is for the service of Financial Aid. I am a transfer from Lincoln College and when I was about to change they explain me that it would be cheaper or about the same. Before classes start I went to Financial Aid to see how much it was going to cost me, but they didn't have any information of me yet. Then I received a message saying "to not go to financial aid" I could start right away. I went again the day before start and they couldn't tell me anything. They charge already for the semester, it shown in my credit report, this is my third week of class and I do not even know if is the same as Lincoln, more expensive or less.Christian Diaz

I wish I could give this school ZERO stars. Some teachers press play on a recorded lecture during our "class," and thats how we learn. Other teachers read verbatim off of the slides. There is only one competent teacher – Mary Castang, but she only teaches the begining nursing classes. The teachers were very unprofessional and often didnt know answers to students questions. They are very power hungry, and will get in arguments with students who find mistakes or have questions about the material/books. The books are written by regis professors – an obvious conflict of interest and are required for the class. The clinical instructors are VERY untrustworthy, and will cover their back in an instant, and put the students at risk. Even though they are supposed to protect students, and teach them during clinical. The dean for the nursing school terrible, and should really be looked into. She claims to care about the students well being and wants them to suceed. Of course this all happens virtually or in a big lecture hall in front of all the students. When met with individually she acted as if she was listening and responded with a gereic response she probably tells all students/ has a list and chooses one that matches what the student says –> all she had to say was "I dont care," and literally reapeated that after I tried to explain. All very degrading and emotionally traumatizing when nurses in school are already loaded with busy work from class, and clinical work assigned by the clinical instructor and from the class teacher. Lisa Zenoni comes off as the sweetest lady during orientation, and seems super supportive of students succeeding. After school starts shes very passive aggressive, and gets very defensive when she is confronted about being wrong. All in all, if admitted to the nursing program, be aware of every rules in the student guide, and dont follow the directions of the clinical instuctors as those rules dont match the regis rules and those are grounds for dismissal. Understand the teachers and how they teach and be ready to teach yourself. As for the students, the younger students who went throught the regis college are very rude to the transfer students and try to get them in trouble due to the fact that theu are usually smarter, do really well in all the classes, and are very motivated. Be very careful where trust is,placed as it is easilt used to get students in trouble.maria trick

Disappointment at every turn. I'm a student at Regis, was using my GI Bill here. I've seen a lot of my classmates (BS Computer Science) not able to find the classes offered needed to graduate on schedule. The course offerings are pretty sporadic, graduating on time is unlikely. I was pursuing a certificate in Information Systems Security along with a BS in Computer Science, but the Advanced Unix course that was required for the certificate is offered once a year and often doesn't even run. Now the certificate has been withdrawn. The advisors are helpless. The closer you get to graduation, the harder it is to find the classes you need. I have been advising my veteran friends to attend other schools. The professors here are top notch. They are the only reason I can give Regis two starts instead of one.Zach Zachareas

If you don't already have a job in the computer programming world, do not bother going to Regis through their online computer science degree program. The program has many errors in both the content, the instructions, and even in the grading of assignments. The cost of their program is incredibly expensive, unacceptably so with the errors they have in their own coursework. You also spend all of your time reading and teaching yourself since there are little to no videos available. This is fine if you have experience in the field already or are fine with reading a textbook, but if you are looking for someone to actually teach you this is not the location you want to go. My alma mater, as of 1975. I considered it an optimal learning opportunity, and (at the time frame considered…) a quite reasonable investment. The only 'drawback' (at the time) being the regular 'business of life' [and unfortunately as well, death – Cancer, in Family]. Exigencies are unavoidable, and need to be addressed a.s.a.p., and can cascade into other further nets of decisions. I certainly did enjoy my stay there (the area, as well as the great University !). There was just never enough time to fully explore the many opportunities. If only one could repeat some experiences, possibly change some choices, and avail others… but then one could add that reflection to many things. If you have the 'wherewithal', it is highly recommended, not merely by myself, but many others. An EXCELLENT UNIVERSITY!!Lahn Moore

Amazing Geology program, filled with the some of the most intelligent members of the field. Professors legitimately care about student success and the curriculum is top notch. Additionally, the field trips are all well planned and very educational. I will say that all schools have there administration issues. Some of the reviews here are a reflection of a particular professor or financial aid issue which should be in no way a reflection of the overall college. The college is a beautiful place to attend with numerous private beaches and has an overall elegant esthetic appearance. The college has it's own public safety and is a blue light district. I will say that I myself have had a few minor issues with professors and the Dean of my school but regardless there is a procedure through the college to handle any issues someone may have with a member of the staff. Unfortunately some people chose not to educate themselves on how to deal with problems rather than go on google and write poor reviews about an overall great university with an internship program that could turn many peoples lives around. The university is also a great provider of education for young mothers who want to make a life for themselves and their child. I would highly recommend to ANYONE to attend Endicott College!Tayla Bagley

Beautiful campus. I was there for the graduation ceremony on 5/17/18. Very efficient system of getting people to and from the stadium. They provided bused, shuttle vans and golf carts. The ceremony was really good and tge students spoke highly of their experiences. Definitely a place to look into for a future degree.Greta A. Douglas

This school only employed extremely right wing, openly racist, often under-qualified staff when I was attending from 2003 until my graduation in 2006. The accreditation from this school was not recognized by any State schools or other colleges, so I had to remain at this bigoted institution unless I wanted to spend the time and money to start my education from scratch elsewhere. A very nice campus in the OC. I went on a tour for counselors here about a year ago. This is a nice place if you want small classes and a nice living enviroment. Your professors really get to know you and you get plenty of connections before you graduate. Also, plenty of study abroad opportunities. There's a reason this was the highest ranking Christian school in the latest US News and World Reports rankings. It's a fantastic Christian school, a fantastic liberal arts school in general, a genuine college community. Everyone I know who went there left Westmont as a gloabal-thinking, critically-minded, erudite individual. This isn't a place where kids go to college to party, skip classes, or sit in a 100-300 person lecture hall. I never had a class over 45 students and most of my classes were more like 10-20. The professors here are brilliant men and women, many of whom could easily be teaching at prestigious research institutions but who instead chose to contribute to the wonderful, thoughtful liberal arts program at this school. I loved every minute of my Westmont experience. I'm a better person for it, and I have better friends and mentors from my college years because it's truly a community that cares – about their peers, about the world, and about asking smart questions about life, faith, and our own imperfections. This is not a Bible-thumper college. It's a high quality liberal arts college that hearkens back to the foundations of Christian renaissance style education. It's a very challenging school academically. If you are lucky enough to get in here and have the means, don't think about it twice. Go. I had a full scholarship to USC and chose Westmont instead. It's turned out to be the best decision of my life. The gorgeous Montecito location is just a wonderful bonus!Rachel Weeda

VISITOR warning! dont believe there lies about it being an open campus. It's a small school and everyone knows everyone. A visitor will stick out. Trying to enjoy lunch in there cafeteria a few years ago brought security and interigration of why I'm there. Security gave my info to the vice-president or dean or someone who sent me threatening certified mail and then contacted SB city college who had security waiting outside my class! SB city college said "we're sister schools" An attorney said it would cost 10K to find out who was lying about me and the attorney said Westmont was constantly being sued. If stopped by security make sure to NOT show ID or answer any questions, they will use anything you say against you. Your constitutional rights protect you,Mark S.

Transferred to Westmont from a state university, and I've never regretted the decision. Classroom sizes are small, allowing you to learn more directly from the professors instead of T.A.'s (common in large universities). Also, the relationships you build with the professors are definitely powerful for networking after graduation and finding jobs. Two things I did not like at Westmont College. 1. Dining Commons – only one choice to dine on campus, not really allowing much of an option. They do serve a large variety of food choices, but are still the monopoly on campus. 2. Tuition costs are ridiculous. Thank God for scholarships and grants, because taking this tuition cost on loans is terrifying.Andrey Kitsen
