20 Best 2 Year Nursing Programs In Mission Viejo, CA (2022 Updated)

I am currently in the vet tech program( just finished term 1 and starting term 2) here are a few things I wish I knew about the program before I started. UPDATE!!! STRONGLY suggest getting your generals done else where!!! Almost done with term 2 and Looking back, the program would be soo much easier if you were just taking the vet core classes. Seriously.. if you are really thinking about going here fresh out of high school and think you are going to be fine with the work load you are in for a rude awakening.. just please take my advice and get your generals done somewhere else. You will actually enjoy your time here if you are just taking the vet core classes because the vet related classes and the generals work load at the same time is extremely stressful because again you will be taking roughly 20 credit hours( that’s general classes and vet core classes) AND the material is very rushed. -curriculum is extremely rushed -instructors are a hit or miss (3/5 instructors were really great and knew what they were talking about and we’re able to explain really well, other 2 did not know the material and did not know how to effectively teach/explain/ or answers any questions about the material they were teaching. Pretty much had to self teach in both classes) -the parking situation is a hot mess. Parking on campus is extremely limited and the street parking is a joke. -The remediation assignments (Student services assigns you an extra assignment on top of your homework in whatever class for being 15+ minutes late or missing the class or leaving 15+ minutes early ie. Handwritten 100 bullet points on the slides of the power point you missed. The instructor then has to sign off on it and you turn it into student services no later than 1 week of the absence/tardy) is extremely unnecessary and just adds more stress. -But all in all still a better program than any of the other schools I was looking into before I started the program. I’m still loving what I am learning about and the hands on labs are amazing. My classmates and I are extremely close and working together and helping each other study is a must to succeed in every class. If you do find yourself struggling there are so many resources the school provides to help you ie. free tutoring from a peer tutor, tutoring from your instructors per request via emailing them. Scheduling an appointment with the Student success coordinator (helps you plan your study schedule and helps with testing stragies). Just know this is a tough program because it’s rushed and you WILL be taking anywhere from 12-20 credits hours. ( this is decided based on if you have transfer credits from other colleges ie. math 1010, Biology1010, college writing, etc. I was taking 20 credit hours. I did not choose this, your schedule will be chosen for you by the school) and you will be eating, living and breathing veterinary medicine for the next 2 years. ( also I want to add that it is STRONGLY recommended that you DONT have a job. At least in 1st term. In orientation they go more in-depth about this. A lot of my classmates including myself quit our full/ part time jobs after 1 month in the program because it was too much) If this is something you think you can handle then it is definitely worth it!Kaitlyn Hart

This school has all the technology you could ever want, and provides a lot of support. I wish I could have afforded to go there. That’s the only downside, is the really high price. I should add, the price is high for a reason. They buy top of the line technology to teach their nurses and vet techs (those are the only things I’ve seen myself, and I am 100% sure they put the money into their other programs, too.) My current financial situation makes the school unaffordable, but the price is 100% worth it. I was going to make myself afford it until I was told about a deposit. I WAS shocked by the $400+ deposit they required during orientation (for the LVN program.) I wasn’t told about it except less than a week before orientation. There was really no iltime for me to prepare. My financial aid advisor, Vanessa, was AMAZING and tried everything to make the school more affordable. My academic advisor, Nikia, was the BEST. She really helped to make me feel comfortable and helped teach me more about the program.Jessica Laroche

The program I was in (vet tech) was great for the most part! However there was a lot of bumps in the 2 years and disorganization when I was there. Teachers were a hit or miss you could get a great one and would love that class, or you would get one you dreaded and never wanted to go to class. Being the first class to graduate from that program we didn't get all the amazing equipment that the students have now. This program over all is a great experience because when you are struggling or need help you can find teachers always doing tutor sessions or the LRC always is willing to help you learn things as well. they are doing the best they can to make sure things run smoothly from now on. I would recommend this course now because it seems like things will run smoother now that they learned from passed mistakes with my class.Allison Kunic

From my first experience there it is very overwhelming while it confusing to move through the campus and find were to go at first, once you visit continuously it becomes much easier. The scenery of Soka is amazing in the early mornings and at sunset. The place is flourished with all sorts of plants. The food is amazing and the Dorms are high ceilings and spacious. I love coming here every summer for music programs, the campus is very homey and super welcoming. The architecture is gorgeous, especially the performance hall and the fountain out in the front.Arianna Rodriguez

The emergency room doctor was awful-incompetent and non caring! My husband was brought in by ambulance as I believed he had suffered a stroke. The emergency room Dr. tried to tell me he got dizzy because he ripped off a bandaid – kinda like when someone sees blood and faints! I was speechless-I asked him if his father or wife had the same symptoms would he send them home and he said yes he would. I told him I wanted my husband to have an MRI first. He said “Well, you’ll be waiting all night. There’s a lot of other people waiting for an MRI.” He told us he’d give us a few minutes to decide. He came back to the room and I said “ the CDC guidelines post the symptoms of a stroke and my husband has all them! He then said “ok, you are staying the night then.” A few minutes later a wonderful Dr. came in and from there my husband was put in the progressive stroke care unit and everyone there was absolutely fabulous. I give them FIVE stars!! My husband did stroke in three parts of his brain- thank God, I didn’t take the “advice” of the emergency room doctor. My mother was seen last night in ED Mission Hospital. We had a terrible experience. The laboratory and Radiology ( X-RAY) turn around time is a disaster. As a Trauma hospital the Turn around time for laboratory test results must be available <45 minutes. It takes >4 hours to get all the results back. My mom was negative for COVID they didn’t even test RSV or Flu. She has fever for 2 days didn’t even test her for Lactate for possible Sepsis. At the end they test her for Flu. …omg its positive Flu A. Can’t you imagine it takes them > 4 hours to rule out FLU A ( the test takes only 20-30 minutes) all i hear from the receptionist is “ we are very busy” … are you guys out of Ratio? Hows your patient experience? I think your patient length of stay is Terrible. Should we discuss this with CDPH to check your hospital performance as a level 1 Trauma hospital?Randz R

The worst ER room I’ve been to and I’m from a higher population city. They misdiagnosed me until I demanded tests, were snarky that I was upset, down right rude, after the results of tests were severe they were apologetic. After being referred to a surgeon I was unable to see them because I was out of area, I returned with worsening symptoms, and everything on my sheet they gave me to return to ER if I was experiencing. In extreme pain with a worsening symptoms they left me in ER waiting room for over 6 hours. I left to be miserable at least in a bed. Awful management, they don't listen to women, barely give exam or run any tests. The nurse said his only job was to get me out of there. Do not go here your life depends on it! Oh when I got a room it had no bed- I was sat in a waiting room chair in an ER exam room with a cervical injury.Jackie Lenz

yesterday 7/27/2020 I officially graduated from Concorde college (MA PROGRAM) and all I can say is if you’re looking for a school to help you learn about the medical field Concorde is it. They have great teachers willing to help you as much as possible. They have a great computer lab, always open to help! The school is very well kept and cleaned! Staff also does little events here and there just to show appreciation to the students which I loved. The staff here are AMAZING! 2 staff I would really like to shout out are ARIANA HERTZ & MONICA CARLOS! Both of these woman helped me so much and went out their way to make sure i was doing great at Concorde. Security GEORGE was also such a great staff, he always would help as much as he can. But overall all staff is great, super helpful and super friendly. I felt so welcomed at Concorde as soon as I got there! So glad I came to this school because not only did I get an education but I made some wonderful friends here too. I LOVE CONCORDE💙! This review is overdue. But I wanted to wait until I had been working in my field a couple of years to review. I graduated in 2019 with my LVN, and I was able to obtain my license in January 2020. I was well prepared. Passed my nclex on the first try. But I studied and I followed the direction the instructors and staff recommended to get there. Sometimes it felt like they were dragging us through the ringer, when it came to assignments, tests, clinical etc. But it was well worth it. I started my job confident in all of the basic LVN skills. Vital signs, GT, wound care, interpersonal relationships etc. This school taught me so much about myself. If you are considering a career change; or a jump start to your career. I highly recommend. But don’t go here thinking it will be easy. You WILL have to put in the work. Also another tip, communication is key. If you don’t let the school know what’s going on, they won’t be able to help you.Chynna Hooper

Garden Grove Concorde is what you expect out of a school. I love this campus. I enrolled here in 2006 for the Respiratory Therapist program and graduated in 2008. During the program, they provided all the resources i needed to get through all my courses such as tutoring, 1 on 1 help, and most importantly the most friendliest, attentive staff from the front the front desk all the way to the top. i would like to mention someone who has help through my toughest times, Lynda Carlos. When i was having trouble with my application process she would go out of her way to help me. She was like this with every student and every one of my class mates love her. I want to thank the entire staff at Atria Del Sol in Mission Viejo. We moved my father in a year and a half ago after an extremely difficult year. Atria was exactly what he needed! He made friends and enjoyed lots of TLC which was greatly appreciated. He recovered so well that after a year and half, he decided to move into his own apartment! I could have never imaged he would regain all independence! During the pandemic, they kept all the residents safe and did everything they could to stay positive. It was a very challenging time for all of us, especially the seniors. I could not have asked for a better team to keep my dad safe. They kept him occupied, eating healthy, and offered so many activities on site, even when they couldn't leave their rooms. Reika was also so sweet and positive with all the residents. Finally when my dad could has elective surgery, Joanna and her team did a great job making sure he healed properly and quickly. The front desk staff was amazing and Nina was one of my dad's favorites. There were so many wonderfully kind staff, I cannot name them all. If you are looking for a caring staff that give just the right level of care in a beautiful facility and grounds, I highly recommend Atria!Kristine Nelson

We made the decision to place my mom here 5 months ago since she was no longer able to be alone and take care of herself and we work full time. I went to numerous places and Atria, by far was the best. The people have been fantastic to me and to her and I never have to worry about her because I always know she is in excellent hands. I visit her frequently and the ladies that work there always dote on her and make her feel special. If I am worried about her and need her to be checked on they do it promptly and communicate with me. She has settled in really well with the community and she is now more involved in activities and outings and I couldn't be more pleased. Before her husband passed, she would just sit in the house day after day and never go anywhere. Well, that's not the case now! Thank you from the bottom of my heart all you folks at Atria! We were looking for a short term care facility for my husband in between hospital stay and home. We looked into several facilities and chose this one mainly because of Jennifer who was the sales representative. Jeremiah answered all of our questions and was very helpful the entire stay . The transportation was great to my husband‘s dialysis three times a week and doctors appointments . Perry, the driver, was extremely nice and professional . Physical therapy was great, five days a week with very professional technicians. My Husband was very confident with Judee, Nicole and Kristy. They worked him hard to get him ready to go home . Our at home physical therapist couldn’t believe how well he was doing.This was our first experience with anything like this so we were a little apprehensive at first. However, everything was clean. The staff is professional and very thoughtful and respectful. Every visit I was greeted with a smile when I walked in. The Receptionists were very thorough to make sure that temperatures were taken and masks were worn. Covid rules were very strict which I appreciated. Thanks to all of you!❤️Cindi Shively

This review is a combined review from 4 of Helen’s former students. Let us tell you what to expect. Miss Helen is an RN who knows her stuff. She has a ton of knowledge to share and gives you in-depth analysis of how to properly care for residents. She can be stern at times, but it’s obvious she truly cares about her students. The class is fast passes so keep up, and make sure you study. I also recommend taking some time off work if possible. Take advantage of the time she gives you in class to practice the skills. We highly recommend signing up for her school. And if she offers you a bowl of her tasty soup, eat it all and clean and put away your dish 😉 It was a pleasure getting to know Helen and her students. Hellen School for CNA is truly the best school! I just graduated, along side with many others and and we all testified to have great times. We have lived at Reata Glen for six months and moving here was one of the best decisions we have ever made. One of us is in their 60’s and one the other is in their 70’s. We are very active, and our friends and family were questioning our decision to move into a continuing care community at this stage of our lives. We, however, had seen the benefits of a continuing care community when some thirty years ago one of our grandmothers moved into one. We watched her go through all the stages from independent living to hospice care, and we knew that this type of community offered the best way to age. You can enjoy many more activities and people than you would likely have in an independent retirement life, while having the security of knowing your future needs will be met. In fact, there are so many interesting activities and excursions here that we can’t come near doing even everything, that interests us. Reata Glen is a beautiful development with many options from 1-bedroom apartments to a few three-bedroom, stand-alone villas. All units are on a single level, which is great if you have or develop mobility issues. One of the best things about Reata Glen is the people. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. In the first few days after moving in, we had met many of our neighbors. People stopped by our house to introduce themselves, often bringing cookies or flowers. When you meet new people there is often an invitation to dinner, which is easy since we all have access to the restaurants here, and we each use our own food points – no worrying about splitting checks. Another great feature is the Residency Counselor, Christy, whose job is to help new people learn about all the services and activities, to answer questions and to assist if there are any problems. She was very helpful, and her enthusiasm helped make our transition easy. Each small group of units has an Area Rep who is the area representative to the Residents Counsel and who organizes monthly meetings, dinners and social activities. The Area Rep also helps new people settle in. There is a large staff to provide and manage the many services here, and they are uniformly friendly and helpful. Nancy, the marketing representative who assisted us as we made our decision to move here, was extremely patient and helpful. There were no high-pressure techniques, only an effort to understand what we wanted and to help us understand how Reata Glen could meet our needs. All the staff, from housekeeping and maintenance staff to the department heads and executive director have been friendly, caring, and professional. Until we moved in, we didn’t realize what a relief it would be not to have to worry about things like finding an electrician, buying and changing water filters and, probably most of all, cooking. The food here is very well prepared with a lot of variety. The pandemic had affected the structure of the dining facilities and has impacted the ability to maintain a full staff, but Reata Glen has made extraordinary efforts to keep the dining facilities open and to increase their take-out capacity. That approach is typical of the approach we have seen to the few problems that have arisen – don’t just patch the problem but try to find the best possible solution. We have always found that moving is always a difficult decision and a challenging process, especially as we get older, but we think that moving to Reata Glen has fulfilled our hopes and improved our lives.Webb Burns

When we were in our sixties and long-time empty-nesters, we sold our family home of forty years along with all the maintenance woes that went along with it and moved to Orange County into a “55 and Better” retirement community of 284 homes. We lived there happily for twelve years, at which time we heard of plans to build Reata Glen less than 10 miles away. After attending an introductory luncheon at the Talega Golf Club and learning what a CCRC was all about, we put down a refundable deposit. Although we enjoyed senior living our house had stairs and a large yard and we were now in our eighties. It was clear to us that Reata Glen was where we belonged. It would be approximately five years from ground-breaking to move-in giving us plenty of time to downsize and sell our home. We moved into Reata Glen on May 28, 2019. We were referred to as “pioneers” because we were one of the first to do so and we’ve never looked back. We picked a large sunny apartment on the ground floor and settled in free of all home-owning responsibilities. We have made countless friends and enjoy a plethora of activities and amenities available to us. A year after we moved in, a state-of-the-art medical center was completed adjacent to our clubhouse. The Orchards Medical Center offers Memory Care, Assisted Living and 24-hour Skilled Nursing Care so we have the peace of mind knowing that our long-term care is taken care of. We consider our move to this beautiful Life Plan Community as a gift to our six children. They will not have to physically care for us when the time comes, as we did our parents. We know we made the right decision when we chose Reata Glen. It is everything they said it would be…and more. We toured and researched various other communities and chose Reata Glen. Our surroundings are beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the residents are active and fun. It was a big decision but we have no regrets. We were overwhelmed with the move but were soon welcomed by neighbors, and greeted by our fabulous area rep Karen. Christy helped with the transition and all of the staff has been so helpful. There is so much to do here! There are many clubs and more casual gatherings, there are many beautiful areas ( inside and out) where we can relax, read, or write or visit. There is a well-appointed gym, the pool is always warm, and there are exercise classes, dance classes, and classes to address any physical needs. Reata Glen sits on a beautiful 60 acre campus. We were delighted when we saw out first deer grazing on the mountain! The weather has been lovely, with the breeze coming up from Dana Point via the San Juan Creek. It’s quite idyllic year round. And they feed us! Shawn and his staff prepare and serve lovely meals and always with smiles. Although we have a kitchen we do very little cooking…. No lists, prep, cooking, or cleaning! We use the microwave to make popcorn! We wanted to relocate to a place where we could live out our lives in comfort. We chose Reata Glen because it offers living arrangements across the continuum, of needs. If and when we need more there is Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, or Hospice available. In conclusion, this has been a big decision, but also a wise one.John Hendricks

My daughter took some lessons with fast track, However she was not quite ready to be away from mommy, so it didn’t work out for the time being, but since premier aquatics were so great with us I wanted to leave this feedback. The two instructors that she worked with were absolutely great and professional and knew exactly how to work with her. Trista, the tall sweet girl that was managing the pool was so understanding and helpful when my daughter was having her little challenge in the pool. I did have to take her Out of them program so I called customer service to see if they can work with us and spoke with Sami, she is absolutely wonderful and also very understanding so sweet and helpful. Leslie the manager and her assistant Noah They’re so rude and disrespectful and harmful to my kid My daughter is 8 years old and had swim classes at saddleback college And they told us it was at 3:30 When we went to the class it turned out to be at 3:00 pm The coach let my daughter in the water and the manager kicked my daughter out of the water she started crying and humiliated me and my kids infront of everyone And kicked us out I was so surprised with what she did. There is no communication whatsoever between the manager and the coach. The coach says something and the manager says something and I end up in the wrong. It’s been about a year since I’ve quit as a lifeguard for Premier. Looking back it wasn’t great, but it was good enough. The Laguna Woods morning shifts were pretty sweet, but when I worked at AVAC, I had an experience with a parent who clearly just wanted to pick a fight, very immature. But, hey it is what it is. The company itself was fairly well organized, because I knew when to work every time. I also liked picking up shifts. My relationships with the upper staff was 50/50, either I got along fine or I made a bad first impression on others when I didn’t mean to. Did I learn more about myself? Yes. I am shocked by all the positive reviews. Maybe it depends on the patient, but our experience has been vastly different. We have visited my father several times and the lack of attention to either him or us is in stark contrast the Kaiser hospital he was discharged from. For days, nobody would give us any updates on how he was doing. The first we would know of a problem with his breathing or awareness would be during our visit when we discovered it. At no point did anybody talk to us as we walked in and visited. Nobody checked in while we were there (making us wonder how long he just lays there alone). No case manager, nurse, or doctor, reached out to us after 4 days. When I would go to the nurses station to ask about him, they seem befuddled who I was talking about and would brusquely point me off to some other nurse or supervisor. When we were told (via a phone call on the first day) that they needed to speak with my mother about some paperwork, nobody came to see us visit after visit (we make an appointment and check in so they know we are there). After we finally walked over (2 visits later), they seemed confused what I was talking about, and then only after rifling around the chart (which I helpfully pointed out to them on their desk), they realized they needed a signed DNR (which seems important). They also didn't mention that we should bring him some clothes until after a few days we noticed him in a shirt that we way too small and uncomfortable. They mentioned the shirt was too small for him as well which prompted us to ask "Should we bring some clothes for him?". If they had made us aware of that we could have brought plenty on the first day. The doctor and case manager were both very good and responsive, however. All in all, while I'm sure it is difficult to care for and attend to so many patients, they seem disorganized and inattentive, both to the patient and to the family members.Robert Radu

DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO AVOID THIS PLACE. My father has unfortunately stayed at a handful of nursing homes now and Palm Terrace is the worst BY FAR. – My dad was left unattended against company policy in a bathroom and FELL while trying to get off the toilet himself and had to go to the ER. Traumatic experience for our entire family. – During the height of COVID the front desk was too lenient with letting maskless individuals enter – The rooms are TINY; patients are literally 2 ft away from each other – The food is HORRIBLE. We had to bring in food daily for my dad because he wouldn't eat anything there. My mother was taken to this facility after a fall, the bathroom was not very clean. I live out of state and whenever I called to find out how mom is doing I would not have returned calls. To make the long story short, after a month or so at this facility mom came out covid positive while the facility said she was treated for covid and is doing fine, and with a bad case of UTI which caused a horrible case of confusion for the next several weeks. Based on this experience I wouldn’t put my dog in this facility. I had to take my mom out and take her with me to where I live and she is still recovering 🙏Afifa Yusof

This is a wonderful Jewish Independent and Assisted living home for my mother. She recently moved here from another senior living setup which wasn't meeting her needs as she ages (she is 96). The warm and friendly staff really care about the residents. The residents themselves have a welcoming group that welcome in new people into the community. The cuisine is kosher and excellent. I used to feel like we had to go out to get a good meal when she was at her other living situation. Here, she really enjoys the food, so going out isn't really necessary. The food is fresh, healthy and served very nicely by courteous staff. There are different activities and they are varied enough to suit different tastes. My mother loves games and there are many opportunities to play. They also have a pool for aqua-aerobics. There is a lovely outside patio where there are barbeque grills and events held outside. There are several rooms where different activities take place and when walking through the lobby, straight ahead as you walk in is a sanctuary for Shabbat services and other Jewish services as well. They have their own rabbi. The apartments are nicely appointed with large closets in the one bedrooms. When moving, we noticed she really did not need to get rid of anything from her other smaller 1 bedroom apartment because this one was generous with a nice patio overlooking the garden. Other upstairs units have a balcony. This property in general is more than just a cut above the rest.Diane L

Heritage Pointe is an amazing independent and assisted living community. Our mother fought leaving her home in LA, but once moving to Heritage Pointe found that with the community assistance, her life was enhanced. She was able to participate once again in many things she loved. Mahjong, dances, lectures, outings, hair and nails and new friends. She even met old friends. She regained her independence to walk (with a walker) enjoyed the food and the care was awesome. She passed at 91 after living there for 4 years. I just revisited Heritage Pointe for my Dad. They have made beautiful upgrades to the facility and everything is running top notch. A special shout out to Georgie in admissions. She is so kind, caring and knowledgeable. Our family was very interested and visited this facilities. At the lobby we met a older tall Caucasian gentleman, Mike. He is extremely rude and did not have any professionalism and compassion to answer any of our questions. Irvine Valley College does not care about their students! The faculty and administration does not help their students. If there is ever a problem, they avoid the problem by sending it to another person, which never gets solved! Professors just tell you to either drop the class or deal with it. Affordable and clean local community College. Most professors and extremely knowledgeable and the front desk is always nice. The campus is basically spotless and everywhere is sanitized. Classes are slowing moving from online to in person by the end of this month. Professor are amazing at IVC since classes are ser than normal. There is a wide variety of student services. Took classes online during the pandemic. I was unsuccessful, because it was difficult to do online courses for me. Going to do in class courses and I'm very much motivated and realistic with the pros and cons of college. This school has turned into a dump-truck. I returned back after a few years hiatus in my education. Both classes used the McGraw Hill Connect book and online learning system. Such a huge failure for teachers and the education system as a whole. The algorithms are off and the system rarely addresses test/quiz materials. The teachers at the school are disengaged and offer little to enhance the cheap program they forced us to purchase. I can’t believe this is even a college accredited program anymore. This program not only risks students also becoming disenchanted with their education, it takes away from true educators’ value in the community college system.Kelly Roberts

The BEST satellite school EVER! This is a very good school to start your first two years then transfer to a university or school that specializes in your needs. My favorite teacher is Professor Farnsworth! He is horticulture 101 and more when I was there a few years ago. He never questioned my extra needs to record audio because of my disability and NEVER judged me. Super nice Professor yest still very professional. Recycling Center at Orange Coast College has always been the best place to take items, but I'm taking one star away today for the reason that one of their helpers was NOT wearing his mask correctly. He had the disposable paper mask on, with his nose uncovered, underneath his nose. Normally I'd say nothing and go on, but due to the awful fact that here in Orange County we've reached an astronomical amount of people with covid, but also hospitalized and in ICU as well. I was wearing my n95, but the majority of those working and those turning things in to be recycled were only wearing those paper thin disposable masks (which is very saddening) Be careful and safe out there 😬😷❤Karen Lindekugel

I came here to recycle stuff from time to time and they have better hours and rates for that than most recycling facilities. And they have people that are usually there that work really hard and help keep the lines moving along and there were always staff at the window when they were still open so you can leave with actual cash in hand and not just some silly piece of paper receipt. as a school I am not really sure how it is, I mostly just went for the recycling facility when I got the chance.Aurora

I am currently enrolled here at West Coast University and have no idea why there are such terrible reviews on here. So, in an effort to speak out against what seem to be biased reviews from people who flunked, I'm going to state my experience here and why I don't think West Coast is that bad of a school. The School: West Coast University is a school that is known to set the curve for the NCLEX as well as being accredited for many well known and small hospitals. I heard about West Coast through my family (who are all in the medical field, I should state) and have heard all the great/ terrible things, not only from them but from their coworkers who have been past students. In my experience, West Coast has been more organized than disorganized when it comes to their students. Each staff member has been more than friendly and have answered all my questions and concerns in a timely matter. In all actuality, they keep me on top of my student life at West Coast. West Coast also provides many services that are within arms reach of students; Services such as free tutoring, library services, career services, and financial services. Going into even more depth, I should mention that library services doesn't mean that West Coast has a full student library (because they don't ), but more of a library room with staff members willing to help out with how to properly organize your paper, any questions you may have in regards to academics, and a full database of scholarly websites and help with how to navigate through them. In regards to the career services they provide; Career services always sends me emails of job opportunities within the area in regards to my major, as well as provide help to me and other students on building my resume and linkin account. The financial advisors also help with different loans and scholarships, as well as questions regarding finances. (Because we all know West Coast isn't cheap but theres more on that in the Financial Section). While I mention the positive aspects about the school, there are concerns and complaints I have. The major complaint that I have about the school was the transfer of credits. I personally had taken IB and AP classes in high school, and took some college classes at a community college but some of my credits didn't transfer (mostly my IB). This is because West Coast didn't (and to my knowledge, still doesn't) recognize IB as college credit, even though it's an international college credit course. The credit for these IB classes could have saved me money and time here at West Coast, and while I did have an administrator explain to me why West Coast has yet to credit these classes where they are do, it was still an insufficient reason (for me) why they don't recognize it as such. The Classes: I am currently in my 4th GE (General Education) term here at school and I'm loving the experience. Each term is a 9 week class period with a 1 week break, and while it does seem that classes are "rushed", with time and dedication you still learn a lot and retain a good amount of information. I put the word rushed in quotations because for GE courses you meet about once a week for 9 weeks in a 3-5 hour class and it goes by quickly (I have a hard time believing that I'm in my 4th term already when it feels like I should still be in my 2nd). The only complaint that I have is that West Coast is moving on the "blended" learning, which means that instead of sitting in a class for 3-5+ hours, you spend some time online and only sit in class for about 3-4 hours. This seems very beneficial for classes like English but becomes very annoying for science classes such as Anatomy where theres a plethora of information to be learned and understood in 9 weeks. With blended learning in regards to science classes I've learned there are some benefits than saving time. The major benefit is that the teachers I've experienced in regards to science classes provide video lectures that can be played back at any time.Kirsten Ashley Santos

spent $60,000 dollars there for my daughter to get kicked out for failing 3 class's. Most of the students failed that last class. The appeal process is closed meeting. Staff was always hard to reach. They get there money is all they care about. My daughter never missed any days. For that kind off money i should have got more answers. Please don't send your kids there. They want around $700.00 a month to pay back the loans. West Coast is laughing all the way to the bank. I tried to contact staff always with no luck. Please take my advice and go some where else.
