Its been years since sitting in Dr. Kulo's class, and as he's retired, and I've gone on to an MBA and Doctorates, and been able to put them to pretty good use as a University Professor, I remember with GREAT fondness, my years at Salve coupled with the Newport experience. The people at Salve Regina are wonderful. They really care about how you grow as a student and a person. You also can't beat Newport as the campus is beautiful and very relaxing. The school was such a wonderful find to discover and I hope they continue to grow but remain the hidden gem they are!John Farrell

This school has a campus as gorgeous as it gets. Located in Newport, RI on the water, the views out onto the ocean are phenomenal. The school itself is a bit pricey however you definitely get what you pay for. You won't be disappointed with your college experience if you choose this school.Chris Rallo

To start off, the academics or classes you take are more like ones in high school you take. It doesn't make it interesting unless you are in a special major such as culinary, equine, robotics, or something of that nature. The culinary classes I was in were something. Definitely had ups and downs but it may not be worth it since some skills you learn may never be used again. Your grandmother can probably be a better instructor. Now the living situations, the dorms are alright. It is difficult to live with others since you want them to revolve around your schedule but you also have to revolve around theirs. I always had bad roommates. You know ones that stay up late (up till 2 in the morning), snore, drink, smoke weed in the room, etc. It is probably just me that I can't live with others. You can change rooms but there have been less and less dorm rooms over the years. The worst part is that when you pick your room, you are given a random time to schedule. Best bet is to have the least amount of roommates as possible and having a private bathroom in your room. Don't want to be sharing the bathrooms and showers with hundreds of other people (bring some sandals and/or slippers). The dining situation kind of blows. For a school known for a culinary program, you could cook something better. There are less dining halls than when I started. The only option for breakfast is Starbucks. Lunch and Dinner is okay. Two dining options include all you can eat which is great. The menu changes every meal but you will see the same menu items a few weeks later. Everything also closes early on the weekends. Obviously, you don't want to spend so much money on take-out and delivery so best bet is get your food from a dining hall before it closes. The meal plan can be managed. You got either 7, 10, 14, or 18 meals a week. Each plan comes with flex which is a certain amount of dollars you can spend at the dining halls if you don't want a full meal or something that isn't part of a meal swipe. I miss it!! 😭😭 Graduated Nov '19 (the last fall term with trimesters). Jwu really stands out with their career focus an all the networking opportunities via professional clubs and career fairs. There study abroad options are impressive! I was lucky enough to attend a semester at sea. Taking core courses that are taught by former industry professionals makes going to class sooo worth it. Stand out professors are Prof. Rhodes, Lavin, and Boker. 10 out of 10 experience / at times, i felt like it was worth the price tag just for them. Providence is such a cool vibe. It feels like a little slice of Boston… Without the traffic and big-city-feel nuisances. (This is also coming from somebody who thought that they did not like cities at all) On Thursdays, (also because most students don't have class on Fridays), the city will literally feel like it's coming alive. Great energy around here even though there's homeless people who consistently panhandle. (You'll get to know the familiar faces and they'll leave you alone- definitely not a deal breaker). I highly recommend getting your own apartment right away because it's outrageously priced otherwise. That is, unless you're on a full ride and room & board is covered. Although, one semester of on-campus housing is helpful in an effort to make friends. This is very cliche to reference the university mantra… but "pride, courage, character, and community" really do define what the school is. I'm very proud to be a wildcat for life and am forever grateful to have the connections I made there.Andy B

I think it’s crazy that local guides can give reviews when they know nothing about the experience of actually going to the college. Johnson & Wales was the worst choice I ever could have made in a college, which is really sad knowing I chose this school in honor of my grandfather who went here, and passed away right before getting to see me go to college. Professors are the only good part of the school. All the other workers who work in the offices, the actual people who run the school as a whole – a literal joke. The entire school is a joke. Student loans? Not worth it. This is a school that does not care about its students like it portrays that it does. You would think that this school being a “community college” they are more understanding of financial situations and are more efficient with financial aid an other “programs” they offer. Not this school! Not only does every single person in the financial aid office treat you just like another person asking for handouts but depending on what staff you run into behind the desk you might not even get the correct information! I went to the financial aid office yesterday due to the fact that I found out when trying to register for classes for spring 2018 that I was on a financial “probation” these people gave me NO NOTICE NO CALL NO NOTHING but that’s the least of my worry at this point. I go to their office the girl behind the desk had told me due to me getting a D in my math class last semester of 2017 financial aid was skeptical about covering classes for this upcoming semester so I would have to appeal( good thing I came a week before registRtion was over ) I appeal the form then I get a notice in the mail saying I’ve been only approved for 1 class this semester up to 6 credits. I was a little bothered, but I took it, I go down to finally register once again! Then I was told I didn’t have enough for books an technically they were only covering up to 3 credits an my class is 4 so I owe the school clerk a balance of $23.00 and now I’m also expected to pay for my text book. 6 days before class starts … what happened to the notice they sent me that said they cover up to six credits???? literally because I struggled in my math class last semester an got a D I’m going through all this torture as someone who is barely able to pay my own freaking bills at 20 an living by myself just trying to get my own education, every Semester it’s something else with this school the office people SUCK they are there for a job an that’s it. Then When you ask to speak to someone in charge of financial aide they torture you with hold for atleast a good 20 minutes on the phone ( probably praying for you to hang up) unless your willing to take 2 and three trips down to the office which is no problem probably for someone who doesn’t works full time.so now that the semester is getting ready to start an they feel like they did their part by covering the “majority” of my class (3 out of 4 credits, which my paper says they should cover up to 6 credits at least but whatever) I’m now expected to fend for myself an purchase a $200 text book within the next six days. Boy I can’t wait to be successful in my near future an to look back on the mistreatment an lack of support from this school an tell it to others as a learning experience an as a recommendation to never attend here just because of the thought of it being “cheaper” or “local” because u get what u paid for an these people’s attitude is just as cheap as the tuition they offer for a class an they lack what REAL schools have an that’s staff that cares about their students and the well being of others. An to make sure they give right answers these schools double triple quadruple check their work! If you attend TRCC as a freshman with no idea what your doing I suggest looking for support else where because this is not the school, they throw you in an don’t give a damn, not informative or helpful what so ever an definetly misleading . Always takes at least 3 visits to the school to ever get something rectified. Or a 20-30 min hold on the phone each time your trying to get the very little information that they are able to provide. Professors and fellow students are great but the administration and admissions process is a night mare. Little to no help to navigate threw the process. No one is willing to answer question. They always refer you to another person. Example: Me: Can you please tell me how I can access the wifi here? Advisor: You will have to contact a student advisor for that. Me: :/ Avoid online courses here. Professor did not make access easy. Not clear as to what material is needed. If professor isn't able to help you navigate course or they themselves aren't sure of what to do you will still be responsible for payment. Only time in my life I hired a professional service and they were unable to preform paid for task and I was still responsible for payment. And of course there is no one available to talk to about this and if there is no one knows who it is to refer you. If you do decide to take courses here try to make friends with other students that have already been threw the admissions/ administration nightmare. Don't take online. Don't expect assistance if you get lost along the way.Louis Maro

1: I registered for a class and dropped it a before week prior to it starting, boy was I in for a surprise bill. $120 for a class I didn’t even step foot in, let alone it didn’t even start when I dropped it. What a SCAM. Of course I had no choice but to pay it. So just be cautious when you’re registering for a class, because you cannot change you’re mind and not expect to pay a fee even if the class hasn’t begun. 2: If you’re “graduating” be sure to wait months for your actual diploma to be delivered. Very unorganized system they have going there. I graduated in may and have yet to receive any proof of it. My transcript is still not updated with my current degree and my diploma is who knows where. Sucks. 3. If you’re receiving financial aid and you’re registered for a class and the school decides they want to cancel it, be prepared to repay financial aid back.S G

Was a student of MTTI's Medical Coding Program that just graduated this passed June 2022. There were a few bumps in the road during the schooling but overall it is a very good school with active faculty members. Just wanted to review mainly to highlight Mrs Rocc. She is extremely empathetic and tries for every student that enters her classroom. The trick with her is if you are struggling or have a question LET HER KNOW. If she knows she will tell you or guide you depending on scenario. And if she doesn't, she will hands down be right there with you looking for an answer to help! She doesn't give up on students. And she genuinely cares. Even now she checks in on me to see how I'm doing in my career path! Also Shawn the Career coordinator. He is very good at what he does! He will guide you through the school year with resume prep, interview prep, job search, and still emails after you graduated to update you on employment opportunities. He responds back to questions and emails quickly and tries for the students of MTTI. Extremely professional and a great addition to the faculty at MTTI.Katrina C

I had a really great experience both teachers were awesome! I started off not knowing anything about bikes and by the end of the year I restored a whole bike in two months. The teachers were very patient and listened to me whenever I was having trouble. They helped me learn things step by step and went over everything multiple times to make sure everyone understood all the details. The class work and notes were very clear and they gave us a good amount of time to study before each test. The textbooks and shop assignments were very helpful and made everything a lot more clear. It helped me a lot learning in class then going into the shop and doing job sheets and being hands on. They always made sure everyone was on the same page and never rushed. I took the residential and commercial electrical course and came in as a no nothing and left as one of the top students, which I had never done before and I have to thank my instructor Rick and skills instructor Dennis for guiding me through this process. I couldn’t have done it without their knowledge and guiding and believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Going to a school in where you’re actually invested in what’s going on makes learning so much easier because you actually want to be there and are invested. I also want to thank Shawn for making the job search process a breeze and helping me find a quality career. All in all MTTI is a great school filled with hands on learning and instructors determined to see you succeed. Anyone considering enrolling should do so you won’t regret it.Dimitri Graca

I consider myself very familiar with the VA medical system. I've been in treatment from my injuries since my blast consistently since 2014. None of my past diagnosis mean a thing here.. The gastro department here refuses to talk to the neurology department. For someone who has a traumatic brain Injury this is very important. I've been in inpatient facilities and other hospitals where's it's taken years for specialists and doctors working together to come up with a diagnosis and plan. I then move here where a student gives me a diagnosis in minutes with a prescription.. Im almost bed ridden now and have to move to another VA because of it.. I've been treated unprofessionally by my case managers where I've brought up past records and been laughed at as if I was making things up. .. Just recently they can now see my records and after almost 4 years with my health in horrible decline I now have more problems than I came here with. The blame was placed again on me for not doing a proper transfer of care. They had months of advance notice because this wasn't my first time going to a new VA. Constant blame and no accountability. Even with my records now available I'm deeply disturbed by the fact I have rarely seen a real doctor here and just see students. This place may be great for your normal aging veterans but if you have serious injuries or anything to complicated I wish you the best. Some other better facilities include Pittsburgh VA and Richmonds Va where I have received top notch care. Good luckColton Carmen

I have had very mixed experiences here. Some amazing staff that listened and really wanted to help. Powerades abusive jerks who took pleasure in triggering a flash back. It's the usual mixed bag of garbage the VA gives you these days. They force the patients to wear masks under COVID protocols. They prevent patients from having companions while receiving care under COVID guidelines. But I did not see a single staff member wearing a mask nor a face mask nor taking any COVID preventive steps on themselves. They prevented my companion from joining me but did not offer me a sign language interpreter even when informed of my profound deafness and that my hearing aids were broken. Yet when I did not respond or I did not understand they ER staff on my second visit became very abusive and did everything they could to trigger a flashback so they could put me in the non-compliant category and get rid of me. if you are a combat veteran and if you have any other option don't go there .Melissa Sterry

Providence VA Hospital has got to be the worst healthcare system I've ever seen. They give you phone numbers that don't work. They lost my MRI scans twice – I had to go back to the imaging center twice to get them. But this is the worst: I've got cervical spine issues from previous surgeries. One day I had severe spasms, lost control of my car, climbed the curb and nearly hit a group of people. I called the VA as I was scared … a nurse called me back, I explained the problem and he said the doctor would call me back but no one ever did. I had to get my own primary care doctor and get a referral to a specialist outside of their system. I had asked for a new doctor and they said they'd send me the paperwork … they never did. If you value you life …. GO ELSEWHEREZud Pataillion

I’ve done CPR classes in the past and this class blows every other one out of the park. Gabe was very knowledgeable and made sure everyone understood the concepts before moving onto the next topic. In 11/2020 during the COVID restrictions my mother had an accident and was hospitalized and released/ transferred to Evergreen House for short term rehab. She was there around 3 months before her passing. This was difficult times for our family since we were not able to see her and she was a quad suffering from long term MS so communicating was a challenge. I want to publicly thank Evergreen and their whole team for the way they handled Mom's care and end of transition. From admission, to the constant communication with us, to improving our communication with Mom via ipads and video chats we were able to see her progress and communicate with her daily. As the restrictions lifted we fortunately were able to be allowed in to see her face to face as her health turned for the worst. Mom and our family felt she was surrounded by truly caring people.Chris Kinzie

I am 3000 miles away from this facility. My dad is there now. According to him. The staff, food ,physical therapy and accommodations, have surpassed his expectations. I would like to thank the staff for working with him and encouraging ,his own , strong will for him to get fit. They staff seems attentive and does things like launder clothing that are dropped off before being delivered to the patient. I am taking a wild guess that they are trying to not become another Covid nightmare. I do not know about the other stories that rate as 1 star. I have heard nothing derogatory from my eye witness. 4 Stars because he is still there for 4 more days, The staff is in his corner, attentive, helpful, encouraging and like I said, he thought that the food was rather good.Andrew Condon

The place is very nice, however it takes forever for someone to come in when my husband pushes the call button, especially when he is sitting in body waste , for what now has been 40 minutes , and it is not the first time this has happened.. Another issues is when they do come in and they turn around to leave when my husband still is asking a question, disrespectful! As a dimentia patient, outbursts and irritation is expected, and given they have a floor dedicated to these patients, they should know how to treat/handle them. The home experienced a fire, which was covered up and families were never clued into how, what or why this happened, and dimentia patients in particular were disrupted and moved across the state. Once brought back they were done so into different rooms and areas of the floor, creating confusion and irritability amongst the patients, including my father. The home blamed my father for some immediate outbursts post fire/being brought back (including him getting sick after eating dinner, and another resident walking into his room and his reacting) and forced him out, claiming because he was “stronger” and “younger” than others that he was deemed unsafe. This is AGEISM. In addition, on numerous occasions we discovered he was not being fed food items listed on his menu and going without. Finally, upon examination of doctors at the next facility he over at, we uncovered his feet/toenails were in extremely poor condition, callused and bleeding from being extremely overgrown and lack of attention. He was bandaged for weeks and could not walk and was forced into a wheelchair because of this. Unacceptable.Vanessa Sinnott

My father has been at this facility for over a year on the dementia unit, and I literally cannot say enough positive things about our/his experience here. It was a scary thing to place him in a nursing home, but from day one, the nurses, staff and social worker made the transition as easy for us as they could, and have continued their attention to the family on top of their care for my father. I have never experienced a negative aspect here, only very positive and caring experiences. The very caring nurses and staff go out of their way to make my father comfortable. They are obviously trained in dementia care because it shows. There is constant communication with our family, and during this pandemic and especially when we couldn't visit for four months, the nurses facetimed with us with the facility's tablets and will even pick up their own phones to connect with us when he's having a good moment. I rest easy knowing my dad is in such good care. I have so much gratitude for the nurses and staff, it is immeasurable.Ann Marie Lussier

my mother -in-law went her after a hospital stay. On entering the facility in the skilled nursing floor for rehabilitation it was wonderful and the care was wonderful. When the time came and she was put down on the first floor and became a permanent resident everything changed. The level of care went right down hill to a zero. My mother -in-law is 96 years old and can't see, hear and has cancer. When she started with dementia and needed extra care everything took a huge turn. The facility did blood work to see for any infections and said everything came back fine but it wasn't she was sent to Fatima hospital where of of the things the did was blood work and found the she has a UTI and sugar level is off. Not to say also there was a food issue that never got fixed, she was frightened by this placed. As of right now she is in Lady of Fatima lockdown unit due to all of this. Please think twice before putting a loved one in this place as it could make matters with your loved ones health matters worse.Marie Larocque

Avoid this for-profit school! Go to ANY other trade school.They canceled my student loans without my knowledge. I got pulled out of class several times in the beginning of my semester and was told to go to the bursars office, once I got there no one could tell me what was going on with my account and they told me to try the registrars office. Same thing, no one could tell me why I was getting pulled out of class or what was going on with my account. Everything looked fine they said. After about 3 weeks of that and getting zero info…I stopped getting pulled out of class and at the end of the semester I got a $5000+ bill. They've been suing me for it for the past 8 years. Everytime I've gone to court there's always atleast 10 other people there who had the same thing happen to them. Do yourself a favor and find an apprenticeship instead of wasting your money at this "school".Braeden M.

You wont get an engineering degree from here. You'll be a technician. You will never get an engineering degree from here. They don't have it on the website, you can look everywhere on it. There's no truth to the website. They overcharge you and don't teach you what youre paying for. For the price you pay, you should learn a lot more. I'm in my third term and have yet to do anything for my major. I had to wait three terms to be able to get A CLASS for my major. It's not worth it. I AM A STUDENT AND I AM TELLING YOU. I can not recommend enough not to go here. The administration is a joke, the amount of absolute asinine rules that are put on place make this place nearly unbearable. If you’re considering this school please put your money elsewhere. You’ll be charged $40,000 a year just to have a sub par education. Food is said to be good but is close to inedible. Internet speed gets slowed to a crawl on a daily basis. This place is beyond untransparent when it comes to any serious information that you need. Go somewhere else.Zander Knightick

My mom gets very good care and I feel like she’s safe. The staff is very kind and caring to her. However, her clothes are constantly lost, even though we ask the staff not to do her laundry. It’s very frustrating. We are constantly buying her new clothes only for them to be lost. It’s also frustrating that her Diamond engagement ring and wedding band have been lost. There has been an attempt to locate them but with no success. We couldn’t get them off of her fingers so they had to stay on when she was admitted. She also lost a gold cross necklace. We have told staff and management and they are sympathetic but it’s very sad and discouraging.Pat Mitchell

My Mother was a patient at Grandview center and I was very pleased with the care she received. The Nurses and staff always kept me updated on her care and progress. One of her CNA’s Lori I would especially like to thank, she was absolutely amazing with my mother and the care she provided was top notch. She was an Angel! Grandview has made the transition from independent living to nursing care absolutely seamless for both of my in-laws. The accommodations and care have been excellent and the entire staff should be commended for their dedicated service to all the residents there. Dr. Klufas (Medical Director) also leads the staff by example – always attentive, compassionate, and patient with everyone there. My mother was in for approximately one week . I had to take her home. She had to wait for some one to help her go to the bathroom, no one came light on for hrs. She wet herself because of this at 9:30 pm and no one came in until 8:30 am to clean her. The is an every day issue. There has been one nursing aid Tracy she has been wonderful. As for others I can’t say have not seen many and they don’t converse with you if you do. As for dinner/ food . Some of the food is covered some no covering parading down long hallways to patience rooms. This is not sanitary! The social worker Lisa Hassell and the other girl in her office has been top of the line a true asset to the facility. Helpful, kind and knowledgeable! Dan at the front desk extremely helpful and is such a breathe of fresh air when you walk in or your leaving . The speech therapist was wonderful also along with physical therapy . I just have issues with nursing aids ! I have asked for a commode for my mother and after a week still nothing. Also asked for her to be showered multiple times and nothing. They did not even offer to was her feet when getting washed in bed . She had same socks on for 3 days. Until I notice and changed them myself. There is a lot of good to say about elmhurst but there are some major issues with one on one care. Also one last thing building is extremely clean …. Just wish they could give some better care for the elderly .Gina Salisbury

This review is based on my family's experience with the nursing home/memory care unit. I cant speak on the rehab department. My grandfather was transferred there from the hospital. When I visited he always seemed concerned about money kept saying they keep threatening to kick him out if he didn't pay. I ignored it thinking it was memory issue until I visited and he got a visit from financial office asking if I knew anything about his finances even though his health insurance was covering it. A few weeks later I took my 3 month old son to meet his great geandfather just to find he wasnt there. When I asked they did not tell me which I respected and understood. All they said was he was transferred out 5 days prior. So I called my mom for info since she was power of attorney and health care proxy and she didnt know anything other and took her 2 days to get info and found out he has been in an ER waiting for a room that whole time. When she got to the hospital she found bruises on him which she asked Elmhurst about to which they replied he had a fall which wasn't brought to her attention either. Also the staff on the unit was unfriendly every time I visited. If you are looking for a nursing home/memory care for you're loved one, please dont send them here.Matt Desrosiers

Today was a day in the books it was day 4 of temp issues. The air conditioning has been blowing continuously on top of our heads in the classroom causing myself to get sick triggers my sinus issues in addition to outdoor temperatures not exceeding 58 degrees. When addressed to correct personnel today at day 4 after going to instructors thursday and friday nothing was expressed or resolved concretely. Today [Tuesday] the issue was addressed, however the attendance clerk interrupted the Director of Nursing program while on an alleged conference call; although in font of witnesses I asked her to have Ms Amanda speak with me when she was finish and what class I was in. Ms Amanda barged into our classroom, interrupting our lecture like an angry tyrant yelling about thermostat issues, as if comfortable learning conditions weren't warranted. I was trying to explain but of course she wanted to exit the class and I followed as she asked. We get to the office and before i can say anything she turns to me and begins to spew off at me, I say woah woah woah relax! I was offended by her disposition, I am a student trying to learn and there are obstacles hindering me with distractions of temperatures being set at 40degrees. It was then expressed to me lies because she wasn't aware I had already taken steps of chain of command before addressing the issue. She was very dismissive and condescending and although I had layers of clothing on already, I asked why they couldn't inform us of the misfunctioning of thermostat issues. Amanda states she "doesnt have the time with all the other things she has to do" instead of properly informing students who pay tuition MONTHLY of the inclement temperature within the learning environment. I was assertive in my rebuttal and state "isn't that your job" but of course that makes her angry, and in retaliation she threatens to reprimand me with a verbal warning, then proceeded to dismiss me to class pointing her finger like i was her adolescent child (excuse me) I'm perplexed as to who cares about the students, as we are being taught by so called nurses who obviously lack training in higher education and it shows. Allow Amanda didnt have time to properly inform us of the civility of the happy medium of learning temperatures she had the time to be condescending as usual and make a mockery show us how our uniforms should be worn. For the life of me, it baffles me with what they have time for when they arent blowing smoke up your….TaySlick

I attended the Lincoln tech nursing program in Lincoln Rhode Island. My experience there was alright. I did feel like a few of the mods I had to just read the book because in mod 2 we had a teacher start out teaching the mod and then someone else came and made the test and it was nothing we were taught. In mod 4 we had a teacher accept another job and she was supposed to finish out our mod she kept missing our classes and she would be teaching us chapters way in advanced we would be testing on chapters 10,12,15,16,17 and would be learning chapters 30-35. I can tell you this I did have some teachers that were amazing. Mrs Avelar was the best one she was there if I had any questions. I can also say when I decided to start pursuing my RN Melissa Gosset contacted me and asked me what I needed for her and offered to run through info with me. I graduated in December of 2019 shortly before the pandemic began. I never got to have a graduation ceremony we ended up with a cheap “virtual” graduation that just showed our name on a power point that someone read off of. I received a tassel for the wrong year in the mail. I never received my lantern. None of us were able to participate in the graduation yet they had one person who actually worked there participate. The final straw has been that NO ONE will accept their credits. I am not able to transfer anything over to any school accept another technical school. I want my Nurse practitioner and don’t wish to attend another technical school. When I met with admissions I was told they were accredited and that I would be able to transfer credits to other colleges and that is far from the truth. Funny I called corporate before I posted this review and had to leave a message and never received a call back. But after I posted it in google I receive a reply. Why because you had to explain why you are misleading? Still not being truthful!Rebecca Spencer

I am a post grad nursing student. I will say Lincoln Tech had a very solid, strict, and structured nursing program when I attended the school. Mary Ben who is no longer with Lincoln was a tough but great director or nursing students who ran a tight ship. I found the staff to be helpful during my time there. Now that I am a graduate I can’t believe how unhelpful this school is, I have called about info regarding LPN to RN program, received no help, I called requesting my transcript, was not assisted. What Lincoln tech doesn’t tell you as a nursing student is that majority schools will not accept Lincoln’s credits because there not actual credits for the classes that we worked so hard to pass, they are hours achieved in the classroom. Now that I am trying to do my RN I’m almost having to retake the entire nursing corse over which is devastating and frustrating to me. Don’t get me wrong becoming an LPN has changed my life for the better in so many ways an is still a very rewarding career. However, a few years into the field I now want to do more and it’s almost impossible due to the credential situation. Just be aware when choosing your nursing school, so you don’t run into the same problem I’m having. Other than that Lincoln tech was a good nursing program while I attended.larissa cirino

I have To commend the staff here, the amount of quality care and attention they give each patient even with all the challenges they have faced with Covid and the pandemic, and not so nice customers, they take everything in stride and produce quality outcomes. You can see each person from administration to housekeeping doing their best to keep folks happy and healthy when you walk into this facility. My aunt was recently discharged and we can’t say enough about how well she was treated . She left there stronger than she’s ever been and she’s absolutely thriving now . Like everyone else, i read reviews, and we read cherry hills before choosing them, and none of the bad ones were even remotely close to the great experience we had at this facility. The whole experience from start to finish was completely different from any nursing home we have ever had to place her in and for that we are grateful!Asha Mcneol

My mother was in this nursing home and had dementia. She was sent here after recovering from covid. They only allowed 1visit per patient per week & were not allowing me to visit at all per my siblings lies about me which they believed without question. I finally got in with the help of another agency and immediately noticed the lack of safety which I let the agency know. Within a matter of 3-4 weeks my mom was being sedated with high levels of morphine & they couldn’t even get her up for visits.The morphine increased in doses until she passed a few weeks later.Donna Hill

I cannot speak for the patient care. I can say that I applied for a position and had an interview scheduled with Amanda. I was in the lobby waiting and they cancelled my interview. I was given all excuses, but Amanda failed to reach out to me in advance to let me know the interview was cancelled. I was told I would get a call back to reschedule and never got one. I even reached out and gave her times I was available to meet. Still have heard nothing. Highly unprofessional. Apply elsewhere if you can.Marilyn Hall

I am beyond disgusted and disappointed with how this nursing home has handled a family member of mine. In general, the staff is very slow, inattentive and will take forever to get back to you. We had a family member come here from a nursing home in Warwick because my entire family lives in Johnston so we figured it would be much easier to visit her here. Our family member suffered from Dementia. She required close attention, as some may know, people with dementia tend to not be as alert or aware of changes with their body or things happening. Once Covid happened we were no longer allowed to see this family member. Of course understanding that this was because the elderly is at much high risk, we were ok with this. Unfortunately, this also meant that no one would be able to see her a couple times a week as we usually would. Knowing this, we still thought that the nursing home would still be watching and taking care of this family member. About two to three weeks ago, we received a call saying that our family member was not breathing well so they were going to send her to the hospital. She tested negative for Covid so they continued to run many more tests on her to find out what was wrong. Turns out she had a UTI that the nursing home did not catch right away and it was causing her kidneys to fail and her lungs were collapsed. We were devastated. A week or so after, the doctor calls and says she’s in her final days so we brought her home to peacefully pass with us. Morgan nursing home called my sister to ask about the family member and my sister told them that she had actually passed. The nursing home staff said “I’m sorry for your loss. Please take your time in coming to collect her things.” That being said, it sounded like all of our family members belongings were still going to be in her room or at least in the building. Earlier today, my sister and her husband went to the nursing home to pick up our dead family members belongings and they had all of her belongings outside NEXT TO THE DUMPSTER. I am beyond disgusted with how this nursing home has handled my family’s health along with her things. Imagine going to pick up your recently dead family members belongings and finding it all outside on the curb next to the trash? Any normal human being would be equally infuriated. This is NOT ok. So basically, if you love your family member – DO NOT SEND THEM TO THIS NURSING HOME. They will mishandle your family member and god forbid they pass, they will treat it as a number to clear out the room quickly.Deborah F

To the Owner; Long wait times to reach floors very common. It is also not unusual to leave a message in the morning and wait until the end of the day for a return call. Case in point. I received a call on 10/5 at 10 pm informing me that head lice were found in my mother's hair. I called the next day to ask what was being done for my mother and also find out if this involved more residents and the plan of action. I received an earful of "I don't know and I can't tell you" and was transferred to the nursing supervisor. I left a message to be called back. I was called back around 2:30 and given the same response and hung up on. It is not appreciated when you do not accept the answer and challenge it. A message was left for the the administrator to call me on 10/6. I waited until around 4:00 and did not receive any call so i decided to work in the yard. When I came in there was a message from the administrator. I called back and was told he had left for day and would let him know that I had called. That was on 10/6! Still no call as of today, 10/14. I guess this is the standard operating procedure! Since it did not seem to important to contact me, you might be willing to speak to me. If you need my contact information just leave a message with your administrator, he will probably call you right back! Don UPDATE: As of 11/26 there has still been no attempt to contact me about this matter. It must be a simple miscommunication issue! DonDonald Kilduff

Zero stars was not an option. My disabled veteran husband was brought here after a month long hospital stay for his heart. He is also a kidney transplant recipient. He needed rehab to gain his strength back. Morgan did not have his medication for when needed which is NEVER ACCEPTABLE. He was not mobile yet told to "wash himself". The food was less than adequate. (A boiled egg and plain donut). I, as his wife, wanted to see him. I left 4 messages for Eva his Social Worker. She never called me back but instead attempted to contact his 83 yr old father. My husband is in a normal state of mind. Not once did the social worker check with him about family contact. Not until I became upset on my 5th call did a different social worker schedule a visit. This all happened in less than 24 hours. When I arrived, the facility knew he wanted to leave due to not feeling safe. The only therapy he got was a walk down the hall. He was left to fend for himself in his room. It took more than an hour for them to release his belongings as they continued to call his father asking "what can we do to make him stay?" His father advised "he wants out". I then needed to say I would be calling the Johnston police if they did not bring us his belongings. Unfortunately, the lack of compassion and interaction with family damage was done. If you ever have a need for professional care, this is definitely not the place. I cannot even give one star….please don’t send your loved ones to Briarcliff. The staff is not friendly and don’t realize this is home for some patients. No one seems to be able to answer any questions. They say we don’t no. I will find out… they never get back to you.. the so called doctor on staff, whoever he or she is, doesn’t visit the patients. My loved one never saw a doctor the 3 months they were there. We couldn’t wait to get them out. The place is not sanitary , although they make you take a Covid test to go visit. Awful, awful and disgusting place….. they treated my loved one like they had dementia…kept telling them different stories and lies… Yes Iam angry because my loved one spent 3 months mostly stuck in a room. A room that was not pleasant, no pictures, no place to display cards or flowers or anything someone may want with them. I even had to ask them to change the ripped blanket on the bed. This facility is only thinking about $$$$$$$$$ from Medicare. They will keep a patient as long as the $$$ comes in. Please don’t send a loved one there…. Check out all facilities and be sure to visit often.. this is no place to send our seniors for there last home, because it is nothing like a warm loving place. My heart aches for those that have no one looking out for them…. It is totally disgusting….so glad my loved one is home.. I had to put a star to post…..lol desperate place. Oh did I mention the food.. always served late. Older people don’t want to eat at 7 pm… always cold and not very nutritious.we brought our own in. Only bring old clothes you don’t care about because they loose them…. Very disorganized place. Sad our seniors are put through this….Cheryl Smith

I’m absolutely so grateful for the care my father has had while at Briaricliffe Manor! My father suffers from dementia and my family and I were so worried he wouldn’t get the loving care that he so deserves. After touring a few other places we are beyond thrilled with our choice for him to stay here and we know that this is the perfect place for him. The staff is amazing and the love they show each and every resident just melts my heart! The facility is so warm and welcoming and my father is just thriving here! This is the happiest we have seen him in months! Thank you so much for all you do and for making such a difference in our father’s life!Debbie Raskas

My Grandmother is currently staying at this facility. The nursing staff is fabulous !! They even allowed us to bring her dog inside for a visit. Her room is very clean, they serve large meals multiple times per day, have many areas to relax, and allow us to visit any time. I, however, can not say the same for some of the front desk office staff everyone must visit before entering. Upon our entrance today, I received atrocious service from Michelle Jordan who stated she was the Office Manager. My father and I both needed to take Covid tests to enter. Mind you, we have done this multiple times and it's no big deal to us. Michelle wanted my elderly combat wounded father to figure out how to test himself because she openly admitted she did not want to find a pair of gloves to wear in order to perform her job function in a medical establishment. I showed my frustration when she got rude with my father for not understanding. I then sat and waited for the results with my father in the lobby. I discuss with him how unprofessional this woman is in this type of establishment. We are coming to visit my sick 94 year old Grandmother. She then decided to open the window and berate me loudly because she was eavesdropping on the conversation between myself and my father. I then tell her she is unprofessional, and at this point she began pointing her finger at me. Then she had the nerve to walk to all of the offices around us and talk about us to other employees loudly in an effort for us to hear her doing so. If it were not for Michelle ruining our visit with our sick family member, I would give a five star rating. The staff helping my Grandmother really does go above and beyond, and they do not deserve the lower rating due to the unprofessionalism of one person.Rachel Wayne

I am here for rehab. Spinal Injury motorcycle accident I am 37 years. Well aware of my surroundings. The rehab I received was the bare minimum. They had no knowledge for spinal injury rehab. The lack of care from the POOL/ AGENCY NURSES and CNA is RIDICULOUSLY AWFUL Have not received received my medication on multiple occasions. The pool nurses would lie and mark it down as a REFUSAL. These 3rd world educated pool nurses and cna, can not comprehend a word what they are saying in English half the time. They can barley comprehend my responses there is a huge language barrier. BERKSHIRE Nursing STAFF on my floor is knowledgeable. If you love and care for your loved ones do not bring them to this facility. The facility takes in people from the street that are addicts. The food is always cold small portions no flavor at all. Have been in this facility for 9 months have not once consumed there food. It is unedible.Aminesh Patel

What an amazing place! I was very hesitant at first sending my loved one here from other prior nursing home experiences, but I only have amazing things to say about Berkshire Place. The nursing staff is always so welcoming and on top of my family members care. My loved one is on a lot of Lasix and they made sure she was always changed and dry.(past nursing home would leave her in a wet brief that would soak thru onto the wheelchair they would have her sit all day). Even the kitchen is so accommodating and I only have amazing things to say about their Rehab team. They are always so pleasant and engaging with the patients. I am so relieved that I sent my family member here knowing she’s is getting the best care possible.Tiago Costa

This review is strictly focused on the Brown University campus, and not the actual curriculum, because we have almost no shot of getting into the University. This campus is so historically gorgeous in architecture, location and layout, it really surrounds you. The capitol city of Providence is the background for the entire experience. Beautiful traditional architecture in the seemingly endless campus grounds, stately brown stone buildings, meticulous landscaping and wide-open green spaces. Thayer street is lively, and hosts a variety of small casual restaurants and cafes featuring cuisine from 3 continents (at least). Brown university- An amazing Ivy League school historical to the city of Providence. They have one the best architectures. Campus is super clean. Make a trip on the weekend when parking is easily available and if not then you should be able to find nearby the campus for $3-$15. They have around 7 public lots available for parking. I was lied to numerous times by admissions and was told false information. If I could rate them negative stars I would. The most unhelpful staff you could ever imagine. Don’t think you will get anywhere with any of them. I would rather eat a Jean jacket then have to deal with them. If you have an attitude and can’t seem to provide the proper support and help to the students don’t take the job. This place is a joke. I took intro to Sustainable and Green Energy Technologies and we had barely any homework the whole semester, then at the end he gives us 2 projects both 10 pages long. We learned nothing the whole semester so how are we supposed to make a project on solar panels. It was 50% of our grade but too late to drop the class. Some of the staff are good but some just don't answer emails and you're guessing the whole time about your grade.miley piedi

I took an EMT program a little while ago here and it was lousy. The textbook that my professor shoved down my throat was a waste of money cause everything was online but at least the college got their 500 bucks for that. And then there was the terrible program itself. Professor was whatever, the content was disorganized but hey… at least the college got a solid 2,000 bucks off of it. If cost were not a consideration, I can't see why anyone would go to RIC. RIC has gotten into the business of exploiting working/lower middle class "first generation" students, luring them with claims of you're-getting-an-Ivy-league-education-here-for-bottom-dollar. Many other reviewers here are students who over-idealize RIC because they don't know it any other way. As a four-year college, RIC consistently ranks at the BOTTOM of college rankings (not just US News, but Forbes and Wall Street Journal, too). And just look at the graduation rate of 51%. Everyone knows that students trying to put their way through school with two jobs often drop out, but is that the only factor? I doubt it. Look at the average RIC graduate's salary, it's less than $40,000 ten years after graduation! That’s the lowest of all four-year colleges in R.I. Indeed, you get what you pay for at RIC! Never mind this excuse, "our graduates take lower paid jobs as nurses, teachers, and social workers." Other schools, like Salve and URI, have grads entering those fields and their avg. salaries aren't so pitiful! Other than nursing (which does pay well these days), accounting, finance, social work, and the arts majors, most of the other 90 programs are a joke. Why? Sure, there are lazy pothead students, like everywhere else. Other students struggle academically, coming from low performing high schools. But the real problem is the faculty (I mean the tenured ones). Many faculty put little effort into teaching and being accessible to students. Instead, they claim they're too busy with their "research," as if they're "experts" working at a major public research institution (like UConn, Rutgers, or Michigan), where they'd rely on teaching assistants to help teach the class. What kind of research do they do? I really don't know, as you don't usually pick up The New York Times or The Atlantic and read: "according to a Rhode Island College study…" Many of these faculty are pompous, deadwood, liberal elites who use their taxpayer-funded ivory tower as a job for life as they thumb their noses at students. I graduated from RIC 15 years ago, though I took some courses there since and kept tabs on the place. So I'm comfortable saying: math, philosophy, and English depts. were especially bad. Most programs in communications are awful. Political science is very mixed, psychology seemed OK. But what about majoring in education, the biggest deal RIC has going? It got some awful ratings last year when the R.I. Dept. of Ed. did its review. A few School of Ed grad programs lost accreditation and undergrad ones were put on probation. Of course, after many years of bordering on dilapidated, I’m sure the campus is looking better every day, the question is: how it’s ever going to be paid for (the bond issue was only for Gaige, Craig Lee, and Fogarty’s nursing lab). Enrollment and donations were down by the time Carrioulo got the boot 2 years ago. Unfortunately, I don’t have much confidence in Sanchez, as all he seems to care about is the politically correct diversity agenda (when RIC doesn't exactly have a diversity problem with so many urban students attending). Regardless of their background, most students should just save their time (as it almost always takes well over 4 years to graduate from RIC) and money. The best alternatives (if you want an actual job after college) are the 2 year career and technical programs at CCRI or NE Tech. Or, just go to URI, which has a much better reputation (and still has in-state discounts).Bob Richard

It's a nice college, but do your research before you sign up for the professor! It's only my second semester and I had to change this review. Some things have changed, classes are getting better but it was mostly because I looked up the professors on that 'ratemyprofessor' website. Not all of them are bad people. There's a lot of DR. Prefixes in their name but I have yet to see the quality of work. Overall it's not too bad if like I said, you research the professor before you take the class.Joshua Correia

I graduated from RIC back in 2015 and am now attending graduate school. I have so many great memories and had such a great experience here. I had attended two other colleges while trying to decide on a career path and RIC finally felt like home. Great professors and classes. Small safe campus that’s easy to navigate while still being close enough to the city/things to do. I lived in New Hall and everything was new, spacious and updated. I recommend the school to everyone!Ashley Carr
