A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. I say if you over 30 years like me this college is not for you. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. I took Acting & Gymnastics classes growing up as a kid @ KCC; along with taking other performing arts enrichment classes @ Brooklyn College also while growing up, although Brooklyn College wasn't affiliated with my high school like KCC was. KCC has a great campus for a CUNY two-year college (one of the nicest in the CUNY system being right on Manhattan Beach) and is also the partner CUNY institute with my High School alma mater, Edward R. Murrow whom it operates the CollegeNow! program with. I spent my Junior and Senior years at Murrow taking KCC college-level courses taught by both Murrow faculty, and visiting KCC faculty (at Murrow) as well as commuting to the KCC campus from Murrow for additional classes that could only be taught on-site @ the KCC campus. It was EXTREMELY academically enriching to be able to enjoy a college level curriculum whilst still being in High School; and that was due directly to KCC's collaboration with my high school. My GPA went up as a result of the CollegeNow! program during my last two years at Murrow as did my SAT scores. I have KCC to thank for that. 👍👏👏👏👏Ben Schaeffer

Kingsborough CC has a very nice entertainment program, well-run and well-sited, with both indoor and outdoor venues. This year's 4-part post-pandemic return to their July outdoor series has been a real winner for the 3 weeks of it so far, with decent weather enhancing the winning combination. Performers have commented on how well-received they are when they come to perform there, from an enthusiastic staff that really respects their art, to receptive audiences. That reputation has allowed audiences to see a number of top-notch acts more than once there, as the artists appreciate that respectful treatment. There have been other events there, all of which were interrupted by COVID since it came around, so there will be needed time to get those back on track. There are cautionary protocols in place even now: those attending must provide proof of vaccination, with masks optional. Not sure of masking will or will not be required once the indoor events resume, but it certainly appears that the staff has kept up-to-date with everything necessary.N H Tanner

The only reason ppl go here and are willing to grossly pay for an education is the location. I went to school here and will say it is far overpriced for the education you are given. Some staff are great and really care about the education they are providing. Others just read off a powerpoint and have no interest except for a paycheck. Pace is expensive, doesn't help the students getting internships and when the students get one on their own, Pace takes the credit. After graduating, the students don't get a job. One of their alumni just got a good job and due to she owes money, they don't give her transcripts and are retaining her title. Is not possible for Pace to help when the students really need help? This is a good school. However, the quality is almost identical to the CUNY school I attended before coming here that costed significantly less. Additionally, the lack of diversity (granted, because of how this is a private school) is also lacking. I really can’t explain what I went through with the staff, so unprofessional and the attitude is horrible I always try to be as nice as possible but the way they treat people is awful. They literally screamed at my mom who does not speak any English for not having her vaccine card with her although she had picture of the vaccine but her phone was dead they yelled at her and did not try to help her enter the building at all. Once I came and approach them they was talking to me with awful attitude and yelling at me!!!!! although I respect the policy but they always could help in situation like this making everything 10X harder and unprofessional behaviour. One of its kinda school Historic place as it is more than 100 year old school CUNY’S most iconic campus so far As building is quite old, construction is going on still it’s worth taking a walk here Lush green gardens and beautiful library plus awesome walkways and old concert hall and other buildings. Library staff is too friendly and easy going and so is the library too They have open tables with solar panels which is awesome Lots of environmental hazards are there which can be dangerous. As F-1 visa international student, I would say that ASA College is a great place for our educational and career goals. Professors are responsive and very collaborative as well as helpful. During my education in ASA College I was able to make friends with students from different parts of world. The most of them are my lifetime friends now. Classes are not too big. Therefore, providing a tremendous opportunity to study and excel your knowledge and/or skills. I would recommend international students to study in ASA College if they want to be ready to compete within existing job market and get a job they are looking for. ASA College gave me the opportunity to get my first degree in Medical Assisting in the USA, and also to gain useful experience through work in the admission office. The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. edit, update: ended up coming to the conclusion that because all of this uncertanty and my bad living situation I am dropping out, I did all I could, was not met halfway by anone but professors unless I begged here. do not go here if you're poor. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. Very diverse. You can see all kind of people over here. Most of the students and staff are friendly. Environment is good. Friendly neighborhood. If you are hungry, you can find all types of food around the building. It has 26000 student. It also has a big cafeteria, big library, big quiet study place for study and a lot more . Wish I could review higher but am absolutely shocked at the lack of support this school gives to their alumni. My daughter graduated with her masters. Her last class was August 10, 2019. Columbia did not provide her with her transcript for her to apply for her license for over 70 (SEVENTY) days! She was unable to even APPLY to take her licensing exam for 70 days, and actually longer because now the state she lives in has to process that paperwork! Nursing residency starts November 11. My daughter is still waiting for the paperwork to get processed so she can apply to take the licensing exam. She may not be able to become a nurse until after March 2020 – 7 months after taking her last class from this school. Absolutely ridiculous. Think twice before attending this school! We looked at a few other facilities on Staten Island for my mother-in-law and selected The Brielle after we met with Michele Barger, the Executive Director. Michelle explained the services that are offered, gave us a tour, and answered all of our questions. We felt that the all inclusive pricing was best for our situation. Since moving my mother-in-law Judy in a few days ago, we have found that The Brielle staff is amazing. From the first visit, we knew this was the best place for my mother-in-law. Michelle immediately came out to greet us, made us feel comfortable and warm when my wife was a bit nervous about what to expect. We chatted with Michelle, had some laughs and learned that we had so many things in common. She is the best. Michelle, Danielle, and the rest f the staff helped navigate the admission process and went above and beyond to help us get Judy moved in, and complete the medical documentation with her doctor. We are grateful and appreciative of her and her staff. Over the last week we have met much of The Brielle staff and everyone is kind, friendly, helpful, happy and always willing to help with this big adjustment for Judy. The front desk folks are super patient and helpful, the aids are very caring, the nurses super professional, the maintenance staff is attentive to our needs, the kitchen staff are all so friendly and kind. My mother had to transfer out of the memory unit of the assisted living she was currently at. Feeling lost and now knowing what to do or where to go, I was referred to The Brielle and I just happen to call. Immediately I was provided with the information needed and they worked with me to make sure my mother's needs were attended to. Within a week, The Brielle worked with my family and the previous assisted living to make sure my mom's transfer to The Brielle went smoothly for her. On the day my mother moved into The Brielle, the whole staff made sure to welcome my mom and make her feel at home. On my mom's first day, she participated with several activities, which I was informed on by the Family App they have. They took the time to text me thru the app to let me know what activities she attended and I also was able to ask questions, which they immediately answered. They even took a pic of my mom and that made me feel so at east knowing that my mom was having fun. The transfer of my mom from one facility to another was very stressful for me, since there are not many places that can provide you with the information you need. The Brielle took the time out to answer every question I had and they made this whole process very easy for me and especially for my mom. I would recommend The Brielle to anyone looking for a facility that will embrace your family member and make sure their needs are met. It's a very long story, so……The bottom line: I needed to get Mom out of rehab, and Mom could not go home. I toured the Brielle with my my wife prior to letting Mom know the plan. My wife and I fell in love with it immediately. Michelle has been my life line and I can not thank her enough for her caring and patience. The level of care is wonderful, I feel very confidant that Mom is being cared for and supervised all day round. I have come to know several employees and I am very impressed with them all. My calls to the facility are answered promptly and professionally. All my concerns have been addressed. Fact is even if Mom could go home she truly would have no quality of life at home, she could not come and go, she would not be cared for other than a 24 hour nurse that I would provide. Here at the Brielle she is stimulated, she is entertained, she is given the opportunity to mingle with her peers, she is able to participate in numerous activities, she has the option to go out on day trips to stores or out to lunch, she can even go out to church. "This company appears to be a scam. I registered yesterday, paid through their website, was sent course material for two courses, studied for over 6 hours, took the exam, and was sent CEU certificates. A day AFTER doing the above, I was sent an email and a refund, saying they are not accepting new orders??? AFTER I studied. AFTER I took the tests! AFTER I got my certificates! My emails were answered with a phone call with Barbara, who could not understand my complaint of my wasted time, interrupted me numerous times, and refused to give me information about the owner of this company which was requested a half dozen times. She was rude and completely disinterested. Do not do business with them. I will be reporting them to my state board and NASW. In 30 years of professional practice, I have never encountered a situation like this. Why would a business supply material, allow you do take their course, send you a certificate, and cancel your order after the work is completed?? And why can't they remedy the situation after learning of it??There are many other legitimate CEU online courses where your time is respected and you earn certificates that actually count. I have made several attempts to reach someone at Workshop Express regarding my first and last name not appearing in the Certificate Information box. I followed the instructions and made sure that all information was accurate, as any incorrect information would hinder my proof of certification and quiz results being uploaded to my TEACH account. After 9/11, my husband took a leave from his NEW airline job to become a contractor for the Army to fly surveillance to help keep our troops safe. He did 1 tour in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan. All, while I ran a non-profit animal rescue at home and kept vigil for him and our brave soldiers. Over the years I have run in the T2T events in my town and support other veteran owned companies. I called about a glitch in my monthly donation billing and had the best customer service ever! Susan answered on the first ring – unheard of! She was warm, friendly and efficient. It took all of maybe two minutes – no transferring the call around or being put on hold – again unheard of! I support Tunnel to Towers in gratefulness to our military, firefighters and first responders. My son is a Marine veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan. Esplanade is a very nice senior living home. The rooms are very large with kitchens. Many daily activities to keep the guests out of their rooms and to stay active. There are only 2 common complaints that I hear. The place is a little more expensive than other seniors living homes but Esplanade is luxury. The other complaint is the food. Not the greatest in the world. Everyone I speak to there loves living there dispite the common complaints.Anthony Gambino

The school has zero organization. It is a hassle to communicate with people who work here. I was going to apply but if they are not organized in the admissions department, which is like the sales department, they won't be organized once you are a student. My experience: after multiple mails and not getting solid answers, Karina Isoton, told me to visit her in her office at the Manhattan campus. I showed up and was surprised when the clerk told me that Karina doesn't work Fridays and she was not in today. I showed her my whole email conversation where Karina literally told me to come today before 3pm. She was not helpful at all. I love ASA. The teachers are amazing. I'm 53 years old, math was a big issue for me. But professor Lutfun was very helpful and had a lot of patience with me. All the staff and teachers are Amazing. The worst college I’ve ever studied as an international student because of the International Student Office, very unprofessional DSO-s(especially Heiry Quezada) who can lie, discriminate and even terminate your active status if you decide to transfer to another school!!! I thought that by getting in all of the required documents, applying before the priority deadline, and making several trips to the school over the span of six months to make sure that I would be good to go for the Spring semester of 2019 was enough, but apparently it wasn't. Every department is completely flawed. I've received the wrong information from admissions about what tests I needed to take prior to enrollment and have submitted e-mails that did not get a response. The financial aid office does not answer their phone or call back in response to voicemail messages. The academic coach that I was assigned to never called me to schedule an appointment even though she sent me an e-mail asking for my phone number so that she would contact me. I was notified of the day and time of the orientation that they wanted me to attend with only a 24 hour notice. The academic advisor who assisted me once advised me to enroll in classes that were not in alignment with my desired degree track at all. This administration is horribly unorganized. Truthfully, it is full of a bunch of lazy individuals who think that they have made it big because they have a sit down office job. I am disgusted with my overall experience with Hostos Community College and I plan to submit a formal complaint and pursue my education elsewhere.Flora

I give this college 5 stars. Not only because it’s close to home for me but I also attended it when I was taking classes to obtain my GED and the classes were flexible, I was able to take my daughter with me one day when she didn’t have class and the professor did not have a problem with it. QCC is not a bad Community College (in my personal opinion) and even though I did experience some issue with some professors, It was water under the bridge for me afterwards. The QCC Campus give out a positive vibe when I walk through it. The staff the I experience have always been very helpful to me t some extended. QCC has option about buying food. QCC also has a tutoring and a writing center to help students. The School Safety Dept. is really committed to keep student safe. Personally, The only thing that I did not enjoy was the library and lounge area, It can very difficult to study due to the students "partying" or acting as it some social club by blasting loud music and leaving food on the tables after said student leaves and no staff member or school safety officer enforce it. Basically there is TOO MUCH freedom in the library, hence having a hard time studying in the library. My First Spring 2017 and Summer Semester 2017: I recently finished my first semester back in May (Spring 2017). It was a great semester. My professor were the best. I also did a crash math course for 5 weeks during July and passed it. The math professor I had was awesome and extremely helpful. I will update when I finish my Fall semester of 2017. Update 2017 No .1: So I recently applied for the ASAP program where I accept at first but I was then denied later on because I was target as financial risk to their program for certain reasons. They said that they hopeful give me leverage if I was to take a remedial course if I passed (which I did with a “B” letter grade) but in the day nobody from asap kept their word hence I was still revoked acceptance from the ASAP program. I did fight but nor Student affair or the Dean of QCC want to give my fair justice. They pretty much brushed me aside. Which shows that some of the campus officials have no form of integrity nor honor and is a huge contraction to it own policies. QCC is kind of hypocrites to there Zero Tolerance Police, they take more of a passives approach instead of being aggressive. Fall 2017 Semester: I just finished my Fall semester of 2017 and beside having to drop a couple of class because whatever issue I had with my two professors; but in the end my semester of Fall 2017 was okay. I still haven't been given the fair justice by any of QCC officials and I’m still brushed aside with my issue I had with the ASAP Program. Which again shows that they have no form of integrity nor honor and is a huge contraction to it own policies. Fall 2020 Semester: So after a while of being absent from QCC, I had a very successful semester with grades this year. Even though I already know and the Zoom classes, it was very new to me but none the less I learned and overcome it, I had very awesome Professor's!!! They were helpful to me during the Fall Semester of 2020. Fall 2020 was very successful to me in QCC General Overall Update July 2022: I had a very successful semester with excellent grades each semsters. My only issue(s) would be is the whole college bureaucracy. The bureaucracy at QCC has been very stressful for me espeacially given that I am chronically ill and it really effects with my mental health beyond measure. Depending on the classes, some of the Professors incorpated/entrapped there political opinions /ideas/agendas in there assignments/teachings, which was very messed up becuase I felt like they were looking to see or root out on who is/was "racist ", prejudiced" or a SWJ(social warrior justice) The same goes for the whole campus. Joining Queensborough Community College was an amazing experience. Most of my classes were less than 40 students meaning that the teachers actually got a chance to know who you are. The teachers are absolutely dedicated to empowering you to become a professional. I graduated in Liberal Arts with a focus in psychology and the psychology professors were great. The campus is kept clean, the bathrooms were also in pretty good condition. Food was not the best, wouldn't necessarily recommend getting lunch there. This college is not that bad tbh, you dont have to listen to other people that keep on saying CC is bad. When I first attended in QCC, I thought the same thing as people think that CC is for bad people. and then later, I realized the students and professors are all friendly, they have tutors to help you to make sure you understand. And frankly, we definitely have some bad professors in the college that you should be careful. not just QCC or other CCs, I definitely thought other 4 years college or private colleges/ universities also have bad professorsxXx xXx

The college it self is very huge and clean I like there because the air is so pure, everything looks nice. Even in my posted picture you can make a conclusion that everything is okay outside and inside of the campus. I graduated from Riverdale Country School in 2011 and attended BCC from 2012 to 2014 after taking a gap year. This is the most beautiful of all the CUNY campuses. I earned my AAS in Education. My college back in the day. CUNY tuition is still great compared to private university choices. Offering two year degrees that can Transfer to bachelor's degree within the CUNY system or SUNY. The entrance gate is different from the employees gate. It is such an amazing place just to go and sit outside the campus. I really enjoyed the community and the view with birds singing on tree. Oh by the way, i only delivered there and never studied there , but with such a beautiful place i bet that students are enjoying being in such a perfect campus!!!!Johnny Estephan

The teachers and staff were rude and unhelpful, the students were unwelcoming and cold, and housing was disgusting and filled with asbestos. This school hurt me mentally and physically in so many ways, and I am so upset to have ever gone. Definitely Not worth the cost of tuition.Christina Gove

This place is an joke!!!! STAY AWAY!!! Most reviews are based on grades And etc. (Disclaimer: grades are still pending) Everyone here is clueless!!! Finacial aid doesn’t know what there doing!! Most of the time, you’re talking to students instead of professionals in this area. Professors don’t not encourage students and there is not a great support system. This school is profit focused and not student focused. They care about making money instead of putting the students needs first. I came here to complete prerequisites for a post-undergrad program, so I don’t qualify for financial aid grants. When the semester first started in January, I was told that I qualified for $1,600 in the loan that there is no interest, which was perfect! Then 2 days later I get a call from their main financial aid office in JC saying I no longer qualify! Like what the heck?!! 2 days?! My financial situation did not change drastically in 48hours! Then they changed the story around, stating I now only qualify for $1,000 in the loan with interest. I submitted all the right paper work in and was told that everything was in process and my request for this aid was accepted. Now its April( almost the end of the semester) and instead of paying my remaining $515 (including the aid) they are charging me $1506.00 (without the aid)!! First of all, I was never notified of this change. If it wasn’t that i logged into the portal, I would of thought everything was fine (as i was told) Not a single email or phone call!!! Second of all, my loan all of a sudden was not approved with no explanation. Now, they continue to give me the run around! Long story short, I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO THIS SCHOOL. TRY OTHER ALTERNATIVES BEFORE ATTENDING HERE!! DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!Miracle Felix

Watch out if you are placed in basic classes like English and Math or both. You guys better pass them. Note. basic classes are leveled so English has 0 1 2 3 then college 101prep meaning with lab. Math Has 2 basic math and basic algebra. Meaning is not a college course and Will not be doing anything with your major until you pass it. If you don’t get out of basic courses you are wasting your time and money. By the way basic course get expired. My math class got expired after 2 years. If you have a learning disability make sure there service work for you. Tutoring in this school for me at the North Hudson one hour is not enough and a few times the lady was a no show or was late so 1 hour wasted . Make sure financial aid is paying for your classes and go ask in person and ask when. Keep an eye on your schedule before you register make sure payments are payed and always make sure you have financial money to cover it because if not they will get dropped at the last minute. They will not tell you. follow up with ur school emails. Oh and most importantly financial aid has a maximum credit limit of 30 credits covering basic classes. If you go over the limit you will have to pay for it.Nedy 55

HCCC is my best decision to complete my higher education. The overall staff, administrators, professors, and students are great. Various resourceful and beneficial certificate and/or degree majors are offered—numerous transportation convenience to and from. My time there felt welcoming and like I belong. HCCC staff truly care for their students and provide a guided pathway throughout your journey to graduation. Although important, the patience, knowledgeable, and professionalism, although important, it was HCCC's charismatic, fun, and attentiveness that made it interesting for me. The campus is nice, it’s one of the few real campuses in nyc. The grounds are pretty extensive and you might have to run to get from one end of it to the other for class. For the most part the faculty are great, as in every college you might have some problems with a few. It is a community college after all. The tuition is probably one of the cheapest. They have a nice gym with a full sized Olympic pool,a track, baseball fields and soccer fields. They have a lot of parking lots but it fills up super fast because the majority of the students commute. There is always traffic jams getting in and leaving at high peak times. The cafeteria food is honestly terrible and greasy. Overall it’s a decent college.Ashley Roberts

This review is just for cleanliness: Computers in the library are not only slow but very sticky and covered with dust. I have been here for a year, and the same sticky stain on certain computers I have re-used still have them. Floors in classrooms, computer labs, and library aren't vacuum thoroughly. Very dusty surfaces everywhere, even on the LABS! Bathrooms are just soaked in bleach and wiped with the same rag…. Basically they spread the grime all over. Most sinks are leaking… Most female bathrooms don't have a sanitary compartment. Lots of water filters don't work, or water tastes bad…Brittany Stanton

I'm glad that I chose the College of Staten Island over all the other colleges. The campus is located in a very good neighborhood. The campus is monitored 24hrs by the public safety patrol officers and they are very friendly. There's ample amount of space for parking. This campus has a lot of great professors. Before you register check your professor with "ratemyprofessor" website. I personally study Biology and I am well prepared for the medical college thanks to the great professors (especially in the Biology department).Forever Charger
