20 Best 2 Year Nursing Programs In Chicago, IL (2022 Updated)

I will start with the good. The instructors are amazing. Most of them that I have had are very intelligent and filled with the necessary knowledge to teach you. Now the bad. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE COUNSELORS!!!! Figure out what classes you need to take on your own. I spent 3.5 years there with a combination of full and part time and have no degree and no requirements for any programs that I told them I was most interested in. When I was a vulnerable 17 year old first generation college student there completely on my own they told me I needed to take reading for Nursing. For one, looking back, I placed out of reading. For two, I have yet to come across a nursing program that requires reading. It seems that they always gave me the run around and had me taking all of the classes that I did not need, and none of the classes that I did need. If you can figure out what classes you need to take on your own, then The school if great, and the education that you receive is great. If you have nobody to help you or guide you in your life and are solely dependent on the counselors advise, find an alternative.Amber Parson

I didn’t know I Loved ECC, until I moved and I was out of district so I had to go to MCC. I Hate MCC everything and everyone is shut off by 4pm and there’s no almost no teachers willing to teach past 4 (There are but only some). This is impossible to manage. I’m getting a job near ECC so I can go back. I MISS YOU. Not only does ecc have a ton a teachers, but they offer a variety of times for classes especially in the afternoon. There teachers are wonderful and dedicated (not all of course but most) and there facility offers so many different activities and clubs you can go crazy in there. I won’t cheat on you MCC but I will inform you when I leave you and that it’s not working out.ruby leiva

No a good place to take a home inspector class you have 60 hours to read a huge book, and triton college push you to get brand new book but all the material they show you is from 1900, therefore the teacher encourage you to just read the book because their old material doesn't Match with the new book, nothing is updated. Plus If you miss 1 point on your exam you lose the whole course and have to do it again because they don't give you another chance to take another test even for one point and expected to pay all again.so you waste your time,your money..and all over it the instructor says that if English is not your first language you are in the wrong place and makes comments all the time about people's accents. Clean, friendly, cool school. I was in the A building, the lady in room A126 was VERY nice and quiet since it was a testing room. They even have FREE feminine products in restrooms for women. I asked about future classes and the lady who helped me initially was VERY pleasant and turned her computer screen around to show me how to navigate the schools website!! Do NOT do business with this school. I enrolled my middle schooler in a drawing class in the spring – it cost $300 for a week of 2 hour per day classes. The “instructor” showed up, gave them the option to draw what they wanted, then had them “share out” at the end of each class. With a BREAK in between. No instruction, no critiques. We’ve gotten more valuable classes from the park district for 50 bucks. To add insult to injury, they offered me a second class for another $300 which I declined. For the past seven months, I get a bill and freaking COLLECTION notice every month with threatening language for that 300 bucks. I’ve called, emailed – everyone is going to “look into it”. I’m done trying – wouldn’t do business with this organization again if they were giving it away for free. Buyer beware.Kim Reynolds

Hi!! My name is Katherine Nicholson. I visited SAIC today. Willow and Ahmad toured me throughout the campus; special thanks to them, because both of them were incredibly kind and assisted me with all of my questions, no matter how specific. To say the least, I was floored. All of the buildings were wonderfully designed, and the classrooms were very obviously arranged and built specifically for artists. The dorms were so spacious too!! As someone who's visited many other colleges, such as SCAD, MIAD, Columbia Chicago, and UIUC, School of the Art Institute of Chicago immediately goes at the top of my list. Over $5,000 per class? I researched on payscale and college factual websites and the ROI (return on investment) for this school is abysmal. Forget it. Over $50,000 a year just for tuition and then what? A ton of debt and a degree with a "fancy" name? It's all very well to be a "creative type" but my god be pragmatic too. My artist teen was interested in SAIC and visited but decided not to apply choosing a state school that is half the price and still offers all the art classes she wants for her focus.BMF

Terrible experience lately. Have been taking sculpture but always have known a seething ill will exists. There is an undercurrent poisoning the atmosphere as if some sort of competition is going on rather than artistic creation. If it had not happened so often I would not complain but whatever I work on generally gets moved to the back of the line to be cast whenever. It doesn't feel good. I had put up with it because I live in a tiny trailer and really enjoyed having room to sculpt. It was just a pipe dream I had after I retired but now it isn't fun being the object of attitude manipulation and derision as if I have a case of dementia and am unable to discern the actions of this coterie. This is going to be my last class if I can cast what I did in wax last semester and I'll find some other medium rather than allowing the insult to my psyche to continue. Then you meet with a military personal to give your insurance and personal info to. Then it’s shot time. After a couple min wait I was in the chair. Monitored for 15 mins and second dose appointment made. I arrived around 10:00am and was back in my car by 10:40am.Erica S

I have been a student of DePaul University – Law College since 2019. Before joining DePaul I was contemplating between DePaul and other Universities, I am so happy I made the right choice to join DePaul. Not only is it a prestigious University with many famous alumni names, but also because it is a University that has made the list of the top best Universities for many years. Depaul has the best facility you can hope to study under, the administration are very helpful and my advisor, is one of the best, always available whenever I needed assistance, guidance or help. If you are a graduate of DePaul, you can be sure that employers will want to add you to their staff. Being part of DePaul, is being part of a large educational family. There are two campuses, the main one is located in Lincoln Park and the other one is located in the Loop, right in the heart of the business hub, if you are attending College of Law or College of Business. There are two huge libraries in the Loop campus, with access to Starbucks, as well as to, Barnes and Nobles. In both Colleges you have cafeterias amd study lounges. There is a Toastmasters club at DePaul and many other groups and clubs to join. Also, DePaul offers a help center, fpr students who may need extra help with certain classes, as well as, a writing center for whenever you need your essays reviewed, with feedback and assistance in improving it before submission. With all of the above and more, I could not possibly list all of the things DePaul os known for, or offers, but I can tell you one thing, if you happen to choose DePaul and become accepted, be sure you are part of the many successful people who will graduate with pride. You can be a full fledged patriotic American, but just because your parents travel and you may have a foreign transcript (from high school/ middle school) you are deemed an international student. To add insult to injury this particular issue entailed the student already having graduated from a neighboring community college. Yet still, they are deemed international. An obvious protocol set in place to guzzle money out of the student. Wasn’t even thrilled about their level of academics to begin with, so not having this school as an option isn’t a loss in the slightest for our family. Hispanic Heritage event went on without a hitch. Free of Problems and controversy. Entertainment was Great Food was Awesome. The Highlight was the introduction of the Main Speakers The New Era Young Lord's. Also some Associates and Friends from there Early Year's. The Bomba group provided good Entertainment and a Festive Atmosphere. In the Middle Sixties you could count the Minorities attending DePaul. The all played on the Basketball team. Vast improvements have been made. Opening Enrollment and and Opputunity. We can Thank Groups like the Young Lord's who brought to the light the Contridiction's. Great Job Latino Students.Rory Guerra

Trinity Christian College has great education and dedicated professors and staff. I know the college is trying to work on being more diverse and educate its students on diversity and the beauty of when everyone accepts differences. I found it incredibly difficult to be a minority here even though I was adopted into a Dutch family. I know so many of my Hispanic friends struggled as well to fit in. This college is perfect for you if you grew up in a small, white neighborhood and had Christian education all your life. The college is very cliquey and has lots of white students, so if you grew up in a different background, you will find it difficult to adjust. A lot of the students aren’t open minded to different cultures/backgrounds, and it makes it very difficult to make friends. The white students tend to just make friends with other white students. I wish I had picked a different college for this reason.Lydia

Awesome place to learn and great professors who are more than willing to help and get to know you. There are great dorms with a lot of space and a pretty relaxed campus atmosphere but if you want more excitement you can make it happen as well. Great education, science and business programs as well. I took off one star only because of some of the girls here formed an annoying blond christian group who are super fake but that's only a small portion of our amazing students on campus. I found my best friends here and I am so thankful I went here Lots of intelligent students who are ready to learn and better serve our Lord out in the world.Eric RES

Trinity Christian College well they shouldn't of even call it that since it's a fake Christian College. This school is an absolute joke. Their admissions office is an absolute joke, I had my transcripts sent from my school and they would constantly email how they were never sent. School is very overpriced for the quality of education that you can just find else where for cheaper and better. Don't bother even wasting your time at this fake of Christian university. This review is purely based on my experiences and what I witnessed. If you are planning on attending this “institution” in the pursuit of an education degree, then this is a great place for that, otherwise pay a little more and go to either Loyola, NU, U of C or save money and go to a state school. Favoritism is absolutely rampant within the university as well as subjective grading (e.g. A.D.). If you are on a sports team, you are guaranteed a 3.0 average (this is a fact). I have never witnessed so much cheating in my entire life, until I attended here. The worst person I had to ever deal was in the Sociology Department (i.e. E.W.). “The reason why black people are in jail is because they are angry”, yes he said this. Overall the administration are not nice people. Honestly, if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone to a state school. The sad thing about this place, the student body exhibits a lot of ageism. Meaning, if you are over 27 years old go to a different place.Steve Gonzalez

I made this review because we had a trip to this university. Mary was our tour guide. She was super nice and professional. The entrance is clean, there’s a map of the property next to the entrance, and I like the garden next to the entrance too. I really like the Butler Room because it looks good and old fashioned. The cafeteria is big enough and it surely doesn’t look like a high school cafeteria. The Gallery Lounge looks fantastic and colorful. Scholars den is a comfy, well fashioned, and a good place to study in. There’s a statue of Saint Francis Xavier it’s in the Mercy Ministry.3b0p

Don't go here if you're not a football player or majoring in nursing! This school is garbage! I majored in music education and piano performance. The professors didn't give a damn about their students. The campus was garbage too! Goose poop everywhere you walk! Dirty lake water! Dorm water was different colors as if it was sponsored by Skittles (I kid you not!) My dorm room was literally a janitors closet! You're better off going elsewhere for school than SXU. I recently received a class schedule (non-credit) brochure in the mail from Harper College and found a mosaic class taught by artisan and glass artists Urii Guchenia and Nathalie who has her very own studio in Willowbrook. The class was very inexpensive and well worth it! Kristin the librarian was very efficient in sending us a friendly email reminder along with the campus map to find the building where the class was. The class was held in “The Make Shop” within the library. All supplies were furnished and setup for us. Nathalie and Urii gave a us brief history of glass mosaics and were so helpful while we created our pieces. They had a vast array of glass tiles in every color imaginable! It was so much fun and gave us all a whole new appreciation of mosaic artisanry!Michelle Foy

All along with a beautiful campus, excellent faculty and staff, and interesting engagement activities!! Please do not go to this school, its terrible! I went here for 3 years and obtained an associates degree in Arts meant towards a bachelors degree back in 2014 but my experience was horrible. Me being black and African, they denied me an opportunity to use the Chemistry Lab to work on an idea that I wanted to prove yrt they were allowing other students to use it. Yet, the school used me to advertise in the Daily Herald News Paper as an immigrant that goes to their school doing athletics. I went to this school back in 2015-2016. I was living near the school at the time, but I had to move over 4 hours away after escaping domestic violence. This school hires professors that do not want to see domestic violence victims succeed. Put your money elsewhere. Here is my story: Even with my broken wrist, I managed to complete the courses and coursework, and for a time, the professors were understanding of my situation, since I was not cleared to go back to work yet and was relying on my financial aid to pay for basic things like my phone and my health bills related to my wrist. I ended up getting cleared to go back to work, and had the job opportunity of a lifetime present itself to me. I accepted so I could get back on my feet. However, this was around the same time I had to complete one of my first residency requirements. My student adviser at the time was willing to work with me and found a course that I could take to meet my work life needs. However, it was the only option available to me. Since I had to leave for training for two weeks, the work campus did not allow personal business to be conducted on their computers, which included school work. I emailed my professor, and explained to him the situation that I was going to be gone for training when the class began and explained to him my predicament, asking for a compromise so I wouldn't lose my job. Part of the coursework was to attend GoToMeeting lectures. However, due to the nature of my work, I was unable to stream these lectures as no recording cameras were allowed. I explained all of this to him in e-mails. He did not listen to my emails, giving me responses that made it seem like he wasn't even reading my e-mails, and forwarded me back to the student adviser and washed his hands of it. Ultimately, after enduring a layover at an airport after training had finished, this professor expected me to attend a Go-To-Meeting class with two hours of sleep, then berate me for my lack of participation, after explaining to him my job's requirements and rules, and what had happened since a hurricane caused a delay and lengthy layover on my flight. Thankfully, I am working now, but I wished I never had attend this school. This school only put me further in debt and now I can't even attend the school I want.Reika Chan

I attended 9-11 years ago, so hopefully this has changed. The school psychology program was weirdly punitive. They shamed people for not knowing things like how to dress professionally instead of giving them concrete advice for what they expected. (This is classist.) They required us to be over-the-top obedient to professors and supervisors, even if they were doing something unethical. Meanwhile, they taught how kids do better with a strengths-based approach in which they are listened to. This is true and does not stop when a person turns 18. The professors make students retake classes and redo practicum hours for disagreeing or expressing concern. So students have to pay extra money to learn to suppress their critical thinking. They encourage students to think about "best practices" in their first year practicum. But in the second year their response to problems at practicum sites is "that's just how it is". I was discouraged to get involved with anything "political" like the teachers' strike and campaign to replace campus police officers with counselors because "no one will want to hire you". Their answer to disparities between wealthy suburban districts and underfunded districts like Chicago's was "don't work at CPS if you don't like it". 0/10 Do not recommend.Erin Rusmi

From the Counseling Psychology program perspective, my experience have been exceptional! From the knowledge of the professors to the structured placement process and classroom agendas, I love it! It has been a life changer for me, considering what I’ve learned during my 2 1/2 years here. The instructors are very knowledgeable and have experience on the subjects they’re teaching. You are provided a professional development coach to help maintain stability in classes and graduate on time. Someone is always there to answer questions or help in ways they can. All staff is professional and lead towards the process of your professional development as well . Classes are flexible and class sizes are comfortable ( max 15 students unless blended). I went there over 30 years ago to study Court Reporting. It was an intense program, and I wasn't able to keep up the pace, so I had to leave. Unless you are committed to constant practice & study, this is not the school for you. You must pass each speed plateau in order to move on to the next level, and you only have limited chances to do that. The program (in my day) was designed to get you out in the job market quickly. The instructors I had back then were very professional & emphasized quality & professionalism always. A high-quality institution, but you must be ready for the pace. Good luck!waterfall

I have attended Chamberlain University College of Nursing in Addison IL, since May of 2016 and I have loved every minute of it! I recently Graduated from Chamberlain in September 2020, it is truly a dream come true. I have attended several Colleges and always felt like just a number but, at Chamberlain I was made to feel like what I was preparing for will make a difference in the world. All of the staff at Chamberlain are caring, supportive, and very helpful. I remember my very first day of Nursing school, President Snow was at the front doors welcoming the students to the school. I was so impressed because none of the schools I attended previously gave a chance to meet and converse with the President, I thought that was cool. That was not the only time I had seen and spoke with her, she walked through the halls everyday greeting and talking with the students. She took me under her wing and helped me fly! Attending Chamberlain never felt like a job or something I just had to do. Being at Chamberlain was like being with a very large group of friends and family and I looked forward to going to class and attending all the extracurricular activities and the many celebrations the school provided! Don't get me wrong Nursing school is the hardest and most challenging thing I have ever accomplished but as long as you stay focused and diligent, it can be done! It felt good to walk into the school for class or a new session and know that everyone was on the same page with the same goal in mind. When you attend a University like Chamberlain which focuses on Nursing, you are never really alone in the struggle and there is always someone to help. All of my Professors were very knowledgeable and supportive, they always got back to me promptly and returned my emails and calls. They always made time for one on one meetings to review content and get extra support. The Center for Academic Success (CAS) has an amazing support system and there is always someone there willing to help! All the Advisors are very helpful with keeping you up to date with current events, managing loans, and registering for classes (which can be a challenge at times) among many other things. My Advisor Crystal Chatman is an amazing woman, very caring and supportive. She never failed to answer my emails and return my calls promptly and the best thing, she knows the struggles of Nursing school are real. She always inspired me and supported me with her kind and heart felt words. Chamberlain is a pricey school however, the benefits and support you receive are worth every penny. I did my research as far as pricing goes and I found that compared with other schools the cost is around the same when it is all said and done. To take general classes, Nursing classes, and the obtain a bachelors degree cost the same as compared to taking it in one program and finishing with all of them at once. I was interested in the nursing program in Addison. The advisor for that program is Cory Vlahos. I tried so many times to call her email her so she can help and nothing. She never responded to my emails or never called me back. I filled out the Fafsa, I sent all my transcripts in and I just waited and nothing. I complained about Cory and then she finally called me back. But I was working so I couldn't talk. She said she would call to schedule something and she never did. I tried calling and emailing her again numerous of times after that and she never reached out to me again!! I called one last time and spoke to an admissions advisor Cynthia Kasimov who Said she would help me and then forgot to call me lol I also had to call her back. She gave me an attitude when I asked her why Cory never called back. She said she couldn't find my transcripts and wanted me to resend everything all over again!!! And she had to hang up because she was busy doing fingerprints for the new students!! I couldn't believe how I was treated!!!!Patricia Moncada

I am in my sophomore at Chamberlain University Addison Campus; I have had tremendous academic support from the campus staff, right from the start of the admission. I appreciate a great deal the academic support I have received from my Student Support Advisor, Crystal Chatman. Her meticulous and compassionate approach can not be overstated, particularly with helping through the campus transfer process. The student-centered support and flexibility provided by the school during this tough period reaffirmed that I made the right decision choosing to enroll at Chamberlain University for my BSN, rather than any other university. And regardless of whatever little dissatisfaction I may have encountered, the overall positive and enriching experience over-compensate, which is why I am giving 5stars. Had applied to this school for the MRI Program. Paid all the fees for application, transcripts, etc. Took the entrance exams and passed. Received my classes/schedule and sent them my fafsa. I had been registered for my classes already. I did an interview, the person that interviewed me was not professional, believe her name was Danielle Dertz. When trying to answer questions, i was cut off constantly and put down. Then right when everything was set and done for me to start the course, they give me a call that they do not want me as a student. My time was wasted, as well as money. They thought that I was not a good fit for the program because it is "too stressful". Previously, I was a full time student as well as a full time employee and received my degree from a different school with good grades, so I was stunned at this claim. They based this claim off of a previous job I had quit which had no relation to the MRI program itself. Instead of giving me a chance, when i expressed my interest and drive for the school i was shut down. Really disappointed in how i was treated as a student in the pandemic wanting to further my education Reply to response: The fact that you guys based your decision of my admittance on a job I worked over a year ago is disappointing. Both careers are very different from one another, so it’s sad that it is assumed that I wouldn’t be able to handle the program. My grades and achievements proved otherwise, but that was completely overlooked. I noticed with other reviews that many students had issues with the interview process as well. One would think after so many complaints something would be done about it but i guess not. As a student wanting to further their education, being discouraged because of a decision made, once again, over a year ago, was very disappointing. CNA is not the same as MRI. Many things change after over a year. The way I was put down by the Program Director was very upsetting and unprofessional. And I had also received a full schedule for the program. All of my classes were listed. You guys had waited to tell me that I was no longer accepted, hence my time being wasted. Instead of telling me right after the interview, you guys had waited. Midwestern Career College is a phenomenal institution! The staff, students and alumni are some of the most driven and intelligent people I have ever met. I originally met Mary Schmidt in 2018 and was fortunate to form a great business relationship after attending a career fair at the Chicago campus. While I originally attended this career fair strictly looking for Medical Assistants to hire, Mary educated me on the Externship Program that the institution offers. Mary was so kind to visit various UroPartners locations to further discuss this program with our Practice Managers. After many introductory visits, UroPartners started placing externs last year. We have now placed six MA externs and three of those individuals are full time employees who are still with the company today! In addition to that, our surgery center is now also participating in this program as they have started placing Surgical Technologists externs onsite. It has been amazing to watch this program grow and I look forward to all the future success Midwestern Career College and UroPartners will form together.Yasmine Lozano

I’m currently a student enrolled in the EKG program and I’ve really appreciated the take on online education. We have an in person class once a week that really brings the class together and elaborates on key points. The facilities are really nice, the class I’m in is in their downtown building, and I have an outstanding opportunity to learn about my field. The class sizes are not big so there’s always opportunities to ask questions and clarify for my own sake. The teachers are very helpful and are more than willing to go the extra mile for their students which is amazing because you just won’t always get that at a bigger school. All in all I’ve really enjoyed my time at at Midwest career college and will be recommending this course of study for any of my friends or family looking to get an education in any of the many fields that MCC has to offer!!Michael Goubine

I am very impressed by and appreciative of Gina Aalders. I began my enrollment into the Radiography program fairly late and feared I would be unable to finish the process in time for classes. From the very first moment I met Ms. Aalders, she has continued to go above and beyond her duties and exceed my expectations. What impressed me the most was her level of communication and willingness to assist me however she could. She was proactive in letting me know approaching deadlines and extremely supportive throughout the entire process. Comfort keepers review I was an employee of Comfort Keepers Chicago for 3 years. The employers are a husband/wife team who are hands-on with the company. They are compassionate, transparent, and good people to work for. I always felt appreciated for my hard work and had open communication with the office and my team. They sponsored fun events for the employees and clients to get together. They remembered my birthday all 3 years even sent me a gift card each time! During my time at the company, I was a student with a somewhat unstable schedule that changed about every 6 weeks. They were flexible enough to accommodate those changes. Otherwise, the work schedule was always set in advance consistently. This allowed me to have a stable income while focusing on school. The pay was competitive and included options for vision insurance, dental insurance and a retirement account with employer-matched contributions. I had yearly performance reviews during which I met with the employers and was reminded how much I was valued at the company. I felt comfortable enough to discuss clients or job concerns during these reviews. The only reason I left Comfort Keepers is that I graduated from school and left Chicago. I worked for Chicago Comfort Keepers for 3 years and really enjoyed taking care of my clients because of the positive work environment created by my employers. They offered to help me secure another job in my new city; which is very touching to me. I highly recommend entrusting this company with the care of loved ones. Can I even begin to tell you how wonderful Comfort Keepers is? Beginning from their head Itay on throughout the company? Even caregivers no longer working with clients or off duty have kept in touch to express their care. My sister first found them some years ago when an accident followed by surgery and a stint in rehab necessitated home care. As her needs decreased, Itay kept a personal eye on her. When she recently needed more care, they were there for her, even finding her Beth Myers at 2×2 Health, a private health concierge who oversees her medications and accompanies her through COVID to in-person and video medical conferences and has been her advocate throughout, a real conduit between the doctors and me, so far away. Itay's care and compassion showed itself in so many ways, finding the right caregivers who are all caring and competent, but also fine tuning things so that their personalities fit well with my sister's. He even personally attended a difficult procedure to oversee her transportation and care and most recently involved himself in an important move to a more workable condo. Although this time the care will be long term, thanks to Itay and Comfort Keepers, my sister's condition has improved in every way. I am so happy that they have been there for us and that we can depend on them in the future.Louise Hillman

I really loved taking care of my clients which was built on a sense of trust to make them comfortable. The employers Itay and Jaspreet Shalev are by far the best I’ve ever worked with. I like where I live, Selena in activity is so nice and sweet to us, she does the best activities to go which are projects that we grab to bring to our apartment, they are always fun and great ideas. She is very caring about what we are going through she is always there to listen to us even when she busy , she makes time for us. I think she a wonderful activities director lady. Lori is the women in charge here she so nice to us she makes sure we have nice holidays and good food. She does these cute gift baskets for holiday to guess the amount and they we win prizes. I was visiting my father yesterday at Eden and I was able to eat with my dad, and I witnessed such an amazing act of kindness by one of their managers. I found out that her name is Suzanne and she is the Marketing Director. I watched her go up to one of the residents that was sitting all alone and asked if she could join her for lunch. The resident was so excited. This act of kindness goes a long way during these tying times we live in. Im so happy my dad is here and is well taken care of.Yvette Wose

My loved one use to call me and ask me to get him some good food from some where l. Now I get calls everyday telling me how delicious and good the food is . Everyday for breakfast lunch and dinner . He loves to eat great tasting food and the food is not only healthy but all he can talk about . I had been researching various Nursing programs before committing to Rasmussen University's Nursing School. However, my choice to proceed with Rasmussen was simple and called out to me in a variety of ways. As a potential student of any academic institution, you want the opportunity to be made to feel that your success is supported in every way and that you are valued as a student. Rasmussen checked all the vital boxes that I was looking for in an academic institution headed toward my next nursing journey in obtaining my ADN degree. Unlike other schools I encountered, Rasmussen was very attentive and accommodating toward me. I was virtually guided through every step of admissions and continue to feel supported as classes are actively taking place. I love the customer service, the follow up and continued support that I feel being an active student. I felt confident about choosing Rasmussen to complete my nursing education before I even started my program! My counselor was very thorough and the information session was packed with so many details that made it easy to get started. I was very nervous in my first week, but the student portal was so easy to navigate and I always got quick responses from my instructors. One thing I’ve noticed is that the instructors are dedicated to making sure their students succeed, and that’s what really eased my anxieties as a new student at this school. I’ve attended schools where teachers don’t appear to care much if you pass or fail, but my instructors at Rasmussen get us truly prepared for exams and assignments, which I really appreciated. Rasmussen University is the best college I have come across. From the moment I got connected with them everyone was so helpful. Any time I had questions or needed help someone was always there to guide me until everything I needed was completed. This college allows you to go at your own pace, which is how I finished my associates degree within just 18 months!! Getting my degree as soon as possible was so important so that I can start my career… and with Rasmussen they made it happen. My son did the Medicine & Healthcare 9 day program at American University and we both thought it was excellent! He really enjoyed the hands on aspects of the program as well as meeting students from all over. It confirmed his interest in medicine and got him even more excited about starting college. I appreciated the daily updates provided to parents, complete with pictures and information on what was covered that day. It was a good dry run for both of us for when he goes off to college, although they may have spoiled me a bit with the updates. I think the ideal time to do this is grade 11 because it would rev up the enthusiasm for preparing for college but it was still great for my son even though he had just graduated high school. My son's experience at NSLC this summer (2022) was better than we could have ever imagined! He attended a 9 day session in Law & Advocacy at Yale University. His day was filled with lectures, workshops, mock trials and activities outside the classroom that truly enriched the whole program. He got to meet some wonderful high school students from all parts of the USA as well as from other countries. This experience has truly helped in making him more independent and showing him a glimpse of what living away at college will be like. My son attended a Forensics Science program at American University this summer. It exceeded all of our expectations! As a parent I found it incredibly well run – I felt fully informed and confident my son was in good hands. (And he was on the other side of the country for the first time!) He absolutely loved it, even as an introvert – the learning about Forensics, the leadership stuff, the dorm experience, the fun/social activities. I really enjoyed this Anmut nursing school.My instructor Mrs Lola was very informative and fun. She taught us everything we needed to know to be prepared for the state test. I can't say enough loving and positive things about Home Instead's Skokie office, whom I worked with to find a caregiver for my 85-year-old mother and her 72-year old partner, at their assisted-living facility in Lincolnwood, IL. From the first moment I called them, and spoke with their incredibly thoughtful and gifted Director of Care Planning, Ritika Smith, I was just amazingly impressed with the level of care and attention I received. Ritika stayed in close touch through a very uniquely challenging time to find a caregiver, during the pandemic, and ultimately found an amazing and dear caregiver for my Mom, a caregiver who's become like a part of her family. I'm just profoundly impressed with everyone at the Home Instead Skokie office with whom I've spoken, their 24-hour availability on the phone, and just overall the dedication and commitment that Ritika, Karen and Regina all showed during our journey together while searching for a great caregiver for my Mother, and also the regular follow-up care they've shown to me and my Mom and my Mom's partner. I contacted Home Instead Senior Care on Sheffield Avenue when my father-in-law was nearing discharge from Northwestern Memorial Hospital. I had phoned several other agencies to "research" home care agencies in the area. When I first contacted Home Instead I was immediately impressed with the professionalism and warmth by their intake coordinator of Chelli. She took her time answering my many questions and assured me that someone would visit my father-in-law at the hospital within 24 hours, but he was able to be discharged within 24 hours because of Home Instead! His home care attendant was warm and caring and more help than we could've hoped for. She immediately became a member of the family. Because of Home Instead, my father-in-law was able to be comfortable and in his home surrounded by his loving family during his final days. I cannot express my thankfulness for the professional, yet compassionate staff at Home Instead on Sheffield Avenue!Janet Nance

Just after Thanksgiving, my 99 year old dad and his 97 year old wife were diagnosed with COVID and hospitalized at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. My dad survived but his wonderful wife did not. They had been living independently in their condo in downtown Chicago a few blocks from the hospital. Dad needed to go back to the condo but could not live alone. Luckily, we found Home Instead. The people who stayed with my dad for nearly a month before we found an alternative living arrangement for him were terrific. They were respectful and attentive. In addition, the staff in their Skokie office were responsive and very helpful. This was so important as none of my siblings and I live in the Chicago area.
