13 Best 2 Year Nursing Programs In Atlanta, GA (2022 Updated)

Bruh, the whole school trash…literally. The instructors ain’t instructing. Do not take online classes, the teachers NEVER respond! They didn’t post assignments until 2 weeks after class started and I was literally begging each one to respond to my messages to see what was going on.. THEY NEVER RESPONDED! Then they posted the missed assignments last (with no communication to the students) and expected it to be done in 2 days. I was sick with Covid and emailed every one of them to make-up work, no response initially (which caused me to fall behind), and then when I kept emailing, everyone lied and said they re-opened the missed assignments but did not! It took over 3 months to be admitted to the school. I kept calling and getting switched from department to department , no call backs and no emails- I should’ve knew then. I’m looking for another school to switch to next semester that will let me take my Accounting major online- I REFUSE to give this school FREE money! They need to be reported and sued. Maybe even closed down. THIS ISN’T A REAL SCHOOL! MARK MY WORDS! Lets all work together and get this school shut down permanently! A Mississippian now trying to get back in school after seven years,found Atlanta technical college.I had the hardest most difficult time reaching a advisor for the Paralegal course. I called numerous times and left a voicemail. I also called the dean and no answer. I sent an email to my advisor and received no reply. I finally got a call from my advisor like one day before the summer course start . I was so upset I wanted to attend this summer 2022. The advisor advised me not to start because class starts the next day and I would be rushing and scrambling to buy books and schedule classes. I hate that this school makes it hard for us who are really trying to get this magic ticket to the so called “ American Dream”. I’ve been to better schools in Mississippi and Indiana. I applied and send all required docs in July ai go to the school 1x a week just to be told they have a new system and my application will be updated in 48-72 hours.. No one answered any contact number and whoever is answering the the calls either automatically puts the calls in the waiting queue, or doesn’t want to answer your questions and rushes you off the phone, this morning alone I have been on hold two hours and have yet to speak to anyone. I just received my bachelor's from Herzing University, and I cannot say that I would recommend this school to anyone. For those looking to pursue education exclusively online, I would say that this program is pretty straightforward, however, being on the Atlanta campus was stressful more than half of the time. When I started there in 2013, there were a number of professors that were so passionate about teaching (for instance Mrs. Hess, Mr.Moore and Dr. Friedman <—this guy had to be the best instructor to teach mathematics I've ever had) but to my knowledge, they've all left the campus. Now, it seems like they're understaffed and just unprofessional overall. I had a professor tell me that they asked him to teach a course the day before (leaving him unprepared, and I honestly felt that he was unqualified to teach the class (but when the lesson plans are laid out for you I suppose anyone can teach anything). In the time that I was there, there were three academic deans and three presidents. I tried to get assistance with tutoring once, and I had to literally chase them down to respond to me. Then, three weeks into the class with no tutor and the dean asked me, "Do you think getting a tutor at this point is worth it?" Seeing as though this was the last class I needed to graduate, I was baffled. What kind of question is that to ask a student? When enrolling here, I was under the impression that I would be able to take the majority of my classes on campus. I was a criminal justice student, and the majority of my criminal justice courses, and none of my law classes were available on ground. I pretty much just took my gen-ed classes on campus, and ended up online for two years because none of my other classes were offered on ground. To wrap this up, if you're looking to take classes exclusively online, then sure, give this school a shot, but I could never see myself returning here to further my education.Rose Gold

If you want to stay in communication with anyone regarding your academic records or attendance at this school, DO NOT EXPECT A CALL BACK! Their communication skills are the worst! I am currently in the process of trying to communicate with my advisor, Mr. Jermonte Battle after leaving messages and emails and no response. I was transferred to another advisor who sounded like he did not want to assist whats so ever and was quick to get rid of me over the phone. They are definitely money hungry and make you go through hoops to take of business! I currently attend this school and for them to actually act like they care but don't really show it tells a person a lot. You can request no online classes but will place you in one. The Covenant CNA School is absolutely amazing, from the Administration to the Instrutor. I had a wonderful experience from the admissions process to the classroom. I have been in several college in my life time with some good instructors. The experience I had with Mr Mason was like no other. He was very knowledgeable and professional in his deliverance. He had great patience & he shared real life experiences that enhanced our learning. The class was diverse in several aspects but he accommodated everyone on their level without hesitation. I just completed the CNA class and will say the staff at Covenant is top tier noooooooo doubt. Mrs. Motley, Mrs. Montgomery, and the entire staff are very knowledgeable in the healthcare field. Although Emory Nursing school is rated as one of top nursing schools, they have failed to serve students to successfully complete their study. They are constantly changing curriculums for MN and MSN, which has been confusing many students. Emory also does not have an advisor for nursing students. Their program director serves as an advisor, which she tries hard but it's hard for her as she has other duties. Also, Emory nursing does not support any international students. They were told by Emory that they couldn't finish their programs although they had been admitted and started program already. I have heard from a few students struggling to talk to school to figure out the way to continue their education, but they have not been getting any support at all. Apparently, Emory MSN nursing cannot have international students but they're still accepting applications.H H

Seems like it was such a great school. Why not start a GoFundMe account and get volunteers to help start cleaning up the school and have outside events or events in general to help raise money as well..Just get word out and people from all over will eventually start to help out. Clark already got some of there land back so that's less to maintain. Also, do a partnership with a big school that can handle half, or whatever the agreement is. just like how Georgia Southern has that small school a part of it..just do the same. For the "Le Diner en Blanc" event on 8-19-21, I must highlight the professionalism of the parking, crowd control, security, and help staff. The intermittent rain didn't dampen the excitement of this large outdoor event. The Audio, Video, and Lighting equipment worked perfectly. I am a parent of a freshman. The Spelman administration does a terrible job in completing students’ records and getting students paperwork together in an efficient manner. My daughter sent her transcripts multiple times when she would follow up she was given multiple contacts which none of them were helpful or at least remove the transcript hold so she could register. She has been giving the run around because the people in the office punts responsibility in doing their job. I wish I could blame it on COVID however after my daughter has talked to upper class students this is how the school operates. Spelman’s bloated, inefficient administration. It is unconscionable you do not allow freshman to have window air conditioning units in modern day summer heat, but sophomore's and up can have them. When it was 96 degrees and humid with wet bulb temperatures well over 100 degrees, I know of one person who had medical difficulties who asked for an exception from several levels of authority, and was denied. Spelman has a history of choosing top candidates for admission; I’m not sure of the current acceptance rate, but it’s an elite institution. Of course Spelman is a college, but its’ niche goes beyond high-level academics. The experience at Spelman is steeped in excellence, pride, and sisterhood. Overall a great experience in the Master's Program. There is a range of expertise within the teaching staff, as with most schools, but overall very knowledgeable and able to convey the content in a practical manner. Because this is an accelerated program, there are benefits and disadvantages. The benefits include a fast pace creating an ability to quickly complete the course in one year. Additionally the program is very economical for a master level education. The downside is limited interaction on a regular basis, limiting critical thought. Overall, if you are looking for a good program, with a fast pace, and reasonable price, this is the school for you.Ed Vickless

As great place to host the State Special Olympics, Emory is a wonderful place that suits the needs of this event. Being a high school student which is about to graduate high school, I am looking for a college which will give the best life experiences and potential. This place has great dorms and, overall, a modern architecture that is interesting to the eye and does not leave my imagination to boredom. But instead if just being here for a college visit, I decided to stay for a couple of days and realized flaws which leave me in distaste to the point of not recommending this college. Reasons are: The curriculum seems to be very beginner-like with classes and courses that I have taken as a regular high school classes. Also, eating the food for three days was the worst experience. Everyday it was poor quality food with hardly any taste which brought dissatisfaction to me and my friends at Emory. From the outside it looks very well put together, but in reality, it is just an easy way to get a degree and not be prepared for the real world in the future.mascara _m

I graduated from Emory in 2010 and can say, without any reservations, that I received a great education from the institution. Generally, the professors were brilliant and accomplished and made time for their students. Great selection of classes. The facilities were top-notch, including the dormitories (definitely better than at some of the Ivies) and the library has a ton of volumes. The endowment, though hit hard by the Crisis, still makes anything possible, really. I made use of all of these resources to go on to attend Harvard Law, for which Emory more than adequately prepared me. Additionally, they have one of the best financial aid programs in the nation (Emory Advantage), such that, if you've got the academic credentials and the personality, there's no impediment to attending. Emory Advantage made it possible, for example, for me to attend. The campus is beautiful. And Atlanta is a pretty awesome city. 5 stars.Gretel Martinez

They (staff) treat transfer students (myself) and freshmen (I witnessed) like complete idiots and garbage. I called admissions to get some help when I told the employee what my problem was she started to laugh!! Then she said I am sorry I didn't mean to laugh. I feel humiliated. I have normal relevant questions and EVERY department I have talked to gives me a vague smart ass statement (not answer). Then they direct me to another department that directs me to another department. I don't know if these are students working part time or what. Parking is terrible for students who commute. I thought it was just me, but it seems like when an advisor or financial aid/ enrollment services meet with students who are new to the school, it gives them a reason to be rude and like they don't have time for your questions. This is my first and last semester here. I just wanted a chance to go to the largest school in the metro area and possibly in Georgia. Before I end this review, there is one woman who made me feel very welcomed, she was so nice and informative and just 100% real. I Think her name is Vanessa on the fourth floor of the advising building. I hate myself for not grabbing her card.If I come back for a CIS degree, it will be because of her. I highly doubt this university has a rating 4 stars and they're just keeping 5 star reviews form eons ago and removing the reviews that don't completely praise the institution. Probably the same case as to why they're not rated on USNEWS. The Financial aid office, Housing, and a couple of other departments are either terribly understaffed or just plain unprofessional. You will rarely get a timely solution or uniformed response from these people; most the staff in advisement are basically a bad joke. This school is very unorganized as a whole and if I could re-do my choice for undergrad…you get the drift. The saving graces of this school are the professors and organizations/activities for students to participate in on campus. Location is pretty great if you're into the city life but be prepared for the expenses you wouldn't normally face living on a traditional campus. Also find it funny to mention that there are now some reviews from people who graduated more than a couple years ago but just now decided within the last month to write "glowing" reviews condemning any constructive criticisms? Seems a bit odd. If there are 1-2 star reviews from students, it's because most of us want the problems resolved and want the institution to get better since we are paying numerous fees to get our education here instead of at cheaper alternatives. What a waste of time! Not to mention the amount of debt I've obtained over the years. I've watched them take money from students, force teachers to write books and sell them… only to buy more buildings to persuade the masses! How ironic that financial aid could only get you enough money for tuition for books and you would have a $500 balance to borrow more money… the ultimate setup to acquire for loans and more money to them. Not to mention the "Book Store Credit"… to purposely draw you into spending twice as much money on REQUIRED books. There are also a ton of hidden fees in your account ledger that they do not tell you about (because we're paying for all of the upgrades around the "campus"). I used to like the school… then I realized… the lines are getting longer… I am taking IRRELEVANT forced classes… the Financial Aid office reps are trained robots… the buildings are getting nicer… parking fees are increasing…. I am not a name…. I am barely a number! But numbers lie, as do big financial institutions… that are only about MONEY! Stay away!!!! If the homeless don't get you (attacks and robberies), then GA State will find a way!!! If 30,000 students pay at least $3,000/semester, that's $90,000,000! :/ Oh… and grades are not released until you evaluate your professor. Very intimidating. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL!!!! I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL!!! I enrolled in their commercial truck driving course and let me tell you I wasted 8 weeks and thousands of dollars. On basically driving around in circles all day. We were guaranteed at least 58 hours of on the road driving, and I maybe got 10 hours of driving on the road. The instructor Mr. Johnson was the worst instructor in commercial truck driving school history. I had to teach him the pre trip. He didn't know how to teach the backing maneuvers or how to train in manual transmission. The truck we trained in had a severe air leakage from the air brakes. The tail lights and turning signals didn't work. I caught him watching YouTube videos on how to do backing maneuvers. The program instructor Jefferson Solo, ignored our complaints about the unsafe vehicle. He knew Johnson was not properly training us. Yet failed to oversee his employee. i feel Atlanta Tech cares more about money, versus safety. I will be filing complaints to the DDS compliance, US dept. of Labor, FMCSA and any other organization that I can. PS. If you are a woman and plan on attending this program, do NOT apply for the Pepsi Cola foundation scholarship. They will keep the money and will not pay for anything associated with your fees. The whole program really needs to be shut down and restaffed. If you already know how to operate a truck you should be ok. This is for the beginner students, like myself. Who gotten taken advantage of and now I have to back track and find another way of obtaining m y CDL. Atlanta Tech has not heard the last from me. I come here to get the FREE DENTAL work done by the students. I enjoy coming here the students are GREAT with the instructors handy to assist if they run into a problem .. Very unorganized and EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. Over crowed classroom (150 plus in one class) and no room for personalized attention. Students get lost in the shuffle and the faculty and staff are not a help whatsoever. The most waste of money and time ever spent.
