I went to Chesapeake after my service year in AmeriCorps which served as my gap year after high school. I studied Computer Information Systems: PC & Network Management and also took part in the Honors Program as well. The classes within my field always proved beneficial and relatable to what I do on the job and also paved the way for my certifications. The general education courses served their purpose and prevented me from having to take any other ones when I transferred. If you didn't get immediately accepted into a university out of high school or if you're a returning student, Chesapeake is a great starting location to start your studies anew.Aaron Wilt

I had the privilege of experiencing this wonderful college through my sons when they participated in Kids@Carroll/Teen College summer programs! In 2012 our friend, who’s a chemistry teacher, let us know he’d be holding a science/magic summer camp there. My sons began attending that year and didn’t stop until they aged out! CCC was always a highlight of their childhood summers and I am forever grateful. The enrichment and education they received time and time again at such well put together programs with high quality instructors was unmatchable! They enjoyed many of Ken Ecker’s art camps and they still keep in touch with him today! He even makes it a point to wish them each a Happy Birthday every year! He’s such a radically genuine person and an amazing artist! And he still teaches adult and youth programs when he comes down from NYC! He’s simply the best! I always loved how the art camps would culminate with a beautiful art show for parents and friends to attend! I have so many photos on my digital frame from those days and cherish the memories! My sons also enjoyed CCC electrical engineering, geography, Star Wars, and veterinary CSI camps (those involved great field trips to vet hospitals, The Humane Society, and a horse rescue; the students also learned how to suture bananas). 🙂 Thanks, CCC, for all you do to promote education, not just for adults but for youth as well.Sophia Christina Maroulis-Castro

If you are looking for a university that constantly drops classes without notifying you and consistently mess up your financial aid and student loans, then this is the university for you. I have never dealt with such an unorganized and incompetent higher education facility. If I were not so close to reaching my end goal with my education I would transfer. If you are planning on taking courses at the HEAT Center in Aberdeen through Notre Dame, such as myself, don't bother because courses are rarely offered there and I have had 3 courses in the past 2 semesters that were to be held at the HEAT Center that have been cancelled and I was never notified by Notre Dame. Now they have notified Fed Loans that I graduated in August when I have not completed all my coursework. Talk about unorganized. I don't think I have encountered one person on the administrative staff that seems like they know what they are doing. I can say my professors have been good; however all of the negative encounters I have had with administration has overshadowed those positives.Kelly Borowiak

This review is of the Entry level BSN nursing program. To be fair, this institution actually has a very good nursing program. The culture of the environment however needs plenty of improvements. This nursing program lacks cultural diversity and sensitivity. The nursing program and it’s educators still caters to the program’s largely Caucasian student population. All of the full time professors that lecture are white with the exception of one Indo-Caribbean professor. This has created an environment of both intentional and unintentional biases, which has also created an open tolerance for racial and ethnic prejudices that should never be acceptable or tolerated in an educational environment. The nursing program would greatly benefit from including an office of Cultural diversity and inclusion to better accommodate and nurture its students from different racial and ethnic backgrounds.Beautiful Life of B

Notre Dame of Maryland was the last college I visited, but the first one that felt like home. I'm only a sophomore, but I know that I made the best decision because the faculty, staff, and student body make this place so great. My professors are always available and helpful, which is great in a pinch, and living on campus with my friends is the best thing I could have asked for. The programs create something for everyone (as seen in my own dorm!) with one roommate as Pre-Pharm in the 3/4 year program, the other currently applying for the Nursing Program, and I'm applying for the 5 year MAT program for education. I’m currently here for night school for diesel mechanic and it a complete waste of time and money. Everything I’ve learned about diesel mechanic, from a book, and the days are prolonged. I could’ve been virtual learning for all of that if they offered it. I can count on my hand how many times I exactly been in the shop hands on working on anything Diesel mechanic. They have all these truck in the shop but when we do go in the shop we only work on one. It’s hard to see or learn anything when there’s 20 people huddled around one truck. Many people have quit because of this, and talk to the instructors about it, but nothing has changed. I’ve been sticking out try to see if I’m going to get my $18,000 worth but haven’t yet. I hope this helps someone else out when you read this. DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL FOR DIESEL MECHANIC YOU’LL BE WASTING YOUR TIME AND YOU MONEY.Mika

The only thing that this school will teach you is how to be a homewrecker and cheat on your wife. The female staff there fraternizes with the students. They will go outside with the students and get rides from the students or even walk around the mall with the students. You can even get oral and more in the conference room and in their office. Or even in the elevator. The teachers will let you leave the class for long periods of time and not even say anything about what your doing . My almost perfect attendance and wasn’t even at the school. Half the time my ex would be late to class because he was in her office getting taken care of if you know what I mean. The teachers knew what was going on and didn’t say/do anything about it. This went on pretty much the whole time my ex was there and nothing was done.Mishelle

Today I was able to pass my CDL road test on the 1st try. I must say I had very knowledgeable instructors who made the experience worth every dollar on the investment. SHOUT OUT TO BIG BEN (Mr Ben), Dana, Alex, Tay, Dwayne, Terence & Ms Kay. And I can't forget about Mr Al. My advice to all is to stay focus on your goal (not your get out & look) and maximize on your daily contributions to obtain your CDL. For those who would prefer automatic, I would highly recommend to not give up on the manual because it's challenging. Beautiful campus off a not-so scenic main thoroughfare (Baltimore Avenue). I attended for one short semester and it was nice to return and see all the progress and development that has occurred over the years. Numerous new buildings including campus dining and resident halls. The campus tour we attended for my child was long, and they still have covid protocols required for visitors, which is a bit bizarre, but not entirely surprising, since the State of Maryland always thinks it's on the cutting edge of progress. Also surprised how dead it was on homecoming weekend, and the students we did see wandering on campus do not wear their Maryland colors. A bit disappointing.Avalus

From my experience till now UMD is an amazing college with an even amazing staff and infrastructure. Orientation for students are very important and UMD makes sure they have proper ones. The college is really big and is like another city in itself with everything possible available. It will take time for you to know your way around. Classes are equipped with the latest tech. Lecturers know their subject and are very approachable. These few words wouldn't justify everything about the college. Make sure you do your own research. Really nice room. All the lights had mood settings and automation. The scenery was very modern and clean. The bathroom was nice and it had some amazing views very comfortable hotel would definitely visit again. My only recommendation would be maybe having some kind of microwave or something available in the room. However I might end up upgrading to an executive suite next time just to have a dedicated kitchen.Jovon Leblanc

I realize that my opinion can't stand for the whole school (chemical engineering​ 2017), but having held a student job that allowed me to see a lot of the behind the scenes stuff and was part of a department that was in the midst of a lot of changes, I do think I can offer some insight. First, unless you're a proactive genius who wants to do research their entire life, don't bother coming here. This school doesn't care about industry or the jobs it offers. This school talks a lot, but doesn't follow through very well. For instance, the higher ups tend to be good, but the people below them are horrible. The career center is a joke, the admin people are flakes who pretend to know what they're doing, and the professors are very hit or miss. How this school got "best undergrad teaching" is a mystery to me. The only good majors are comp sci and bio. The rest of the departments, especially mine, are either full of hot air, stupid in their decision making, or just plain lost. This university attracts a lot of insanely bright students to their undergraduate program and the stem majors would suck without them. God knows the STEM majors don't get genuine help from their professors. I had to go an extra year because of the negligence of my department and two of the many professors that left during my time were upset and thought I should have graduated a year earlier. I almost transferred twice. My department, similar to many others, don't have any connections to companies in industry. This school also hates transfer students despite having a lot of them. Don't expect to finish any degree in 4 years if you're transferring in. There's no social life here because the school is filled with pasty nerds. This is the worst school in the state of Maryland (and possibly in the US). Several buildings on campus are run down (the Sondheim building has even had asbestos in it). The quality of the food is poor and it's overpriced. The social life sucks. It's not a well-known school outside of Maryland. And most importantly, classes are insanely difficult (especially for STEM majors). The classes aren't designed to weed out the slackers. They're designed to weed out the people who try their absolute hardest (and sacrifice things such as sleep and a decent social life) but can't keep up with the immense workload thrown at the students and/or approach assignments with the same exact mindset as the professors. Exams are geared less toward understanding important subject material and more toward deciphering what the professors are actually asking. This school is nothing but a weed out school. I know students who are very intellectually gifted yet still struggle with courses only because of the professors. Almost every professor, by the way, couldn't care less about students and (one would think) they take pride in handing out bad grades – maybe because it inflates their ego of "how brilliant they are compared to others". One more note on the courses – for many courses there is one week between the final exam and the last normal exam of the semester. The biggest mistake I've ever made was attending this "school". I can honestly say that attending UMBC feels like a form of imprisonment. I can't overstate how much I truly despise this school. Please don't make the same mistake I did – go to UMD, Towson, or really anywhere but UMBC.Bucky C

There are a lot of great things about UMBC, the career center is great and there are some top-notch professors. There are some problems though. One annoying thing is they nickel and dime you for everything. Parts of the campus are run down looking and they wont go there during the tour. Most of my professors have been good but my girlfriend who is an art major has had more than one professor that just had students watch online videos instead of teaching them animation topics. -Library carpet is worn out -Chairs in library are so gross your arms stick to them -ITE building has chairs with foam falling out -You must pay to play ping pong or any game in the "game room" -The billing dept gives you very little time to pay the bill and is quick to issue an expensive late fee -Social life isn't great on campus Another thing worth noting that has unfortunately been getting worse is UMBC's leadership imposing their political motives on students through 'updates' on current events. Updates are fine but the vocabulary used in some of the 'updates' is disrespectful to some students who don't agree with the same viewpoints as 'UMBC leadership'. I’m a Ph.D. student School of Business in accounting major, I’ve been at this university for only one semester. I have left since then, becuase of what I went through. Work load is extremely high, and the disrespect that me and my classmates got from the professors is unbearable. Don’t even give it a slight thought of applying here.USA

Education major. I enjoyed my classes and the instructors. I overpaid for what is really a worthless degree because school districts do not want experienced teachers. The issue is experienced teachers have higher salaries compared to new teachers. So while the university can claim a certain job placement rate, the situation changes after a few years on the job. Considering all the money education students have paid Loyola University Maryland, I have never heard about Loyola lobbying for better working conditions for teachers. That's crummy. Every entity wants to take, take, take from education majors but never give back to help our community. I had to pay for my own teaching internship. I thought that was normal at the time, but it's not. Other majors get paid to intern. Do not waste your money on an education degree. Enter teaching via Teach for America or Urban Educators instead. Or better yet, avoid the profession. Please check into the turnover rate.Share D

From the perspective of an African American student, I want to warn potential minorities. I did not experience a really good first year at this school. The professors are not as great as they have told you. At least for the freshman year. A couple of the professors I had, never returned papers and won't send emails. Many times they would change the syllabus and give you last minute assignments. I struggled a lot even with all the extra time I spent on all the classes and getting tutored. This disappointment I encountered has occurred to other freshman students as well. Don't be fooled by the lovely campus now. That's what drew me at first. Not only am I transferring, but soooo many others are also. Be far warned and save some money also. Side note, many Class of 2020 freshman have experienced some unpleasant people. My son is graduating this May and we were extremely pleased with the college. The campus is like a park! My son put a great deal into the College and got back what he put in, a great education, great experiences, a great professional network and great friends. The private school setting adds the lifetime camaraderie. It's small enough that you can actually get to know your professors, yet big enough for professional opportunities. Being in Baltimore and so close to DC, you cannot lose for internships and jobs. Good luck to all! Word of advice: try and transfer out of this ghetto school as soon as possible. It'll save you the headache. TAKE ONLINE CLASSES! That way, you will not have to deal with their crap. The only good thing you'll find about this school is the cheap tuition, some good professors if you can find the right ones. So far, I managed to have good ones. And a few nice students along the way. But the unprofessional, unorganized with the admins, staff, etc is a nightmare. I'm speaking from experience with the financial aid and trying to sign up for classes. They act like they don't know what they're doing. Not to mention, you try to be friendly and they give you attitude like you did something wrong. Plus, the staff and admins are incredibly immature and straight up bullies. When you ask for help, they will act irritated, rude or expect you to it yourself. You know that you are going to be around students all day long, and if that is something you cannot handle or deliver civil professionalism, then why are you working here to begin with? Oh yeah, because they just hire anybody, and just hungry for a paycheck. Oh and also, people just tell you different answers or just straight up lie to you. If I had the choice, I would not spend another semester here for another minute. They really need to do something about this ghetto, unprofessional, unorganized, low class school and hire better admins, staff, etc too. I'll be so glad when I'm able to leave this school because I will not miss it. I'm sticking to my statement that Virginia schools are better. Also, another thing to add is that the advisers do not know how to do their jobs! They are just there for the title, so know what YOU want and YOUR plan, because these advisers will just tell you anything. In addition, they will act so conceited to make you look stupid. I hated this college including all staffs, administration and president of this college I had many issues with back when I was attending this college. Yes, I graduated in 2004, made very high grades and achieve my goals, but the President of this college did nothing about my situation. She failed to do her job claiming that she will not bar a student for harassing me. She is very lucky I did not sue her before I graduated. Other people has complained about allowing non-visitors attending to this school for no reason. This brings a major concern about safety. I would advise no one attend to this school. It sure has very poor administration. I do not care what that president said, she is a very poor administrator. I am glad I am moving out of this state and I will be a excellent administrator this president of this college. We need to hire new administrators in this college and make changes in this college and other schools. I wonder why there are so many bad reviews about this school. It's not as bad as I thought or as I read. Yes, I did have a bad impression at first because I was supposed to take four courses, now I'm taking three because of their carelessness. But that's the only problem I've encountered here. My professors are good. I read bad reviews about the financial aid also but there was no problem with my financial aid and everything went smoothly. Overall, this school is not so bad. My dad had a stroke and went from Johns Hopkins to U of Md. acute rehab. Hopkins staff said he'd need subacute rehab afterward, for a total of about 1-2 months of overall rehab. U of Md. released him after 8 days! He was in excellent physical condition but had significant cognitive issues. We had to fight tooth and nail with his U of Md. doctor to get a home health order for physical, occupational and speech therapy. The release paperwork was missing the entire report from the physical therapist. Staff told me he was good to go home with me, knowing that I live alone, work full time, and have no medical background. When we got to my home in a neighboring state, we found a shortage of PT, OT and ST professionals. 8 weeks after his stroke, he has only had 1 ST appointment, is still on the waiting list for PT, and has had only 4 OT appointments while living with me for the past 5 weeks. Today the OT told him he should never have been released from rehab. It has been a nightmare seeing him languish without proper rehab and trying to meet his needs while holding down a job, taking care of a home and researching ways to help him. His cognitive issues are serious and beyond the capacity of a single, non-medical professional caretaker. I don't understand why U. of Md. would not write orders for sub-acute rehab. This facility failed a vibrant, active, formerly independent man who could have greatly benefited from more than 8 days of rehab. That said, the OT, ST, and PT staff that helped him at U of Md. were wonderful. They did all they could for him in those very short 8 days.cheri conca

If they anticipate that you'll have a difficult recovery and won't return to the community within 2-4 weeks, they'll do all in their power to deny you admission. I spoke to the intake coordinator, who was incredibly condescending and evasive, and she lectured me that my mother might be better served by hospice – she even wrote that in the rehab denial response. That's funny, because 2 of my mother's palliative care specialists, both of whom work within the UMMS system and specialize in hospice, recommended that my mother attend UMROI after her surgery, as did my mother's surgeon, hospital discharge nurse, nurse practitioner, and social worker. The intake coordinator prattled on about how my mother couldn't handle 3 hours of rehab per day and should pursue subacute care instead; this woman wasn't a doctor and hadn't examined my mother, so who was she to talk? I knew something was fishy; I just didn't know what it was at the time. You may think that this institution has patients' best interests at heart, but in the end it's all about money, Medicare and/or insurance, and discharge statistics. If they think you'll need subacute care afterwards, they'll try to avoid you because patients who need extra care after discharge can affect their quality ratings. What a shame. My mother needed care here because of what she experienced as a patient at the University of Maryland Medical Center. They literally added insult to injury. Disgusting people.Em Elle

My dad was here after surgery for a brain tumor with limited mobility. Every day I left, I was concerned about the care he was getting because they are so short-staffed. When the staff was there, it was fine; but there are too many patients and not enough caregivers. Family is not able to be there every day to help with care, so you are leaving your family members in a vulnerable position. There were so many times that my dad told me he was not going to make it out of there alive. I'm thankful to say that he did, but this is not a place I ever want to have to go back to. Please provide more help to your staff. They are overwhelmed and I'm sure not paid enough for what they endure due to staff shortages.Carol Tressler

My parents spiraled into dementia about 5-6 years ago. During a brief hospitalization, we decided it was best to move them into an assisted living facility using a white lie that "it was a rehab facility". My parents were mid-upper 80's at the time and certainly things were not going to improve with time. Loss of memory, cardiac failure, and other issues. Fortunately, we found BrightView Towson with various levels of care. At first, they were hesitant, of course, but after getting settled, they/we found it a great place with FANTASTIC STAFF! Wonderful, bright dining room open all day (guests allowed), happy hours at 4 pm every day, an open living room TVs, fireplaces, and therapy dog visits. And thy have movie night group outings for those who are able. Also an exercise facility and classes. Eventually, my parents needed more intense care, and all they had to do was move one floor down to receive more supervision and assistance. An all in one facility. Most important, whenever I leave after a visit, I tell the wonderful staff there that they are "angels on earth". You will not find nicer, kinder, more patient caregivers than at BrightView Towson!!! And the medical teams come to the patients, not vice versa. I live out of town, but get updates as needed. All of their care is integrated and if needed, there is quick access to a hospital about a mile down the road. Also, the leadership is fantastic: upbeat, knowledgable, honest, accessible, and most importantly, caring! Can you imagine how hard it must be to be caregiver during covid? Well, this team did not miss a beat! Still caring, patient, respectful, and kind! I could go on, but you get the message. Angels on Earth!!!!!Lee Ellis

I contacted the staff to make an appointment to tour the faculty in hopes of finding a new home for my 80 year old mom. They said that I was scheduled at 11am on Thursday. A day before I called to confirm and was told that I really was not scheduled for an appointment because the Director had not confirmed this appointment . I had taken off of work to do this so I asked when they planned to communicate this with me??? My adult daughter and I had to call approximately 4-5 additional times during that week prior to Thursday to confirm whether we had the appointment or not. This made me nervous and uncomfortable that the staff failed to even care to reach out to us and straighten this out. I am confused because I was prepared to pay $6000 a month for my mom to live a good life there but they couldn’t even return a call to confirm an appointment. Brightview was definitely a very beautiful facility way over priced for the care you receive! Don't get me wrong the aids that cared for my parents were very kind to them but watch out they talk behind your back ! I heard some very disturbing conversations, not professional at all! They have very serious issues with STEALING doesn't matter what it is down to the wet wipes and pull-ups very sad the monies we spent for items stolen was astronomical! So our family had to make a decision to move my parents to another facility that was working with our budget! And we are so glad we did our cost was cut in half and no stealing so pleased with our decisions! Five stars! My overall experience was very good. I enjoyed the classes and the Ms. Shay was very helpful. I was stressed about drawing blood at one point since I had struggled with it in the beginning but Ms. Shay talked to me about where I was struggling, gave me good advice and encouraged me to keep studying, so I'd be prepared and able to try again. I would tell anyone interested in Phlebotomy about this place and I did today! This class was amazing! Ms. Shay was a wonderful instructor. Her class was full of all the information we needed to pass our exam successfully. She made sure each and every one of us was as prepared as possible for our national exam. She also made class fun, which made me look forward to going to class. My experience was wonderful miss Shae is a wonderful teacher. She doesn't over bare with information and she makes sure to get each and every one of her student on the same page. She gives necessary information in class to help build her students up has a Phlebotomist and she uses real like experiences when explaining. This school wasted so much of my time. I was using a veteran's program that ends this year, and I spoke with their admissions, the VA rep, and academic advising and they put me thru the whole process of enrolling, having transcript sent, etc. Then I was told by the VA rep to enroll right away, but I was not allowed to until I spoke with Advising. At that time I was told I was good to go and could enroll on Oct 24th. I called the school to enroll on that day and was told I was too late. The classes I would be enrolling for start the following January. I was given contradictory information at every step, and now with such a time crunch on my hands I have to start at square one talking with a bunch of other schools to see who can fit me in. Meanwhile I've wasted a whole week waiting for this school's "first day to register" and paying to send my transcript. I am not at all a happy camper, and will never do business with this school again. Very disorganized and not very professional in their dealings and customer service.Christopher Hinton

My daughter took a class with Professor Yvonne Chaney. There was poor communication, minimal instruction, and unfair grading. My daughter has been a straight A student her whole life. Taking APs and honors classes. Never below a 4.0 and she currency has a 5.3. She has been doing very good in English, which is why she chose to take this class. The grade given was unfair and incorrect. I am incredibly disappointed and frustrated with the result of this class. I don't think this teacher knows what is she doingh T

This school treats me like trash. A lot of things they have done since going here is sneaky and weird and if it continues I’d have to report them to the real government. This campus plays games, jokes and gossips about students, and acts weird about everything and I mean EVERYTHING I try to do. It drains me to the point that I want to drop out of school indefinitely. Top Knowledge Healthcare Institute was a great location to learn and attain my Certified Nursing Assistant certification. The staff and Ms. Ada were not only friendly to me but, also were available to help at every turn if you need them. The instructor (Ms. Ada) is extremely knowledgeable and you can definitely tell that she has a passion for nursing which shows in how she instructs her students. I wish she was offering more classes such as these as I know I would be first in line to take any courses that she is instructing. A+ School!! When Signing up for class I had no idea I would be in a small class setting and I enjoyed it more than anything. I was able to ask questions to understand more. Staff was Nice. Friendly and clean environment. Learning devices and equipment made hands-on easier to learn techniques and procedures. The Teacher (Mrs Ada) made learning interesting. She was Awesome and Always Excited about Teaching. She explained everything in detail. I felt well prepared upon completion. Transportation to school wasnt a problem. I started here at CCBC as Dundalk being my home campus in 2016. I was 27 at the time, admissions process was easy enough. Getting used to the login and whatnot and becoming accustomed to Blackboard was also pretty simple. I joined the Honors Society, even got on the committee for a while. Probably took classes every semester besides one ( including summer and winter). I had a 4.0 GPA all the way up until the end of the Fall 2018 semester where my GPA went down a few points. So here is it Spring 2019 and I had some major life stuff show up so I had to drop out of my classes for the semester, mind you I was suppose to graduate in June. So the school sends me a bill for $4,000 (money that was taken back cause I dropped the courses) and tells me it’s past due and it needs to be paid immediately. Not once did I receive a phone call from anyone telling me this was gonna happen. Not once did I receive a concerning phone call as to why a student with 10 credits left to graduate and 4.0 GPA decides to drop out completely. I called the school myself and guess what, the payment plan option has expired, although the notice I got was sent after the expiration date. I was basically told that’s not their problem. So for me and my 50 credits, we will be going somewhere else. Thanks CCBC for showing me it’s not about the student, it’s about the money. CCBC Dundalk GED program really does not support the mentally ill. Even those who try . They do not support those with ptsd or ODD especially those who are really trying to get ahead .It's really sad who and what we as human-beings had become ,cruel evil and rude also hurtful! And really vindictive 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽Smh. It took that person 7 yrs to get the courage and strength to put aside whatever their abuser installed in them . Which are? they are nothing they are stupid and never would be anything . Sometimes we all need a break but to prosecute and terminate someone for being honest about their illness ?? Is really cruel and evil and sad . But that individual will receive their ged but Someone else where teachers and professors aren't afraid to help those who are in need and that's willing . I have 4 daughters. Three of which attended and graduated from universities, which I never experienced any problems with. My 18 year old is currently a student at CCBC-Essex, and I would NEVER recommend any parent who cares about their child's education to enroll them here. I am not very familiar with how smaller community colleges operate but I can say that I am experiencing the absolute worse service ever. After a long frustrating experience with Financial Assistance, I called thinking everything was finally in place. The woman I spoke with initially thought she was speaking with my daughter. As I asked questions she spoke in a very short and rude manner as if I was unintelligent. After being talked down to and hearing her say, "Well, we are not automatic mind readers" I asked her to calm down because she was actually speaking with the parent. As I attempted to get her name, she rudely hung up on me. I have never experience such behavior. Therefore, I will be filing a complaint.Andrea Freeman

Love being able to give my kids practically endless reading material. There are some great finds if you have the time to go through 'the stacks'- large cardboard shipping containers that are loaded with books. There's also a very nice kids' corner now with a couch, chairs, rug, pop-up train, mural, and of course books! One major downside is that not enough books are shelved. Even unsorted, it is easier to spot classics and favorites if you can glance at a shelf instead of picking through a box of hundreds of books… But still, what a wonderful place!Rochel Gewirtz

It's amazing how awesome and dedicated the team here are! As an avid reader, there's no limit where you can go when you open a book! To have a direct source here in Maryland that provides free books is priceless! Conveniently located in The Woodberry area. Although COVID has put a damper on being able to visit or even volunteer, donations are still being accepted and time slots to volunteer are being made. Lots of books, mostly a lil older but sometimes you will find a new book. They rid the really old books unless they are classic. Free. Kids can take as many as they can carry. First timers take as many as they can carry. If you sign up you are allowed about 25 books per visit. Great place for kids to pick out their own books to keep without spending money. Hello Future Care! I was a previous employee there at your facility. I administered ADL’s to my residents and I took excellent care to each and everyone of them. I enjoyed every moment helping whom ever that needed help even if they were not my resident/ patient. Future is an awesome facility that has facilitated the best care needed. The patients made my day even through my personal devastations. I would come to work and my co- workers and the patients they helped to lift up my spirit, and they didn’t know what I was dealing with out side of the job. My youngest son was born with kidney failure and he ended up being crippled from ricketts in his bones. The bones started turning inward and his feet starting structuring the same way. My son Chris eventually received his transplant and received the corrective surgery for his legs. Chris rehabilitated himself with the help of God. I was saying that to say Future Care stood by me through those hard times for my family and I. Clarence is the greatest. I just love him because he gives it his all. Clarence Sampson loves the patients and he told me to go and take care of my Chris. Chris wasn’t a patient of Future Care but Clarence was extending his love. I just love the staff and patients at Future Care. My experience while working at Future Care and taking Care of my patients was awesome. I can’t speak for everyone or give an opinion for them, but for me and my observations that’s a God sent staff. Hats off to one of the most loving and dedicated facilities. I cannot explain the care and professionalism that BOTH my parents received at Future Care Lochearn. My mom had to be admitted after surgery to repair a broken hip from a fall. Her doctor at the facility reviewed all her medication one by one with us to evaluate if they are truly needed. Because of his thoroughness and attention to detail we discovered that the hospital had not had the correct dosage for one of her medications and had completely left off another. Her wound specialist did a fantastic job cleaning and mending the incision that had not healed properly during her post stay at the hospital after 7 days. The physical therapist and the occupational therapist worked day in and out to help get her back on her feet. They were kind but stern, they help push her when needed and compassionate when needed. They were very kind and really boosted her spirits not only her body. The attendants and nurses were also extremely kind and caring. If it was not for their care, I am not sure I would be enjoying my Mom's company today. I would highly recommenced this facility to anyone who is recovering from surgery or long term senior care. The entire facility was extremely clean with lots of activities and fantastic food. 5 PLUS Stars!!!Francisco Impagliatelli

I feel like the physical and occupational therapy was superb. The therapists were knowledgeable and compassionate and went out of their way to provide assistance outside of their job description. Valerie, Menuca, Ashley, Ed, Stephanie, and Bill, the director of rehab, deserve special recognition. I found Chervon to be a superb GNA, very helpful and compassionate to myself and all of the other residents she worked with. Elsie was also helpful as a GNA and both she and Chervon made sure to speak to me rather than at me, which has unfortunately been my experience in the past. I was disappointed in the nursing staff, as many times I had to ask nursing staff more than once for something and I did not always have the necessary assistance. I did have a positive experience with Deborah and Ayana but I did not have a positive experience working with Bobby.Marguerite Woods

Move in this evening and nurses haven't showed up. No introduction and/or orientation. Tried to use restroom but toilet was overflowing and restroom smells. Old facility that hasn't been maintained. 2nd – week slow to no service on Sunday December 5th waiting over 1.5 hour with IV left in arm and now bleeding, plus waiting over hour for pain meds.
