Compare with ESL in Maryland, English online in Maryland 3 hours, the teacher in Maryland is wonderful and quality. But this school here is not good about teach quality. That is really bored & lose time for in the future. Teacher doesn’t care about the students, Teachers have no responsibility to students . Time teach is very short, special study online about 30 Minutes often, students person in person- 1 hour just study in app Burlingtonenglish, 1 hour do theirself by Burlingtonenglish at computer. No speaking, no listening, no reading, no other homework, no fix pronunciation even students speak wrong word. Finish class no test english, the class mix good english students with other low english students. I have been a student at SKYCTC since summer 2015 and I will receive my AA in the Spring 2017 and then transfer to another college to receive my Bachelors and then Masters. I have had the BEST experience attending this school. I am also a student worker and have had great opportunities with my job. The class sizes are smaller which make for better relationships with your professors, and there is all kind of resources available to students. If you are a self learning person who can Consume large amounts of information quickly then you will do fine in this nursing school! If you are not they will chew you up and spit you out and not even care, they will take your money and pays you out of the nursing program without so much as a single moment of help. The director of nursing will call you names and insult you and threaten you and the principal of the school when it was brought to her attention about the behavior of the director of nursing and the problems within the nursing department, and the bulling from the Nursing staff towards the students was insulting! The principal will laugh in your face and not even try to help you, but The principal, will take your suggestions on how to improve the nursing program for future students but as for you a current struggling student you will get absolutely no help even if you go to the staff every single week you will get absolutely no help and they will watch you fail out of nursing school and take your money. So if you cannot learn quickly and suffer from any kind of disability, do not waste your time and your money in this nursing program, because they will just destroy your soul and your life!Roy Scott

The only reason I am giving this school a 3 star rating is because of the teachers. Don't get me wrong every school has its problems but the majority of the teachers there are amazing. The problem with this school is anything and everything that has to do with the admissions building. It is full of nothing but student workers that don't know how to do their job. Trying to get an actual adult on the phone that actually works there for a living and not minimum wage is like pulling teeth. You will not get anything done by the deadlines they have because you will not be able to get any help from anyone. I wouldn't call about a problem you're having because you'll likely have to call back because you got an unhelpful response and have to make multiple calls back, go directly there and make a professional assist you or you will get no where.Beth Knight

I graduated in the Summer of 2018, and I wanted to say overall my experience with OCTC had been good and not very much complaint, but I do have to say that I do not appreciate the way they shipped my AA diploma, and I know others have complained about this too. They shipped it in a flimsy envelope as if the achievement didn't deserve a better way of shipping. The certificate was crinkled on the edges and was bent down the middle. Overall I was able to flatten it out and frame it and was okay, but the lack of respect to graduates on this is kind of sad on OCTC's part. Future reference please do not treat your graduates this way. I wouldn't mind having a new one reshipped to me properly this time, and if I do get one then I will give OCTC a better rating. I attended Sullivan for their culinary arts program and I have some insight for future students going into the program. First being, have an idea for what you're wanting to achieve in life. Culinary school is very expensive for what you get and there are other, more cost efficient ways to achieve your goals. I recommend working in the industry for at least two years before you decide to go to culinary school. You will find a lot of well-known chefs didn't graduate culinary school. Everything you are learning in school can be self taught or learned in the industry.The key to becoming a great chef is the understanding of the industry. I say this all because at Sullivan its just a matter of time before you're screwed over by financial aid. The entire department is very disorganized. Important papers of mine seemed to keep going missing in their hands making my life very stressful. Also if you plan on doing on campus housing just DON'T. I haven't had any problems with Sullivan. I have been here for about 6 months and after attending JCC and UofL I must say Sullivan has already given me a much better experience. JCC and UofL let me (at 18) pick a bunch of random classes that were way too hard and never got back to me about any issues, it took way too long to get in touch with anyone for meetings or questions and at Sullivan they are always a quick phone call or office visit away. Teachers seem to really care and take the time to call you on their off time to congratulate you on good test scores, inquire why you are missing class, or pull you aside in class if you are on the brink or failing or even on the brink of getting an "A". If you don't miss a lot of class there won't be any problems, and there are even students in my classes who are active duty and miss class a lot and teachers have been as accommodating as possible. I can honestly say that transferring to Sullivan University from the University of Louisville was one of the best decisions I ever made. Class sizes are small, so it's easy to ask questions and get help if you need it. The instructor's here aren't just trying to "push you through", they actually care that you learn the material. The food served in the cafeteria is great and all of the staff/personnel are super helpful and friendly. My only complaint however would be the financial planning office. Some of the advisers can be kind of rude and you have to constantly call/send e-mails just to get a response for an appointment, in my experience. It's best to just show-up in person and request a meeting. Other than that, I would highly recommend Sullivan University to potential students.Brea M

If you're looking for an education in the medical technologies field this is the place! It is a private college so prices will be a little higher than a university but you get what you pay for. I'm not sure the reason for the negative reviews. It is an accelerated study program on the quarter system and they have a zero tolerance absence policy which may have caused problems for some. My experience has been quite amazing! The student to teacher ratio is lower than you'll find anywhere. All of the instructors and staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. They'll almost bend over backwards to make sure you have every tool and opportunity you need to be successful. Also I have to mention the job placement rate they have after graduation. Look, this school like all other schools of higher education, has issues, and those issues are being worked out, worked out for the good of the school, which in turn benefits the students. You go to school to get a higher education, not to party. Working in the medical profession, you need to have your game face on not your clown face. The medical profession is no joke, this is serious, your dealing with peoples lives. This school does everything it can to get you prepared to handle the seriousness that comes with this profession, they even go as far as to help you help you find employment. The nursing program is unorganized and they just want your money. The dean is no help and is always on the side of the professors. Sometimes we don’t have any direction. Class times were all over the place. They don’t unlock blackboard until the Monday that classes start which makes it hard to plan your life. They tell us stuff last minute and expect us to comply. Months into the program they just now tell us we need to have updated immunization forms when they we’re supposed to keep track of them in the beginning. Do not waste your money. Love the small classes! & The Instructors are by far the most involved with every student and are dedicated to them as well. Very passionate in their teaching. All of the staff from ATA from Admissions and Financial Aid and Student Services are also very dedicated, helpful and GREAT! Last but not least The President! He is super uber Amazing! When I didn’t know what I would do after not getting into my hygiene program I instantly started looking into other options and Medquest can across my Facebook for different programs that could be completed in less than a year, and Boom! Started in May of this year in my Dental assisting program, The best decision of my life ! Joy and Desireé was my absolute favorite! they deserve a raise & praise! They made sure to go over the material again if we needed more time to learn it. I would highly recommend anyone who is wanting to make a change in their lives to find a program at the school and complete it, it’s manageable. I absolutely loved this school. I graduated in 2017 for Dental Assisting and I am now enrolled for the LPN July classes. The staff went over and beyond to accommodate me. I am extremely excited about my new journey. Update Alert!!!!!! If I could give 10 stars I would. Of course with any school you have a few bumps along the way, but I must say the Nursing experience has been amazing. The accountability and educational standards were are amazing. The instructors have taken their time to be sure that you understand what each class is about . Having teachers who are actively working in the nursing field, working in the School and going to school themselves gives you the push to never give up. I have 7 weeks till completion. It was not easy, financially nor mentally with 4 children and going through divorce, but when you walk in those doors you understand that you can accomplish ANYTHING because of the role models standing in front of you. I was down to the wire trying to find a CNA course to take for my Nursing Application. The classes had filled up quickly at JCTC and I was running out of time. I started searching the internet, scared I still wouldn't find anything or that what I would find would be extremely expensive or a complete headache to try and work my schedule around. I emailed Right Choice and right away they responded. Not only were they extremely helpful, but the class was so much cheaper!! They had options for class schedules which was great! I took a 5 week course, weekends only; all hybrid except for the last weekend which was held at the school. The schools location is very easy to assess with no parking restrictions and the best part, it's not located downtown. The staff were wonderful and there for help at any given time. I just needed the certification of completion of the course as I didn't need to take the state exam. They asked for my social security card. Before classes started I asked if a social security card was required just for certification of completion of the course. They said no it wasn't required if you just need certification of completion of the course. When classes started they asked for my social security card again, I would have refunded my money if I knew I had to give this much personal information just to take a class. Very unprofessional. The lectures in the class are a joke. Also some days they ended class early around noon, but signed us out at 4:30pm. I don't think medicaid would approve of this.John B

My daughter changed her mind on becoming a CNA the day before class was supposed to start due to becoming undecided after reading all of the job duties I assume 🤷🏽‍♀️ However even tho she did not end up attending I felt the need to share my review just in case someone else shares her same experience… The school understood that situations similar to hers happen and did not hesitate nor try to give me a hard time on refunding my down payment minus the registration fee! My parents are at Ponder Creek and my nephew and his boyfriend live with them. There apartment smells like cigarette smoke when ever you walk in. My nephew also deals drugs and comes and goes all hours of the night. I dont think it is a safe place for older folks to live.Marlin Davis

Husband had bilateral total knee replacement surgery. Prior to surgery I researched everything. In my extensive research I was referred to Nazareth for the rehab. I made sure our insurance paid for it and did a tour. After his surgery he was IPH 4 days then transferred to Nazareth. The staff was nothing short of amazing. We have made life long friends! He was inpatient for 19 days and he was a very "impatient inpatient patient!" The staff put up with his grumpiness & I was involved in all aspects of his care from daily needs being met, nutrition, medication, therapy etc. Never once did they make me feel overbearing, which I may have been, (but hey, we are talking about the love of my life here!). They listened when I had concerns about his PT not being challenging enough since he is only 54 and in the physical condition of a 30 year old man. So they enlisted what we called The Big Guns. There was change in the quality of care or concern whether I was dealing with the doctor or the facilities workers. They ALL were caring, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful & engaged. I actually asked one of the more senior staff how they find that many good employees. The employees said they loved working there and they were treated good by the company. That was good to know and it shows. I cannot say enough good things about this organization. It was so good that my husband is continuing he outpatient physical therapy there and we are happy with that as well! Highly recommend!stormy bubbles

My grandmother was a resident a few years ago in the rehab unit and my mother in law was also a resident of the rehab unit about 2 years before my grandmother . Both just loved the facility. They received excellent care. Myself and my family were very pleased. I am now an employee at Nazareth Home. I can say that I feel most proud to be a part of such an amazing team! Stay away from this school and do not do business with them if you value your time and money. They run this place like a business intended to scam students who are looking for a cheap education. You’re paying for a receipt, not an education. This is NOT an educational facility that values its pupils. They claim to prepare you for a 4 year college, they do not. It’s also important to know that Gateway community and technical College collects your personal information and sells it to other colleges, businesses, and telemarketers. Nearly every semester I had faculty who were unwilling to do the bare minimum of their job requirement. I have now been in a 2 1/2 month battle of trying to get a refund for a class that was not provided to me. The faculty here value money far more than they do the student and will do everything they can to deny you a refund or fair resolution. There are some quality faculty members with good intentions, but the vast majority of the faculty, especially the senior members, are rude, unfair, and lack compassion. They do not respond to emails and avoid contact at all costs. I know this school is tempting because of the cheaper cost, but save your time and money and look for alternatives. Though Gateway is a lot cheaper than normal colleges keep in mind you get what you pay for. I have not been to NKU but it is coming in the near future. I am enrolled in the Computer and Information Technology department. If you are expecting hands on training, forget it, as Gateway has little to no equipment to actually work with. They utilize TestOut program to teach the class online. The Networking instructor refuses to cover anything from TestOut. That not his job. I will not take any more classes with him at all. TestOut gives very limited info for what you need for the exams they have. Basically you fail the exam, expand all questions and answers, print it, and retake the test and 100% and have successfully learned nothing at all. One extremely good instructor and one I have for online class I can not comment on as I haven't had him for in person class. So when it comes to CIT I would take Network based classes at NKY or anywhere other than Gateway. Oh, and don't waste your time with the President as he has little to no care about the students thoughts. Only care he has is getting money in the door. It is bs though that for $700 + books & software, an instructor can say its not his job and thats OK. Its not OK with me.Jeff Alexander

Update: After discussing these issues with a representative and some cross communication my credits did finally transfer over 8 months after my original submission. Due to this I have raised my review from 2 to 3 stars. If I could some how go back in time and avoid going here I would. The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because of Professor Dee Wright. He was absolutely amazing. Other than him the whole place is a joke. Course work would not match up with course material. Blackboard homework would be broken and correct answers would show incorrect and vice versa. But what really drives the last nail into the coffin is that I was blatantly lied to. I was told all of my credits would carry over to the university I planned on attending. I went here for 1 semester and accrued 14 credits. 1 carried over. 1 credit for a full semester of my life. Absolute waste of my time. I put in 100% effort to pass with straight A's only to see other students getting handouts and having negative grades removed so that they could pass. My mom has been at Treyton Oak for the last ten years or so. My family is so thankful that she is in such a wonderful, caring environment. My mom is 100 years old and still lives in her own apartment. Covid has brought a lot of challenges, but TOT has handled the situation well and kept my mom safe. The employees like Ray, La Rita and many others are very friendly. The physical facility is beautiful and well kept. It’s not at all like a nursing home. These people are sick and recovering from sicknesses and when someone the minute she walks in shows her she doesn’t care whatsoever because she has “32” other patients to deal with, I mean goes to show you she is not passionate about her job when she isn’t the only nurse in the world and that’s why there are medical assistants, cnas and others working in such place. I hope you take this review seriously and this lady in which 2 of your other nurses or assistants witnessed what she said to my mother in law, I hope she doesn’t just get a slap on the wrist and goes on about her day. She needs to be properly trained on how to care for patients or she shouldn’t be a nurse period. Even on the longest days you should never of the bat make a patient feel unwelcome. Rehabilitation unit was top notch. CNA's were professional and efficient. Therapist were delightful and knowledgeable. Danielle a physical therapist was the best I ever had. I have been to rehab in a few states. She not only was very knowledgeable about physical therapy but she was not afraid to cross into occupational therapy if necessary. She assisted any way she could. She wanted you to reach all of your therapy goals. Sometimes she would arrange to have physical and occupational therapy together so you met your goals. Taylor my occupational therapist was happy to have oint therapy sessions to assist in me meeting my goals. I was there last years for a month, June 8, 2018, and I loved it, the Rehab was great, now there was a nurse that was very rude and I requested that she never be my nurses, unfortunately, there are bad employees that give employers a bad look. I can say, Mrs Jerri is the best, Roger my therapist, got on my nerves sometimes, because he was strict, no nonsense, which, was really good for me and my recovery. Some of the things I want to recognize during my stay was the bedside manner of the staff here at Kindred was caring, professional and sweet. The bedside manner are beyond reproach. I never waited long after calling for assistance. They always explained everything to me and communicated very well. Most of the nurses went above and always asked me if I needed anything before they left my room. A special recognition to Sarah, Sydney, Sary and Janice for always being extra kind and treated me like family. They are patient oriented! Joe, RN was my first nurse I met and really got me settled. I cant say thank you enough for helping me get settled. The Physical Therapy team are absolutely amazing especially Daniel. They take the fear out of doing an exercise for the first time. I got to Kindred for continued care after I had an accident. I don't really know what happened but since I have been at Kindred they have helped me physically and mentally. I am so appreciative of the wonderful nursing, medical and physical care I have received. Because of the speech therapy I was able to have my feeding tube removed and now I am eating independently. I have enjoyed working with the Rehab team which have made me stronger and got me walking again. The nurses, doctors and administration team have all been so nice and caring. My overall experience at Kindred has been 10 stars, from the cleanliness and kindness from the Housekeeper to the lady that takes my meal order. Everyone has been caring and kind. The weekly meetings are great and I like how they keep me informed throughout my stay. Now I am ready to get home and be with my family. Kindred Hospital Louisville has done an excellent job with my wounds. This place has my wounds better than any other place I have ever been. They keep them all changed and clean. I have been monitored very closely and it shows how skilled the team of healthcare workers are here at Kindred. My one wound is completely healed and the other two are almost completely healed. I am so grateful for the team work and caring staff who have cared for me. The nurses and doctors here have been really pleasant and they take the time to listen. They bend over backwards to care for you and treat me so nice. I couldn’t ask for nicer nurses. The cleaning ladies here do an exceptional job, that makes a whole lot of difference. I tried signing up for college through ECTC before and they were horrible. They didn't help me understand anything, they didn't ask how I'd like my classes or anything. With Somerset, I have been given help since day 1. I never attended at ECTC because I didn't know what to do or how to do classes online. Every staff at this school is helpful and they work with you. They make sure you understand your entire path and know what your next steps are. They help you learn how to navigate the entire website and how to take your classes. They are very helpful and I'm going into my second semester right now. I paid $700 (plus travel expense) out of pocket for the CNA class as it's required for the ADN application. Review Summary

In my experience, the majority of teachers were very unambitious. The one that had any amount of passion for his subject was extremely bigoted in his opinions and belief – the sort of man that can't compliment one thing without insulting another. One of the professors even went so far as to miscalculate the final grade for the course – this is the same IT teacher that ran a Blackboard jumbled with repeated grade listings and still maintained assignment listings from several years ago. Their test questions were almost entirely ripped from online study guides, but with purposefully altered wordings so as to make it hard to distinguish the question being posed. One would assume an IT professor would be more capable in utilizing technology than that. This is the quality one can expect from ECTC's professors, in my experience. The administrative side of things was much better. Frequently hosted student events, and many of them were very friendly to work with and eager to help. This is an amazing school. I am currently taking the Automotive Technology program and I have Mr. Poteet as my instructor. All of the automotive instructors are amazing as well. However, Mr. Poteet has taught me a ton. I went into this semester not knowing a single thing about a car other than it has tires and an engine that makes it drive. Now I know about all of the sensors, how to pull up data on a scan tool and so much more that i just cannot put all into this review. Sadly with all the benefits there is only 1 bad thing i can come up with. That is one of the English teachers, Professor Kennedy. He is very unorganized and just an overall bad indtructor. This minor detail should not outweigh the amazingness of the school. I couldn't ask for more from the instructors. Something I almost forgot was the president of the school. That guy is amazing and knows how to joke around but still get work done. All in all this is an amazing school that I would recommend to anyone looking to start there degree. Based upon Veterans services The college itself is a perfect transition between high school and college or if you are just getting back into school. The veterans service department is one of the worst I have ever had to deal with. I have dealt with them at 2 other universities and never had the issues that I have here. They don’t care about their veterans or helping them succeed. They will tell you to call people they know aren’t in the office (without telling you). They make it as difficult as possible to even speak with someone about their programs. They don’t put out information about veterans events happening on campus until the day of the event. And the coordinators question everything without giving the veteran the benefit of the doubt. The people have job security so their care of the people they are helping is none existent. If I was just the college I was evaluation I would give it 5 stars.eric jarrard
